We used to order take out calamari here before they were so good. But the last time when I picked up my order, got home saw the calamari is barely fried, without breading :( i called and talked to the owner, he said that's how they do calamari. He never apologize and offered nothing. I guess its under new management that's why

Food was okay. The young girl serving us was very nice and pleasant. Food portions were a little small. I'll come back again maybe if I have another craving for fish and chips though maybe a little more chips or bigger pieces of fish lol

Food portions are large. The prices are good for what you get. The atmosphere is quiet, a great place for a conversation with family or friends. The service is prompt and really good. The table surface was sticky though.

Tonight I ordered joeys on skip the dishes. From my understanding joeys lost my order and had to remake it again. I received my order over 2 hours after placing the order. Just ridiculous. I’m giving them 3 stars because I do enjoy the food, and it was hot when received. I placed the order at 7pm and got it at 910pm.

My family all eat seafood but I don't. I asked and their chicken is fried in the same oil as the seafood so I couldn't eat it, I got the hamburger instead. The hamburger is not good! It is basically a Walmart brand frozen burger, gross taste and all. My family did enjoy the fried fish though.

I think they may have just reopened after covid. Seemed surprised that we were seating. Food was great I had lobster something sandwich good! Service was good and prompt I would give 4.5 stars.

At first thought of going to Joey’s I was not looking forward to it. I have never been but the thought of greasy fish and chips did not appeal to me. I was pleasantly surprised. First off the service was great, I ordered the angus burger with fries and the rest of my family had fish and chips. The burger was great, the fries where crispy and I even tried some of the fish. Turns out the fish was great as well. It was not greasy as I imagined. We where all happy with our choices and consequently I would return to eat here again! Thanks for the great meal!

We got ouu calamari and it was a large clump. And served with shrimp sauce, no taziki. Then we get our meal and the fish was terible. Batter has changed, all greasy. Only good was our waitress. She took the calamari off the bill and gave us 50% off our bill. Will never go back. We now need to go out and eat again.

Food was good. The restaurant itself was dirty and smelled heavily of oil. The waiter didn't really seem like he knew what he was doing and didn't ask us if we wanted more water, and didn't clear our plates in a timely manner.

Loved the fresh seafood and a great selection of fish and seafood items. All wild caught and fresh from the sea. Great quality and service under a new ownership. Best seafood in town so far in past 10 years I have been here. Would surely keep going there .worth every penny. ????

One star is generous. The fries tasted burnt, if that's possible, fish was greasy and the gravy was chunky style.

Had some battered shrimp, Lobster and crab macaroni and spicy thai chicken. Was great food. Server was friendly and was a clean place.

Do not like the food, only the ice cream. 50 years ago the DQ was the only place to get soft ice cream! And banana splits, push ups, etc. The burgers, fries and shakes are pedestrian at best! And over priced too!

I ordered one order of calamari over the phone. Arrived at the restaurant and decided to order another. The manager who took my order went back to the kitchen to tell the chef the second order. They didnt think I could hear but I heard the chef ask the manager if I wanted the 3 for 16$ deal. The managers response was " Do you want to make money or not". We specifically do not use skip the dishes to keep that money in our local restaurants. We will not be spending any more money at this restaurant.

They made a mistake and were combative rather than owning it. The place also smells horrible. Fish was soggy, and very small portions. I'd never go back.

Unimpressed. Food was mediocre. Items missing from order, when I called to ask why they responded "isn't it there?" No...no it's not, that's why I'm calling. Told me next time to ask for extra, no way to fix it in the moment or reverse the extra. Ordered battered shrimp got weird dried out small bits of shrimp with jalapeños....unreal.

Always order the dinner for two meal here when I am craving some greasy battered fish and chips - the price is good and the food always hits the spot. My wife always get the mushy peas and although I do not like them, she says they taste great. So if you are into mushy peas I guess you should try them. I have only every ordered take out from this location so I can't comment much on the restaurant, but the food is always great - even after the drive back home, the fish stays crisp and the fries are not soggy. I usually feel very sad when I come here to pick up my food because of all the times I have been here I have never seen more than one table in the restaurant ever... not sure how they are still in business, but hopefully they stay around because they are the best place for fish and chips in St. Albert!

Best fish and chips in Metro Edmonton area. Ordered a family pack to go comprising of 7 pieces of Atlantic Haddock, 3 large fries and a large coleslaw -all for only $54. I also requested additional 3 pieces for an up- charge of only $6 per piece and a large gravy. Total cost was less than $80. This Joey's location, under new ownership, is awesome. I've tried all the top places including Brit's, Grandin as well as Atlantic Kitchen at twice the price, but they do not even come close. Our haddock was a succulent 4 oz enveloped lightly with crispy not greasy light brown batter; and the chips were hot, crispy and not oily. Give this place a try -- you will not be disappointed !!

Edit: Trying our best to support local establishments and ordered food for pickup last week. No curbside, no tap, and the worst was the food was absolutely horrible. Tasted like left over previously cooked fish that wasn't sold, and warmed up in the fryer. Severely overcooked and fish was so thin all you could taste was hard batter. If this is what survival means for Joey's, you are not going to make it. Why would we ever go back? Not cool Joey's, not cool! Always consistent. Very good fish and chips! That's the only time I go there...
