Have been going to this establishment since they opened their 1st store on Dufferin.Always a deal to be had and all sorts of fish fresh as well as frozen. Don't try the candied smoked salmon unless your willing to HAVE to buy it each and every visit afterwards.

The go-to shop to get a wide variety and specialize fresh/frozen seafood of your choice (They also have many sauces and spices for seafood!). Way more variety than the regular grocery store but depending on seasons (I mean, obviously, since Gimli specializes in seafood). The majority of the products are shipped directly from Nova Scotia, PEI, or BC. NOTE: You can browse their website to see if they carry what you are looking for.

Super helpful. First time going there and I wanted to get raw fish for sushi and I loved how things were labeled for it specifically. And a lot of different things that I would probably want to try in the future (as in lobster ravioli ????)

Don't ever go to this store as they are not honest! The label is not matched with the product! We want to buy Silver Bass fish but the one in the package is actually Drum Bass! They wrapped the fish in 3 layers~ we can't even identified the fish inside the package~ shame on you!

A family tradition of Japanese food in the beginning of the year sent me here to find Tobiko. It was a beautiful red colour, vacuum packed in a small quantity. They also had great quality frozen tuna for sashimi! It was a perfect addition to our dinner.

Love their fresh fish, mostly Atlantic salmon and pickerel. Have some new frozen items like borscht. Their chicken fingers pretty good. If you love seafood check them out.

Ever since the st. Vital store moved to new location a couple of years ago, the customer service has gown downhill and some of the employees in the store are just plain RUDE. Also their prices for pickerel and salmon are off the charts. Do your homework and you will find same products for much less. Signed, a former longtime customer.

The fresh fish is soooo good. My friend and I had it for supper. So good. We ate so much, we couldn't take another bite. I was also looking for a can of 'Chicken Haddie" The poor clerk thought there was Chicken in the can rather than FISH!! Who can blame. her? BTW I made fish cakes with the Chicken Haddie. They are delicious as well.
