Excellent food. Love the sweet and sour pork
Went for lunch. I had the dry chow mien covered with pukey sweet and sour saucy pork. Try the China sail next time.
Love the food but prices are way too much
Order from here all the time. Best chinese food in town!
Most definitely 5/5... The cute server said I was funny and made her day. Will go again and try get her number ????????. But in all seriousness, the food was good, they offer dim sum and it was actually good.
Great service, the waiter knows the menu very well and her suggestions were right on the money.
Always good food. People arw awesome there.
My go-to for Chinese takeout. Always fast and friendly service with good food to boot. Love it here!
Never again 2.5 Hrs and food was delivered cold, when I called to explain - the owner hung up on me.
Loved it. Great western style Chinese food. Had combo #12 it was huge. You definitely will not leave hungry
Used to be one of the best in town, last few years they've really went downhill. All their food tastes bland and generic any time I've ordered from them in the recent years. No longer will I order from them. Please go back to your old almond chicken recipe
Excellent cheap Chinese food. You know the kind I'm talking about.
Delicious Canadian Chinese food. Always reliable and super friendly service.
Steady good food quality. Fast and friendly service even if the restaurant is packed. We are coming back now for several years. Nice place to eat after shopping at Costco or JYSK. We are always ordering something different. Menu gives you many options.
I've ordered from them for years! The one time I have a complaint they got so nasty with me on the phone telling me I should order from somewhere else next time. Lost my loyalty. The noodles had black stuff on it and the shrimp was so over cooked and rubbery. :( Good thing there is a better place to order from. Boo at your customer service.
Good food. Only problem is the chop suey in the combinations is all vegetable with no meat option.
Went here on August 28th. Ordered a small wonton and their #8 meal which included chicken chow mein, sweet & sour pork, vegetable chop suey and deep fried prawns. The soup was hot and very good and the meal was served shortly after. Loved that the vegetables were crisp but the prawns had more breading then I like but were delicious.
Simply the best Chinese food in northern bc
Delicious and authentic Cantonese cuisine, served by professional and friendly service staff. Ample parking, really clean bathrooms, and a warm and welcoming dining experience! Can’t wait to be back again for our next event or family dining get together.
Good food, enough variety to keep things interesting.
Conbo 3 is prime for 1 person. Could probably feed 2 with it.
The ginger beef was lacking in flavor it was cold I only got 4 pot stickers in what was supposed to be a 6 pack very un satisfied
Food was amazing, service was outstanding and we got our food pretty quick..
Ordered wonton soup and egg rolls for pickup. Wonton broth was thin and tasteless; the wonton filling was mushy and flavourless. The egg rolls seemed like cake donut batter. Such a disappointment. It’s normally great when you eat it there.
Good food. Good service. Big group space.
Was good food and good service ok prices
One of the best Chinese restaurants in town.
The waitress was very nice and courteous. The food was a letdown. The sweet and sour pork I had was so dry it was as though I was eating dry leftover pork. The chow mein noodles were not cooked enough, also dry. To me, it was a waste of money today. The last time I ate sweet and sour pork it was tender, the reason I took the same thing tonight. Sorry but I won't be eating there again.
Friendly staff. Excellent selection. Varied menu. Large portions. Will recomend to everyone I know. Love Fortune Palace Restaurant.
Best Chinese food in town ????
Haven’t been in restaurant, so this is just for the food. Coming from Vancouver, we’re spoiled with fantastic options for Chinese food. I was ready to look down on the food here but was pleasantly surprised instead. Best Chinese food in Prince George.
Tonight I ordered pork chow mein. During the ordering process I said large pork chow mein three times. I just opened the bag and it's just fried rice!!!!! So mad. I have a big bag of rice at home if I wanted that and I'd pay just a fraction of the cost. Never eating here again. As bad as a McDonalds drive through. Have to open the bag and check the food before driving away.
A little hard to find our way into the parking lot, but once there service was awesome food was fantastic!
My shrimp chow mein had way too much soya sauce... I don't like soya sauce on chow mein. Felt like I was eating some ones leftovers. The mini egg rolls were almost empty... chicken in chicken chow mein was really salty, veggie chop suey was quite undercooked... almost not cooked. As well... no mushrooms or water chessnuts. Breaded almond chicken was ok. Less greasy but also less flavor than our usual chinese food pick. And quite expensive for what we received. Delivery was fairly quick and driver a young lady ???????? was polite and friendly. But not too much....won't be back. My stomach is upset... much too much salt...
