Great place to get filipino food and delicacies but can be pricey.
Experience based on food court only. Nothing worth traveling for. A little over priced for the quality of meats being used in their bbq. Friendly staff. Clean looking place. DO NOT come here if you can't eat pork. Lots of pork BBQ overlapping and surrounding chicken.
Over priced food court. And honestly they have nothing really when you compare it to others. Very disappointing
It's a filipino grocery store located in Toronto yup!!! Finally. My family and I have been waiting for this food store to open. Since the other seafood city is located in Brampton, it is a big help to those Filipinos especially living within the area and durham region to travel not that far anymore. 4 star because: Cons: * price is a bit high , only a few items are on sale weekly * staffs are new---they don't coordinate well enough, understandably for they're new with each other I presume. * not big enough compared in brampton and no Jollibee beside it. (it's nobody's fault but, it matters) * the set up for the ready made food lane is taking a lot of space. I'm sure this was planned out for covid reason but still, im sure there's a better and effective way than this. Pros: * eventhough the staffs are new, they are trained well and knowledgeable in what they do. Also , they are respectful to costumers. Not surprised with thia for many Filipinos are humble by nature. * must try turon!!! * parking space is okey * although smaller aisle, the place is clean and in order * cashiers helps with BAGGING!!! hope this review helps ????
Good!
(Translated) I put Best Before Dec.4, but Nov.30 is broken, I bought it Nov.27 .. I'll pay for work ... it's still expensive $ 4.99 (Original) Ang nkalagay Best Before Dec.4, pero Nov.30 sira na , binili ko po ito Nov.27.. babaunin ko sa work sana ...ang mahal pa nman $ 4.99
This is a super cool store to visit! It's not only a grocery store or a fish market or a fruit and veggie store It's also a fully functioning restaurant where you can go up and purchase full size family meals to go
Their pre pack meats are the worst. They ain't fresh. When we cooked it smells terrible. Not going back
It was so awesome but when I ordered food the first time I was so confused lol I didn't know how to order 1 piece and ways the selection is great and 90 % items are from the Philippines and there are some Korean items too. I love this place! Too bad there no halal food
First time visitor would go back
Great store to visit if you are Filipino, and even if you aren't you might find it interesting. There is a wide variety of nostalgic snacks and foodstuffs. Choc-nut, Chicharon, Ube cake, sweet spaghetti sauce, and whatever else you can think of. However, the prices for some things can be a little ridiculous, especially at the hot food counters. But you can't get this experience anywhere else in Canada so it is mostly worth it.
My first time visiting Seafood City and it was amazing..prices are reasonably cheaper
Place is well organized and the staff are friendly and very helpful
kinda small compare to missasauga branch ...though it is quite comfortable to do grocery ..they have also variety of asian dish mainly grilled bbq ..????????????????
It's ok. It's a decent Chinese grocery store that you can get lots of Asian groceries especially harder to find Asian items
Good place grocery and there they have good fish for reasonable price. Now they have opened philipino street food stall inside.
Many selections of Filipino food but i had a bad experience one time of buying expired product. It was replaced though.
Everything was nice and clean but very overpriced. Also found that the filipino sweets on the shelf have gone bad very disappointing
Freshly cook foods by Filipino store
Interesting new place. A little bit pricey. Great variety, bright and clean.
Good food!
Filipino food at its best. Good selections though bit pricey but where else can you find such treasure? Free parking and the store is very clean.
I bought 2 pcs of cleaned maya maya fish (previously frozen) on Saturday 2/6/21. My wife cooked it and smelled bad on the fish. She continued to cooked it well and added some vegetables stuff bought from the same store. We ate the cooked fish dish. Next day 2/7 until 2/8 we both had diarrhea. We tried calling the store but no one is picking up the phone (voice message is full - there’s SMS option hoping they will reply back). We waited for several hours but no one contacted me. We just want to ask the store if they have food safety program in place. Looks like the fish is in and out of the shelves!
Not convenient for me far from the bus stop
The ladies at the entrance door were so friendly. The place is clean and their pork bbq are so good. It taste like home.
I like the food court there. There are many selections. The food was good and the vegetables are fresh.
Moldy Spoiled Food. I purchased the "Assorted Mini Kakanin" on Feb 6th, and it had an expiry date of Feb 10th. However, it was already rancid and had mold growing on it which is disgusting to say the least. Extremely disappointed as this is a newly opened store but it seems like they are already being complacent when it comes to quality control. Unfortunately I would not recommend.
