Love this restaurant and always will. Just your average fish and chips diner, but it's got a sort of small-town charm that you just don't find too much any more. The staff are always wonderful and the food is the same as it was 10 years ago (which is a good thing!). Dine in or take out, will not be disappointed.

The fish and chips fish pieces were usually thin spindley bits but they were better last time. Still quite pricey for what you get. It's not the worst in St. Catharines area (Fryin' Guys) nor is it the best (DJs on Queen). It's about average, maybe a tad below (too pricey).

We've been here many times and the service and vibe was great however that was not the case the last time we visited...the gentleman we are sure is the owner is normally super kind and friendly but was not this time. Was chatting with a group of older folks in the booth behind us and when it came to us we just got a stank look. Waitress was terrible as well...my husband was not asked once if he wanted a refill on his soft drink and I was not asked about a coffee refill. Restaurant was pretty slow..maybe 3 other tables... Will come back but not for awhile..until the bad taste of this past experience goes away Would definitely recommend...normally has a really treat and friendly family vibe

Excellent place to be if you love seafood. They offer a variety of high quality seafood which is hard to find in a restaurant. Restaurant has ample space to sit inside and is very well maintained. They offer takeout and skip-the dishes for now due to covid , however wait once the restrictions are lifted off. It would be an awesome place to hangout with your friends and family. Big Shout-out to the owner for his excellent and top-notch customer service which is hard to find during these times.

The food is chain-restaurant quality and I assume everything was frozen. The fish tacos were the best thing out of the 5 tapas we tried, but even they left something (fish) to be desired; couldn't finish the mac and cheese because it was so bad. The interior is tired and seems to be frequented by the elderly. Still, the servers were very nice.

As previous owners of a Joey's restaurant in Calgary, on our visit to this location we were disappointed to find a very rundown restaurant . Manager/owner did not present himself well, dressed in what looked like unclean baggy jeans and a shirt hanging out. The fish portions were small and mostly batter and not much fish. The fries were not fresh. We will not return.

Great Seafood! I ordered the Joey's combo and it was excellent. It came with alaskan pollock and breaded shrimp. The batter on fish and shrimp was crunchy. The seasoning was perfect with a slight garlic and pepper taste. The gravy was good and sides added value to the meal.I went with my family and friends and they all loved the food. The area was very neat and clean. We went at an off peak hour, and the food orders came in fast. The taste was great nonetheless. The staff were very nice and friendly. The waitress at our table provided us great service, made sure all our hunger needs were met, and was prompt with water refills or extra utility requests.

I always love the fish & chips at Joey's Only. This particular location has very friendly staff and the hot food comes out fast and hot. There can be around 20 tables setup (give or take) and during supper, it can get busy at times which can cause a wait time for seating (especially on all-you-can-eat Tuesdays)

Amazing! They had it ready so fast. They were so nice and helpful with my questions. We had the 3 apps for 15$(they tould us great deal.) The grilled salmon was so good! ???? coconut shrimp was crispy and had lots of flavor. The lobster mac and cheese was creamy and had lots of lobster! We also had two pice fish and chips. Fries were crispy fish was great the batter was perfect! Slaw was perfect. The way I like it ???? You must try this place ???? I recommend!

Service was alright, not the best. Coleslaw was terrible. It didn't taste fresh - tasted like it was at the edge of its best-before date. Fish and chips were a good portion. Their house tartar sauce tasted much less like tartar sauce and more like thousand island dressing, certainly not to my personal taste.

Incredible !!! My Wife & I have been craving Fish and Chips for awhile and Joey's still leads the school. We called around a few places to see if anyone had specials and not only was Joeys priced the best but offered the most aswell. Super friendly when I went in and clean when you go in to grab the food and it tested INCREDIBLE !! The Batter was crispy , light and on point. The only thing was that they changed their recipe for the Tarter sauce . I miss the old recipe but my wife loves this one . This definitely was on point!!!

