Always great service, products, and prices. My dog loves all the people working there so 5 stars. The owner is very knowledgeable with all the products in the store and you can go to him for recommendations and advise. If you're looking into switching to a raw diet for your dog/cat, they can help you with that. They carry a wide range of single proteins and also mixes so if you have a pet with allergies or just picky, you'll have a lot of options! The store is small and but clean and tidy and it's easy to find everything you're looking for. They have a hand sanitizing station at the front as well.

I hate this place. They sold me a pregnant rat years ago and a sick hedgehod to my kid. Then theres the owner, Jeff. He has absolutely NO customer service skills. I found him rude and unfriendly. Never liked him and never went back. Now i have no idea if hes still the owner or not. This was some time ago and like i said i never went back. If hes still there, i dont recommed shopping here. Go somewhere else with friendly staff.

I have purchased a wide variety of animals and products here over the years. They have a wide variety of fish, reptiles, birds, and rodents. I buy all my pet food there as well as accessories for my aquarium. The staff is always helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Prices are comparable. Parking is directly in front of the store. The staff has helped me numerous times carrying out heavier items to my car. I continue to shop at Aardvark Pets and am happy to be a part of helping local businesses.

I can't with this place. The owner is beyond too much. He is rude and a know it all. I have lost count how many times he has told me to feed my leopard gecko crickets and that they shouldn't be fed hornworms because they get addicted to them and will refuse to eat and starve themselves to death. I have had my leopard gecko for 6 years, never fed crickets and eats everything from mealworms, super worms, hornworms and silkworms. No he is not addicted to them and eats everything I feed him. Thankfully I was able to find another store close by who sells all these worms. The owner is also very vocal in a dog forum on facebook trying to push the worst raw dog and cat food on the market and if you challenge him he gets very defensive. I cringe to think people go to this shop and take his advice on pet nutrition.

Highly recommended this place. My cat was recently diagnosed as diabetic and we were in need of his special cat food but the vets office was out so we were looking for something to supplement until they got the order in and I'm so glad we found Thrive Pet Food Market! Jeff is amazing and so informative, you can tell he really cares about animals and wants the best for your pet, he recommended a raw food diet and detailed all the benefits as well as what to do. Then to top it all off he gave us a bunch more information and directions on how to transition a finicky eater which is very reassuring. Raw diet is very affordable in comparison to higher end processed food products and much more nutritious for your pet! Very happy with the whole encounter will definitely be back for any future pet needs.

I have been getting crickets here for almost over 5 years and the staff is wonderful! Except the older, larger man who works here..... for example, my boyfriend and I both have many reptiles and come here for our crickets. Sunday we went there and I asked for 10 large crickets (what I have been getting for 5 years) and he asked for my name for the card in a very rude, monotone voice. Then he said I can only get 25 crickets at a time which made no sense since I have been getting 10 for years.... he insisted in a very rude manner that I could only get 25 at a time so I did. (Now I'm here with a $30 cricket pen that is falling apart and I only baught it from him Sunday when I could have gotten the same pen for $20 at petland that wasn't broken...) anyways then my boyfriend asked if the had medium size crickets as last week they did not and the man said "umm I have all sizes of crickets..." in a very disrespectful voice so he gave my boyfriend what he asked for (80 crickets) and when we said thank you and have a good day he said "whatever". On another note, do NOT I repeat DO NOT take reptile advice from him! I went there to hopefully by another bearded dragon from him before Christmas and I have a lot of knowledge on bearded dragons and reptiles in general and all I wanted was the price of his beardies but instead he gave me a lecture about bearded dragon care and nutrition that I already knew...(but every thing he told me was wrong) then I said I would like a baby so it can grow with my boyfriend and get use to him and the environment of his home and the man said "no that's a myth! They don't grow and get use to you. You need to get an adult! The older the dragon the better" which is a lie... again. He is just trying to sell his adult bearded dragon who is in a far too small vivarium. My brother and sister-in-law have also had lots of trouble with this man on their own occasions between rude service and lack of knowledge.... I will be finishing up my cricket card and going elsewhere for my reptiles food and going elsewhere for information! Thank you for your wonderful service.... ???? P.S the girls who work there are wonderful and very nice! They have wonderful knowledge and are very helpful with great customer service skills...... too bad some people can't learn from them.....