Our go-to place for anything Filipino food and groceries
Music Playlist: Christian songs ????
Best halo-halo. Lots of cook food choices
I love the fried calamari
I love this place especially the food court. There is a great selection of fast food restaurants to choose from. The service and price are always good. **highly recommended **
Prices are pretty expensive on selected product considering where the food is coming from. Really like the restaurants especially bbq skewers and fried porkchop
Everything is overprice.
The food is expensive and the name is deceiving. They don't specialize in Seafood. The pork skewers aka BBQ pork are priced at $5 a skewer. 4 in a pack. They are good but too expensive. I've read some of the reviews here and moldy food found in the food? There should be zero tolerance on the expiry dates.
Too expensive
Perfect Filipino cuisine and groceries
Best Filipino grocery in the country!
Its alright
Nice to a have a Filipino grocery nearby. Everything is well kept and organized. Love the prepared food area too. Lots to choose from to satisfy your filipino food craving!
Cleanest Asian Supermarket & their hot foods are delicious!
It's a good time coming here for the first time yesterday. They had a little patio where few people can eat. Food is as good as in Mississauga. The only missing is the Valerio Bakery, can't wait to have them add it.
Clean, with lots of variety. It looks a touch smaller than the mississauga location but still provides a nice assortment of products.
Situated at Ontario's Golden Mile, Seafood City Scarborough is THE destination for the Filipino diaspora in the area. Dubbed as The Filipino Town, it is the center of all the things Filipino, from the turo-turo style restaurant with their famous Filipino-style BBQ, the crispy Bagnet, and the tasty La Paz Batchoy to the palengke vibe of the seafood and meat department on the other side of the store. As a Pinoy tourist from Los Angeles, this is really a comfort zone at a new environment from me.
Good place to shop
Great selection, reasonably priced, friendly staff. What's not to love?! Masks required, and take out is not an issue. There's an area to dine in, but will require proof of vaccination & id.
Decent selection of foods. Super friendly employees. The hot foods/takeout restaurants are a lil pricey imo. $2.99 for turon. If you want silogs they're near the seafood department and it's only $4.50 so that's a plus.
Very expensive food... but yummy in my tummy
Wow feels like you are in a mall back in the Philippines. Ready-food stall is great !
It’s a small supermarket with a decent selection of products and vegetables. The seafood section was not as big as I expected but they carry some fish that …
Large well stocked mostly Asian grocery store, prices are high unfortunately.
It's a pretty good supermarket. However, there could be more variety and selection of food
Great grill and fried foods
(Translated) Filipino cuisine; big turon; like the grilled squid; and the ampalaya atshara ???????????? (Original) Filipino cuisine; big turon; like the inihaw Na pusit; and the ampalaya atshara ????????????
Very clean, well organized, and lots of authentic stuff. The food court is amazing!
This is the second store of this chain in Ontario. The other one, which is much larger is in Mississauga. Catering to the Filipinos, Asian and other cultures, who have either tasted the food or are actually craving for something different. There's the grill city, with bbq skewer of either chicken or pork, housed in a supermarket of mostly Filipino specialties. From chips, local veggies and canned goods. A nice place to go to from time to time as it brings this nostalgia effect. Transporting you back to the Philippines for a brief moment.
Top notch food
I really want to work in the country of Canada especially in Ontoria Ottawa...How to send my resume or CV in your company?
If there is zero star, I would give them one. Cooked food is very bland and tasteless. Their pansit palabok is lacking taste, chicken bbq were sold very cold. Very over priced and not worth the money at all. Go spend your money somewhere else. $56.00 for a meal for two? I would rather go to a decent restaurant and order a good meal. It’s way cheaper to shop at TNT. Al premium, Adonis. Never again shall I set foot on this store. People stay away!
Pricey
It's a big Filipino grocery store selling all kinds of seafoods, spices, vegetables, meat, cook food, Filipino desserts, fruits etc. They also sell all kinds of asian spices, noodles and other asian merchandises.
Great selection of items. In-house home cooked Filipino dishes taste good.
lots and lots to choose .Allmost everything .Great place to grocery shopping not so cloud and the staff are nice.
