The fish tasted delicious and was well done, but the rest of the good was just 'okay'. Service was bad - we were sat by a teenager and promptly forgotten. No waitresses bringing water no one taking our orders, just a look over every now and then with no acknowledgement. I finally went up and asked to be served and from there our service was fine. It woild be fine if it was a one-off (maybe it was just a bad moment of memory) but sbout halfway throught our meal the EXACT same thing happened to a couple that was sat beside us. Service is part of the experience for me and the fish wasnt good enough to warrant a return visit after that.

Had the fish and chips tonight. I think we hit a bad night and they didn't have the deep fryer hot enough. The fish was so greasy it ran out like water from a sponge from my fork. The frys were good. Hadn't been here since I was a kid decades ago (60 years) was looking forward to it. Anyway, a restaurant doesn't stay open this long if they don't have good food, so I just hit a bad night. The fish at Leopold's is consistently amazing, just as good as what we get at West coast English taverns and I can walk across the parking lot to it. Anyway, we gave it a try, kinda disappointed.

Great little pub and grill. Friendly staff, clean restaurant with nice, nautical decor. Seafood based menu. Had the fish and chips . Nice plated presentation, all condiments provided. Food tasted so yummy. A very nice dining experience with a sincere Thank you offered with goodbyes exchanged. Visiting from out of town and this was a welcome find. Around for more than 50 years, which is forever in the restaurant industry and says just how much saskatoon residents live their food. The menu is simple; fish and chips, with a few other variants (fish + chicken and chips for their surf and turf, for example). A great beer selection helps wash down the expertly battered fish. They're newly located into the old salonica space on louise just north of 8th street... a lot of the old Salonica decor is still there and it feels a little dated. But the food is as stellar as always, and the service fast and friendly.

I will say the clam chowder was excellent, coleslaw was very good, fries were ok but the fish was extremely greasy. Also, the fish piece itself was very small but looked large with the heavy batter. The service was good and we got our food fast and hot.

Food tastes great and service was perfect. Some might call this place cosy, some might say it's outdated but either way the atmosphere there is welcoming and friendly. One thing I was not impressed by is the cleanliness. I sat at the window booth and tried not get my coat touch the windowsill that hasn't been cleaned for a while.

I love this place, I love the food. Everyone is fantastic that works here the only downside is that with my job I can’t get to their location and they have ZERO options for delivery. No APP Delivery and no 3rd party delivery. It’s been months of me calling and asking if they have it yet because I love the food here. Hopefully one day they will have delivery and then I will boost this review to five stars. If you can go here I’d recommend it.

It was a good experience overall. Limited menu; everything is deep-fried. (I certainly wasn't in the deep fried mood when I visited). However, the fries are homemade, service is quaint and it's quite clean with a nice neutral atmosphere. Bonus is it's licensed with a little pub in the back for whoever may be interested!

Ordered take out had the fish, shrimp and scallop combination meal (combo 2 I believe it was called) very enjoyable and everything was tasty. Staff were very friendly. Was asked if I would like condiments with my meal and was sent home with about 10 individual cups of sauce. They wrap the takeout in newspaper because it is an English tradition. Adds a bit of fun to the meal. Simple menu, simple ingredients, fairly reasonable prices. I think if I were to order again I would sit in as the takeout tends to lose its crispiness.

Good fish & chips, doesn’t need anything, but a little vinegar, lemon, & tartar sauce won’t hurt. Add per your taste. I would definitely buy a jar of the tartar sauce. Fish was nice & crispy, flaky inside. Fries were tender. Good strawberry milkshake. I had to ask for a water. Prices are maybe high but worth the visit? Well, that’s the one less star.

Went there last night, and I have to be honest... I'm a little worried. Not due to the food, its exactly what I remember of Gibsons. The fish and chips can't be beat, especially for the price. What really bothered me was the service I noticed. When I went in there I was sat down quickly, but it took almost 10 minutes before a server acknowledged that we were there and brought us water, let alone took our order. We had to go up and ask for service. Normally when this happens I'm not too impressed, but I figure maybe its an off night and it was a one time thing. No big deal, the food is great. But then another couple gets sat down across from my table. They end up waiting for nearly 10 minutes too, and I have to listen to comments such as, "I wonder if they forgot about us?" as they wonder if they are going to have a server. I really like Gibsons. Its been a staple of the city for almost 6 decades. Please make sure service doesn't go downhill, as that can tarnish the reputation. Servers should be aware of who gets sat down, and if a table hasn't been served yet. Gibsons is great and should remain that way.

Very happy with the meal. went with a friend and the portion was so big we split a combo. they made a great Cesar and we had a nice visit with the little water feature playing in the background. the waiting staff were awesome and very friendly. Best place to go in Saskatoon. I especially like to go on Fridays because I grew up eating halibut and Gibsons brings it in on Fridays. The cod you get the rest of the week is good too, but the halibut is awesome.

Extremely greasy. Hadn't been in years used to be the best fish and chips around. I think because it used to be served in newspaper which would absorb all the extra grease now it's just greasy. ????

I forgot I was going to do a review but had forgot until now, about a week ago I tried Gibson's Fish and chips. We ordered the appetizers of fish and calamari and I got a rum and coke and few caesars to drink. It was affordable and quiet in the lounge and the food was amazing and tasted really fresh and my drinks were perfect too. I'd definitely recommend the calamari there, some of the best I've had in the city. The service was fast and friendly too. If you were a fan of Salonika's you'll appreciate that most of the decor and atmosphere is the same, they still have the cute pond and fake plants lol. I'll definitely go back and would encourage others to give them a try.

This restaurant is very quaint and the servers are very friendly. We ordered the fish and chips and it was delicious with two large pieces of fish with home cut fries and coleslaw. We were too full to have dessert. I would definitely recommend and return back for a repeat meal.

I've been eating at GIbson's since they had their little shop with basically just one aisle down the middle of it (loved the ambiance back then). The food is consistently good, and sometimes great. Never regret going. Prices are fair, and it's a local business that I'm happy to support. Makes great take-out too.
