Great service and I was definitely more than pleased on how my dog was groomed. Well priced and came with a free nail trim with my grooming purchase, and was all $55 in total which was a great deal!!! I would definitely recommend to anyone with a dog or a cat!

I honestly love this pet store so much. It is a smaller little store with such friendly and helpful staff that make you feel welcomed in the store. They know what they are talking about and will help you with any questions you have regarding the animals they sell. The animals aren't at all kept like bigger pet stores, they are in proper cages, given the freedom to run around (they have a little play area for them) and they are also allowed to interact with customers and given the chance to stretch their wings. The fish seem happy and lively unlike other pet stores where they just sit around looking dead, these fish swim around showing off their colours and they seem truly happy to be alive compared to fish at other stores. On top of all this greatness offered at Critters, their prices are not obscene. They are well priced and I am never disappointed with the quality of service or product. Keep up the good work!

Bad!! Said it would be 2 hrs. I went back in 2 hrs and my girl was in a cage .not even done yet other than shampooed The y then started the clipping which was done in 15minutes Horribly uneven and nails weren’t clipped I wish I hadn’t paid Imagine my girl being left in a cage for 2!hrs

Took my little puggy Simba here for a nail trimming, as his nails were wayy overdue for a trimming. The staff were very nice, and took Simba in right away. Very clean interior, and the most important thing was that the staff seemed to love what they are doing. That makes a big difference in both the atmosphere and ambience of a shop. Thanks again guys!

This place doesn't warn you ahead of time, so after your pet has been groomed and/or had another service done, they let you know that they only take cash or e-transfer, even though they have a debit machine available. Super weird!! The first time, they said their "machine was down", which is fair enough. Thankfully I had the cash available. Not sure why they don't pre-warn people. The issue is that every other time since, we make sure to ask if their debit is working BEFORE we hand our dog over, and every single time since, they say they don't accept debit in spite of the visible debit machine. Something weird is 100% going on with this place.

I took my two cats here today and the staff were unbelievably amazing with them. My kittens can be very nervous clients but Diane and her team were so kind and patient with them. They are Himalayan so they have very long fur and have a tendency to matting. The team took care of all of those issues as well as nail clipping, bathing and blow drying. What a lovely spa day my babies had!! I highly recommend Diane and her team without hesitation. Thankyou to all of you ❤️

I have always gone here but no more, I picked up my dog after his cut and he had 2 spots right down to his skin, looked like they burnt him. I had to go to vet to ensure it didn't get infected. Cost me over $100.00 for the vet bill, luckily it was not infected. However, they did not even mention it, I noticed it when petting him - you couldn't see it right away cause his ears covered the neck burn. One cleared up in about 4 weeks the other circle the size of a looney will never have hair growing over.

Diane and her team are absolutely amazing, our boy had been in the vet and had needed an open end Catheter, he'd been through alot and though I've bathed him many a time prior to this I thought the trauma of being in the vet to only go home and be bathed would be too much, I wanted him to go home to pure relaxation and sanctuary. It was NOT easy finding a groomer that would bathe a cat, I was surprised how hard it was, but when I called into Critters and Friends they didn't even bat an eye, they set an appointment for me and took him in no problem, I did stay so that he could here my voice to keep him calmer, but he did so good and Diane was so caring and compassionate with him, she was extremely empathetic and understanding to my situation. He came out sooo clean and fluffy, and smelt amazing. I will definitely use them again in the future and refer them to anyone with grooming needs! Below is a photo of him at the vet prior to discharge and the other is after getting groomed and all fluffy and comfy at home.

I live right nearby and thought I'd try Critters and Friends out. They are primarily a grooming place, so I figured they couldn't be any better/worse than Petsmart. Besides, it was $70 for complete care compared to Petsmart's $120. What a mistake this was! The owner, although very contrite about the whole ordeal, wasn't the groomer on this day. The problem was the complete ineptitude and unmitigated incompetence of the groomer. In the photos you can see that she literally cut him so hard with the clippers that he was bleeding (and in so much pain back at home). You have to be screwing with me that a groomer doesn't know when they've clipped skin? I mean, I'm sure Rook (my dog) winced or yelped, so then not only did this happen to one ear, but to then do the exact same to the other? Really? I thought his excitement to see me when I picked him up was simply his wistful exuberance, but it was probably his relief and excitement at getting out of there. Additionally, the grooming was third rate at best. In the photo you can see how one leg is trimmed while the other is long. As well, the flowing curly hairs on his haunches, which I wanted kept, were shaved off (very poorly done, I might add). Not only would I not recommend Critters and Friends for pet grooming, but if you find yourself having to use their services, then please ask for a groomer other than the one who butchered my poor Rook. Look at his face, who could honestly do such terrible things to such a wonderful animal.

