Decided to drop in here after checking until our hotel. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Pros: - Large portion sizes for appetizers and main courses. - Atmosphere was warm and welcoming - Staff were attentive and very friendly Cons: - Bread was okay, but was a bit lacking The jalapeño mussels in a white wine sauce appetizer was excellent. Strongly recommend these if you enjoy mussels. Could also be a main course on its own. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and seasoned well enough to bring out the natural flavor of the meat. The seafood linguine and chicken parmesan were great as well. The portion sizes were medium to large and each main comes with a soup or salad to start, so unless you are really hungry, you can skip appetizers or be prepared to take home your leftovers! Definitely recommend dining here!

One person in our group ordered the filet mignon with crumbled blue cheese. The waitress brought out the dish and said "sorry there's no blue cheese, somebody didn't do their job last night." This changes the whole flavour profile of the dish and they would have ordered a different dish had they known. Nothing was done to fix this situation and there was a care-free attitude from the waitress. Passing the blame to a different staff member isn't a good look. If you want a "higher end" experience in Sarnia go to Big Fish, Lolas, or even Olives. Our group found this restaurant overpriced for the service and setting.

I had called in about 45 mins ahead for two regular prime rib orders. The female server was busy with a somewhat heated phone call at the time. When she was finished with that call, she informed me that my order was not ready and would be a few more minutes, in a not so polite manner. Brought back the order to my hotel room to discover that the prime rib was closer to medium and that no spoons were given for the soups. The food and the service was mediocre at best. If I ever come back to Sarnia, Ontario, I might just skip this supposed gem.

It was our first time at Waggs. We all had a different type of steak and they were all tender and juicy. The salad and potato and veg came with the meal . The salad was soo fresh with a variety of lettuce red onion & tomato excellent and the vegetables were fresh not frozen. The service was excellent and because it was my birthday she brought me a dessert with a sparkler. It was big enough we could all share. Definitely 5 Star meal. We will be back for sure.

Are gone in there just before closing and were very satisfied. Very friendly service made us recommend the leftover house specialty prime rib for half price. We were not disappointed! We recently had lunch at Wagg’s and thoroughly enjoyed their 3 item lunch special which consisted of a tossed green salad, minestrone soup (they also offered a loaded potato soup), and a 1/2 spinach chicken wrap. The salad, which included mixed greens, cucumber, tomato and onion, was fresh, crisp and delicious. The minestrone soup was hearty, loaded with vegetables, pasta and beans and not over salted. The wrap was tasty and fresh. The service was very friendly and attentive, always asking to refill water and making certain that we enjoyed our meal. For under $15.00, we wondered why anyone would choose fast food over this delicious lunch offering.

This restaurant is located in Sarnia, Ontario. Around two and half hours from Mississauga. Good place to be, small city, nice place to live. Near USA bridge crossing, Blue water bridge and beautiful harbour front park. Nice to watch the boats and relax for the afternoon for coffee break with friends.

Though the food was fine, we waited over half an hour for them to take our order, and then another hour for our meals to arrive. They gave us a discount, but it was only the discount offered by our hotel--no discount for the wait. Their excuse was that they had to serve big parties first, and the manager was downstairs so she didn't know what was going on. Yes, we spent two hours over dinner, but an hour and a half of that was nursing glasses of water.

Usually go here for dinner, but with a friend in town we thought we would try a lunch. Turned out to be a great decision. Three of us ordered the prime rib and all were very pleased with the presentation. Just wish they would have a baked potato option as a side as they do at supper. The salad side was crisp as the side and was probably a healthier option but prime rib calls for baked potato in my opinion.

I ordered the Prime rib seniors cut 27$, the flavour and tenderness were good but the cut was basically “shaved”, I’ve had cold meat slices that were thicker, vegetables were bland and baked potato was barely warm and undercooked.

Was not expecting much being it's in with the super 8 but wholy smokes it was great. Had ribs with the twice baked and it was over the top. Service was a bit slow to start but after I complemented them on the food the service picked right up. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal in Sarnia. My best stop yet in the town. I will definitely be back.

The place is really nice, we sat outside with our little man (4 years old), the place was accommodating, most of the food was good, we fell in love with the mushroom filled with Crab appetizer, really tasty and flavourful. We also liked the BBQ pork Back Rib, super yummy. However the restaurant was out of soup, the food took over an hour to come plus the Shrimp Plater (one of the most most expensive plates) had nothing special about it, shrimps were not almost frozen store size shrimps and were not tasty to be honest. Otherwise we had a great night out here.

