I believe that I just went there on an off night for the staff. Food was great! The service was nonexistent. We were passed over for the table behind us even though we were there 5 minutes before them. Forgot to take our food order. Didn't get silverware ..forgot our dips...we wanted another drink..didn't get that..sat with finished plates for 30 minutes while the servers all walked by us...never got a bill...had to go up to the bar...and took the food home we wanted to bring with us in napkins. Never had a dinning experience so bad..been here before and it was great. We will not go back for sometime..hope they work this out.

An underrated little corner pub with amazing dishes that look as good as they taste. The service was friendly and so quick. The waitress we had was so thoughtful and super quick. Just a great place to bring a bunch of friends and hang out.

We are in the hospitality industry ourselves and know what to look for when it comes to pleasing our guests. Our server last Thursday afternoon was great. Our drinks were never empty, food came out blazing hot and fast, and even tracked me down an iphone charger. The Yorkies are ridiculously good. Keep up the good work

The food and service is VERY hit and miss, but that being said, everything here is affordably priced. EDIT: In the last year, the BX has drastically upped there service and food. I would definitely recommend this place for a night out to the pub.

I've been here a few times over the years and more recently, today. Friday at noon, it was busy and not overly loud, I could hear my girlfriend speaking at room volume. We ordered an appetizer that was twice as big as we'd expect. When we decided to get a single burger and fries afterwards the server asked if we were sharing then brought us the meal on 2 plates, split up with a full serving of fries each. Kind staff, friendly atmosphere, good cost per dollar and great service!

Went there today to have a late lunch and sit on the patio. We asked for water just until we decided what we wanted to eat. We sat there for 20minutes and no one came to take our order. When we went to leave they didn't even know we hadn't been served! Saying in a polite tweaker voice....Biiiyyýyyy... Very surprised about the service, hope its a 1off...the waitress and the hostess were squabbling so perhaps thats why??

We go to this pub often, because the food is pretty good. However we always freeze there in the summer, because the AC is full blast. We have complained, but it falls on deaf ears. “There is nothing we can do” REALLY? Guests are dressed lightly in summer, also it cools off in the evening, so we all bring sweaters and still we all sit there and shiver. They are stubborn about keeping the AC on and it’s 16 to 17 degrees - to darn cold!

Usually the food, atmosphere, and staff are great but I don't suggest going in the evening. I went for dinner and was not offered a menu or told what the specials were, I was not asked how my food was, we waited about 20 minutes for a straw, and the BX burger I ordered WITHOUT tomatoes came WITH tomatoes, barely any cheese and my bun was burnt. Very disappointed.

Soooooo good. Love the food here. Wish there was a place like this in vanderhoof. ** second review** I must add..I will not come here on weekends anymore. The servers are better during the week.. I went here yesterday ( saturday March 7 ) it was fine until I got home and opened the boxes of leftovers.. not only did I get my food but I also got all the bones from chicken wings and dry ribs. So I take 2 stars off.

The waitresses were super rude and confrontational. We were in town for a funeral, and a friend of ours wanted to take us here to eat dinner the night before. We went in and our friend asked if there was any seating for 5 available or available soon. She barked at him "I dont know, go look", and turned around to talk to another waitress. Our friend went to go look for seating and the rest of us waited for him to come back. We were then told by wait staff that we had to wait outside because we were in the way of "real customers". Our friend came back and there wasn't any seating. The waitress refused to add us to a seating list, and told us to just stand outside and keep coming in to walk around the restaurant to look for tables for 5. All this, while they sat other groups. We ended up leaving and eating dinner elsewhere.

The BX is a great place to stop in after a hockey game. The beer is always cold and the food will fill you up. I'm not sure who the chef is, but he obviously takes pride in what he does. The tough part though is that the parking here is somewhat limited.

Went to a restaurant prior to coming here, and after receiving a terrible service there, the BX was a breath of fresh air. The waitress was outstanding from the moment we sat down to the moment she called us a cab and wished us a good night. Definitely would recommend coming here with some friends to have a good time. Drinks are great, didn't order appies this time around but have had them before and they're delicious. Thanks again for making our night out!

Great place to go with friends to share a beer and conversation. Can get busy on Friday evenings. There's ample seating with bar seating, floor seating and two levels (with outside decks on both); all pool tables are now upstairs (if you're mobility challenged this may prove to be an issue). Fast, attentive staff. "Peaceful" atmosphere not guaranteed, as you may have some inebriated folk yelly-talking - so if you want a quiet romantic dinner or a deep, quiet conversation [obviously] pick somewhere else. If you want to have a fun pint, shoot some pool, have a fat greasy burger, massiv nacho tray or some predictable appy's at routine prices, check it out. No dance floor. No DJ. WYSIWYG. There's a liquor store right next door if you want to take the party elsewhere and the Petro Can gas station if you're out of darts.

Don't get the deep fried pickles. Was a small sliced pickle that was mainly batter. Gross. Burgers are good though and so are their caesers. Great staff too

Was there for a party and they only served half the table then when they served the other half of the table it was almost 45 minutes later and their food was not correct. The food had looked and tasted like it had been sitting there for the 45 minutes it was missing. One of the items was a SALAD and it took that long. First and last time I will ever set foot in this place.

I came here late last spring while travelling through. The bar food was good. The service was great. It is not so common any more to find an experienced, trained server. If I had a restaurant in PG I would try and poach her. If the rest of the staff are half as good I guarantee a great experience.
