I love Pet City. Honestly, it's probably the greater of the shopping experience(s) I have ever recieved in my years of living. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and are always very willing to educate/teach the customer the value in healthier and new products. Every question i have ever asked has been answered either immediately from the person serving me, or the owner who's usually not too far. Another thing that is so important and really deserves a mention, is the way they immediately acknowledge the customer upon arrival. As soon as you enter the store you are greeted with a friendly vibe and asked if you need help. Other businesses should really take a lesson from their business practices and their standard of service. Phenomenal!! ????????

A large selection of a wide range of pet products that you can't find at other pet stores or Walmart. They often have a selection of exotic pets as well. Some employees are exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. The store often has great displays of beautiful setups. I have been shopping here for over 30 years and will continue. Best pet shop I have ever shopped in and I've been to dozens.

PLEASE do not get your pets from here. I purchased my leatherback bearded dragon from here and she was extremely sick. I did not think she was going to make it the first week I got her. She was extremely under fed and under weight and she was also extremely dehydrated. The lady that sold her to me didnt give me any information on her and couldn't answer any of my questions. I recently went to pet smart and out of curiosity I showed them pictures of my bearded dragon the first day I got her(about 2 months ago now) and they said she looked really sick and extremely underweight. They said they have never seen a bearded dragon that looks so small or sick before. So please never buy your pets from here.

I drive 25 minutes to get here because the staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. I can ask lots of questions and be given knowledgeable answers. We purchased our first Ball python here and Liam was super helpful and patient. You could tell he was very committed to making sure their animals go to good homes.

Pet City has been my trusted pet store for many years now. They have excellent staff who are very knowledgeable and friendly. They're aquariums have a great reputation amongst the local fish keeping community, and they're frequent member points system is definitely an added bonus ( points rack up fairly quickly, if you are someone like me, and you frequent the pet store on a monthly basis, this is something you should definitely ask about! )

I think the staff are great. The owner genuinely cares about the health of the animals he sells and is very cautious before selling, to ensure the health of the pet you are bringing home. I have had ONLY fantastic experience with this pet store and find the staff to be knowledgeable and friendly. It is one of the last privately owned pet supply stores in St. john's and you get the service you would expect to get. Sure things happen (I've read the other reviews) but I haven't experienced such problems. You really shouldn't bring home an animal until you've done your own research on them. You should't expect to know evrything you ned to know from a half an hour conversation. I will continue to shop there and encourage anyone else to as well.

My initial trip to the store was okay, but once I started looking more closely at the animal enclosures I because disgusted. Some of the fish tanks are kept in good condition (mostly the saltwater ones) yet most are absolutely terrible in condition and far too small for the number of fish in them, even for a pet store. Reptiles (some) and birds are also kept in poor and crowded conditions for them, though I know far less about their husbandry. I took a look at some of the fish tanks and was looking for a small cory or two and there were dead cories sunk on the bottom of the tank. Dead and sick fishes were far too common and the tanks completely overrun by algae and poop. Yeah, no thanks. Only positive was the nice young man who assisted me, and told me about similar experiences. Go to Aquarium 101 for the love of fishes everywhere.

Few months ago, had a hatian brown on pebbles and under a heat lamp with no water in the dish; had all it's back hairs singed or kicked off and seemed to be malnourished. I bought it on the spot to save him from living like that and it's fine now. Warned them about how rough handling was bad for a semi-agressive species but nothing changed with care or handling. Went in there to see if anything has changed today and they have yet another haitian brown under the same conditions, looks as if it will enter curl soon. Also, 7 budgies in one tiny cage is very bad as well. All the animals in this store besides the fish and rodents look miserable.

Actually the worst place to buy an animal. Bought a chinchilla. Hes having heat strokes ever since he left. I had one for years and never got like this And i got a long drive and afraid to take him home and they told me i would be able to get a cash refund before i bought him. And called in and they wont do one thing to help me. Im stuck with him now and chances are he might die and they couldnt care less. They lied to me and dont seem to care much about there animals. And yet i got a 7 day warranty but they wont help me. I suggest not buying anything from here!! Absolutly rediculious!

I had a wonderful experience here! The employees were so engaged in their animals and excited to talk about them and answer any questions that I had with detailed explanations. They were also very patient when I was having trouble choosing between two birds! They had a fantastic variety of reptiles, birds and small pets and an assortment of products for all pets. While it can be a little expensive, it is a great idea to buy local and support your community. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back here in the future!