I love the all you can eat fish n chips at Joeys. Just went there and this was my first time at this location. The pieces were bigger then where I normally go, and some were phenomenal! But... a few of the pieces were rubbery and tasted odd. If it was just one piece, that would be one thing. But four out of the five of us that went had one or more bad piece. That's a little higher rates then I'm comfortable with.. would I go to this location again? Its going to be a no, for me

It was the most terrible experience. We waited for 30 mins to get the starter ( clam chowder and calamari) and waited 1 more hour to get the fish and chips. We waited so long we lost the appetite. When we finally have to pay, we still waited 15 mins more!!!! The should get more cook. There was only one in the open kitchen. It was terrible. Poor guy. The food is good but the service will ruin your appetite.

This place was a surprise , I was googling for a Seafood restaurant and this one came up, We gave it a visit and the Seafood was super fresh! We came on a Sunday, they were short staffed and very busy but the food still came out perfect. I would definitely give them another visit when I'm back in that area.

Not only is the food delicious and affordable, you can phone in orders and pick them up, which is amazingly convenient. But the kicker is the staff is amazing: they are friendly and always go above and beyond for their customers. I highly recommend this restaurant for British style fish and chips... And other seafood.

The fish was good but the experience was not. The first thing the waitress said was we close at 8 it was 720.so what happens if you are not finished your meal by 8 do they just take what is left and kick you out. An elderly man walked in at 740 and got the same speech.if you want to be out by 8 then close at 7. I felt rushed and so did my wife not cool

Went for takeout on a Saturday afternoon...The service was ok but the Food was terrible. I don't know if they were just having a bad day but the mac and cheese was not edible. It was salty, filled with liquid and just not appetizing. The Cajun shrimp was ok but nothing to brag about and the fries were crazy salty hence had to be thrown out along with the tasteless coleslaw. Overall, it was $30 thrown out the window cause I ended up having to go get different food. Disappointed cause I'm a seafood lover.

Business must be hurting!!! I can't believe what you served me for $15.82. The two smallest peices of fish I've ever paid for and it wasn't cheap. You should be ashamed of yourself for serving such small pieces and fish for the price you charge. Also the colslow didn't have much flavour at all and was on the dry side!!! It's just fish and potatoes people, and at that I'm sure it's fish you buy imported from China and not even local fresh fish. Nothing more frustrating then being given two small packages of ketchup for a large fries and one single napkin to go. LOL WOW rediculous.........You lost my business and respect.

We went here after work because a very famous fast food chain, whose name I won't mention because I'm reviewing Joey's Seafood & not bashing the other restaurant, screwed up our lunch order. We skipped lunch & ended up dining here after work. I don't know if it's because I was starved to death, or if because their food is really that good, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal & dining experience! Priced just right, nice ambient music & the staff are great!

We went with 5 people to Joey's for a birthday. The birthday girl wanted fish and chips. It's not a fancy place but the food was good and hot. Warm f&c is not a great thing. Food was delicious and tasty. We had a good time and would recommend it. Everything is nice and clean.

My wife and I were big fans of Joey's until they jacked the prices up I had a 3 piece halibut and fries at 34.75 my wife had a 2 piece at 28.75 with a salad that had a big chunk of the lettuce core it said on the menu the haulbit was quarter pound cut but they didn't look any different than than we had on previous visits cudos to the cook did an excellent job except for the chunk of lettuce core the waitress was ok but not as good as Kendra -Lee to bad she is no longer there she was a great asset to the restaurant don't think we will return to the prices go down 3piece haulbit and fries 2 piece halibut and salad a side of calamari and 2 drinks come to $99.16 outrageous

Absolutely astounded with how good the service was and how willing they were to customize the menu items to meet the dietary needs of a friend and I who went for dinner this evening. Clean grilled shrimp, poached fish and special reduced ingredients salad. Not only was the meal amazing but the staff was supportive, proactive and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy (including the very friendly manager). We dined at the meadowood location in Winnipeg and will be back for sure! Great job guys, thank you for a wonderful experience!

The clam chowder was great ! Fish and chips was just as expected. Calamari was good, sauteed shrimps great! Next time we'll try some crab. Service was ok , but they were very attentive to our daughter making sure she had stickers and crayons and drawings to colour. Overall a nice place for a quick meal.