Walked in at 5pm. With no reservations. We were greeted immediately by a friendly hostess and seated. The restaurant filled to compassity. Fast friendly service from our waitress, the food was wonderfully tasteful, hot and well presented. The atmosphere was elegant, tasteful and clean. We started out with some calamari served with a delicious dipping sauce...the calamari was cooked perfectly. The soups at Waggs restaurant are a MUST to try...they have a lady that cooks some of the best, most unique soups ever! We had a cream of potatoe and carrot soup that absolutely melted in our mouths! I recommend their tossed salad as a side but be sure to get their homemade ranch dressing, it’s incredibly smooth, creamy and guaranteed the best ranch you will ever have.

Placed a fairly large order and everything was excellent. Only problem I had was that the menu didn't specify the surf n turf prime rib is a cut from a roast n not the steak I was hoping for. However the owner was quick to help me out with that. The lobster and shrimp were decent size and good. I asked for rare steak and they even got that right. A little pricey but it's not easy finding actual good restaurants. Will be back

For the price, it is very poor. The prime rib is mostly fat. Why skimp on potatoes? They are the cheapest thing you can eat in this continent. I've heard other people say it's good there. In my three decennial experiences, it has always disappointed.

Bruschetta was a very good appetizer, the calamari was cooked well, not at all rubbery, salad was fresh and blue cheese dressing was loaded with cheese. I had chicken cordon bleu for my entrè, it was good but probably deep fried, baked potato was a baked potato and the veggies were el dante which is just the way I like them. Overall a good dining experience.

Food was marvelous and service was excellent. Atmosphere was calming. Treated a friend to a birthday supper. We really enjoyed the whole experience. Would highly recommend.. Thanks to the staff who made it most enjoyable. There were two other birthdays and they received a treat with a lit sparklier. Sweet. My friend opted not to let anyone know it was his birthday. Thank you to the staff and cook for a lovely time.

Food is always excellent. I was however very disappointed In the service. I ordered the special, as did my Friend. It was to include 2 bacon wrapped scallops. They did not come with the meal. Our waitress never checked back. I finally asked another waitress. She then came out with 2 for my friend and said mine was coming right up. She never returned until I finished my dinner. She then stated that mine would be up in a couple more minutes. I said never mind, I'm finished my dinner now. She took $10. off the bill and gave me a complimentary dessert. I did not want dessert. I wanted the scallops so ice cream did not placate me. After talking 5 other people into going there, I was let down.

First time eating here on one of our weekend trips we take and I must say the food was excellent. My steak was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the chicken was asked if he wanted grilled or breaded he asked for grilled, he got breaded. I asked for a second glass of wine, never received it and the waitress did not return but walked by us several times and didn't even notice our glasses were empty. The atmosphere is good, I would request a more quiet area to sit next time, we were right in the path of the incoming and outgoing customers. Other than a few little minor things, I would go back as I thought the food was very tasty and my steak done to perfection.

Wow! Talk about a hidden gem! This place was absolutely amazing! I took my son there for his birthday and we had steak and lobster with escargot. The food was prepared in a timely matter and was fantastic!! The service was excellent! If you’re looking for a GREAT steak meal, at a very reasonable price, then I HIGHLY recommend this amazing restaurant!

Food is still good but the menu and portions are smaller. No salad included with your meal now and the senior menu is no longer offered. Service remains good. After posting this review it was pointed out to me that it was a LUNCH I attended and not a DINNER. This explains the difference on the menu. The senior menu remains along with choice of soup or salad. The food and service excellent and I apologize for my mistake.

Haven't been there for years until today! Read their sign about the summer salads out front, thought it was worth a try! The salads both the one I had, as well as my daughters were absolutely amazing! They were huge and packed with ingredients mentioned on the menu. Added chicken and it was real chicken! I couldnt quite finish it, but it was so delicious and fresh! Great job Waggs!

Delectable food. Homemade soup that was exquisite, salmon dish was perfect, extensive wine menu, roomy enough. Higher priced restaurant but the quality of the food is worth it great location being on the edge of downtown and walking distance to Centennial Park

We had the rib eye steak dinner special and were not disappointed. The soup was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the potatoes and vegetables were all delicious. Shauna our waitress was very friendly (as were all the staff) and everything was served hot. Will have the prime rib next time. Really nice to have good food at reasonable price at a family owned restaurent! EC

Hidden Gem inside the Super 8 Hotel. Inside decor and ambiance is excellent. Staff go above and beyond. Nice little Bar area with 3 tables for a more quiet conversation....just off the main dining area. Take out is available. Great steak and seafood. Ample space to eat. Chairs are comfortable and solid...as well as the tables. It is a hidden gem and worth the visit.