The number 1 place for Chinese food in all of Northern British Columbia. Ever get a chance to come here eat here.
Great food! Nice to have a meal served by 2 lovely ladies that know how to smile
Great service and good food and clean place
Met friends for lunch. Because of Covid etc, we had not seen each other for a really long time. The staff was wonderful. Lunch was yummy and we spent time drinking tea catching up like girls do. Thanks Fortune Palace!
Amazing food and great service
Good food friendly servers and quick service
A quick lunch stop in PG. Chinese food and some western selections.
Good food, great service
Horrible delivery service it actually came fairly fast and we were kind of suspicious the rice was dried and old the honey garlic pork didn’t taste like honey garlic and there was a lot of extra sauce and same with the sweet and sour very bland no taste and we think it was old buffet food from dinner. Never order delivery from here.
For the past year now the quality has gone down. I will not go back anymore. It hasn't gotten better. It was my favourite restaurant. ????
Pretty tasty canadian-chinese food. Lemon chicken was thr highlight. Touch on the expensive side
Did takeout and food was really good as usual.
I love Fortune Palace! The food is amazing, and the service is very good. So make room for the schedule and feast!
Just no. Save your money. This place gives new meaning to the saying poopoo platter.
Wonderful authentic Chinese dishes. Today we had a black cod dish with a veggie hot pot selection and rice. Very flavourful, ample serving size, and great service!
The best food and fast service in town.
Ordered delivery, 2 dinners for one with deep fried prawns, it was decent the only thing I didn't like was the prawns being delivered with the whole meal made them on the soft/soggy side.
Good food..fast service
We've been eating here for awhile now. Always enjoyed the food. Today I found a hair in my eggroll! I don't think I can ever eat there again.
They should be embarrassed with what they're serving. Food should be made with love. Always. There is zero love here. Everything was bland, had little to no taste and honestly I thought their sauce could have easily been from a can. I just moved to PG from the Lower Mainland. I get that choice is limited but shouldn't that make it so restaurants really have to try for your business and hard earned money? I won't be back. Seriously, the owners and chefs should go elsewhere and try Chinese food. See how it's made. TASTE the variety of flavours and dishes, yours do not hold up. The chow mein was noodles and chicken for God's sake. I could have made this at home. And way better than that dismal food you served us, paying clients. I won't ever eat here again and judging by the comments on the other Chinese restaurants in town, I won't be going to any of those either. It's disgusting that you were voted the best. Best of the worst for sure. PS - your service was the only reason I even tipped. She did a great job.
1st time there. Ordered the crispy chow mein. Was really good. Seasoned well with a good amount of chicken and fresh veggies. Friendly staff. Not sure what the rest of the food is like but this dish was nice
The waitress served us very well, however, the chow mein was tasteless and the chicken is processed.....gross! The sweet and sour pork was tough to chew. The prawns were good and the spring rolls were excellent.
Just finished eating at Fortune Palace. Worst customer service I have ever experienced, and everything tastes like salt. SALTIEST FOOD in town. I asked if I could substitute Almond Chicken for Egg foo Young and was told "NO." I then asked why? The waitress responded because it is a BIG TICKET ITEM. When I asked what the egg foo young dish came with the waitress looked at me, rolled her eyes and said "gravy." No refills on our drinks, never asked if we wanted anything else. Won't be going back.
My family's favorite Chinese restaurant in prince george.
I’m new to Prince George and I’ve noticed that the Chinese food is lacking, this place is the worst of an already bad selection. Chicken Chow Mein literally is just 40 cent instant Ramen and superstore rotisserie chicken. No flavour. Well, it was salty, I guess salty is a flavour. Beef and Broccoli was boiled leathery beef and basically uncooked broccoli. No flavour and it was cold, not room temperature but cold. Curry fried rice was okay. Just okay. Spent $50. I know now to just stick to Japanese or Indian restaurants in Northern B.C. If I want some Asian food. At least they seem to take some pride in what they’re serving.