I went to grill city here to see what the food was about and it was amazing. I had the pork skewer and palabok. The lady packed so much palabok in my container and it was sold for $6.99!! The palabok tasted great. The skewer was really great as well but some might not buy it due to the price, but if you have the money it’s 100% worth it.
This Asian supermarket is unbelievable a total must see when you walk in you feel like you're in a miniature City there are rows and rows of dried and Jarred condiments and sauces you name it such variety here the best part is when you …
Amazing Filipino food and groceries!
A huge variety of Filipino food. Freshly cooked food too. A fun place to walk and shop around.
Clean and nice selection. Food court is a bit pricey but the barbecue is tasty.
Best place to get sea food. Sometimes it doesn't seem to be clean. Definitely i will recommend for asians.
Very good... I like I like ???? ???? ????
Amazing produce and super fresh meat. The staff is friendly and helpful and the pre-made food is amazing. They have a huge selection of goods.
(Translated) Come on folks! Feels like home (Original) Tara na mga kabayan! Feels like home
Very nice clean store . So many choices of freshly cooked foods
Amazing selection of Filipino groceries. Extremely clean, well stocked and staff is so so friendly. Was my first time but absolutely will be going back.
Very clean. Good food. Avocados reasonable price.
I was so disappointed about the Spaghetti Sauce that I purchased last 10 October 2021. It was EXPIRED! I am really sad that they were not careful enough to commit to Quality Control their Products. It was so unfortunate to learn that It was …
Loved this store, and the hot food area. We got takeout.
It's nice to have a Filipino store around the area. But the items are just too pricy. They stock variety of merchandise has the best selection by far compared to other Asian market. Again it's just pricy. Your choice to pay more but you will have the best selection.
Sells authentic Filipino items/groceries, snacks and desserts. It has 3 restaurants offering Filipino hot cuisine.
Nice place to buy variety of fruits and sea foods.
Im home :-)
If you want to experience Filipino culture through food, this place is the one you've been looking for
(Translated) Kalamansi juice ???????????????????? (Original) Kalamansi juice ????????????????????
I buy chicken skinand let my husband try it,but i didnt noticed i get the hot spicy,so in the end its me cant eat it lol..he like it,its nice store for al..
Very nice supermarket
Highly recommend the grilled squid from their bbq section! Amazing value (although desserts are pricey).
Seafood City is an Asian, specifically Filipino, grocery store. Upon entering, the store appears clean and well stocked. To the left of the entrance is the meat section which has an impressive selection of fish on ice. There are also live crabs and just about any type of seafood you could imagine. There is also a vast variety of pork, beef, and poultry. There is even a selection of chicken feet which, as a foreigner, I found most entertaining. The store also has an average selection of bread, canned goods, snacks, household supplies, etc which cater to the Filipino/Asian community. There are, without a doubt, items that cannot be purchased in other grocery chains. The store also has your average fresh produce, etc. I have to say that I was most impressed. Having spent 4 years in the Phillipines, I would say Seafood City would go hand in hand with any store there. There is, of course, a dessert section with a myriad of Filipino sweets and cakes. At the right end of the store are rational eateries. Most things are there except you traditionally Jolli Bees. In conclusion, the store is well stocked, clean, and well worth a visit.
any weekly flyers
Seafood City is like the Filipino Galleria. You'll find all your Filipino favourites whether you want to cook from scratch, partially prepared, or fully cooked from stalls like Crispy Town. Highly recommended. It's nice and clean and prices aren't bad depending on what you're looking for.
(Translated) A supermarket that you should definitely go to. Let me introduce the souvenir mango ice cream that Hongkongers must buy when they go to the Philippines. At the same time, try to scare the mango batch. (Original) 绝對應該去的超市 先介绍一樣以前香港人去菲律宾必買的手信 芒果雪糕。同時可以試吓 芒果批。
My wife and I were driving around the area doing a few errands and kept smelling this awesome grilled food smell in the air and was wondering where it was coming from. Anyway after we were done decided to stop by to see what it was all about. Very clean well maintained, lots of variety Filipino supermarket. And it was definitely here that the smell was coming from. Obviously its very popular as it was crowded. Especially by the grill food area which is what we end up getting. I took a quick look around as my wife got the food but we didn't stay after that as we were both ready to eat. Definitely will be back to try other menu items and check out the rest of the place. P. S. We only got the grilled squid which was decently priced as you get a whole body and the 4pc bbq pork skewers which was expensive. Both were very delicious especially the pork.
