My boyfriend did one of their drop in dives a couple weekends ago and really enjoyed it. I was impressed with the price of rental equipment and the fact that the dive itself is free. The staff was really good and knowledgeable. He'd do another one of their dives if we're ever back visiting Victoria!

Rockfish Divers are AMAZING. They went out of their way in all ways- in comfort, in flexibility, and in teaching the skills. Plus they were great fun. Alisa and Tyler are very friendly, and Tyler was a great teacher, very knowledgable, and calm. Nic was are teacher for all of the pool classes, and the first two Open Water dives- he was wonderful- a natural teacher, very attentive, and clear with his instructions. I look forward to doing more dives with them in the future- and will definitely recommend them to anyone who may be looking for training, or just wanting to connect with a local dive shop. Three of us took the "Discover Scuba Diving" course (Mum and 2 kids). From the first contact with Rockfish to the actual lesson, it couldn't have been better! The instructor was patient and gave clear explanations, yet made it fun. We highly recommend Rockfish to anyone who is just starting out.

I just finished my Open Water course with Rockfish Divers. It was a wonderful experience through and through. The staff are awesome and make you feel so comfortable that you forget that you're learning such an intense sport. I'm very much looking forward to signing up for another course. If you are reading this and are on the fence about whether or not to a) scuba dive, or b) choose Rockfish divers to start diving with, I highly encourage you to go for it on both accounts. Have fun!

A really well run dive shop. They allowed us to join with an AOW course group for a night dive, and our DM Tori was excellent, helping us to find an octopus on the dive. We also did their Sunday morning shore dive. It was really well run and a great experience. Their rental prices are a bit higher than what I found in Nanaimo, but I can accept that for the great service.

Upon my return from Maui I decided I wanted to do the open water course, i called the Monday after my return and was able to begin my course the next day! The course was great lots of pool time to learn and great instruction, and with two great locations for the open water dives who needs Maui (its better here!). after a ton of help with advice on gear and what you may require down the road they got me what i needed to get out there. the shop has great selection and prices. i have been on two of the Sunday dives so far which have been great, and I'm looking forward to more.And of cant wait to do more courses with Rockfish soon!

Very friendly! Originally, was going to buy a pair of fins online but trying to figure out the sizing was difficult. After trying on a few at the shop I realized how likely it would not have worked out if i had purchased online. Shape of feet fit differently for different fins and after trying on a few and becoming more educated on what i should look for, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Went on a 2 dive excursion with them in August 2014. The equipment we rented was in great shape and the dive master was good - knowledgable about the area and patient with us "baby divers". But we only managed to get one dive in before the boat broke down. The boat engine battery was dead and wouldn't start. The backup motor was also dead, and the backup battery that supposedly lived in the cabin was missing. We ended up being tugged back to shore by the Butchart Gardens tour boat. We made it back to shore about 4 hours after setting out - the Rockfish staff insisted they just needed to charge it, but it didn't sound promising. They did refund our money for the second dive, but I would never have spent money on gear rental and a single dive, so I was not a happy camper. They aren't bad, but I would recommend checking on the condition of the boat before heading out with them.