Great chinese food restaurant, slightly above average food. As for cleanliness, the place was immaculate. The service was also fantastic and the food came very fast. Will definitely be visiting again!
It's a good place to eat
Never had a problem with Fortune Place. all ways fresh, all ways hot. in house or delivery. i have been eating here for about 7 years.
I ordered beansprout chowmein and two springrolls from fortune palace. The springrolls were tasty and i enjoyed them but i found the chowmein to be lacking a little on the flavor. Service was very friendly and i was immediately greeted upon walking into the restaurant to pick up my order. The price was reasonable and portion size was on par with other Chinese restaurants in Prince George. Overall a good experience and meal but i just wished the chowmein was a little more flavorful is all.
The garlic ribs were okay, but too salty. The spring rolls were vegan, slimy and undercooked, the chow mein was all cut down to 1" lengths, tasted like dollar-store chicken boulion and was topped with sliced lunch meat, and the ginger beef wasn't ginger beef. It was stringy slices of lean beef overcooked, and doused with ginger powder. Nasty all around... guess all the good reviews were historical. This wasn't cheap.
We order from here often... we live beyond the delivery border so we order ahead for a specific time and everytime our food is hot and ready when we get there. The food is pretty great!
Best Chinese food in PG.... By far!! Highly recommended!!
Good Chinese cuisine. I love the spicy salty squid, beef chow fun, cantonese chow mein, and honey garlic pork. Reminds me of my dad's cooking and the Chinese Restaurant's in China Town in Vancouver BC.
Ordered for pickup. The sweet and sour pork was good, but the beef and broccoli was tasteless as it had no sauce and the chicken chow mein was very dry and sticking together.
Consistently excellent food, fair price, fast friendly service...
Good food good service Gorillamoves.ca
Ordered a takeout that was so messed up that I brought it back. Just left with no intention of ever coming back. They make you feel like you were the problem, not the messed up order. We used to eat here at least twice a month. Definitely not going back if this is how they treat their customers
Singapore noodles & Peking Duck was awesome, even better than I've had in Toronto!
Always a hit, great food, prices are on par, will continue to patronize the establishment!
This place is awsome, we were looking for Chinese food and dine in service and we thought about this place last for some reason. Service was excellent and the food was worth the wait because the vegetables were so fresh in the chop suey and the chicken balls were freshly made with BIG chunks of chicken breast and light batter and the chow mein and rice were spot on. Good service good food and an oasis on a hot day with the air conditioning I look forward to my next visit here
Excellent food!! Good tasting. Thank-you!!
Great food - best westernized version of Chinese food in PG. I like that they undersalt their items, as the food goes very well with soy sauce. The veggies are still crunchy and not over steamed. We started order from Fortune Palace last year and they are now our go-to! Phone them directly instead of using Skip or Doordash, so they don't lose 20% of their profits! Thanks for the delicious meals!
Will never order from this place, I'v ordered from them in the past and was very disappointed then and for some strange reason we ordered and they gave us the wrong order so had to drive across town to return it and told them we don't want our order anymore just refund our cash, when I arrived they tried to blame me for ruining the food, I said excuse me you gave me the wrong order. One thing I find about Fortune Palace is they're getting very good at apoligizing, how about making better food and not making mistakes, there are no excuses in the restaurant busines. unfortunately Palace I can't post NO STARS so no business from me.
Don't pay attention to any of the poor reviews on here, this place has excellent food and we will definitely be back for more. Veggies fresh and crispy, seafood was cooked to perfection and the noodles were perfect. Take out was perfect thanks.
Great food and fast service. Very reliable.
Great food, everytime. Very friendly staff and ambience in the dining room is awesome. Family friendly and good for large groups as well. Thank you!
Great atmosphere, great tasting food and have always had great service.
Always good, great food. Nice and friendly and very fast at serving you. Never have had a bad meal or experience here
Friendly service and great tasting food.
I ordered veggie chow mein. I got what looked like veggie chop suet. The veggies were raw. When I took them off the chow mein the chow mein was floating, literally, in oil. I called the waitress over to send it back and she actually gave me attitude. She didn’t apologize or offer to make it right. Will never eat there again!
Dine in
If you order a combo make sure to tell the people that you want separate containers the food gets pretty soggy by the time it gets to your house and the chicken is pretty chewy...
