I went there to have my dog get a photo with Santa and it was my first time in that store actually first time I've been to a pet smart I kinda thought it was kool being able to have your pet shop around with you and seeing pretty much all the customers with their best friend and I know they all weren't there because of photos I'm guessing it's always like that. But one thing I'm a little wearie about is of a pet is having a bad day and he/she decides to take it out on another (Lol) I wonder if they've ever had a situation like that. Well anyway back to the review I found the staff were friendly and patient and thoughtful and amazing the store was clean and floors weren't crammed with toys and what ever else that the pets can get

I believe Petsmart stores deserves a 4star & here's why... I think $65 for a full groom is a bit steep, considering that petsmart is probably the leading pet service provider in the market. There are other local pet stores that offer a lower price, however I go to petsmart because I like their Hempz product. A total of $93 for a full groom & hempz upgrade is really steep for a small dog. The $10 coupon mail outs are not effective. Get rid of this strategy for a more competitive pricing structure.

My boyfriend and I have used Petsmart's services to groom our dog and trim his nails. As you can see from my profile picture, he's a big, happy, outgoing boy. The staff seems well-equipped to handle him despite his rambunctious and energetic nature. When he began shedding late winter, our small apartment quickly became flooded with chunks of black hair. Bathing him and brushing him out practically had no effect, so we decided we needed to book him for a heavy-duty grooming session. It changed our lives! Despite being a little pricey - upwards of $100 - it's nothing that we can't afford once or twice a year. This service ended up being worth every penny. His first grooming session was a couple of hours long, but he came out with his undercoat completely trimmed, and didn't shed a single hair for the rest of the spring and summer. It was a well-worth service that we will continue to repurchase. We also use Petsmart for our dog's pawdicures. It's a convenient service that doesn't require an appointment, and he's in and out in under 10 minutes. The only part we question is if the staff fulfills all of the obligations listed in the pawdicure session. To me, it feels a little fast for the staff to trim his nails, shave his pads, brush his teeth, clean his ears, etc. all in a matter of minutes. However, I'm not a pet grooming expert so I can't attest too accurately. The only reason I bring this up is because one of the services included in the pawdicure session is a spritz of cologne, but we've never been able to notice or smell it any time he's left the salon. There seems to be a little bit of inconsistency depending on who's grooming your pet. Twice now, we've taken our dog home, only to realize one of his nails wasn't trimmed at all, or one of his pads wasn't shaved. We also didn't receive a bandana last time we dropped him off. It's a decent option if you're in a last-minute pinch, but I recommend sticking to Petsmart's costlier grooming services, as they tend to be more thorough and attentive. Overall, we're quite happy with our experiences with Petsmart's services, and our pup is always excited to visit as well. We've received a few different bandanas over the span of our dog's grooming needs, which is a nice touch and little gift for us to appreciate. Our dog always looks adorable in every colour we've received. The only issue we address and would appreciate being fixed is more consistency in the pawdicure services. Completely missing one paw is a little unacceptable and careless, especially for a $35 service.

The customer service at this place is good very friendly and nice staff ! Barb the trainer for pup school she is an awesome lady very understanding and down to earth! Romeo learned the tips and tricks but yet I spoiled him well my fam in general so he is still naughty most of the time ahaha - he likes coming to petsmart as well gets all his toys and sanitary to food from here have tried other places but I somehow end up back at petsmart been a loyal customer I would say for the past few years!! I am sorry to say but I was unimpressed with this Pet Smart's care for their hamsters. The staff gave me false information on hamster wheels, cage size, nesting material and many other things. The hamsters were all given mesh wheels which can cause a serious disease called bumble foot. Needless to say, their hamsters were very sweet and the staff was enthusiastic and didn't mind my friend petting the hamsters.

Took our rottie to Petsmart a bunch of times. There was a girl that worked there that loved him like he was her own. He was so excited to see her he would pull himself up on the table to have his nails cut immediately upon arriving. Then she quit and someone else groomed him and now he won’t let anyone touch his nails. We had to have the vet sedate him to do them. And petsmart just tries to tell me he’s just an aggressive dog ????

It is a little expensive but very good quality. I do feel bad for some of the pets though. The hamsters, guinea pigs, (etc) are in very small cages and I feel bad for them. Mostly the guinea pigs. They have the most tiniest cage/stall. One cage even had four of them all together in there. Also I just noticed that the poor hamsters and gerbils (maybe rats I'm not sure) they have horrible wheels that can cause bumble foot. Poor things!

However, the PetSmart website is unreliable. Went into the store, hoping to get a certain type of guinea pig food, which was supposedly in stock in the store (according to the website), but apparently, there was nothing there. This is a little bit disappointing, but the staff made good recommendations for other food to buy, so overall, I was happy with the store. Good place for all your pets' grooming, feeding, playing needs.

