You may have noticed that it reaches an opinions average is very high, and it is founded on a very high number of opinions, so we can be pretty sure that the evaluation is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they are satisfied, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Fish Shop corresponds to the category of Seafood restaurant.
the food was amazing but the service was bad. bad enough we had skipped the desserts because they were too slow, it wasn't even busy. both my bf and friend had to go up to their counter to pay. i would only recommend this place for take-outs.
Wow.. seviche was good and a lot for a single dish...make your reservation and be ready to wait for close to an hour for your meal.. but is worthy every minute, a little annoying the amplifier from the sound bass.. the chicha morada was terrible.. less sweet will make it better...
Disappointing. The worst seafood I had and it was all frozen not even fresh. Had the fried mixed seafood Dish (36$) which was mainly calamari and 3 piece of shrimp, couple piece of fish filets and one mussel. They used the same batter for all seafood, no seasoning, very bland. The sauces they provide didn’t have much flavour. Also had the steam seafood dish (34$). Mainly mussels, couple pieces of shrimp and calamari. It was not that good either. Overall, very disappointing and it’s very overpriced for frozen seafood. The waitress was quite rude when we said the food was just okay as they can not take any criticism. She just slapped the bill on the table after we paid and left.
Authentic cuisine from Peru. Friendly service. Suitable for big groups, birthday parties among family or friends. You need to enjoy Reggaeton music!
Great food and wonderful ambience. The menu is a wide variety of South American dishes. A huge selection of seafood options. The staff is friendly. There was a live music group during my dinner and they were excellent. The front room is well decorated and good ambience. The back room.however does not carry the same vibe. The walls are ugly green and the furniture is haphazard. It seemed to be for big parties, so of you go make sure NOT to go.to.the backroom. Overall great place.
The Pros: Excellent food, good portions. The Cons: Expensive, a little bit hot inside. The Best: Wine is afordable. The Worst: The service was to slow. A dinner for 3 of seafood and wine: 200$
Great service, really good food too.
I went once with a date, going back there tonight actually. I found the food excellent and I had very good service. The wine prices are good. (SAQ + 5$) All in all, we had a great time and loved the ambiance. Edit on Review. I have gone back at least 15 times over 3 years. The waiter got to see me often, with different first dates. I find it hilarious. Food has always been quite good. Perhaps once it didn't seem as good as other times but overall, never a bad experience. I always received excellent service.
Amazing food, each time we go. Great ambiance.
Setting 4 only because we had to wait for an hour to get our order. Overall we liked it in here very much. Every one here speaks Spanish, the portions are big, the fish is fresh, the sauces are original, the drinks are delicious. Try to get the table near the open window on the second floor, though the music would be a bit loud - he speaker is set there, but the fresh air and shadow from the trees worth it.
Tasty and good portion fish, rice and fresh salad that must be try to enjoy this delicious dinner and the Piscoo sour cocktail was icing on the evening of BEAUTIFUL MONTREAL!!
The lomito saltado at this place is amazing. The meat is very tender and tasty and it has a great charcoal aftertaste. It is outstandig. a must try dish from this place Because of covid we have to order pick up. The service was a bit slow since we order 1 hr before and our order was not ready when arrived yet, however, the wait was definately worth it. The fried mero was very tasty as well and the fried calamary were a bit chewy, but this was probably because it was a pick up order. Definately call if you wanna have a bigger range of appetizer because uber eats does not include the full appetizer menu. Parking was not hard to find.
The food was great But the service was very slow had to wait about 40 minutes for my meal.
Fresh and beautifully presented dishes as lovely as a sunny day by the sea are served in this authentic Peruvian restaurant. The long and diverse menu will have us coming back to try more!
Alway amazing food! Specially the ceviche ????
Delicious! Friendly staff
Really nice spot for authentic Peruvian food! The sangria was the perfect accompaniment to our dinner. Warm and very hospitable staff made the experience so much better. Thank you for delivering amazing service!
UPDATE: try the Lomito Saltado! They pack it well to take it home (fries were set aside so they would not be soggy when i get home). The chicken is always tasty and the portions are generous. Worth your money
Very good food. I loved the service and the ambiance. Can't wait to try their whole menu!
Lengthy menu of delicious Peruvian choices. The seafood parrilla was exquisitely cooked — even the octopus and squid were perfectly tender, not rubbery like at most restaurants.
