Ordered a bacon cheeseburger platter. The patty was extremely small. It didn't even cover the bottom bun. Only one slice of bacon. Fries and gravy was decent. Would not recommend and will not be going there again.

This is one of the most popular "greasy spoon" restaurants in St. John's. I have only had the breakfast options here and have no complaints about them! Service was quick and friendly.

The fries used to be good but not lately. The last three times the fries were pale and barely cooked. They used to be mahogany brown and delicious. The last time I made a special request to have my food well done but the fries were paler then ever. Not sure what's going on there.

My first time trying to order from Scamper's Snack Bar- no one picked up the phone and I couldn't leave a message. I stopped by and an employer came out as they have only curb side pick up . I asked if he could take my order and he said no you have to call to make your order. This restaurant is receiving a lot of busine$$, can plan, have better customer service and more staff to accommodate the demand from customers.

Very homely feel. I got the chicken instead of the fish, and it was different from the rest of the fried chicken in the city. Half chicken with a healthy amount of fries came to $14. And it was delicious. Highly recommended.

Over the years I have visited this place so often. And when I lived in the downtown area it was often a place that I would go to for a little snack throughout the week. And because I did not have a car, I was never really concerned about the parking. The food is good and inexpensive. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the place is perfectly situated for me.

Restaraunt is clean. Does not smell like a greesy spoon. Respectful staff when they greet /speak with you. Food delicious. The price of 2 piece fish/chips is the best in St . John's & area. The least expensive of all restaraunts I have eaten at. Constant flow of patrons though not bunching up at the door. Staff & patrons courteous with each other. Friendly atmosphere.

Went there for dinner and left within 1 minute. Asked for fish and chips, dressing and gravy (wanted poutine but they don't offer that...) and asked for the fish to be on a separate plate. They declined, so I followed suit and left. A single take out plate is too much for them I guess. I have never had this issue anywhere else and quite frankly, if I could give 0 stars, that's what I would give. So much for customer service. I thought the reviews on Facebook were exaggerated, I was mistaken. If this is how they react to customers, they'll end up closed soon enough. My suggestion, Tiny's across town, great food and service.

I went there with my family today being Good Friday and all and ever since we got home we have been sick. I knew the fish tasted off a bit but just thought it was just me. Now I can't even get through line as been busy all day don't know if they got it off the hook. I hope someone do see this and respond. No shrimp, no scallops available for the Fisherman's platter. Just got the fish and chips. Good otherwise. Not really recommended for family night out. Breakfast is only served for one hour, starting at 11am. Wow!

One of the best choices for Fish and Chips in St John’s. I eat here on the regular, have never once been served a plate of food I wasn’t happy with. Truck stop/greasy spoon diner feel to the place with two dining areas and a serving counter with stools.

I just finished my meal and it was one of the best hamburger platters I have had in a long time. The employees are friendly and always greet you with a smile. My meal was delivered in less than seven minutes and always cooked to perfection. The boats that are displayed are built by my grandfather and I always enjoy looking at them while eating. All in all if you are ever in St.John's Newfoundland you gotta eat here.

If you want fast & I mean fast service and a delicious meal then Scampers is the place to go, we had battered fish and chips and I must say it was Par Excellence. Could not have picked a better place. The staff is friendly and courteous, your meal is served with a smile and you are checked on a regular basis to see if all is OK.
