Arguably the best breakfast stop in White Rock. Small, classic and healthy portions make this my guilty pleasure. I crave an Irish Breakfast many times late at night. The wait staff are lovely and happy to talk, and the cooks are always consistent.

A friend hyped up this place, best diner ever! Wish they hadn't. It was a disappointment, average food and service, prices are not exactly diner and they are "cash only", how charming! They got my friend's breakfast order completely wrong, wrong eggs, wrong potatoes, not appetizing. Don't waste your money or time, there are better choices to eat at White Rock! See cheeky response below! It's not a matter of pricing being low, it's the value of what you put out, and it's disappointing! Also failed to recognize that the order was wrong and food was sub-par. This response should tell you all you need to know about their mindset. They are in the wrong business!

I ordered the Irish breakfast and it was fantastic with my only suggestion being to use British beans instead of Canadian (sweeter) baked beans. The taste is subtle, but an important difference. If you eat 50 style, you pay 50's style. Really credit cards weren't mainstream until into the 70's and this place is better than that any 1975 fast food chain that wants to be everything to everyone. I love to support places like this, in hopes that they don’t completely disappear and the memories remain. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I have been working all through this pandemic and while I face emotional ups and downs in my line of work I always want the people that trust me to have a positive experience. I felt this way here today. Sanitizer / partitions/ masks and all. I feel obligated to support local and yesterday in this neighbourhood a business made me feel very unwelcome when I walked in. I felt at home here and plan to come back. Breakfast was simple, but prepared by an obvious egg artist. Thanks for being a safe and lovely part of five corners.

Staff was friendly but the service wasn't great. We sat at the counter and neither the coffee mor water was ever refilled. We ordered a milk shake that was REALLY heavy on the milk. Extremely runny and flavorless (it was supposed to be vanilla). The cheese in my omlette was the processed liquid stuff I don't personally consider a real food product, but it tasted fine if you like that sort of thing. I had the bite sized potatoes, which I would have liked better if they were somewhat crispy. Sourdough toast was delicious. My husband said his shrimp melt was ok. The shredded potatoes looked gross and my husband reports they were still mostly raw.

Standard fare for a diner done very well. The decor, the service was very good. Parking was easy, and the diner was inviting. A pretty decent selection, I had an omelette, The Kitchen Sink, which had bacon, sausages, cheese...pretty much the works. Quite tasty, filling and very well done. Came with a side of toast and hashbrowns or home fries. Price was reasonable, $9 for the plate. The hashbrowns were disappointing. Dry, powdery and lacking in any real potato flavour. A buddy of mine had the home fries and he said those were lacking as well. But aside from that, I'll definitely be back. I need to try one of their classic shakes - how could I not have ordered one from a classic diner. Oh, one other gripe - cash only. There's an ATM across the street that charges a $2 service charge. I should open an ATM that charges a $1.50 service charge but I digress.

It hasn't change but it hasn't changed. That can be good for some and bad for others. I went there for a business breakfast meeting and found out they don't have avocados. Now, I know this is popular food item now however, if you don't move a little with what people are eating they won't come back. Prices are definitely up there yet they only except cash. Hhhmmm.. Service was very good and the decor is definitely the same as it has been forever but, the decor and good hosts are were it ends, particularly since bacon and eggs is just bacon and eggs and you can get that anywhere. Try it for yourself. I don't think I'm that far off.

On Sunday July 7th, 2019 my spouse and I went to Five Corners Cafe for breakfast at about 1 o'clock in the afternoon. When we came in the place was pack and there was a group of 5 people for a table before us. The young waitress told us to sit at the counter until there would be a table available. I asked the waitress if we could have a coffee at the counter until a table would be available. She give us our coffee then an older waitress told us there was no table available because there was a group of four that came after us and they were waiting for the next table. The older waitress asked us if we wanted to order at the counter and I told her we would be waiting to order until a table would be available. The group of 5 were already sitting at a table of four but were waiting for a larger table to come available in order to be more comfortable. Then when the group of 5 people moved to a table with 6 seats, then there was 3 tables of four available. The older waitress finally decided to sit us at a table but she did not served us, the younger waitress did. When my spouse went to pay the bill the older waitress told my spouse she did not like me telling her how to do her job but I never told her that. My spouse and I have been at Five Corners Cafe various times and always enjoyed the service and the food but today the service of that older waitress was awful. My spouse and I will never go back to Five Corners Cafe after the way we were treated by this older waitress.