I take my long haired tabby here to get a lion cut 2 times a year and the woman does an AMAZING job with him. She is the best and is so good with him. I drive from Vancouver. Her pricing is very reasonable.

My little Rocky is a regular at Critters and Friends. It's pretty much his second home ( lol ) and this is because Diane ( the owner ) and her staff provide a great and caring atmosphere. Her knowledge and attentiveness is unlike any other place. Rocky also boards with her and her family a few times a year and they take wonderful care of him. The lady who works there is amazing, so nice and informative! I've come in the store with my fiancé many times to just browse and the staff is always very helpful. I like that they bring their own pets to socialize with the animals for sale and they often let the birds out of their cages to stretch their wings (many stores would never do this because the animals could get away, however they seem very well-trained). You can pet the animals and hold them and that really gives you an idea of the personality of the pet before you buy it. Lastly they have an amazing stock of new pets all the time-- it's not like going to petsmart where they have the same 14 hamsters sitting under little domes in miserable conditions with little kids smacking their cages around for a reaction. this is genuinely one of the best pet stores i've been to and i'm definitely buying my first ferret (and supplies) from these guys!!! will be a returning customer :) Bravo!

Our dogs love coming to the store. They come back looking fabulous. The customer service that we receive is more then we have ever gotten from any other pet store or grooming shop. I have watched how the dogs are worked on and they are treated with lots of love. To a messege I seen earlier on this site. All grooming shops that I have been to, there is a series of transitions. First pre shave, then wash the dogs, then a dryer is put on them to take major water off. Then placed in kenell with dryer through kernel door to keep them drying, till they are out on the table for the finishing drying period. Then brushed and clipped. the staff always go out of there way for us to see that we are happy with our service, and let us know if there was concerns that may have happened during grooming. I can't even imagine how hard it is to physically be working with the dogs.

It was great that we got our dog in so quickly. But we are less than pleased with the results. Tail too short, ears too short, paws not trimmed and spots missed. We will admit that our dog was recovering from eye infections and may not have been very cooperative. We have not had issues with other groomers. We are not likely to go back.

I recently moved into the area and it is not always easy to find a cat groomer. In the past I have had to juggle appointments with my cat and dog with many places only having limited cat appointment times. However, they were most accommodating and took them both at the same time! I really appreciated that and will definitely be back. My wee beasts came out looking quaffed and happy.

Quality of grooming job varies wildly depending on the day. Some days my dog comes home looking as she should, or we get her back with dried blood caked on her nails from being clipped too short or the fur on her tail looking like it was hacked off in a straight line. I used to wonder why my dog's fur would stick out in strange directions after grooming sometimes, then found out they don't properly blow dry dogs and in stead toss them in the kennel and point a dryer in through the door.

I admit my dog is not an easy dog. She is large dog and due to some fear issues she is reactive. Having her nails trimmed has been a big ordeal at the vet or anywhere else. I was able to bring her in on short notice and Debbie trimmed all her nails in amazing short time. It was a breeze! Bella didn’t even squirm or yelp. I am sooo happy. Thank you!

What a nice find! On the way to the water promenade, and right in middle of nice neighbourhood of nice homes (of course, it's White Rock)... Lots of kittens ready for adoption, as per pic. Ask for Dianne, she's very friendly and patient. Got to be if you're grooming dogs too. Will be moving nearby within a few months.

I was grateful I could get a fast appointment from this store to groom our dog just before mothers' day weekend. When I get the dog back, i noticed he walked unnaturally. I picked him up to check: four nails are bleeding! What the hell. If one nail is cut to bleed, it is awful but still an understandable accident, but FOUR nails?! This is ridiculous.
