Cannot recommend. The small, 1 piece halibut was $20. That is highway robbery. I understand you pay a premium for getting fish and chips in White Rock, but for that price, it also needs to be exceptional. It was not. It wasn't even average. It also was incredibly small. Child sized.

Most excellent fish and chips I have had in a long while! Crispy light batter, fresh moist fish with a great pile of crisp chips! Don’t wait in line for Moby’s - head east to Montgomery’s ! Only iffy is that their hours are not as regular as Moby’s but you won’t be left hungry on East Beach even if they are closed!

THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE! There is nothing like this place. I have tried almost everything on their menu and I would give everything a 10/10. So tasty!! There is no better restaurant on the beach! A good old fashioned greasy spoon fish and chips at a reasonable price, for a tourist trap town. I love that this place is away from the busier and overpriced western beach shops. It's generally a quieter area to bring kids, your family and friends, to enjoy a more intimate bit of beach chow. Definitely worth visiting if in the area and craving fish and chips.

My family and I really enjoy Montgomery's. Their cod fish and chips, homemade tartar sauce, and homemade coleslaw are delicious! Also important to us, the vibe at Montgomery's is positive. Whether I was calling in an order or picking something up in person they've always been friendly and accommodating.

Amazingly light non oily flavorful batter, perfectly cooked halibut to die for tar tar sauce and of course great chips! Lots of other treats on the menu (including deep fried pickles) but don't let it distract you from the phenomenal fish and chips. The staff are always pleasant and ready with smiles to greet us. Wish I could give it more stars. ???????? this is a must visit on marine drive.

Born and raised in the area, over the years we have tried many of the restaurants along Marine Drive. We regularly keep coming back to Montgomery's for their delicious fish and chips. They have the perfect "fish to batter" ratio, as we found at other places it is all batter and no fish. But here you get a good quality fish and just the right amount of batter (not too much). It is amazing, and also just the right "crispiness" as my group can be rather picky but we all agree that Montgomery's is excellent, and consistently so. We look forward to trying the Clam Chowder one day, that is if I can pull myself away from the fish and chips!

This unassuming building has a hidden charm that you won't find at the bigger, busy shops. There is a slight English air, very friendly staff that know how to serve but also leave you alone. This made our lunch very relaxing. The place is small, but perhaps the stiff door deters the crowds! The recommended mushy peas were excellent as promised.

Over the years my family and I have come here many times. In fact, it is at the top of the list of things to do when we are in the Vancouver area. It is a certainty that we will visit White Rock and while we are there that we will eat fish & chips at Montgomery's ONLY! The staff are friendly and welcoming even when we being kids. The kids are given crayons and colouring paper to occupy themselves. There is a variety of fish to choose from that is large and juicy. My personal recommendation is the Halibut. There is even salmon available here which I have not seen in other fish & chips places. The fish tacos are succulent too! The seating can be a little bit limited so if you have a group of you I would reccomend to arrive a little before lunch. We never feel rushed here either which is appreciated because this is a very anticipated event for my whole family from my little boys to my grandmother. We often have 4 generations of our family eating here. We will likely be back next Summer too.

We ordered the fish and chips, and fish tacos. We were there on a hot summer Saturday. It was busy everywhere we went and decided to check out this place. The staff were very friendly and service was quick. The food came out hot and so good. I really liked the fish tacos. I still have to check out the other fish and chips locations to compare.

I loved this, I had 3 piece cod and chips and the wife had prawns and chips, the batter on this fish was super crispy and not super greasy, fish was flakey and cooked really well and the chips where crispy and great as well, I will be back, always on the hunt for good fish and chips and this is one of those spots.

I went May long weekend for the first time and it was the best fish and chips I have ever had in my life. The halibut was buttery and did not have a fishy taste and was so good. The fries were crispy and soft on the inside. Gravy was bomb and so was coleslaw. Last night I was back and the fish came out a bit like jerky but was still good, the fries were different- they were brown and stuck together. The gravy was apparently a mushroom gravy? it wasn't the same. Not sure why but a bit sad with the inconsistency.

It's nice when allergy friendly and gluten free options are offered, but it sucks when they charge $2.00 more to make fish without batter. Upcharging makes sense when you're getting something different (ie. A gluten free bun, yes gf bread is more expensive, I get it), but otherwise feels like you're taking advantage of people with allergies. Food was good. Wonderful, good size salad, fish was very nice. Decent food.

The fish and chips portions are small. Our 3-piece cod came with a handful of fries. The fries looked like fries from the bottom of the bag, broken and shrivelled up. When we asked about the quantity and quality of fries we were offered the option of buying another batch for $6 and were told we have to wait 20 mins to get them. The fried pickles were so greasy that they were close to inedible. The house tartar sauce is ok but is not worth the extra charge of $1.75. If you have a chance avoid this place.

Wife and I drive once a month from Vancouver. A little day outing and give car a nice run. Since we can’t visit our son in WASHINGTON STATE.Damn the pandemic! We love the fish burger, so fresh, so juicy and the crispy onion! Sean and his wife are so friendly efficient and welcoming.They really epitomized what small businesses should be. Next time we’ll call first and order the clam chowder cause it takes time to prepare. Should be mouth watering. We feel good visiting White Rock and support the community. Good job guys

Best fish and chips on the strip and it’s been in business since the 1820’s. Portions are generous. I find the 3 pieces enough for 2 people. You can eat inside or take your meal across the street to eat it on the beach. Great service and friendly staff. Make sure to order the home made tartar sauce!!

After paying over $50 for lunch, my husband needed a washroom just as our lunch was ready. We were told washroom was closed??We had paid $7 for parking close to the restaurant. My husband was unable to walk a long distance to the public restroom. We had to take our lunch and drive in search of a washroom. A very bad experience which will ensure we will not be back!

This is probably the first review I've written on a restaurant despite eating out quite frequently. I grew up in New England so I have had my share of fish n chips. I've also worked as a Chef for over 20 years. With that said, I can say unequivocally, the halibut fish n chips are the best I've ever eaten in my life. My wife loves the shrimp and everything else on the menu, but I can't stop eating the halibut! Phenomenal restaurant here in White Rock!

Portion was incredibly small, bought a 2 pc cod and chips for around $20, but super greasy fries were filled in a small tray with 2 small pieces of super greasy fish on top. Sharing plate was bigger. Customer after me was given house tartar at no extra charge (IN FRONT OF ME), but I was told I had to pay for it. Disgusting! Would give 0 stars if I could!

How do you chose between the dozen or so Fish & Chip joints that line White Rock's Marine Drive? Ask a Local! We're happy we were directed to Montgomery's. Our party sampled cod, halibut and shrimp. Generous portions, tastily prepared. Sidewalk seating is available.

Montgomery’s is an icon! Best Fish and Chips! Friendly service. I Love all three types of fish that they serve; Halibut, Wild Salmon and Cod. Their fish and chips are made the traditional way. The fish is filleted in house and they make their french fries from fresh potatoes. You can really taste the quality. Yum! My spouse enjoys Montgomery’s chocolate milk shakes, I prefer my Guinness.

We went to Montgomery’s for lunch today and had their fish & chips. We had one order of cod and one of halibut. Both were very good. I upgraded to the yam fries and as expected they were hot, crispy and sweet. The regular fries were hand cut perfectly cooked and hot as well. They offer free packaged tartar sauce or as we did you can upgrade to their homemade tartar. It was ok but a bit too vinegary for our taste. Overall it was a very enjoyable lunch. We will definitely return for lunch.