Seafood is good. They clean fry any fish you buy. Prices could be better.
Something different always welcomed. The place is always happy . It is bright and clean and has choices you welcome.
Nice grocery to get filipino products. Some products are overpriced. Go on a weekday to avoid lineups or get there early. Crispytown was good and food quality is good. There is no Valerios bakery in this branch unfortunately.
Nice and clean has the special food my wife looks for .
I like the place. Clean and organized. If your asian like me you will appreciate the place. We like to dine in after our church service..
Amazing variety of Filipino food. Good service!
Prices are EXTREMELY HIGH!!! Funny thing is most of the stuff they have, you can find it in Chinese supermarket also but in a CHEAPER price...
The store is new ish, the cooked food could be much better , mediocre at best.
From LA to Toronto, Seafood city is a Filipino grocery chain that's massive in the US west coast. This is the second location in the GTA with the first one in Mississauga. The name Seafood City is a bit of a misnomer, they do have seafoods but it's generally a normal grocery with fresh produce, fruits, meats, and vegetables. They also have prepared foods from the fast food style sub stores like Grill City within the premises. The aisles are a bit tight as well as pricing higher than other Asian groceries but for Filipino selection and choice, nothing like it. A good addition supporting the ever growing Filipino-Canadian community in Scarborough.
The store looks very neat and clean inside, and the staff are generally friendly people
Bought 2 fish and wishing they can fry as well, sign says 9am-9pm cleaning and frying everyday, but workers says frying oil are shutdown already at 8:16pm?
Pretty unique supermarket with alot of tasty delights. Fried chicken skin is bomb.
Very friendly people working there , however the prices are ridiculously high for some of the things they sell there. I think the owners are dreaming of becoming millionaires very fast
It's a convenient place to get ready to eat filipino foods, but highly overpriced compared to other local pinoy restaurants & groceries. Go somewhere else & save some money.
Delicious!
Just opened last week. I've heard it's quite busy on the weekends with lines to get in due to COVID19 capacity restrictions however we went on a Monday morning and it wasn't too busy. The lady helping us at the cash register advised us that …
Over priced especially the Filipino fast food its REDICULOUS prices way to expensive
It was anything but a seafood supermarket, no variety at all and whatever they had there were dry and ugly, the only section worth anything was the cooked food section, hence the 2 stars
Amazing filipino supermarket
It's a Filipino grocery combo and food court. The prices are abnormal. Way to highly priced. Must focus on healthy food, always crowded. Too much of friend items.
Filipino sweets is a must try, get it here????
Excellent but not the fast food... too expensive!
Great place and good food!
Best place to get sansrival cake
We used to travel all the way to Mississauga but now with this store closer to us definitely we'll drop by more often. So many choices of food to choose from the restaurants as usual and wide variety of Philippine grocery items.
I got everything at one place. Food take out, groceries and fresh bake bread still hot! Was great
Thumb up
Had the pork kabob and rice, horrible presentation and it was just blah. Also had plantains on a stick(dry and not tasty) and fried coconut balls (these fried balls were super good). However My friend and i spent a lot of time in the bathroom after we both got home....guess where this msg was composed.
Affordable cooked food ,fresh veggies, clean place, sanitized washroom, good customer service and good parking. Nice place to do groceries.
Omg that place it's great food is delicious
Clean...lots of food...people not really conscious of distancing. Good experience overall.
When we went here, there's not much people which is a good thing because we can walk around not worrying of the virus.. everything is clean, easy to find and the fooooooOooddd ????Yummm!!! there were cashiers who are busy chatting good thing there's this one cashier who really stand out amongst the rest and dilligently approached to cash me out ????.. Shout out to her though I haven't got her name.. all in all great place to do your grocery finding that Saturday 3pm somehow is a good time to visit and avoid too much people.
A brand new Filipino supermarket, featuring cooked food counters, fresh produce, fresh meat & fish counters and a bakery. Large selections of packaged foodstuff and canned products from the Philippines and Asia.
Well, if you're lazy to cook your dinner..the best way is to go to Seafood city..all cooked food is ready to serve including rice plus you can have your dessert as well. My favorite is the BBQ big squid ???? with onion, tomatoes, ginger...sooo good ????
All the ladies in front of grill city are pretty rude, poor service and impatient with the customers. Not worth it to deal with those filipinas not too beautiful ????????????????
