Favourite fish and chip place in Ontario. Their Tuesday specials are amazing. I go here every Tuesday. Seriously. Haddie bites literally just melt in your mouth. Scallops are always made to perfection. A feat that many restaurants miss the mark on. And their homemade seafood sauce is the best I have EVER had, anywhere.

This’s our first and last time to order from this place. The service was perfect but the food was really oily. The popcorn shrimp was a day or two old and heated up by microwave or refried. I don’t recommend it but you can give it a try that’s my opinion.

Great restaurants are made because of great food and great service. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the service. Felt like we were invisible and ignored 90% of the time. It is understandable that with a lot of people coming in, the food takes longer but it will be nice if the server checks on now and then. Apart from that, food was great. If I were to go back here again, it will be only for take out.

My wife and mother love this place. They claim it's the best fish and chips in the city. Large portions and good prices. Both take out and eat in. The thing is that I don't like battered fish and they don't have many other options. The chicken fingers are okay the burger is just a bad frozen patty. If you do dig fish and chips this is the place. If not head somewhere else.

Good meal. Halibut was cooked well and served quickly. Nice amount of batter. Downside- rather small serving for price also a bit inconsistent in sizing. In our 2 servings the second piece was 1 finger sized in one and 2 1/2 finger sized in other. Still worth the drive though and I'm happy to support small business

God wow, owner stunk like fish and wouldnt stop flexing his muscles around, bud fired the gang on moms. Never going there ever again as i cant fathom the stench of the owners breath. If u ever go I recommend u bring a gas mask.

The food was delicious and large portions. The server was nice . It was so full 2-3 people were sitting at tables set for 6-8. Serving time was ridiculously slow for drink order/menus and to actually be served our order. Will eat again but only as carry-out. Updated on May 4th 2020 to add: tried carryout tonight. I got the halibut and shrimp combo. The halibut was delicious. That is all I have nice to say. Now as the halibut was gold, the shrimp was quite brown in color as were the fries. All you could taste was overcooked and oily. Will never order here again.

What is frontline thursdays all about? I don't see where you donate a portion of proceeds to a frontline worker fund nor are frontline workers getting a discount on thursdays. Charging everyone the same $14 for a halibut dinner which by the way is no special deal and using our frontline heroes as part of your ad campaign to noones benefit but your own pocket is shameful. Good Friday very disappointed , stood in line for about 2 hrs , no a fence to store due to covid but when I got home with food the order was half of what you get any other time . Small peace of fish and half order of fries. We will not go there again. Very disappointed.

Have seldom had bad food from Pat & Hanks. Love the cod. Edit1: We got Pat & Hanks tonight and were dissatisfied with the size and done-ness of our fish. They explained that sometimes due to market availability, they have to substitute for a different product. I am satisfied with their response and compensation. What a class act! Love you guys. Edit2: Normally when we go to Pat & Hank's, we get a halibut family pack. I however don't like halibut I like cod. In the past they have allowed us to substitute 2 pieces of halibut for 2 pieces of cod. This made it economical for us to buy dinner here. We were informed by the staff that substitutions like this are not allowed anymore and that I'd have to pay for 6 halibut and 2 EXTRA pieces of cod. I decided to reject that and only get the 6 pack of halibut against my wishes. My parents still love your halibut so I'm sure they will be back but I will not return personally, as I don't see it as economical to buy fish here any longer. I'm vaguely familiar with the family that owns it and I apologize for lowering my review rating, but I was not prepared to pay the 70 something bucks. 70 $ to feed 3 people is just too much.

We used to frequent Pat and Hanks a lot more but they changed their home cut fries..they were better before the change in their size. The portions are smaller and prices are high. Still love the overall taste though! Would still highly recommend to anyone who is looking for great fish and chips!

Called in a take-out order. Was told 15 mins for pick-up. Arrived 15 mins later only to have the clueless staff tell me they don't have any take-out orders. Moments later my order was found in the kitchen and I was told they just saw it now and they haven't started making it yet. After another 15 mins of waiting my order is brought out from the kitchen by a young man who likes to flex his muscles and no apology is offered. $50 for 2 two piece Halibut and fry TAKE-OUT dinners and this is the service you get. What happened to customer service? THIS is why "mom and pop" restaurants are disappearing.

I haven't ordered food here for about 6 months. I ordered 2 full sized halibut dinners. When I got home and opened containers, there was alot less fries and no buns. It's also not like you get a large portion of fish either. I'm not in hurry to come back but when I do the only deals are the specials for $10.00 or the big family serving of fish for $55.00. Then one could add their own sides. As it stands I paid $52.00 for 2 fish dinners and a hamburg. deluxe

My family and I have been going to Pat and Hanks for over 40 years. It is often a family favorite for birthday dinners. We ordered to go for my husband's birthday yesterday and was shocked to see how small the fish portion was. We had ordered full dinners, What we received was a piece of halibut about 2 1/2 inches square and about a half inch thick. The price for three meals? $82. I called the restaurant and spoke to the person in charge who was quite nice and friendly. She offered me 10 percent off my next order. When I said that didn't make up the difference she went to 50 percent. What I really wanted was the same size portions we have always enjoyed, even if the price is higher to match the Covid price increases. This fish was so thin it was dried out when cooked. I don't think we'll be going back.

Fish was very greasy and unevenly cooked, one piece the batter was under cooked and doughy and the other rock hard. Same issue with the fries, some under done and the rest dry and over done. Price was ok if it was even mediocre food but definitely wasn't even that! First and definitely last visit! 2 stars bc even though the food was poor the staff was very friendly.
