I legit dedicated an afternoon and drove all over S'toon looking for sparkly pink nail caps for my kitty. Looking back, I probably should've just called differing locations and asked about their stock, but hindsight is 20/20 haha! I don't regret visiting this location at all in my frantic search for the fabled pink and sparkly nail caps. Not only did they have the mythical caps, but there was this absolutely STUNNING female Betta in a community tank. I'd have stolen her and taken her home if I could've! I'll likely visit again just to see the Betta. edit: I came back to see the Betta

Well my dog would give Petland four or five stars for sure! She loves going there all she wants to see if the rabbits she tries to get in the pan with them but I'm sure that that would mean that a lot of rabbits would die. Not sure maybe she just wants to lick them LOL! That being said I'm always mixed about pet stores I find Petland staff to be really friendly and they've been very helpful I buy my dog food there I find the prices are reasonable. I've actually checked online or Amazon vs Petland and it's very comparable. But I'm torn because I don't really like seeing animals especially incredibly brilliant parrots and that type of stuff being sold inside a stores just seems irresponsible I want animals to have a lot more rights.

Good place to get bunny food, hay, and litter. Items are often on sale. Also, they host S.C.A.T. cats that are available for adoption, which is really awesome. Thank you for not selling bunnies, unlike the other pet store in town who will let any ol' yokel come in and take one home :(

4/5 of the platy fish I bought have died within a week of being added to my already established aquarium, and I had to treat both tanks because the shrimp, and the platy fishes I added introduced a cottony fungus. The platy fishes would not eat, where so skinny they looked like babys in comparison to the others, and where just about catatonic. At least the shrimp are healthy I guess.. They still sold all their fish but a few in one of their tank the previous week because they where sick. that sickness can and will contract through the filtered water. Staff dont know what they're talking about, saying that schooling fish need a minimum of three of their own kind, and got super offended when I corrected them with the fact they should have at least 6 to school.

I have to say that this business has customer service figured out and it sets them apart. The first time I came here to get dog food, I had my two dogs. One of the workers met me at the door and asked to walk my dogs while I shopped. I figured he just really loved dogs. Then he helped me carry the bag of dog food out to my car. I thought I was experiencing an irregular phenomenon but every time since, I have received this same level of help from different employees. Customer service makes a difference in this day and age, and it has not gone unnoticed. Well done, team!

I've purchased many fish and supplies from here over the years. My last experience involved me bringing back a dead fish (a guppy... a very cheap fish) on the 30th day of their 30 day guarantee. The very first thing the woman said to me was "not to be rude but..." and then her berating me for not going to the confed location and telling me "you really need to learn to count your days" even though I was within the warranty period followed by many sighs and general rudeness. The only redeeming people here are the older woman and man who work up at the tills (they are always very friendly and the only reason I'm giving this location any stars at all). Everyone else I've ever dealt with has a chip on their shoulder.

Their fish room is quite nice and they keep the store tidy. It's hard to find sales associates who will come up to you and ask you how you are doing. The plant selection is good, but there is very little products available to help customers grow the plants at home if they have larger tanks, such as CO2 canisters for above 10 gallons. The variety of fish offered is quite nice, but it's limited to fresh water only unless you wish to order salt water fish (direct pickup only because they have no where to keep them). This location has a nice selection of frozen fish food. As for the other pets, the reptile and amphibian collection is fair, and they have few birds on the floor for viewing. I assume you'd be able to order certain pets, too.

Very dirty store with sad animals. Everything is covered with dust, and the glass boxes in which the animals are located are all in saliva and fingerprints. A dead fish was swimming in the aquarium. There are no dogs or even hamsters.

This store has a lot of Toys, Food and other pet items. They offer adoptions on Cats and Dogs via rescue through SCAT or SPCA. We often. Purchase Cat Nip, Treats and even Cat Towers here. Although we don't buy food here we have been known to purchase Cat litter on occasion too. I have a hard time watching the Birds, Rabbits, Ferrets and Guinea Pigs in their cages. It's difficult to see animals bred to be sold for profit in a store. Adoption of older cats and dogs is truly where my heart is. Please don't buy animals for profit.

Came in Monday with my son to purchase some live aquarium plants and some fish for my moms 55 gallon tank. Faye got us started and another friendly woman helped us the rest of the time (didn’t catch her name). Very knowledgeable, I learned a lot more than any other visit to any other pet store I’ve shopped in. She helped us pick out some beautiful and healthy fish to add to our community tank, as well as the plants we needed to complete our natural forest themed look. Excellent instructions on how to care for everything we bought, as well as great attention to safely bagging and packing everything up as we had a 4 hour drive home. We will definitely be back to this store, it was an all around perfect shopping experience. Thank you very much ladies!

I was happy with the fish staff. They acknowledged my presence, and served me when it was my turn. They had knowledge and experience with fish and offered advice. I've been in other pet stores and watched customers get yelled at to stay behind the line when they did not understand the rules, I've been ignored by staff busy chopping up food for 20 minutes, and been served by staff with 0 knowledge and experience. The employee at this location was excellent. She definitely was not a field expert but she had experience, training and personal knowledge that was much more appreciated than an expert who ignores me or is rude having a bad day.

