This is one of my favourite places to get lunch in Welland. I find that the staff in this location is always friendly and on top of things. We always take advantage of the Wednesday fish and chips special because of the generous size of the fish and enough fries that you can't complain about. Rating the Wednesday special, I would definate give it a 4/5. Great bang for your buck. I wanted to mention there hamburger lunch special. I appreciate that they have this on their menu since I have a picky eater and does not do well with fish.You can't get a better burger and fresh cut fries for that price anywhere. I have read through all of the reviews that was posted and would like to respond to some of them. There was no time that I saw the staff neglecting customers, or just chatting with each other. I saw a high pace store where the phone was ringing constantly and staff taking phone orders and informing the cook. Food was never sitting waiting. The fish and fries was being done fresh. Only pickup orders were sitting for pickup. For customers that walked in, they where waiting for their order to be made fresh. In the numerous times when I have walked in, I did have to wait on average of 10 mins (due to volume) for my order to be prepared. I did witness one mix up in a customers order, but this happened due to an influx of phone orders, and walk in customers flooding the staff. To her credit. She quickly ensured that orders where corrected. It meant an extra five minutes for my order, but for that fish, it was worth it. The store was always clean and during quiet times, I saw staff preparing for the next run on the store by prepping cultlery, folding boxes, and getting paper ready for wrapping. If there is anyway that the wait times could be fine tuned... that would be a great help.

Fish was crispy and freah, but just a hint/tip. Try seasoning your food. For the price of 8 fish and some chips it should at least be seasoned. It was the blandest fish and chips I've ever eaten. Also your employees shouldn't be asking for tips.

I ordered through skip the dishes tonight and I was missing 3 items. I think that's a lot and I called them and told them that I had left a 5 star review a couple months ago, but lately I have been missing things. They didn't send my 3 missing items. All they could do was say that I would have to call them the next time I ordered skip and see if that helps. I will no longer order from here again. I was so disappointed. No rice. No coleslaw and no lemon wedges for my fish and I LOVE lemon wedges. They were missing the last time too. How would you like fries with no ketchup? That's how we felt with all this fish and no lemon. Giving my business back to Sue's. They were on vacation and I tried this place. Mistakes happen..

We tried out their $5 Wednesday fish and chip special and very much enjoyed it. Huge amount of fries so we had leftovers the next couple days with 3 specials haha. But the fish isn’t too greasy (it is deep fried, so obviously it’s got some) and just great batter and taste. We were very happy and will be ordering again!

Food is great, I've never had a bad meal from them, BUT! The service is sub par! Poorly organized. I had phoned in take out order. I was paying with cash. I still had to wait a half an hour after my order was supposed to be ready, to which she tried to blame the debit machine even though I was paying cash. I was also told to bring cash! over the phone when I placed my order. Because of the lack of organization skills, I came home to a lukewarm meal. I live within walking distance. Their counter top was full of orders. I'm not the only one that a cold meal tonight.

Went in today for haddock and chips. Great fish, but had to agree with some of the other reviews on the fries. They were bland and soggy. I’ll definitely give them another try, but I’ll ask if they’ve improved on the fries before placing the order. That being said, I’d give the fish five stars.

Had a young gentlemen serv me today. I ordered to halibut dinners. He had 2 orders lined up both with the same name. I never ordered from here before. He said 2 Wednesday specials? And I said oh I wasn't aware that the halibut was your Wednesday special. He was not polite, I mean it was busy and could easily tell he was frustrated however I work in fast food myself and know what he's dealing with but I feel like he dealt with it wrong, someone outside asked how long his order may take and the young man answered but as we walked into the store he was sighing and shaking his head... He didn't want to speak very much. I asked why the order was so cheap and he just quickly said it's the Wednesday special, he never clarified what a Wednesday special is, again I've never been here. Wednesday special Is Pollock, I ordered halibut. The man was rude and the customer service was horrible, the fries were cold and I got the wrong order. Not very happy

Placed an order on March 31 at 7:11 pm for the upcoming Good Friday. Employee took my order and gave me a pick up time of 5:35 pm. Went to pick the order up and as expected they were busy. With the current situation, I understood only letting one person in at a time to pick up and pay for their order. I waited for my name to be called and after being there for 20-25 mins without being called I asked the person working the door how long it would be for my order. I gave her my name and she came back and said there was no such order. I gave her my phone number and also what the order was, she came back again and said there was no such order. She then asked if I was sure I called the right business and I said yes. She then asked if I called the right location, I said yes. I found the time and day in my call log and was told "how do I know you placed an order that day?" REALLY? I came with a specific time, I'm sure I didn't make that up. And honestly to have that said to me is not good customer service. When I was looking for some sort of fix to this, I was told I would have to call and place an order and that the current pick up time was now 8:20...almost 3 hours later than my original order. This was an error on YOUR end and instead of trying to make good on it, you might as well have just called me a liar. I will add that it wasn't a big order, 3 piece haddock and fries and an order of pickles - just a bit over $30 so they could have fixed it. All their orders were behind at this point anyway. I will not order from here again because of the lack of customer service. I will note, reading the reviews here, any time there is a negative review, the person responding turns it around on the reviewer, taking very little ownership of the issue. I've been in customer service my whole life with a huge chunk of it at a management level. Never would I respond the way this business does to negative reviews!! You thank the customer for their review and for the opportunity to learn and grow...that's it. You not only have lost MY business but I will be sure to let all my friends and family know how I was treated and you will lose their business as well. I would rather go out of town if it came down to it, before I would order from you again.