Horrific. We went there for one of our friends birthdays and one of our friends orders the mussels and almost died that night from poisoning. He spent the night in the bathroom puking his guts out and had to be hospitalized. Will never go back to this restaurant and will certainly warn others how irresponsible they are when preparing seafood.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER OVER THE PHONE WHEN REQUESTING A DELIVERY. I just called and I WAITED 15 min!!! Either they forgot me or ignore... i could listen them but noone taking my order, I handup. I tried again and they made me wait 7min more!!!!!insane but true. What it really upset me was then when I finally got someone to place my order this guy was rude. I was complaining about the time they are taking and he was COMPLETING IGNORING MY COMPLAINT and just asking me do you want to order something more? Told me the price.... Solymar is a good place to dine-in but delivers and take-outs are the worst. I always order there and there always something no good, either they don't give you the same portions all the time, they forget sauces, chicken is not well cook, once I got the Picarones not cooked as well...... Terrible!!!!!!!!! Because they don't care. It is always something wrong.... ????
If you want a taste of peru this is a place to go. In my case, I really was in the mood for chicken a la brasa, which brought me straight back to peru. I did find the more traditional plates on the more expensive side, but looking at people eating around me, portions do not disappoint. If you do take the pisco sour, don't let yourself get tempted by the big version as it is Huge.
Dinner
Had lunch here. Good price for lunch menu. Loved the music and service. Absolutely gonna come back in the future!

Amazing place today eat Peruvian food. Little bit expensiybut is worthy. I went there and the attention was #1 and the food amaziny. Highly recommended
We had shrimp soupe, ceviche and jalea Solymar. Couldn't get used to the sourness of the ceviche, but the rest tasted great. The portion sizes were tremendous! And for the quantity of seafood, the prices are very reasonable. Loved the fresh banana chips!
Best Peruvian resto in Montreal. Dishes are pricey, but portions are big and very tasty- totally justified.
The aervice was terrible the waitress start to scream to me why i give only 15 percent tip from halph of the bill omg she deserd 0 percent food always giod the othwr waitres fantastic pleaae tip is no mandatory us what we want to give and honestly we were going to give extra in cash but she start screaming Smart tip depend of the service and she deserve 1 cent max was very uncunfurtqble situation
The good was amazing but we had to wait almost 45 minutes to have our plates.
Food is ok but the music is too loud and the service should be improved

A great Peruvian restaurant. I have tried the Cebiche Solymar(a mix of fish and shrimp marinated in lemon juice), Leche de Tigre(fish cooked in ceviche juice) and Jalea Solymar (a mixed of breaded fish, mussels, breaded shrimp and fried manioc), which are a must-try! The portions are big enough for 2 to 3 people and the taste is simply superb!
It's an excellent restaurant. The food is super. The only thing that could be a problem is the food doesn't arrive early, make sure you give yourself about 30min at least. We ordered Ceviche and Lomo saltado and Papas
Authentic Peruvian cuisine everything that we ordered was superb! Fair prices. Highly recommend.
Very good restaurant ! Food is pretty amazing and if you are a wine lover...wines are cheap. Ceviches are pretty good. Hard to find in the city this price/quality ratio.
Just amazing food, always happy when I visit them
Take out
Very good food and ambiance. It is not expensive and you can bring the entire family or go with friends. Fridays and Saturdays they have live music! It is a very nice Peruvian restaurant in Montreal! It’s a must!
This restaurant used to be better. But for some reason (including covid) the service is left to desire, the price went up and the portions down, and the quality reduced. Now that it has its customer base, they now preferer mass produce rather than produce quality. And if you order online or go do a pick up. Make sure your food is not cool, nor they have forgotten to add the rice and salad to your order. (happened just yesterday). There is better Peruvian restaurant to choose from. just research and you will find them. But if you want to avoid disappointment, avoid this place.
Food was ok. They make me wait for no reason. My food was ready and nobody in front of me. Workers need to wake up!!
The antichucos was tasty a little bit salty but enjoyable. My favourite was the purple corn drink this was one of my favourite drinks when I was in Peru. So was quite happy to see they had large pitchers of it available to order. Ideal for those who love sweet drinks.
Horrible service, ordered drinks that never came, mussels had sand, filet mignon wasn’t even a filet mignon. Ordered margaritas but it was just salt and tequila. Waiter grabbed plate while we were still eating. Drinks disappeared. Avoid this restaurant at all costs unless you feel like experiencing the biggest joke for a restaurant experience. We were a group of 13 people for a birthday.
Amazing Food experience we had! Went with my friend from Peru he said this is the place in town that makes him feel close to home! food was great! will go again!
Ambiance is good. Very friendly waiters .Excellent services. Food are delicious n fresh. Portions are big.
Food is great very delicious! But the service is really poor. Took forever to bring the drinks, servers don't seem to be organized and their customer service needs to be improved. Other wise all good!