Over cooked garbage! I’m shocked at all the good reviews. Tuesday morning got a table easily, place had maybe 3 tables occupied. We waited 45 minutes for food, I was anticipating awesome, therefore it was gonna be worth the wait. Nope, ordered the Irish breakfast, the sausage was so over cooked my knife couldn’t even saw through it, same with the Irish bacon and blood pudding. Ordered soft poached eggs, delivered hard as golf balls!!!! My moms clam chowder was tasteless, no wait, it did taste like corn starch and water. We got up, offered to pay for our tea, waitress was sweet and apologized, didn’t charge us anything. Sorry guys... epic fail at the Five Corners Cafe!

What a nice bunch of people and great little place with a lot of character. First time trying this place and I was impressed. They had made a mistake with one of my orders and were nice enough to let me keep the extra food. Im glad they did because the extra eggs Benedict was some of the best I had and the hash browns were delicious. I will definitely be back here for more soon.

I came here because of the HIGH ratings, and what's better than being an American inside an American restaurant in Canada, right? First of all, decor was excellent. I'm a photographer, and I had no idea that this place is covered in portraits and old cameras. I basically checked out everything in the restaurant while waiting for my food. The service though, not so great. I ordered a coffee to start, which was super bland and tasteless. Then I ordered a vanilla milkshake, which had way too much milk and was watered down and had no taste of vanilla. I wanted to ask for water, but neither of the servers paid attention to me. Worst of all, they never checked on me to refill the coffee or to ask how the food was. As for the food, I had the shrimp melt. It was one of the more expensive items on their menu, and surprisingly, they used Kraft cheese. In case you didn't know, Kraft cheese is "fake" cheese, so you'd want to look it up to see what it actually is. Side note - this restaurant is cash only.

This place is legendary! I hope it's in business forever. Cozy retro atmosphere, good breakfast food with decent pricing, lovely staff. Great place to visit when you're too lazy / tired / hungover to fix your own breakfast. Just remember to bring cash as they don't accept any other forms of payment. That being said, I would love to see more veg options on the menu. I know breakfast joints are not generally known for vegetarian or vegan options - and I get that - but I would visit more often if there were a few additional choices.

Absolutely wonderful, cozy, welcoming place for a Sunday brunch!! The owner and her daughter are very personable and kind, and always pleasant. Food is equally amazing, and their coffee is great! Looking forward to our next brunch at Five Corners!!!

A very simple and quaint diner offering all-day breakfast as well as brunch choices at great prices! The staff greet you with a smile - the service is second to none. The breakfast is deliciously homemade with a vintage and comfortable environment. First time visiting White Rock and Five Corners; I absolutely recommend this place!

Very disappointed with the service, went in on a Sunday morning; place wasn't busy. Waited over 45mins for food to arrive, tables seated and ordered after us recieved their food before us. No one stopped by to inform us of any delays which would have been nice instead they pretty much ignored us. This was my first time here and maybe my last ****** response ****** By your logic in your response to me, our table would have had our food alot sooner since we were a table of two. Your response was filled with excuses, the service was lack luster at best. I will not be coming to your restaurant ever again and will tell all my friends to not to go there.

Great little family run restaurant! It was busy so we sat at the booth, service was excellent. Food was homemade and tasty. My dad and I both had an omelette with the shredded hashbrowns. I also hear the milkshakes are really good.. I'll be getting one of those next time! Highly recommend.

Went here for breakfast. I ordered the farmers hash. It was really good. The veggies were big and fresh, and the flavor was great. My husband had the eggs Benedict and that wasn't great. It tasted very buttery. It wasn't the hollandaise sauce, I believe the English muffin was buttered, and that really took away from the flavor. The hash browns were flavourless, but definitely fresh. The chunk potatoes were very good. The sausages were great. Service was fast and friendly. We would definitely go back, just no eggs Benedict for us. Looking forward to trying more things on their big menu.