Worst Fish and chips I've ever had. Fries are not fresh cut, they are Cavendish bagged fries. Food was under cooked nearly raw. Best part was I got my money back without question. I'll add; this visit was on Good Friday, I ordered $90 in food, for the staff this may help you to remember. I did this with much respect, as to not discourage the customers that were in the store waiting for food.

There's nothing like a good fish & chip dinner and this restaurant has some of the best in Welland. Large portions at low prices and pretty quick service too. The St. Catharines and Beamsville locations are just as good but Welland is my go-to spot because it's close to home.

First time having fish & chips in years, been having a craving for it lately and decided to try this place. Glad I did! Very kind & friendly service, even on a busy Friday night the staff were polite and upbeat. Great portion sizes, order was hot when I got home even though I was late picking up. Super yummy, I'll definitely be back! Another commenter was upset about the staff asking for tips, but I'm happy to tip whenever I buy food, even for take out. Standard courtesy! ????❣️

Friendly service can only go so far. The food takes too long and you get a nice view into the kitchen of the staff standing around talking instead of working on your order. The ice cream is freezer burned and portions are dependant on who serves you. We went in and we're served by two employees. One gave us massive scoops while the other gave us much smaller ones. As they were handing us the last cone, some of the ice cream fell off the cone and onto the ground. They didn't even offer to replace the scoop of ice cream they just lost us. 2/5 because friendly faces and decent prices are not enough for a business to encourage repeat visits. Quality and time matter just as much.

There was black hair about an inch long in my tartar sauce, at the St. CATHARINES location. The staff including Rachel, and Julie say one thing, and do the complete opposite to their customers. Poor service with customers, always changing the tartar sauce with zero consistency when it comes to products. The staff like to blame everyone else and not take responsibility. After asking for the owner to call the customer, the manager Julie from the wetland location berated myself on the phone. Accused myself of there packaging error. Its quite disturbing and disgusting how they treat there paying customers. Would never eat food or receive service from these locations.

Please just give a proper wait time for an order. I understand that when it’s busy it’s tough since I am also a kitchen manager. But waiting 45 min past my wait time that was said is annoying. Been here a few times when it’s not busy and it seems like they always say 20 min no matter how busy it is. Other then the wait it’s great food. EDIT: Also looking on the previous reviews, replying only to the bad reviews to clarify your own point of view of doesn’t seem like an effective way to keep customers coming into the store.

Today my family and I tried Beamsville Fish and Chips for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and freshness of the food. The fish pieces were thick and meaty, the fries were light, crisp, and cut to the perfect thickness. Even the gravy was exceptionally good. I would MORE THAN RECOMMEND this establishment for wonderful fish and chips dinner. Enjoy.....it's great! ????

Had Beamsville fish and chips, Welland location for the first time tonight. Very very tasty. Haddock was very plentiful with a crispy batter. Fries were well cooked. Not sure why there isn’t more positive reviews for this hidden gem. Price,Quantity, Quality, Coleslaw, tarter sauce and lots of malt vinegar makes this place the total package. Will be back for sure. Thank you Beamsville fish and chips for a delicious meal.

Wow, worst customer service eeever. I ordered 8 piece fish and chips and a hamburger and fries over the phone for pick up. When I got home there were no fries with the fish. When I drove back I got the fries the staff offered no apology, nothing but here you go. When I returned home to my cold fish and warm fries I was to angry to notice anything but cold greasy fish.