Probably the worst chinese food in town , not the first time we have ordered and have always been dissapointed. Would suggest eating raman noodles instead for a better "chinese experience "
Great food & service tonight, expensive tho
Chicken balls were raw. Everything else tasted like was under a heater lamp for a hour.
Excellent food and service. Especially enjoyed the First Nations Carvings that blesses the place with good fortunes and respects the land and out ancestors ☺
Edit: I can provide feedback for my experience and food. I've updated my rating from a 2 to 3 for your commitment to improve. I only ordered the chicken chow mein for dine in but the chicken was cold, plain, and salty (for my tastes). There were extremely little vegetables in the chow mein and would have liked some sauce on the chicken and some small amount of mixed veggies in the chow mein. The chow mein itself was good. The entire dish, including the noodles, was less than warm.
Place an order of pick up weekly/biweekly, always amazing service and good food
Egg roll was so good. Service was great.
I ordered a no 14 the prawns were doey chow main was mushy chop suey was raw and no sauce . The other order did not contain the sweet and sour pork i ordered it did have the rice and chowmein and vegtables i didnt want . Very dissappointing.
We ordered delivery. They told us it would be delivered within the hour. That was fine. After waiting over an hour I saw a young man walking around the back of our apartment building, our buzzers are in front of the building. After a bit there was a knock on our door....it was our dinner....finally. We opened right away and the food was barely luke warm. I called to complain and was told if I wanted it warm I should come eat in next time. Like hell I will....i will never order or go there again.
Delicious food, fast prep and order was right. And friendly staff
Go! Bring your friends! Order the garlic pok and the jumbo prawn hot pot .!!!!!
Loved the service I overheard the staff taking an order and they were so accommodating it was great
I havent eaten here but seeing the kind and thoughtful responses to even the most outrageous negative reviews I believe you deserve five stars. I will leave another review with my partner when we eat here. I look forward to trying your vegetarian options and your prices look very affordable!
Really good Chinese food. Definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants in town. The price is a bit higher, but it's worth it
Been coming here for years using take out. Have always been happy with food only one time did I not get my full order but they corrected the problem on my next vist. I would reconmemd this to any one that wants great food at a resonance price.
I ordered to pick up and checked it by glance. Now I'm home with raw pork.
Service
We were the only dine- in patrons.. service was a bit slower than expected, but friendly. Food was hot, delicious and generous porions.
Over priced for processed meats which takes little to no effort to serve up
it was ok , food taste Just ok..and seem expensive..
Average Chinese food good if you have a craving
Some of the best chinese food I've had. Clean restaurant and friendly service
The food and service was amazing. The dining area was immaculate. I recommend this establishment to anyone.
Always good food always stop in when we go to Prince George
Absolutely the best food here! Wheelchair friendly! Staff is friendly and always ready to help ! Great prices!
It was delicious just it took 30 minutes to get the food and there was only like 6 people there.
Was excellent, had the hotpot. Food was great. Best Chinese food in Prince George.
Staff is friendly and food is amazing good
Best Chinese when we come to town we always get
Very good westernized chinese as well as selection of more traditional dishes
My family and I went to the restaurant for a nice birthday dinner, but the food was disgusting. It was warm and seemed like it had been sitting on the counter all day. I had chicken chow mein, dry garlic ribs, honey garlic pork and vegetable chop suey. The chicken chow mein had a horrible taste to it, like they used yesterdays batch. The dry garlic ribs were overdone in the deep fryer and had garlic salt on it, instead of real garlic for flavour. A couple were good (besides the overly salted taste) but then most of them tasted like pure oil and dried out batter. The honey garlic pork was interesting... it looked like a pancake and it was smothered in sauce, just sauce overload. Were they trying to cover up how old the meat was? Lastly, the vegetable chop suey was the only part of the dish that I enjoyed. It wasn't over cooked or old. Also, one person that was with us got extremely sick after eating there. I think this restaurant needs a visit from a health inspector. I'm sure there are numerous of violations, and unsanitary practices based on how disgusting the food was.
Good food not the best Chinese I have had but good food none the less!
