Very nice and friendly place, good coffee and delicious sandwiches. High quality food and excellent price.
Awsome coffee! Really good service! The decoration of coffee shop was so cool
There's nothing quite like a morning Americano and smoothie bowl in the uptown location of Islands. Super chill staff, sweet decor, and a cool locals energy.
Delicious selection of Hawaiian flavored Coffee in a locally owned coffee shop close to White Rock Beach.
Coffee was good but the reason for the 3 stars was because I ordered a plain, smallish sized croissant and a medium drip coffee and the charge was $8. Pretty pricey!
Loved the aesthetic of this cafe! I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii so this was a nice taste of what’s waiting for me.
Nice big place. Lots of outdoor seating too. My toasted bagel was deliciously coated with a thick layer of cream cheese, avocado and tomato. Yummy!
I come here most often for my morning latté. Love it. The vibe is really cool, laid back friendly. A nice place you could even bring your laptop and do some work or hang with some friends.
Fantastic cafe, great acai bowl, coffee and Hawaiian ambiance! Service is very good too.
Always a good spot. Great vibe, good food, clean, cozy.
They forgot my order, which is fine since they were pretty busy on Sunday morning, but when I went up to ask about it (after waiting 12 mins and seeing two people behind me getting their orders before me), the one who took my order at the cash, loudly said that she will put my order ahead of the others waiting. She made ME sound impatient when in reality, she forgot to process my order! When I called her out on it, she didn't even bother listening and just continued to make my drink. Great ambiance but they need to learn how to deal with high volumes of clients coming in. As you can clearly see on my cup, my order wasn't even written down to begin with...
I usually come for the breakfast and coffee but lately the service has been very laid back and not in a good way. One of the staff answered a phone call while I’m waiting ? What appeared to be a personal phone call for at least 5 min. And the other day I waited for almost 15 min before asking how long the food would take and he forgot to make it. So I had to leave the place because I was in a rush and pay 8 bucks for just a small coffee. Good food Service needs improvement.
A gem of a cafe in White Rock. The coffee is amazing and a fantastic way to start the morning. The atmosphere is relaxing - where you can really unwind and enjoy a great brew. Highly recommended.
Perhaps acai bowl instead? Don't get poke here. Get sushi instead. Or Go to Westcoast Poké. Your reviews have customers telling you they are disappointed with your Poke & you're not interested in change in your replies.
Happy to see they offer ceramic cups and they are using more biodegradable products. Was disappointed to see their 24th Ave store only offering to-go cups. Keep up the good work! You can’t use the ‘island’ mantra with out looking out for Mother Nature.
relaxed atmosphere, pretty place, Customer oriented cashiers and baristas, great coffee and plenty of pastries and cookies, reasonable prices, plenty of 2 hours free parking in the area.
Looked inviting. Unfortunately we were unable to visit on our short stay. Will visit when we return in the spring.
Still to try the Poké bowls here, which I love, but for my first visit ...5 stars. Not just the unreal Açai bowl I had for breakfast, or the bold, perfect cup of Hawaiian grown coffee, but the atmosphere as well. Really has a stylish, island feel. Definitely reminds me of Hawaii.
If you've never been to a cafe in Hawaii then this is a good place to go to get some islands food and charm. They're Poke is delish!!
The coffees and smoothies are decent, but I went for the Poke bowl today and what a disappointment! Literally nothing more than a bit of overly spicy tuna with way too much onion on rice. I don't know if this is how it's always been or if …
The atmosphere is second to none, providing a cozy yet professional environment good for activities ranging from a meeting with potential clients to a day out with friends! The coffee is hand crafted and made with care, both hot and cold beverages done to absolute perfection! Be sure to give this a look if you're in the area!
GREAT.COFFEE.GREAT.PASTRIES. My go to for coffee whenever I’m in White Rock. Atmosphere is very relaxing and calming. Staff are always friendly.
The most delicious breakfast sandwich anywhere ( with tomato and sprouts!). Gluten free and vegetarian options. Decor a soothing modern Hawaiian/surfer vibe in decor and music. Feel good, and chill out.
Islands Cafe is on trend with their poke and acai bowls. Both are priced fairly, and are a fairly large serving size. They also have a wide espresso beverage menu that includes some Hawaiian themed originals. They also have an assortment of teas, and wide selection of non caffeinated options.
Routinely before I have a sit down study session at home, I make it a point to walk down here for a coffee/tea latte. Super motivating and refreshing! Their stuff is fresh, comfortable space, great vibes and kind staff. I do wish they required customers to wear masks though; I often feel like the only one wearing one in the café and sometimes I decide to go home since too many people are not wearing masks or social distancing. Other than that, this place is fantastic.
islands cafe is great for sitting and doing homework, with nice views, or just getting a coffee when out for a walk! the love there açai bowls:) the employees are quite slow so you have to use your patience when waiting for your order.. my mom and i like to joke they are on island time lol
One of my most visited spots , the employees are very welcoming, and they get to know you by name , it feels very personal to get that greeting when I visit , there food options are great , I recommend the big island , it's one of my favorites , the atmosphere in there is just like its name.
I tried the North Shore Acai Bowl for the first time and it definitely tastes as good as it looks! It came exactly as advertised: topped with granola, coconut, honey, sliced bananas and strawberries. The staff were kind and welcoming to me and each customer that came in after. I will be back!