It's interesting how sometimes when you could use some input from a sales associate they are nowhere to be located. Whereas when you would appreciate just a few minutes to gather your thoughts a representative seems to impose groin every possible angle. Fortunately this was a "in the middle"situation. I knew what I wanted and what to look for. Some questions that arose could have been easily addressed by expertise. Then again, sales isn't the most appropriate departments hypotheticals and circumstances unrelated purchasing.

We were gifted some stuff for our puppy. We went there to get exchange on it as the size of the products given were smaller. We were denied to do that because they wanted the person who purchased this for us in the store for any exchange . Store Asst manager was right at the back listening to all the conversation but didn’t intervene at all. When we left store employee came out apologizing to us that he was wrong about the policy. It almost took us good 15 minutes to put it in their mind that receipt clearly stated that product should not be used and can be returned in 30 days. Very disappointed. Will never visit

I purchased a brush from them less then a month ago and it broke. I took it to get exchanged because I liked the brush. One of my favourite pet stores. Recently got into the fish keeping hobby, Faye and Taylor are my go-to fish peeps. Very knowledgeable and caring. A lot of the time, I notice there is only one employee in the fish room which can get very busy. As a company you should support your workers a little better, we can see they are over worked and underpaid. Pricing is on the high end for most products at Petland however their stock is much better kept than the other major pet stores in Saskatoon.

Great goldfish selection, one of my favourite was the Ranchu which was the last one and i quickly knew he was the one, though they are overpriced as usual, i still give it a five star... I dont think of the price as much as long as they live a happy life... And if you're planning on getting a goldfish... Please dont put them in a tank smaller than 20 gallons per fish, especially not bowls!!!

Walked in with our dog to get a nail trim as we were in the area. No prices posted. Went to go pay and found out it was $18 for a simple nail trim that took less than five minutes. Other stores are $10 or less. Will never be coming back to this store.

Guest service manager was friendly, otherwise was very gross and disorganized inside. As well as most of the fish tanks were fairly murky and were also covered in those white snails. Never been in such a dump of a petland in my life. Go to confederation mall location much cleaner and actually was organized!

I come here often for reptile food (crickets, worms, etc) but always find that they have next to no live crickets, even on the day of their shipment. Theyre just dead in the tubs usually. Beyond that, all of their accessories can be found for half price at PetSmart or even lower online.

Woman working the aquariums kept arguing with me about the size of my fish tank, my choice of stuff in my tank and my choice of fish (all of whom have been fine for the last 6 months. Rest of the staff was friendly enough, but I wont return, not shall I recommend it to friends or family. Edit: The algae eater died and introduced a disease to my tank of fish. It almost killed the others, but I managed to catch it in time. Everything I purchased from this retail location has been tossed in the trash, except for the fish which was flushed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE! When we were looking at fish, there were dead ones floating in tanks, being eaten by the other fish in the tank. NOT A GOOD SPOT FOR FISH! I wish there was an option for 0/5 stars.

They didn't have what I needed. They are over priced even for a petstore. Their theraphosidae prices are extremely comical for example. Staff was extremely unknowledgeable this visit. They do have a few staff that are able to help you at times. Glad to see their holding areas for their puppy mill dogs are remaining empty.

Went to buy some fish today. The employee was not going to sell them to be because he felt they needed a bigger tank even though the tag said 5 gallon and I have a 10 and a previous employee said it would be fine. There was also a hamster not moving and a small child was playing with it. Good selection of stock and somewhat clean but poor customer service, not very personable.

Overpriced often sick fish,Fish manager Faye and fish staff seems incredibly Moody. Have purchased many bullied and sick fish that are now healthy and happy. Was there recently Saw many fish being cannibalized others laying on the bottom actively dying, not busy at all just lazy staff. Shop petsmart they won't sell sick fish, currently both locations fish sales are unavailable due to fish disease. Petland doesn't care about you or your pets,just our money. Ask to see a test of there water quality and always quarantine petland fish.

One of the staff was helping us shop for supplies for our new dog. He recommended these dog treats which he referred to as the "McDonald's" of dog treats. So in other words junk food for dogs. He said they were great for training and we could give as many as needed. I didn't really think twice about it as I trusted him. It's his job to know about these things. After nearly a week of giving these treats to our dog I happened to glance at the ingredients and discovered that they contained garlic powder, onion extract and the preservative BHA. There is conflicting information online about BHA. A lot of sites claim that even small amounts can build up in a dog's system and cause cancer, while others say it's safe. My opinion is why risk it. Regardless of the BHA it is a known fact that garlic and onions are both extremely toxic to dogs. The guy told us they weren't very healthy but that's a far cry from toxic. I don't understand how they can even sell this product, nevermind recommend it to people for their beloved pets. I will never go here ever again.