Been ordering there for the last five years. Never again!!! Only received half my order to start. They would not replace the whole order so our family could eat at the same time. So i had to wait another 20 minutes for mine and apparently i got the child size. And when i called back i had to listen to some 16 year old who wouldn’t let me get a word in edge wise. Apparently there was no management on site. Never ordering there again

We have been loyal Beamsville Fish and Chips clients for roughly 3 years.... EVERY... SUNDAY... NIGHT!!! unless they are closed. Always order a 3 piece Haddock and Fries (this is the 3 pc we received last Sunday). We have always throughly enjoyed our meals there and would always recommend them. The past few weeks the fish has been horrible compared to what we have come to expect. Chips are always on point so cannot complain about them, but the fish portions have been 1/2 the size that we usually get and it is dry. You will notice that it is on a baking sheet as we have always heated them up after the kids have gone to bed and have never had a problem. We contacted them through messenger, and we did receive an instant response and it started out very positive as we were really only wanting them to know that their product was not meeting their normal standards. She asked us for the order and how we had paid so she could fix it the next day. I gave her the information and let her know that I had also added a tip as we always do for the kids working there. Her final question was what temperature did you heat it at? I told her that this was right out of the box and that we were not looking for a refund just to let them know incase they had changed recipes, suppliers, cooks, etc..... NO RESPONSE after that. Yes the food was disappointing for the last few weeks..... but customer service is more disappointing at this point. Now on the hunt for a new fish and chip joint. Edit: After the response to this review : yes it was 11:18pm SUNDAY NIGHT... it is now Thursday night at 9:21pm (and only heard something back because I did a google review 1 hour ago) ... a simple message back to that interaction " thank you for your feed back and we will make sure to check into this" Maybe, "we appreciate your feedback... Feedback only makes us better."... I don't know something would have been nice.... after my last comment on messenger? Radio silence! I was trying to be nice in my interaction with you as messages (constructive criticism) are always received that way better. Also, that was the reason to message you privately. I truly do not complain about much... so I was trying to let you know nicely. But apparently (as i have seen on previous reviews) you only seem to respond to negative reviews....It's a shame... I can post the whole message, you have seemed to cherry pick the message. "May I find out the order and how you paid so I can track this order down and get this fixed tomorrow". AGAIN, A simply response to our initial correspondence would have sufficed and I would have left it at that.

I have been ordering from the Welland location for 5 years. I was disappointed when I got home with my takeout order. The haddock portions were smaller than normal and quite oily. White vinegar instead of malt. I will order again in the future though. May have been an off day. Everyone who works there is always polite and great service.

We always get F&C from Sue's but Sue was on (a very well deserved) vacation. So we got take out from Beamsville F&C. It was, by comparison, pretty awful. The fries were soggy (oil probably not hot enough), the fried clams were rubbery and had a nasty fishy taste and the fish was thin and tasteless. We will never go there again.

I went there to pick up some food the guy in the back was not even wearing a mask while cooking the food or a hair net the food took 25 minutes to get even though it takes minutes to cook fish I would not recommend their cook and staff as they were also rude It's very true and it was the guy in the back cooking fish that didint have a mask on and go ahead look at your camera having a mask on your chin is not having it on so yes my statement is very true you need to understand that I was there I seen it....

This is by far the best fish and chips I've ever had. The batter is spectacular, it stays crisp and light even after the fish goes cold, and it isn't too greasy either. The portions are very generous. I always treat myself to the halibut and chips, never without the tartar sauce, it's great too. The store is run efficiently, I've never been overcharged or given a wrong order. The kitchen is smaller but it runs like a well oiled machine and there is always a plethora of people cooking at once. It's always very busy and I've waited through substantial line ups around dinner time. It's worth the wait.

We ordered from here pretty much every week and it was delicious. Now the last three times it has been hardly edible. The fish is so overcooked there is no fish, just batter. Cant even chew it. Called them and told them how bad our last order was and please dont overcook it this time. Guess what, overcooked again. We decided to try one more time. It was terrible, even the fries were overcooked. I took the whole works back and told them. They made us a whole new order. The fries were even worse, overcooked and cold this time. The fish was was still overcooked and pretty much empty batter. No more!!!! We would spend 50.00 a week and couldnt eat it!!!!!!!!! According to these reviews it looks like we are not the only people who dont like the burnt fish and empty batter!!!!!!

Yesterday my family decided to get the lunch special Hamburger and Small Chips My husband went there at 20 after 3. he wound up waiting till 4:30 before he got them. not only where they slow but they also made him wait for others who came in after him. If thats not bad enough. The fries were over cooked, and they also charged him full price for them instead of the special price.

Normally we get fish & chips every Friday from here. Tonight I decided to have just shrimp. What a disappointment. We ordered one 2 piece haddock dinner and ordered jumbo shrimp no fries. When the order was up the girl noticed they had put fries in the order of shrimp. Their mistake. So they sent the order back to the kitchen and said they were going to remake the order. They then came out to say they didn’t have any more shrimp. We had asked why they didn’t just take out the fries. So they did. When we got home and opened the box I was horrified. There were not “jumbo shrimp “ but about 18 tiny dried up shrimp. They took $1.00 off the order for the removal of the fries. The fish dinner had two small pieces of fish and not up to par. Our bill was $29.60 for this horrible dinner. Beamsville Fish and chip will now be removed from our Friday fish dinners. Such a disappointment and letdown! This is not the first time they prepared our order wrong but I know they can be busy. Tonight was the last straw. Staff not organized and they really don’t care.
