The fish was cooked properly but unfortunately lacked flavour and the batter was too light. Chips were cooked ok after I asked for them to be well done. Gravy was good. The couple running it did not seem very customer oriented and unfortunately appeared as rude even though I hope that wasn't their intention.

I stopped in on Friday to grab a toasted western, ordered it through the rude Chinese guy. The lady came out to make it, she us nice and polite, what is disgusted me is the one egg, 3-4 specks of onion and ham, it cost almost $6. Not worth it at all. This was my first time and my last. I would not recommend this place at all. And the guy should get some customer service training, being in the hospitality industry

I used to come here as a kid. Family owned and your stuff gets wrapped in newspaper the old school way. At least that's how I remember it. Still giving it 5 stars even though it has been a long time since I was there b/c the food is A1.

Good fish and chips place, I believe it is family owned. Went with my mom one day while my grandpa got a hair cut in the plaza. The place is not visually pleasing, but the food and service are great, so I still give it a 4 star! Only thing I had to say was the washroom was a little scary and had a strong musty smell. I recommend this place for breakfast!

I love this place! They offer splendid meals, their menu is varied, The cook in that spot is very experienced, I love a lot eating all their food. The dishes are consistently of high qualtity, the service towards the clients is nice. I go often to this restaurant and I not even once was discontended. I recommend it to all my friends.

Stumbled upon this place last year. SO thankful! FANTASTIC fish and chips. Batter is light, fish is moist and flavorful. Chips are fresh cut and made perfect every time we've been there. Tartar sauce is just right and coleslaw is tasty, not too oily, not to tart. The service is great! Super friendly. The price are better than any fish and chip joint we've come across. Inexpensive. The décor of the place isn't much to look at but we don't go there for the ambience. It's like a greasy spoon type establishment. We are customers for life. If you enjoy fish and chips YOU'VE GOT TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT. :-)

For the price is a rip off. Portion is tiny for the price. The people working there is just doing their own things completely ignore the dining room. No wonder at noon on a Saturday there is only 1 table in the whole restaurant. Will never go again!

Save your time and your money and go to duckworths fish and chips on Kingston road!!! Their food and service is so much better. Take my word for it and thank me later.

I have been going to fish joy my whole life. The new ownership has raised the prices, as they cut back on the quality, such is life, I guess? BUT having off tasting fish and finding a hair in my dinner is the last straw...sorry but I have nothing good to say, and will NOT return.

Price is the king! I get 3 halibut fish & chip for my family here only $38 ! I used to buy 3 fish from another X fishhouse almost $10 more...if you buy haddock here,you just need to pay $9 ! That's an amazing price.

The woman who takes your order and serves you is EXTREMELY RUDE!!! No manners or customer service skills. Food is subpar to good, but what bothered me the most is that in particular I am fond of fish and chips and in particular the tartar sauce that accomplices it. I requested to have some of their home made tartar sauce to go, and instead of requesting I pay a fee they flat out refused, even when you can see that I was dissapointed by this arbitrary decision. I very much dislike the packets of tartar sauce, and it really rubbed salt in the wound to see the home made tartar sauce right infront of my face. I get that you have been operating a long time, but unforunately i will not be recommending this place to others as the food is oily, and the tartar sauce i was provided was terrible. In the future please be mindful of customer requests, and try to compromise. I will give you a re-try in the future. Guy and Girl's customer service needs to change, also if you want to speak in your language don't do it while conversing with customers as it paints a negative picture. In the mean time if you like fish and chips and like homemade tartar sauce, the Mccowan and lawrence fish and chips is WAY better, customer service, food quality and all .

Growing up as a child in the area since the '80's, I'm happy to report the halibut and chips is still excellent. The batter is light and the fish is moist and flaky. Just keep in mind that everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a little bit. I don't mind the wait knowing that it'll be ready to eat at its best.

Prices have all gone up. Lunch special wasnt available at 3:30 pm (although the signage did not say its only until 3 pm). Too oily, too much batter and not enough fish. They gave me a fork for my take-out but I had to ask for a knife. Like really? There are ways to save money, saving on knives is not one of them. Not planning to eat here again. CASH AND DEBIT ONLY.