Great food, easy to get seated
Fresh food even near the end of their working day. Delicious crisp veggies, great chow mein, somehow their lemon chicken always stays crunchy despite being doused in that amazing sauce. Spicy prawns are fantastic as well, the batter is light and the peppers and spices are flavourful. They never forget to thank you for coming in either. I'm fine with "have a good one" but the staff really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome here.
Some of the order was good but the garlic pork was mostly ketchup and sweet and sour sauce yet no garlic. when I asked the waitress about the garlic, she offered to add onion. A new dish would have been nice. Who's this chair for in the men's room? am I supposed to bring a someone with me or was the bathroom attendant not working?
Poor delivery service was told a half hour to an hour it's now been an hour and a half and still no food
Excellent food great service for take out with covid protocol very freindly staff
Called ahead said 45 min then arrived they checked in my order 3 times but it was missed after 2 hours waiting I asked for my money back. They made me wait and tried saying they could not refund but did. I watched 3 other people get refunds for missed orders as well. Be careful they will miss your order say they check on it but it's not being looked after.
Love this place! Great service and fast food to the table! Have been multiple times and will definitely be back again. This is a great restaurant if you are looking for Chinese food.
Good food , no msg , excellent service , only 1 other Chinese restaurant, the wheel up on the hart can make food this good, you can't go wrong with the food at the palace !
Fortune Palace is the best place for Chinese anywhere in PG. The staff are always awesome as are the owners. I have a hard time believing some of the reviews on here because my experience has always been nothing but excellent!
My all time fave, a little late, but that's understandable. It is so good.
Our favorite Chinese food restaurant in PG. Quick service. Lots of take out. Good safety protocols in place for social distancing. The combination dinners for one are a sweet deal and they have variety of choices available.
Taste fresh and good service great place for group dinners or family dinner ???????????? My aunty took me here ???? Was so delicious ????
We ordered two of the hot pots for dinner, it was sooooo much food. We had two meals to reheat at home. The black bean and beef is so good my mouth is watering just thinking about it. My hubby had a jumbo shrimp hot pot and those are some nice big ol shrimp just donr really well, the staff is always friendly these no added msg and many menu options. Thanks for a great dinner, ps we went on a Sunday it was dead and great v.i.p service
I stated it was the one of the best in town, I went with friends. But my most recent visit, I brought my family and told them how great it is. I was made a fool, it was terrible! Never going back!
The amount of food for its price is very great. Food was good and good service. Authenticity and simplicity is how I would describe this place.
Great Meal...lots of extra food to take home after we were stuffed. Great staff, coffee always full.
The food was served cold. When I said that the food was served cold, the staff was extremely rude and said that this is how it is supposed to be served COLD. They were like there's nothing we can do! Absolutely rude and unprofessional staff. Unpleasant experience.
From Prince Gastronome I was apprehensive returning to the gastronomic “Thunderdome” that is Chinese cuisine. My appetite and my colon fought a desperate battle of wills for control over my culinary desires. The decision was made easier by my lack of transportation this week, with my Evolution currently wedged onto Fountain Tire car jacks to get re-shoed. It was either Westwood Pup or a protracted trek through slush to Fortune Palace, often lauded as the best Chinese restaurant in Prince George, the claim is uncontested, probably because the best Chinese restaurant in Prince George is analogous to the best Dixie Chick; no one cares. Fortune Palace is cursed with a location that appears advantageous, but is actually somewhat frustrating. Located off-highway, it is difficult to notice from the distant lane and once you see it from the adjacent lane; you’ve already missed its only entrance, forcing you to drive nearly two kilometres up a hill to the next intersection. Palace does benefit from in impressive exterior, with tall spreads of glass fringed by an immense parking lot, which was, as you might expect, empty. The interior compliments the outer first impressions. The tables are nicely space with friendly employees covered in traditional garb, meaning threads no one in China wear anymore outside of a period film. Fortune palace carries one distinction not shared with anyone else. It offers dim sum. I am compelled to set the way back machine to 2007. Despite being nearly bankrupt, I thought it beneficial spend my last few coins on a vacation in China. I had an assignation waiting and it had been a country I’d always desired to see. Through it all, I never