Went there a couple times and both times were disappointing. I was looking for a frog for my daughter, she wanted a bright green one. I didnt know the exact name of the species, so she made me feel stupid by saying " there are thousands of different frogs" and kind of rolled her eyes while saying it. At that point she flat out refused to help me. They are supposed to be the professionals, she could have tried by showing me some examples of the different species they can order. I just went to pet smart... They didnt have what my daughter wanted in stock, but they showed me some pictures of the different kinds of frogs they can get and we found the perfect one. They also answered all of my questions on how to take care of the frog and the size of terrarium i needed.

If your looking for friendly knowledgeable place to shop with tropical fish and reptiles look no further. DJ's carries a wide selection of saltwater / freshwater fish, reptiles / amphibians as well aquariums and accessories for great prices. I was very happy with the service and my fish and reptiles I purchased were healthy and well taken care of. I would recommend this pet store to everyone for I now return regularly for my feeders and aquarium needs.

This place is literally a dump. Went into the store recently and instantly was disgusted. Not only is it very dirty, the condition of the animals is just plain disgusting. The feeders were caked in blood and dirty shavings. The lady there didn't think I would know the difference between this but she sold weaned rats as adult mice. I literally turned as I was walking out and told the person I was with that this place is a dump. Do not support this place.

Went in today about an hour before closing to get some feeders for our bearded dragons, been coming here for years and always look around at the different animals before we purchase what we came for. But we didn't make it past the reptile isle before we seen the terrible condition the animals were in. They had 2 urymastic lizards in a very small encloser. Might I say had... the one had sever burns on it and what looked like fungus growing on it, and sadly the other one was dead for so long we almost couldn't tell it was another one.... this was so disgusting we literally said go look at your animals and left not even trusting to purchase food for our lizards from here

We were so pleased with our first visit. We spoke with the staff about purchasing a new aquarium. We picked one out and were told it would be about two weeks. I called the day before to see if our aquarium was set to arrive. I was told yes. Next day I called and was told wait until the end of the day. We went in and then were told shipment did not arrive but would be on Monday. Went in Monday and still no shipment. Asked if we would get a call when it arrived and that was 18 days ago. Would of loved to help support a local business.

This is a terrible pet store. Sick fish, sick dying reptiles and the large turtles are crammed in a small tank. The owners here either are uneducated on how to care for animals or don't care. Either way this pet shop should be shut down, or under new and proper management. If I could rate this lower than a 1 star I would.

I couldn't stay in here too long. The place smelled and the condition of the place was not great. I was disappointed because I came to buy a chameleon if they had one. I'm sure it's a lot of work running this place so maybe hire someone who would take pride to bring this place back up because it's got great potential. Lacks TLC. I wish my 18 year old lived close.... This is her dream job.

Such a beautiful display of exotics!! The girl was SO helpful!!!!! She suggested a few things to feed my picky baby tortoise and it worked!!! If I lived closer this would be my go to store for all my exotics needs. Truely a place to check out if you haven't yet!

I love this place! I got my leapard gecko here and it was healthy and still healthy. The girl thats working there is very sweet, takes care of the place and knows alot. Im sorry for those with bad experiences but I personally have never incountered one.

I went In to buy a UVB tube for my dragon and honestly no one knew what they were doing. I got home and the UVB was used and dirty and would not even turn on its absolutely ridiculous that they tried to charge me full price for a used fixture. They bulbs they sold me for the tube were not the right ones and they ended up bursting.When I came in for a refund the girl at cash was extremely ignorant and Rude. Some of the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. She tried to exchange my UVB Tube for another used one from another enclosure. I told her I would rather a refund, she got very snarky and rude and said she couldn't give me a refund for the bulbs that they sold me to go with that UVB. She then refused to do a debit refund and threw the cash at me. Like litterally threw it at me. I felt so disrespected and they we they treat the animals there is absolutely disgusting. Dirty store horrible staff and unpleasant experience

from the mixed reviews i was hoping this place was going to be good. just moved to Woodstock so having an awesome local fish store would have been amazing. from my first steps in the store it smelt and looked dirty. they have a huge gourami for show that they keep in a super tiny tank for its size. some of the fish looked healthy but there was afew dead ones in tanks. the worst part of the whole store is they had a pile of dead gold fish just on the floor in the show room. the place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. maybe the owner lost passion over the years? idk. but who just has garbage on the floor of there store. not impressed. I recommend going here just to see how much of a joke it is. i wish the owner would change it and make it a great place but that probably wont happen. also had huge turtles rammed in a tiny tank. anyways go check the store out you wont believe how bad it is.

Used to love coming here back when the owner actually worked there. The young girl working doesn't seem to care for customers and is uneducated about the pets. Store is now disgusting, sick fish, and animals not properly cared for. This store has potential to be an awesome exotic pet store but you can find all the same stuff at petsmart.

Would never recommend anyone to go here. It was dirty. Their was a dead lizard laying in the bottom of a tank. The water bowls were all green and growing algae. Gross gross gross place. None of the fish or reptiles look like they were taken care of.

All the fish look sickly or stressed. I wouldn't buy fish from here. The cleanliness is not okay. The selection of fish food was alright. If I lived close I would probably grab fish food from here if I had to.

deceptive, ordered a fish tank and was told the price prior to ordering. When it came in it was $70.00 more then quoted price that she told us. Go to PetValu, they don't tell you lies. They don't answer there phone either.