The supermarket are clean and the arrangment is typical for a Filipino/Asian supermarket. The meat section is clean, neat and organized. Covid-19 precautions is well followed. Cooked food section is clean and fresh. Cashiers of grocery stores and restaurants are friendly and accomodating. This adds to my overall positive shopping experience. Overall good service. Keep it up.
If you miss Filipino food and grocery items, this is the place. You can also dine in, just have your vaccination certificate ready
Great place to shop
All basic grocery needs are available.
Good to finally have a Filipino grocery in this area. I hope they don't become greedy & sneaky like A- Premium. *Greedy = overpriced *Sneaky = mix old products/food to new Just like what others have mentioned, the staff mainly the cashers should get a PROPER MANNER TRAINING, I'm referring to the rude cashier on Cash1 clerk 77 Nichole, work at the back away from customers until you get Trained proper customer service.
Why are you removing my review? I'm just telling the truth. Price your merchandise properly. The small Goldilocks rolls were priced wrong!
Great BBQ. Lots of food selection.
Good place to shop ..alot of parking and easy to shop
Employees are all doing well to all customers and very professional employees... ???? Good jobs guys... Keep it up!!! Enjoy your life and beautiful day... Good luck to everyone of you...???? ????
Clean and organized. Selection felt a little smaller than most Asian supermarkets. Still great though.
nice to eat the price of the food/ lunch are affordable a lot to choose the combo lunch...yummy instead of going to restaurants its seems to be backhome.....and also the music its Christmas.....hehe I'm enjoying tha food......
It's a nice place to shop. I found what I need. They sell cooked foods. Clean store. No line up. Newly opened store.
Good place for Filipino groceries. 2021-04-10: You guys should get your electrical issues fixed so you don't have to rely on that diesel generator outside. Exhaust gases could be pulled in through the kitchen makeup air intake and distributed to the kitchen and customer areas. CO is dangerous. 2021-04-17: Generator still there. Deflectors are up.
No seafood. Large selection of fish tho. Should be renamed Fish City.
cashier # 5 is sooooo rude
Not much different from the Mississauga location. Food is definitely overpriced for the taste. Not bad for a Filipino grocery store. Frontliners get priority atleast.
Love it lots of variety of things
great place to get take out food. lots of options definitely come here and eat.
Lots of product, eat or take out food and the workers so friendly
Poor customer service. Nobody wants to answer the phone, keep on hanging up. Doesn't want to entertain calls/inquiries maybe. Prices of items are way expensive too.
Love getting the fried smelt here.
It has wide variety of Filipino and international product. Very clean and organized. Friendly staff. BBQ's taste good. Fried bagnet sooo good. We have chicharron bulaklak too. Pork are pre cut filipino way (adobo, sinigang, belly and ginisa) and they sell pre-cut labong (bamboo shoots) which is great. I think their meat product are price decently. Some prices are higher, some are same with Chinese grocery store. Give them a chance and don't be discourage by negative reviews.
Lots of thing missing. Expectation vs. Reality. But it really taste good. Just sharing!
Editing my review of 3 stars and updating to 1 star. I did not want to lose hope in this place so I decided to try out more of their cooked dishes. The price of the entree combos were really good! Very surprised that they are able to be relatively affordable. BUT it turns out it was too good to be true. The kare kare only had 2 pieces of beef which were tough as chewing gum. The menudo was overloaded with liver (they should call it liver menudo). The beef steak ended up being the best thing but was okay. Now for the grand finale. Humba with a side of plastic. I didn’t know one of the ingredients of Humba was plastic. Very unacceptable. I hope Seafood city management can take a look and straighten things out. Plastic not only is toxic but can pose a choking risk. If they can see this I hope they can at least make sure the food is safe to eat before improving their quality of dishes.
Great and yummy foods .
Really just went here for the cooked food to try out. Went to Grill City, ordered the chicken and pork skewers and they are delicious. Super moist and amazing flavor. We also had the seafood platter, which had 3 fish and 1 squid. That wasn't as good. Fish didn't have any flavors and really relied on the dip to give it any taste. Was probably a bit too cooked as well. Too much bones for my liking. Still need to try noodle and fried food stations, so will update after that. So will update this review down the road.
Very Friendly Staff
Hmm inventory needs to be replenished... the Pepsi was expired and usually you wouldn’t notice, until you taste it. Not great for our first time visit!