Was super excited to get my puppy his first appt with these guys for a bath and nail trim. Unfortunately they will not accept any dogs that refuse to go into a kennel for them. I was super willing to wait with him as it was already 10 minutes past his appt at this time.. they refused. Great sale prices and available stock. EDIT: Since posting initial review it seems that this store can't keep stock of food for my dog. He is a large breed, and I was put onto the Authority Large Breed food by store manager. After the first time I bought it, I could rarely find it in stock on the shelf. Sometimes it would be in their back room with TONs of other stuff that obviously needs to be put out, more often they didn't have any at all, forcing me to go to another brand and putting my dog through upset stomach with the change. I switched to another brand on a sales persons recommendation when I mentioned that I can never find the house brand on the shelf that is more expensive, but she said is better managed for stock levels. I'm now having the exact same issue, when I need it, that one is never on the shelf either.

The curbside pick up for PetSmart. Availability for product was frustrating because it did not filter out the selection that was out of stock till after you selected the product. I did not get the (order ready) email, I had to followup with staff the next day. But this is a new process that will probably be perfected with time and constructive criticism. Grooming is too expensive. Lots of pet food but light on things like dog clothes, dog car seats, dog back packs (human carrying little dogs back backs), boots, first aid supplies etc. Could use a bigger selection of toys. I could not buy the grooming comb I wanted but ended up buying a similar one (human version) at a dollar store. The pet version comb was easily available on Amazon and has a bigger handle than the human version. Cool promotional ideas like pictures with Santa. Staff are usually so busy they don`t have time to seek customers to assist. I usually have to go to cashier and then the cashier finds me a employee then the employee appears rushed. That results in me not really knowing if the product is right or fits so I don`t buy it. I will go back but I think they could improve. It is wonderful that they have the adoption centre in the back for Oxford County Animal Rescue, (big KUDOS for that), but there should be something to point people back there as it could be easily missed being tucked away in the back corner. I could have spent a lot, a lot more money there if they had more selection and better service. So I end up spending it on Amazon where the selection is large.

I have two dogs myself one is Shepherd Lab the other my female Rottweiler Labrador, has a inflammatory bowel disease, she has to eat a specific food very bland PetSmart is where I was able to find such a food at a decent price that both of my dogs can eat. My one issue is that when you call to see if they have the product in stock you get different answers from different people and then when you go to pick it up and it's not there it's kind of frustrating. But other than that it's my first choice for all my needs for my animals.

I got my puppy groomed today (first grooming ever) and he came back looking clean, (smelled like wet dog, no nice scent?) and was shedding a lot, but that's because I didn't get an extra "furminator," which was quite a price difference! I noticed two cuts on his right arm which were not there before the appointment. I am slightly concerned that the groomer cut him accidentally and didn't tell me about it. (I would not have been angry as he wasn't in pain) I'm slightly unimpressed with the grooming itself though, the only thing you may notice are his nails, which I also had to pay extra for smoothing them out. I do wish they would have cut the fur on his legs as I asked for, and used a nicer smelling shampoo as he just stunk up the car with his "wet dog scent." I love PetSmart, but I don't think I'll be going there for grooming again :(

Great selection for most common house pets. I spend quite a bit to get the good quality I expect for my fur babies, but I can’t complain! I love that I can bring my pup inside instead of the dreaded keep them home/safely in the car problem. Staff are pretty high energy, polite, at tentative and knowledgeable, I couldn’t ask for better service. I docked one star for the grooming salon. No communication, they will just chop off everything if they feel it’s the right thing to do. It’s like great clips for your dog. Never. Again.

Selection is consistent but customer service is lacking. Came for the cat event but nobody was there to help us, and when we asked for help, the associate disappeared. Apparently they ran out of event stuff already even though we got there only 2 hours into the event. That's fine but the ad didn't say that the event ended when they ran out of stuff and they didn't have anyone there directing so we just walked around confused. The person doing the dog training was yelling so loud we just wanted to get out quickly anyway. On another day we brought our cat in for a nail clipping and were told they dont do walk in cat nail clipping despite there being a big sign and it being on their website. We stressed our cat out in the car just to have to drive him back home. We weren't impressed. Please dont keep advertising lies just to get us into your store.

Thursday evening at 7:00pm I arrived to the store to bay Somme fish, the magazine is almost empty just one customer in the case. Three lady's working, after 10min we choose what Cain of fish we want, because no body came to ask if need help, my two kids look around for some body. Two lady's come and one is intersect for another customer he arrive 10min after me. The other lady (looks like the manager) ask what I need and I said we choose some fish. She ask me which Cain of fish, we explain everything and she said: I be back... We wait for 20 minutes and finally we realize she doesn't come. I look around if I see some body to help us and when I saw her I telling her whi she doesn't come? But with bad manners she said the other lady can help you! WHATTTT I can believe, she decided to help me but looks not happy finally the other customer nothing bay but me expend $40 in the magazine.

