I've never been to this store as it's an hour's drive to Simcoe. Being a smaller community the store is pretty small but they manage to cram in a lot of merchandise for most needs. I needed some pressure treated 1" x 6" x 8' boards for a home project but during this covid-19 crisis wood of all types is hard to come buy at local big supply stores like Lowe's and Home Depot. I searched on line for what I needed but Simcoe was the only store that had it. I called ahead which everyone should do and the gentleman on the phone made a quick check and they did have what I wanted, so off I went to get it. They got me out of a jam. Quick service and all the employees had dealt with were very friendly. A trip well spent. Kudos to Simcoe Rona.

I do not normally leave negative reviews and try to find at least something positive but this time it is not possible. The staff in this store are awful. Four different occasions I have been to this store and each were horrible experiences. Once when I asked someone for help the lady snickered, shook her head and said I can't help you I'm busy. Any of the staff that you speak to are extremely rude and no one is willing to help if you have questions. You can even hear the staff making rude comments to other customers in the store as you walk through the isles so I know this is clearly a common experience.

They have NO safety measures in place, I ordered and paid online waited for an email, and my husband went to pick it up. Nobody knew what they were doing, he was sent all, over the store nobody was social distancing!!! Finally he was told to go outside and someone would come,nope! He waited found the cleanest of the dirty wallboard and put it in his truck. Terrible customer service!! Never shop there again!!!

Zero communication between departments in this store. We come in after calling about specific items and being told yes they are in stock only to find out when in store they are not in stock. Always leave empty handed and frustrated. We have quit using this store altogether.

Currently is curbside pick up of online orders. Pretty efficient system in place with staff coming to your vehicle when you arrive and either bringing your item(s) to you or directing you to the yard for pickup.

Went in to purchase a washer and dryer today . Waited a few minutes at desk - had to go find someone - found approximately 8-10 people in uniform at service desk - which appeared to be a large chat - since it was after 10 am and I assume from your website your open at 8 am . Joshua’s the young man who asked what we needed - no hello - just what do you need - which model ? No customer service . I have to thank him . He turned me off so much I went to Leon’s and bought the same set and saved money ! Thanks ! Your customer service is horrendous on Sunday . ... you lost a big sale .

Awful customer service and return policy. Kitchen design 'specialist' Doreen Taylor is awful at her job. She is seldom there, and does not take into consideration personal taste and preference. I exhaustively explain concepts I wish to have in my kitchen, and she does not apply them to the blueprint causing for a painstakingly amount of revisions as she does not seem nearly invested in my project as a KITCHEN "SPECIALIST" should be. Highly recommend alternatives.

I went in here to buy paint for my bathroom floor I told the guy what I was doing I was painting plywood that had been previously painted in the past and I just wanted to go over it with a new color I definitely told him it was a bathroom floor he sold me paint saying that it would be fine for plywood that I didn't need a primer because it was already added in. I painted my bathroom floor close the door left the door closed for 2 days as a dried. Checked it it was still a little bit tacky so I added a fan in there left it in for another whole day then it was completely dry when I touched it within a week the paint was peeling. I called back and I actually spoke to the guy that sold me the paint his response was you'll have to call back when someone else was in the office because they were more familiar with the product and could tell me why it was happening and my response was so you mean to tell me you sold me a product that you weren't 100% sure of and now it's costing me money and he said yeah I'm sorry about that. Needless to say I'm not impressed with their paint department.

I was stunned today to watch a lumber yard associate scream and yell at a person for driving to where another associate had told him to pull to. He was derogatory, degrading and rude. When the person drove away without there product, the guy wandered around and kept trying to get my husband and other customers to laugh about the guy by continuing his rant. I will not return to this store given how they talk to customers and the types of profanity used on the lot.

I would agree with the first review that the staff are great......except for one. I waited 3 months for a price to redo my bathroom. I finally got only half a price after I told the salesman to get lost. He also quoted me $1243.42 for labor to install tile in my kitchen. Flooring Canada is doing it for $640.89. Helloooo.... I sent a complaint to head office, shredded my Rona card and will never shop there again.

Aweful and rude. Staff in the lumberyard outside scream and swear at people after another lumber yard worker has told them were to go to. Guy screamed at me for pulling a foot beyond the stop sign which apparently makes me "illiterate, stupid and a retard". I drove through, went in and asked for a refund. Excellent customer service! During l lockdown I needed a internet cable connector asap, I called CT to see if I can place the order and pick up same day, Nope. Apparently this small piece needs 24hrs! Called Rona and they told me to place the order and they'll get it ready asap. They called to make sure I got the right thing as well! Very good staff! They always take the time to explain and never make you feel rushed, no matter how busy they may be. Donna in the Paint Department is very knowledgeable and the guys outside in the drywall storage building have been more than helpful on at least 3 occasions. 1st time I Rented attic machine and had little to no customer service up until pick up of machine. They would not price match the material I had bought previously since it was direct from manufacturer. plywood lid they attached to machine had caught wind and flew off the truck and almost hit the windshield of vehicle behind me, no apology or accommodation for the frustration. 2nd rental of attic machine included the plywood lid which I took off myself. Machine broke down before I loaded the first bag. Again no customer service or accommodation for the trouble I was put through. Was then told that I was no longer allowed to use machine due to my own material use? Rona is single handedly the worst place to rent this machine and would absolutely never recommend their services of any kind after what I’ve been through. Crooks.

We try not to leave negative feedback but we want future shoppers to be aware how Rona works for items not kept in stock. Long story short- too many steps in their process left US calling multiple layers of people (store level, distribution centre, head office client complaint dept) to get 3 appliances 6 weeks later after delivery date changed by them 3 times and promo not capture at checkout so missed air miles. Offers of restitution were low and we would not have cared about compensation if we had dealt with clear communication and less layers of things to navigate. A lot of decent individuals along the way caught in a bad system. By contrast, we needed a washer/dryer replaced just following this experience and another retail outlet had one staff order appliances & book delivery of our purchase which we had in 3 days including a courtesy call to ensure all had gone as planned. Unbelievably efficient and professional. Without a significant overhaul to their processes, I regret to say I will not shop at Rona again for this kind of purchase.

Terrible customer service this morning. I bought some wood ,then went out to the yard and was told they didn’t have it. So I went back inside to get a refund. Refunds are usually payed back the same way you payed. So I had my card out. Then with out asking, the girl said she would do the return in cash. I said I would like it back on my card. She had to get someone to come over to fix her mistake. When leaving she sad “ have a nice day” then paused and in a lower voice said “ or maybe not”

Worst lumber store I've ever been to. Used the store in simcoe to build a deck. Crappy material, never have stock on common stuff and the return process is horrible. Take return to yard and get a slip. Take slip to customer counter get another slip. Go to cashier for money back. Don't waste your time, the time you wasted you could have drove to the city.

The staff in this store are so-o courteous and helpful. If they say ''So and so in that department handles that it's not like you're being handed off so much as the other staff is invited to be part of the decision making and problem solving. Staff exude a feeling of co-operation and looking out for your best interests. I prefer to shop as local as possible and for any home building supplies that I cannot get in my home town, I will always go to this Rona first. 5 well deserved stars.