Feels like home very organize and clean.
Expensive but reasonable
Every item nice in this supermarket.
My First stop at this Philippine grocery . Very very impressed , clean . plenty of walking space , goods neatly stocked .
I recently visited there and wanted to buy food from Grill City, but there was this tall lady with glasses who was quite disrespectful to the customers! She was literally yelling and when the lady in front of me couldn't hear her, she started whispering to her coworker while giggling. She should get fired because she has such a terrible attitude!!!
New Philippino grocery store
All three buko pies bought from this store were bad, two had molds. We visited Toronto from NY when the US-Canada border opened. We bought 3 buko pies as pasalubong, the pies had an expiration date 12 days from the purchase date. When we got back to the US, which was a day after we purchased the pies (they were stored in a cooler for the roadtrip), we were disgusted to discover patches of molds on two of the three pies while the third pie tasted rancid. I emailed Seafood city and sent instant messages but got no response. Very disappointed about this store and their $16.99 buko pies. Stay away from their pies.
Loads of fresh seafood and it's Awesome to have your fish fried. No need to hassle with the fried fish smell in your home for weeks. ????
officially opened with the filipino-canadian community leaders, members, media, dignitaries, artists attending on nov 4th 2021. lots of asian products to choose from with seniors discount. quite a drive from durham region.
If you love Filipino food you will love this place, my wife who is Filipino was literally jumping up and down when she walked into the store she could hardly contain herself, from grill city to crispy city to all the different types of …
This place is amazing! They had us hand sanitize before walking in. The place was was spotless and had …
All of the local asian people needs can people found here. Clean place and friendly staff.
One very rude cashier at the Senior's lane on June 8, 2021 at around 5Pm. She was just coming for her shift or break and seems like she was asked to help out coz the line for paying customers is quiet long. She did not removed the sign " next cashier please" ( something like that) so i helped put it on the side so the next customer can put her stuff. She then drag and rudely put the sign back in the middle without her saying anything. At least she should have said whether its not her time yet and was just helping out...very rude...very rude young lady. If you are not happy with your job....just quit! This job isn't for you!
Nice food bar. Philippine food very nice open place
The food court sells tasty Filipino cuisine
I love the staff and the environment but I am Very disappointed and disgusted! There was a small piece of hair in my beef mami from noodle street! I didn’t notice it till I started mixing the noodles and thank God I opened it in store and …
Great place to shop groceries! They have everything!
very nice
very nice staffs and helpful
(Translated) They don't have many things. There is no variety of fresh fish fillets. I expected more (Original) No tienen muchas cosas. No hay variedad de filetes de pescado fresco. Esperaba más
Friendly staff! Great stuff, big, clean, and have lots to offer
Excellent place for shopping, clean, stocks are a plenty and the staff super accommodating much like back home we Filipinos will always have a friendly smile. Only downside is that its a bit pricey, but the quality and freshness on the food you buy is well worth it. They do have weekly sales, you just have to check it out. While grocery shopping buy the cooked food from the grill and fried stations as well as thier desserts... They are all, oh so delish!
A great supermarket. Clean and with lots of options from western and Asian brands, especially Filipino. Also friendly to non-Filipino fans of Filipino food and snacks, with writing and staff speaking in English, unlike some Asian markets where some text is not in English and there is no translation provided. Lots of options for cooked take-out as well, with an in-house take-out noodle and grill options that are well priced and taste great. As the name implies, good selection of fish and raw seafood, and for a reasonable fee they will also clean, prepare, and even cook your fish for you.
I'm quite disappointed with this grocery store and I will lay them out in points: - The prepared food is not consistent, we ordered pansit palabok last week and it was very tasty, today, April 15/21 we ordered it again. It was anemic, is the palabok pansit suppose to be sweet? I think not but I could be wrong. The store should have a master recipe that everyone follows and not to everyone cooking to make their own. - Last week, we came into the store at about 5:30 pm and headed to the prepared food section. We ordered caldereta and not knowing but it was almost empty, it only had 3 pieces of beef and the rest were potatoes!!! The server didn't even say anything, he could have told us and we could have decided whether we want to continue with the order or not. - Last week we ordered kare-kare, we were given mostly string beans!!! - Today when my spouse went back to the cooked food area to ask for some toppings because honest to goodness, the pansit palabok was so bland, basically it didn't have any of the tinapa or chicaron on top. The girl employee started raising her voice at my spouse. Don't they know that customers are always correct??? There's no need to raise her voice! - The snacks there go quickly, however the store does not replenish them with the same brand. They should always replenish what's been sold. - Last week, I saw a family who brought their dog into the store, which violated the Health and Safety law. We asked two of the store clerks if dogs are allowed to be brought into the store. Guess what??? none of them knew the answer to our question. It's common sense, you're selling food!!! The employees of this store did not get proper training, I think they should all get training or get re-trained!!! VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!
