Soggy fries, ordered takeout and received a single small store bought tartar sauce as well as no utensils. Unfortunate since the fish actually tasted decent.

I always get the halibut and chips. And never take it out. Always hot and served fresh to order. Service is accurate but a little reserved. Quiet and relaxing but really needs some renovations. However that does not affect the food or service which is always great.

Sadly the last couple of times at Hammersleys has not been very good. Overcooked chips, too much batter, and the strangest looking Halibut I have even seen.

Everything sucked. Deco is delapodated. Took 30 min to get food and i was alone in there. The fish was awful. Seemed to be frozen breaded fish dropped in oil. Was sticky and pasty.

Sooooo disappointing how nasty this place was. I was so excited to have fish and chips and noticed this place had amazing reviews to tried it and nope.... must be from owners a d friends of owners. So not impressed. Fish was rubber and hard, and fries were very over cooked where my son that LOVES fries wouldn't even eat these.. super greasy too. (The pictures is the French fries that are now in the garbage, if you're planning on eating here this is what you will do).

Food is great and the portions are well worth the price. Normally we get it to go but occasionally eat in. Yes the decor is old and it shows but I go there to eat and could care less about looks as long as what's in front of me is clean The rest of my family like Your's but I find the batter too thin and their fries look like they're cut from mini potatoes.

Please clean up and redecorate the inside of your restaurant. So old and dingy. I would like to eat in but I hate the surroundings. But the food is delicious. The food is a 5 star but the decor is a minus 10.

Had the haddock dinner special, large was just over $13. Fish was good, batter was decent. Unfortunately no coleslaw available when we went. Fries were good. Service was good. Would go back again, but need coleslaw imo

Food and service was great. We had the seal of the day - Haddock and Chips and was very good. Four adults with 2 pc fish and chips and two children with 1 pc fish and chips. Very reasonably priced - $80.00 plus leaving tip. We all enjoyed. Place is clean, but if they just put a coat of fresh paint on ceiling and three walls, it would look so much more inviting. One wall is wood and very well done and finished, so paintin by a pro while employees and owner sleep would not be a great expense. I am not throwing stones, just a helping thought to boost clientele. Thank you for your great food and service.

Just had a large halibut dinner 2 pieces and it was awful. The reviews must have been from the owners . It cost $32 .I recomend olde london fish and chips. Shoe leather texture and over cooked. Nasty . Th e owners need to taste their product. Or try others to improve.

The food is excellent, with variety, unlike the other place in town -- and we're from Toronto. The service was good, staff/owner was pleasant if reserved. However, the place desperately needs a drywall and ceiling tile job. We wish the establishment the best and we'll keep coming.
