I went to Southwest Pet to try & save myself from going all the way to London for the same product & fish. This store is EXTREMELY over priced. I then looked at some of their fish & most of the fish look very unhealthy, sick or even dead still in the fish tanks. I was VERY hesitant on buying the fish but took a chance. I bought some neon tetra & glowlight tetra. Within the first 4 hours, the neon tetras died, I called them the next day to bring them back in. They tested my water to make sure it wasnt my fault that the fish died , determined my tank water levels were fine & then gave me 2 new neon tetras, Those 2 replacements died again within 2 hours of being in my tanks. The glow lights I got from this place are very sick & I am trying to bring them back to health. I then went to Al's aquarium place in London & have the most perfect, healthy little fish. The staff were very nice but the product & live stock is extremely disappointing. I would never recommend buying live fish from this pet store. Save your money & time by taking a trip to london for cheaper priced products.

I stopped by here thinking it would be an improvement compared to their London locations. Unfortunately, although the store was physically cleaner, the fish were still extremely overpriced and poorly displayed. Even the display Betta on the front desk was in a sad condition - tank really grimey. Several employees present that day, but they were all around the front desk talking casually to one another, no one on the floor. Even the pet food and accessories were priced 10 - 30 percent higher than any other local place I have been into. They definitely need to revise their company standards.

These dudes and dudettes areawesome. They have always treated me nicely and helped me with what I was looking for. Can't complain about the service because they are all champs there. They do sometimes have some items sold out, but nothing that took away from the experience. Keep up the good work.

Great selection for fish and reptiles. Both livestock and supplies. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There’s no BS to make a sale. If the staff member isn’t sure about a question they will find the associate in the store or even call one on the phone to ensure the proper answer. Pricing is the same if not better then the big box stores. The staff sell what they use personally. It’s good quality equipment. Every pet in my house has had input from the staff for the quality and care of the animal prior to purchase. They are very honest and even help carry the larger items out to the vehicle. I highly recommend them to any and every animal lover in town.

Excellent place to get your pet supplies, especially if you have exotic pets. They have a pretty good selection of feeder fish, crickets and worms. They also have a good selection of small critters for sale as well and the staff is pretty knowledgeable. Prices for some things can be a little pricey but they're an excelent shop!

Sorry guys could not get this in to the new paper like i wanted to but you guy are the best pet store in St.Thomas. St.Thomas Southwest pet has a grate deal of variety in foods for cats dogs Etc, there fish do not look like they are going to die right when u get them home. Awsome customer service, grate with all the animals. Hoping Southwest pets keep up that good work and more customers to come!

Amazing staff, very helpful when I bought my first ferret from them, offered to exchange when we bought ferret #2 (another male) if my first male didn't get along (which they didn't) took #2 back the next day and they switched him for a female (ferret #1 gets along with her) Waiting for new babies in, to possibly scope out #3 ????

The staff are knowledgeable and if there is a cheaper remedy then what they have that they know works, they will tell you where to get it and what it's called even if it means they lose a sale! They really are there for the pets and humans who love them like family (such as myself!) Instead of being all about money! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

Went here a few times. Based on the products and stuff they have a lot to choose from and sometimes may be a bit pricey but it's better than going all the way up to London for the same thing. I'm highly disappointed by their fish. They aren't taken care of whatsoever, all of the tanks have sick and dead fish. I've bought fish from them a few times all have died within a week of keeping them. I bought a couple dwarf African frogs recently and one had clear fungal infections on them and died over night, the other one died after 3 days. And the fact that even though they were sick they were wildly overpriced. Sum it up DONT BUY FISH FROM THEM. Take a look at the tanks they are dirty, filled with sick and dead fish and overpriced. If you want fish that will live for more than a week go to a different store like ruffins.

No hassle returns purchased led fluval aquasky after month it stopped working. I even lost receipt they still replaced with brand new no hassle.I highly recommend if you are in the aquarium hobby to check out this amazing store in St Thomas.

Southwest Pet is a wonderful store with seriously fantastic staff. Customer service is very important to me, and unfortunately a lot of other pet stores nearby are lacking in helpful, friendly staff. This is not the case with Southwest! Any time I've come in looking for something specific, called with a question or concern, etc, I've been met with an individual with a wealth of knowledge and a sincere eagerness to help. The kind of service you do not recieve from a big box store. These people are great. I got a rescue dog a couple months. I've had two great experiences. One where my dog chose not to go in the store and the employees came outside to assist me with sizing booties for here. On another time months later my dog made it into the store and at the checkout my dog saw another customers dog and had to be removed. I came outside and worked on our excericses. The employees were very understanding and actually came outside and finished our money transaction and brought out the food. I was ready and willing to put my dog in car or wait until the other customer left. There is always a employee ready to help you the best they can. I walked around a "un named" big box store and wondered for hours, without any acknowledgement that i was there.

so my daughter and granddaughter went into Southwest pets in St Thomas had a disturbing experience but the very next day the owner of the store called them both in and did wonders for my granddaughter so I really hope that whoever the problem person was was dealt with justly other than that the store has always been great

I'm rating this store 5 stars only because of the night staff. The store manager and her night staff have the store under control once she arrives. They give excellent customer service and a wide amount of knowledge on all kinds of animals. Especially fish. The tanks are well cared for and always have been (don't get what these others reviews are talking about). I stopped going in the mornings before work because the staff isnt as nice. Theres a lack of care and the constant eating and scarfing down food behind the counter is f'ing disgusting!!!!!!!!! I'll just wait until after work now, I'm not going in the mornings anymore TL;DR Go after work, not before. Staff change is night and day different and the night staff is way better.

This place is a rip off. I bought 12 goldfish for my daughter , there fish had to be sick before we got them because within a day 10 of them died .I took them back the next day, and she laughed and said they wouldn't do anything for us even though it hadn't been even 24 hour ago I bought them.also I checked my receipt and they also charged me more then the price said for the fish.i told the young girl that works there that I'm telling my friends about my experience and she said she doesn't care. I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!