Glad to have the Seafood City in Scarborough! We live nearby and going to this store gives a positive vibes amidst the pandemic. But with my husband's experience gave a different perspective about the store and the people managing. My husband used to work in the store but quit few days after opening. He had the approval from management to do a video about the store (which they knew) as they will use his material for marketing purposes but he was prevented. I came to the store with my husband to shop, being excited we came again the next day and he was doing/recording video as a customer (no longer a staff) but was prevented by a lady manager. I wanted to speak to the lady manager but can't find her so I talked to the store manager and he was apologetic. I wanted to share this experience as it is not proper for a manager to do such thing if she knew my husband already being a former staff and was at the store as a customer with me. I wanted to shop more and order take out food but my husband's excitement about doing a vlog was dampened by this incident. Day before we shopped there, I saw a teenager recording a video around the whole store and there are videos in youtube now about the Seafood City, even a vlogger uploaded the grand opening with people lined outside and the vlogger went inside freely before the opening. This incident is a disrespect to us being a customer and worst making my husband feel frustrated/disappointed specially at this time. Being in the same culture is a surprise and my husband who is Canadian, born here, he does not understand those underlying attitude of pulling others down. Hope this will enlighten management of this incident and not let customers experience this incident again!
FOOD ...I DONT KNOW IVE BEEN THERE
Pricy but delicious foods
Standard offer of Pilipino fares, and Covid safety is being enforced
The place is well organized and very clean. The only thing I don't like is that the goods are a bit pricy than other grocery stores.
The only thing i didn't like, was the line up. It was long, took us 25 mins to get in . Food was great though.
First time it was great though expensive. Lately, disappointed how the portions of the takeouts have been reduced. Number of pork slices on the BBQ sticks lesser now than before. The servings on the pansit malabon used to be good for 2 people and now it's a third short. Container for the dinuguan large also has been changed to fit less. Not good marketing strategy.
I’ ve been buying take out food since you open but yesterday I tried your noodles ( chicken mami)i was disappointed tasteless and they didn’t even separate the noodles!! I have one big chunks!! If you put noodles in hot water first it shouldn’t look like that, i hope its not from the bag and into the soup. One more suggestion please write ingredients on your menu, some people dont eat what goes in the soup. Thank you.Paz
They can't barbecue, grill city at Mississauga cook better then this area. It's like chewing on stone.
Nice Philippines market a
My wife and i appreciated John of Crispy Town , he deserved to get a promotion for doing an excellent customer service. Thank you John!!
Good, it opens early.
(Translated) Great selections of Filipino foods, Sarap! (Original) Great selections of Filipino foods, Sarap!
Awesome supermarket with really fresh and yummy grilled / hot food
Food from the food court is very tasty! Fair price, great selection of fresh food, kindly staff :) I would definitely go back
Asian supermarket There alot product Awesome I luv it Perfect to the asian people for groceries ???? ????
Excellent customer service!
Price are high
Small cozy comfortable space atmosphere.
Overly priced food item compared to other Asian grocery supermarkets. Cooked foods are not even tasty and satisfying. You will get disappointed.
Pricey items that you can usually just get from a local Chinese store. Not a place that I would go to for regular Filipino grocery items, unless you are looking for something in particular that you can’t find anywhere else. Food in their foodcourt is mediocre for their prices. You can find better ones from local small stores in the area. I don’t understand all the hype with this store.
Super clean and friendly staff! An enjoyable shopping experience.
The kutchinta get moldy after 1day although we keep it inside the fridge,so sad????
I am a Seafood City ( Grill City ) fan, especially their barbecue, i love it!!! But unfortunately we went there today and we bought a value meal with the grilled pompano and bopis, and while my husband is eating he saw a part of a steel wool ( the one that’s used for washing pots ) on the bopis. So be very careful.
