First time visiting Powell River. Man these guys are awesome and have the best fishing knowledge around! Go see Sam and his team of amazing people! Darcy was great, everyone was great! Their staff obviously like only the locals and are rude to the customers who came from out of town. I doubt they would scream “it’s pandemic, you’re not supposed to touch stuff” to one of the locals as they screamed on me when chosing some buzz bombs. They clearly know I will never return so why not to release some of their small town mentality towards me (and others passing by).

I will not go back. Went in to but a simple deterrent to help protect me and my dog in the bush...the salesman there actually turned me off of going around Westlake due to an over abundance of bear and wolves...I think he was just trying to make a sale and get me to buy the more expensive deterrent. Well now I am scared to go back in the bush by myself...thanks for nothing salesman now I will just do my shopping elsewhere probably on line....thanks for nothing

Definitely must drop by this place if fishing. Manager will give you local insight, set you up with used gear for a few dollars or get you the professional gear you need. I just landed a 12-pound salmon kayaking in the bay on his advice. Tks a lot!

Really nice staff, treated me very well today, treated me good last year too when I was in. Good selection of products for the size of the store, alot of fishing gear, lots of hiking/camping gear, decent little selection of guns and ammo as well. Good prices. Would definitely recommend stopping in and checking it out if your outdoorsy.

What a great place for information on local fishing. My wife & I just dropped in and got a tutorial on trout fishing in the area that was so informative & exciting I almost considered changing plans and moving here! We spoke with "Tarzan" (not his real name, but descriptive) at length. He was more than happy to spend time with us & his love and knowledge of the area was infectious. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience at this store. The owner and staff were so friendly to us and our kids. I would highly recommend this store to any outdoorsman as the staff here are knowledgeable as well and the prices here are also very reasonable. We also loved hearing their stories about their fun adventures. 5 stars all the way!