Okay so I went to this restaurant yesterday. I chose it initially because prices were cheaper than the “Fry Guys”. Customer Service is great. There’s Wifi. Food This is a picture of what I ordered, I forgot what fish I got it was probably haddock. I also ordered a fish taco which by the way are $4 on Thursday or all you can eat for $17 on Thursday’s. fries with your meal are all you can eat fries... which I couldn’t get to because I couldn’t finish the amount that was on my plate. Fish is not greasy like most places! Fish was great however food overall is 4 star out of 5 just cause the sauce on the fish tacos does not go with it. It taste like Southwest sauce or something. Also the tarter sauce which sits on your table so you can have as much as you want which is awesome. Though the taster sauce sucks. It needs a new recipe it’s bland and dull. Maybe asking for gravy would be a better option with your food. But other than the sauce everything else is a 5 star. I’d go back for the fish taco.

Went on a tuesday for the AYCE fish & chips. Owner let AYCE and non-AYCE to dine together in same table (obviously not sharing food) The fish were great - fresh, and had relatively thin batter. Refills were great - new fried fish was served before my last fish was off the plate till I was stuffed. The chips were crispy & non salted, which is also a plus. Did not expect the coleslaw to be not refill-able, but it was good while i had some left on the plate :) Definetely recommend for the fish & chips lovers. P.S. fish taco was also awsome.

This was our second time eating here. Our first experience wasnt great (Service was nice but the food and cleanliness of the restaurant was disappointing) but we thought we'd give it another chance.. More disappointment.. quite expensive for the small portions. None of the food we ordered stood out as tasting good but the lobster and shrimp mac and cheese was just awful. Service was friendly but as seafood lovers, we certainly won't be back.

On Nov 17 we went and ordered fish and chips for take out and it was amazing ! Still hot when we arrived home .My wife mentioned that the staff and Manager were very friendly and makes her want to go back again . Great service !

Went because we received coupons and to try the resturant. The coupon stated $3 off with no conditions but when we tried to use it we were told it only applied to the overpriced options. Had the lunch special any way.The piece of fish was very small compared to other establishments. They do not take the time to peel the potatoes. There were a lot of small overlooked pieces on my plate which were inedible. They pre-salted the fries so when we added before tasting there was then way too much salt. We gave our coupon to the only other 2 patrons. We will not be back.

We have been ordering here for years, paid 100.00 for xmas eve dinner and im not sure what changed but it was awful, the fish was full of oil at the bottom of all the boxes, the fries were mushy and cold and we didnt receive any tatar sauce or coleslaw, only giving 1 star because the food was ready on time i guess all good things must come to a end sadly

Joey's has fantastic fish! It's a great price for such good fish, especially on Tuesdays when it is all you can eat. The Caesar salad and fries were also surprisingly delicious, as I was not expecting such good fries! Delicious fish all around and a great price. Highly recommended!

Sept 26/21 update. Went back for another very special bday. We had a safe and wonderful time. Treated wonderful food again fantastic got to taste the mudpie this time just go for it yummy!! Yup took home doggy bag for those nice big servings. Some to eat later. Thanks so much for a great time. Sure we'll be back.???? Manager very kind. Staff very polite. My husband took a friend to Joey's for his birthday. We had heard good things about this restaurant and thought we would try it. My husband ordered the fish and shrimp with fries. The fries were good but the fish was indistinguishable amid the batter. It was the thickness of a credit card. The shrimp were small which was ok but badly overcooked and very dark. The waitress came over to see what was wrong as she could tell I was hesitating eating my food. She replaced the order and the shrimp came cooked perfect but the fish ... well the batter was cooked well. Probably won't return. Sad for a place specializing in seafood.

Used to be good before but the last visit was pure failure the fish taco was overpriced with a tiny piece of fish and mostly salad The main fish plate the strips were small and thin and never order the salmon ..it was very small dry piece of salmon and the rest is green leaves. I think that is the last time for us The fish game was lackin'..