Very nice and clean Supermarket!!!
Employees were too concerned with gossiping rather than serving clients
Why do you call it seafood city when there more meat than seafood. There is more junk food than seafood.
Went on opening day wch wasn't too busy, there's a pleasant greeter at the door, long line up @ take out counter for ready made foods but line goes quickly, environment clean, produce, meats & fish area well stocked & fresh, many cashiers for quick chk out.. Great experience I hope establishment can continue w/ good customer service moving forward. Congratulations on opening day!!
Lots of filipino treats and the prizes are reasonable compared to other store. Will go back again and bring friends
A well organized place, a little small though... Quite pricey...
I went to eat bbq pork meal and we order halo halo which we are very excited but get disappointed staff is rude no greetings . banana que is not cook
Asked the cashier something politely who just rolled her eyes and at me. Rudeness of staff left such a bad taste in my mouth.
We had a truly unacceptable experience today at Seafood City Scarborough Branch. When you walk in, they immediately hound you with covid restrictions and procedures, which we understand because of these unprecedented times. However, once you start shopping, the staff in black uniforms eye you down and breath down your necks at every single move you make with uncourteous manners and repetitive and annoying lectures regarding social distancing, which we are complying with. The staff need proper training with customer service skills, specially those in the black uniform, since they did very well at irritating people. The point is, the whole world already knows how to comply with covid restrictions since covid has been here for over a year. The staff here are untrained and treat people as if they are incapable of following simple rules and instructions. In short, you feel as if you have no freedom to shop with the way the staff treat you. They might as well kick us out of there and stop accepting customers with the way they act. They embarrass customers. We strongly DO NOT recommend this branch. Not only is it pricey, but the staff are impolite. The food only looks like it tastes good, but it doesn't. There are a lot of other places to shop at that are cheaper and taste better. We wrote this review to inform future customers of what to expect when shopping here.
Everything's TASTE GOOD..WHO NEEDS TO COOK IF YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING SEAFOOD CITY ...DELICIOUS....
Great place to grab some Filipino food, the workers are great to deal with, nice addition of a bakery. Grocery section is also a plus on your visit, prices are slightly higher compared to other Asian supermarkets, but not too much higher, so the convenience almost balances it out on your wallet. There are specials on bulk purchases here and there, so keep a look out. For example spend a certain amount and get something for a dollar......not at this time, I think a summer time deal. I like their bbq pork and chicken and their liempo combo. Most Covid protocols are being followed, one thing I noticed, is in their dine in area, we've never been checked for being fully vaccinated and proper id......there's signs all over the place but I don't see it being enforced.
I went here within a week of the Grand Opening. Wait time was less than 10 minutes and the line up was very well organized. Inside was a little more narrow than I would of liked, but if this wasn't pandemic era I think all would have been fine. Obviously they've been quite busy and a few items are either sold out or yet to arrive, but I think within a couple months that'll be well sorted. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable for a niche supermarket.
It is a store with restaurant, so you can have your lunch and shop.
Wonderful
Beautiful clean store: lots of seafood choices; you can even eat schiskabob and rice (panchit) to and eat inside/ lots of choices
Overpriced but food is freshly done
Accessible and not crowded when we visited this place. BBQ is the best. I love their goldilocks products. Some items are expensive better go to Chinese grocery.
Its my first time to go to this place i was amaze everything i want is in that store iys big and clean friendly stuff
Over and high price, plus someone i know worked there had to quit due to no breaks. Rather only Lunch break for 30mins on a 8hr shift. Worst than a cashjob. Some employees were rude thinks their all that. Was happy they opened one in scarborough but not going back just turn off.
When it comes to squid, yesterday they run out. I find it expensive .
(Translated) All food is garbage (Original) All kakanin are garbage
Nice place for filipino food
grilled tilapia.. squid and bbq... are soo good..
Excellent place fresh food
Prices are a little cheaper than the Mississauga location I wish they had motorized shopping carts for people with disabilities
Good but a bit pricey
Clean and very organize and the people is accomodating
Clean and well-organized supermarket. Wide variety of exotic fruits, fish, meat, frozen goods and others. A street-food stand has delicious lobster rolls and fried bananas, and more. …
Food court: very slow service. They should add more cashiers. Only 1 was there and she was also the checker and bagger at the same time. Associates who check and bag food should also not be the cashiers. That slows down the workflow.