My niece purchased 3 Guinea Pigs at this location. All of them sickly. Had to take them to the vet to get checked. Cost $150 dollars medication cost $20. There was no food at all in the cages. The vet said that one of the Guinea Pigs had ringworm. So be warned if you purchase any kind of pet from this location since it might also have ringworm since it is highly contagious.

Great selection and fantastic staff/atmosphere. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. There's usually some decent deals too with a rewards card which is free.

They have a lot more items then the small local stores, but the staff know nothing about fish and give a lot of false information. Sell people incompatible fish. People new to fish keeping trust this false information. Fish suffer and die.

Puppy training is a joke and waste of money, taught by an instructor that obviously has no clue and can barely speak the lands native tongue. If I could rate lower, I would.

I have to say, it's the only PetSmart that doesn't seem to be too busy. The staff are really friendly and when I order online for pick up they are really fast at getting the order ready. I prefer driving to this one than the one off Main St in North Vancouver.

Very disappointed. I went to this PetSmart tonight to purchase a kennel. I was in a bit of a rush as I had to catch a ferry and I should have looked more closely at what I was buying! The kennel was assembled and functioned properly however it was very dusty looking and had lots of hairs on it. I asked the employees if it was a used kennel and they lied to me and said it was just dusty. Now that I have seen it in better light I can see brown / orange stains as well as scratch marks on it and it has clearly been used. I wish they were honest and just offered a discount on the used item. Won't be back!

I have been in several times with my puppy for training with Tony! Tony is fantastic with puppy training. I do highly recommend him. As for the rest of the store, I wasn’t pleased at all. I couldn’t find anybody in the fish department to get me some fish. The tanks were covered with brown algae. Some of the fish are labeled wrong for the max size. And the few times I have gotten an associate it was as if I was interrupting their social time with other store associates. And made me feel like I was inconveniencing them with needing assistance or answering questions. I will not be returning unless I get another puppy and need to take it for Tony’s classes.

They generally have what i go for but it's not that great. The store is a bit crowded and the girls that work there are helpful but not as helpful as they could be. I asked them to call the other store for me and they just said the other store wouldn't have what i wanted, i called myself and sure enought the other store had what i asked them to call for. The dogs don't love it as much as the other stores either because they don't get treats from the staff.

Don't get your cat groomed here they don't offer trims and they said they had to shave my cat. When I got him back he looked TERRIBLE! Shaved his tail as well and now he is being shy. He is a long haired cat and I will trim him at home now. Please don't get your cat shaved here.

Very unhappy with their service this round for my two dogs grooming session. I was promised a turnaround time of three hours to pick them up. I get a phone call and was advise that it will be another hour and a half to complete. That means my poor dogs have been there since 10 AM bringing it to 4 1/2 hours for grooming. I told the store that this was not acceptable and I will be picking up my dogs at 1 o’clock as promised. When arrived at 1:30 PM, Dexter my cocker spaniel was just coming out to get groomed. That means he sat 3 1/2 hours in a kennel waiting to be groomed. I was so upset I told Petsmart to take me off their clients list. Furthermore my little white Maltese was groomed and ended up having a bear patch on her rear end looking like a strip of bare skin. I asked what happened to her and they told me it was a sanitary shave. I told them I have never asked for this and it looks ridiculous. It Looks like my dog is walking around with a bear bum. I will never ever recommend this place.

I visited the store around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. It was not busy at all. I counted three employees in the store, There may have been others. I was there to buy some aquarium fish. One employee was speaking with a family in an aisle near the aquariums. I excused myself as I passed them in the aisle. After finding the fish I wanted to purchase I waited, then I looked for someone to assist me. I did stand at the end of the aisle where the employee was talking with the family/other customers . The employee was facing me and had to see me waiting there. After a minute or two I walked around to the other end of the aisle, near to where the employee was finishing up her conversation with the other customers. Again, she definitely saw me waiting. She finished up with the customer then turned and walked away, in the opposite direction from me. I was surprised but started to follow her and was about to speak when she began a conversation with another employee, a cashier I believe. I’m sure that they both saw me. And I’m pretty sure they weren’t talking store business. The first employee was now walking backwards, facing me where I was standing waiting for some attention. Again the employees’ conversation continued and I was ignored. I made a gesture of disbelief then turned and proceeded to leave the store. Again there was opportunity but still no one asked if I needed some assistance. For a new store, opening during a pandemic, and one might assume trying to establish a customer base, this was a complete failure. Fortunately there is another pet store just across the street behind Petsmart. That store actually appreciates and serves its customers and will always have my business. I will not visit Petsmart again, and will share this experience with friends and family. Murray McLeod

Worst service for the staff... I want to get some fish from there (Ryukin golfish, Oranda goldfish and Calico goldfish) but the girl told me that she wont sell me that cuz i tank is pretty new and i should wait for a week and also for my 80 gallon tank I just can keep max 4 goldfish... So i left from that store really mad and f..k fro a girl tank doesn't know anything about fish. Today i have 8 golfish doing really well in my tank without any problem living together.