I buy my raw dog food here and its helped my dog with allergies so much. The owner recommended it to us and we will never go back to kibble. Hes skin, fur, rashes and everything cleared up. It's also such a reasonable price. Was less expensive then the kibble we were purchasing. Wayyy better for them. It's also made locally in Starbucks mb which is a huge plus! Also the staff is friendly and always offers to hold the door with your big box!

I have fed my dogs raw since 2011. One day, I was talking to the owner about raw diets. I provided him the contact to my wholesale supplier of the exact raw food that is in his freezers today. After his second freezer was installed, I made a comment saying “Iam glad the raw diets are selling and the supplier worked out”. Not one simple “hey thanks man for a highly profitable connection”. He just nodded. Hindsight, wouldn’t of told the grouchy guy anything. A simple “hey man thanks” would have made me smile.

Hi. I recently joined this group called Winnipegs dog owner forum looking for healthy products to help my dog prosper and be as healthy as he can. I went to the group to ask for recommendations for any products that anyone knew about to help. I was directed to someone who works with animals of all ages and all myriads of health issues. Obviously the cautious person I am, did some research first. I didnt want to waste her time if I wouldnt be interested in what the product was. However I was interested and I had to know more. With several people recommending her and the positive comments, I did reach out to this lady. She was extremely friendly and we had a great talk for over an hour. She knew her stuff! She explained everything to me and every question I asked, she answered!! She was honest, truthful, open, transparent, and compassionate about what she does. I was very impressed by the way she conducted herself and the way she presented herself. I’m very grateful to have met her and for her helping me with my dog. However, I received a very disturbing bumbling private message from someone who not only told me to stay away from this lady, but also spoke very down and degrading towards and about her and her products. I was entirely astonished to see someone who doesn’t know me, send me that message. As a business owner, if this is how he conducts business and how he treats people he has never met, I would hate to talk to him in person and hear him demoralize others. Jeff Macfarlane I hope you see this as I would appreciate a response in public, not private message. I think it was rude, outright ignorant, and completely uncalled for. Not to mention the claims you made were entirely imprecise. I’m glad I didn’t come to you at your store. I’m quite satisfied with my decision to contact her myself directly, and have someone with honesty and heart to help me instead of someone who conducts themselves in dishonorable fashions. Is this common practice for you?

I have never been treated as disrespectfully as I was by the pompous dude that runs this store. If you are a woman, you will be treated like you are beneath him, and don't have any smarts. He talked down to me, and made me feel completely worthless. It left my head spinning! He also proceeded to lie to me. I have been shopping around for a raw diet for our dogs. I am particular about what goes into my dogs, and I wanted only 100% human grade ingredients. When I asked him if his Perfectly Raw food (which he tried to shove down my throat) was human grade, he told me yes, and that it comes from a human grade facility. ???? Thats not what I asked. Is the food human grade? No. It is not, and he deceives people into the trickery of saying the facility is human grade, making someone who wouldn't know any better, to believe that the food itself IS human grade! It is not. I was absolutely disgusted with him. Having to lie to customers shows the integrity of this store owner, and if he's lying about that, what else is he dishonest about? I will never step into his store again, and I will be telling everyone I can about the dishonesty and lack of honesty of this store. After the terrible treatment, due to which I can only attribute to the fact that I am a woman, and the lies about NOT human grade raw dog and cat food, it is a wonder this guy is still in business!

Very Rough cut that needed to be fixed by another groomer. very poor completely unveven cut and they injured my dogs lips and did not inform us about the injury. We discovered it on our own and the other groomer we took them to said the wound came from a trimmer. When we contacted them back they started defending the work they did instead of apologizing for their poor job and injuring my dog do not listen to the good reviews as i assume they are from friends of the owner.