once devoured anything found on a Westernized Chinese menu. Not one chow mein or egg foo young. The majority of the time, I had dim sum. I not only have not found any places offering dim sum in town, but the frozen variety I did manage to locate paled in comparison. Despite having tried the dim sum at Fortune Palace before, I decided to repeat the experience for the sake of this article. Before the plate arrives, I ordered a bowl of won ton, and thank the Monkey King that Fortune Palace doesn’t follow Great Wall’s example. The broth has flavour and the wontons share the bowl with vegetables and cuts of indentified beef. |Good enough for me. The dim sum that does eventually arrive strangely matches the frozen variety you can purchase far cheaper from the local Chinese store, so much so, that I wonder why anyone would waste their time and money paying a place to cook it for them. Plus, for 10.75, you don't get a lot of food. You get one egg-roll, 4 pot stickers, two XX, and 2 shrimp dumplings. I get can more sushi for that price. I could have easily have finished off two plates with enough room for a dozen fortune cookies. I am sure they’re regular menu is superior to their competition, so goes the claims made by friends and family. On those grounds, Fortune palace deserves your attention, by any other measure that there is no other Chinese restaurant for miles. Approaching from the South, Fortune Palace would be your first taste of Asian cuisine past the city limits, with your next stop being Great Wall three minutes away, down another highway. Despite not comparing these restaurants on an equal culinary baseline, I can still confirm the claim that Fortune Palace would be the preferred location. I would just avoid the dim sum; it’s borderline larceny. Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Presentation: 4/5 Value: 2/5 Recommendation: /5
Chinese is as Chinese does. All what you would expect from an average Chinese restaurant. Good service and seems to be above average in cleanliness. Nothing to write home about and not likely to return. Nothing worse than trying to enjoy some Sweet & Sour Lean Pork and trying to chew through the gristle. For the price we had to pay, we expected just a bit more. : (
The reheated Sweet and Sour Pork was hot on the outside, and cold on the inside. I feel ripped off for what I pay compared to what I get, for crappy microwaved food. I've had take-out from there twice, and I would rather drive 15 kms away to get something else, which I do often.
By far best Chinese food in town. I have loved everything I've tried. My favourite dish is the spicy salted spawns!
Excellent food every time! Hot tip: if you do a phone order and they say 20-30 minutes; it’s usually ready and hot a bit earlier!
Fortune Palace is my favorite Chinese food restaurant in PG.
Always good food. Service is very pleasant.
Loved the food and they have a gluten free menu
Nice staff and dining room. Average dim sum but excellent hot and sour soup. Regular Chinese food is good
Food is always excellent with fast and courteous service. This is the only place for good Chinese food! :)
Good food and service
Consistently great food over a lot of years. I highly recommend this place.
Excellent food; fantastic service
I was new to town 4 years ago, thought I'd check it out...wasn't impressed by the food at all...went there today, absolutely disgusting, the food was luke warm almost on the cool side, the chicken in my rice tasted like a metal tin can..it's probably chicken that was canned in China 20 years ago..I would highly suggest you drive on by....in all honesty I haven't had anything this gross since the last time I was there....GROSS!!!!
Dining room was super clean and staff were very friendly. Food was a bit bland but still quite good, not very salty like a lot of chinese.
Great food great inside fast best place ever
Color me impressed. Good, hot food, at a bargain price.
Hands down the worst customer service ever. The manager can't read apparently and argued with me that my food didn't take 2 hours to arrive. COLD!! Then called me back putting words in my mouth and rescinded the credit she had just given me. Unreal! Will not be giving them any business again.
Take out wasn't what it used to be I had chopsuey and fried rice the blend of vegetables was completely a hash Hamble if vegetables could be at war this is what it would taste like you need the old cheif back NOW !!!!!!
A great amount of food was ordered at Fortune Potune a pallace with Lisa Marie Jack , Alen Wale , Spencer Jack Maanne Jack.
Always good a little more bucks but well worth it!
The ribs are questionable, best chicken balls I've ever eaten, a bit expensive but I'd for sure go back, skip the ribs tho
asked for a couple of tweeks in our food...half sauce and veggies cut up smaller....were told to go else where if you don't like our way...finished over cooked chicken balls to find over one eighth inch of lard at bottom of dish....and overpriced to boot.....sorry but this gwylo go elswhere
This is great food...great staff...always fresh and tasty.
The food is delicious and I love noodles! There’s also lots of options and yummy foods for kids.