Had the large Acai bowl and a small Americano. Very filling probably could have ordered the small. Coffee I good have had better but no complaints.
Great coffee and breakfast sandwich. Nice atmosphere.
Clean and spacious space, great for those who work on their laptop like myself (there’s plenty of sockets for charging) and the employees are always going around making sure all areas are tidy. I quite enjoyed their açaí bowl.
Great coffee and friendly staff! Have had their whole beans before but this was my first time in the shop while on a visit out to White Rock. Love the vibe of the shop too!
Great place all around. Staff is nice, they do a great pull if espresso and the atmosphere is great for small meetings.
Nice place. Good coffee. Friendly staff. Only 3 stars on account that they tend to play music way too loud. Instead of relaxing with my coffee I need to use ear plugs. I asked the staff plenty of time to turn the music down. They never listen.
Just went there this morning with my mum. The manager was very rude and seem to only care about price difference in sizes despite us purchasing various things. It brought a damper into our day and it was my mum's first time experience. Safe to say we will never go there again or reccommend it to friends. Cute cafe, poor customer service.
I really liked this place, the atmosphere is nice and the food is delicious. The prices are a little high but I still recommend it.
Decided to check out this coffee shop for the first time 2 weeks ago since my hubby & I are big fans of Hawaiian coffee. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the best first impression. The coffee tasted very watered down and I have my coffee black so I know. However, we liked that they sold vegan and gluten free pastries. We decided to share a vg & gf chocolate oat bar and it wasn’t too bad. Hopefully, if we decide to give this place another chance we will have a better experience with the coffee.
Good vibes and nice setting. But I ordered a flat white, they made it more like a latte.
Coffee was good. Atmosphere is funky. However; digging a six inch long hair out of my Lemon Bar was an unwelcome and disgusting surprise. Will never go back!
We ordered a coffee, a smoothie, and two bagels. From the time we ordered until we got our food was just over 45 minutes. My latte was so hot I burned my mouth. Definitely not worth the wait.
I purchased the "big islands" smoothie and oat breakfast bar. Both tasted amazing. The smoothie was perfect compliment to the oat bar and neither were too sweet. Support this local Cafe !
Cool place, good coffee some great bars/cookies. Had poke once simple and good and smoothie granola bowl yumyum
Very friendly staff at this location & always fast service. I normally do mobile ordering 5-10 minutes before I arrive and it’s almost always ready when I get there! Smoothies/pastries are amazing, and I have heard the flatbread is phenomenal! Highly recommend this cafe!
Such a fun vibe! Everything on the menu, both their signature drinks, food, baked goods, and smoothies! Great selection of both vegan and regular food ! I had the salted Carmel iced latte and açai bowl!
Came in a Sunday morning. Great coffee, lively place. Busy and a bit of wait to get the coffee. Nice setting, cool vibe. Stool style seating, they have a few couches in the back as well. Wife tried a breakfast bagel on everything and enjoyed it.
I love this cafe! A wide variety of beverages and food items. The espresso is delicious. The pricing is very reasonable for an independent cafe.
The açai bowls are to die for, it’s worth it for that alone. The hot chocolate was a little watered down but it’s not that bad, breakfast sandwich is really good too. Best açai bowl south of the Fraser River.
RATING: 0 This USED to be my "go to" coffee shop but NO MORE. Here's why... I was sitting at a table by myself, working on my laptop. After about 1.5 hours an employee came and sprayed bleach at my table while I was sitting there - just under the ceiling fan. I had no warning. I immediately felt sick and asked her to stop. She told me to get used to it bc I would have to deal with it wherever I go now. She kept spraying. I went into a full asthma attack and ended up in Emergency twice. They also told me to put on a mask or get out bc I was alarming other customers. I asked to speak to the owner. The girl gave me a card and when I called the number, it was to the cafe I was sitting in. The girls started laughing. I asked if they thought this was funny and she told me that they weren't laughing at me - they were just laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation. I emailed the owner but I have heard nothing back. I understand sanitation procedures have increased, but spraying bleach right in front of someone is unacceptable. It is chemical assault which has led to chemical injury. I am still very I'll at this time, and have been left with a vocal cord injury to the point of not being able to use my voice. I am seeking legal action at this time. At no time did any of the staff show any regard for what I was going through. In fact, when I left, the short blond-haired girl told me to never come back. On another note, when my bagel was served, it was not split on the line. Rather, it was cut to the point where the bottom half, of part the bagel, was just dried out crust. Further to this, a woman came in and sat at the table behind me. That left us about 2 feet apart - max. I had to ask the staff to socially distance her. They have to spray bleach, she said, or the cafe would be shut down. She wasn't at all concerned that their social distancing requirement was not being monitored. I'm appalled at the behaviour of the staff and the unwillingness of the owner to contact me. I felt targeted, disrespected, and bullied. I will add in discrimination as well as she did not spray any other table with people sitting there.
I love the white rock location as a work space and come here a lot. Great coffee, food and atmosphere. I spend a lot of money here and bring friends here. The negative review comes from months of me coming here and observing the exceptional customer service EXCEPT for coloured folks. Please educate your staff. Please ask them to change their attitude and expose them to different cultures. Its disgusting watching their demeanour change. I do not know her name but she is there all the time.. petite girl very long blonde hair. Please help her. She might get away with it in a predominantly white community but please don’t make her the face of your otherwise amazing cafe.
Hands down the best acai bowl outside of Oahu :):) <3
