Friendly atmosphere. We ordered our food to go.. the fish cakes (advertised as being the best in town) were good- just not to die for. Definitely recommend ordering one of their homemade cinnamon rolls!

Huge portions, kind of expensive for average food. Chowder was OK, and chicken fettucini. Fish cakes tasted like unseasoned potatoes. Disappointed that it calls itself a tea room with very little tea selection or knowledge from staff.

This sleeper of a place was just amazing. Loved the food, I tried the Acadian fisherman's platter, and it delicious. The soup was good as is soup in most places out in the matiyines but the food was light and plentiful. The two types of fish with the green tomatoe chow was great. The dessert was very tempting but would have been too much for lunch. Service was good and the food was made to ordered so it will take some time after your order but well worth it. It is tucked into the strip mall next to Sobeys. If you liked the green tomatoes chow chow they get it from the sobeys. I had gone over there afterwards and got a big jar as I have never had it before. I though it was a chutney, turns out it is good with more than just fish cakes. It was good with bread products and very good with some home made sweet potato donuts.

Worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant. My soup tasted as if it was out of a can. My gf sandwich was dry and very unenjoyable. My sons pasta was 3 different types of noodles. My husband's seafood chowder was watery with such little season food. The price vs the quality was nowhere near acceptable.

Friendly staff and great old photos on the walls. Can't say much else that's positive. I ordered a salad that, at best, maybe resembled something I'd throw together at home if on a time crunch. Not something that should be served in a legit restaurant. My boyfriend had a burger with coleslaw and home fries. It was fine but nothing special. We paid extra for things that, per the menu, were included with our meals. Not impressed at all. Save your money for food at a real restaurant with a legit chef.

The food was hot, fresh, well prepared, and tasty. The service was warm, friendly, and super efficient. I had left the lights on in my car while we ate, and one of the servers tracked down a patron who could give me a boost. Talk about super service! A MUST TRY dining experience.

The thing I love about this place was, It was alive and full of people. Seems like people here are connected to this place. It really made that environment so much positive. The menu is full of local dishes and price's aren't too high. Representative here are so sweet, I was taking more time for my order and she touched my shoulder like known and lovely said take your time. Quantity is dangerous here, I mean I had a breakfast and didn't felt hungry for the whole day, It's totally a worth to take a visit whenever you're on Cape Breton tour. .

May give here a 3.5 Stopped in here for breakfast on a drizzly Saturday morning over the Xmas holidays, while driving from Antigonish to Sydney. I'd never heard of it before until a friend told me he had stopped in a day or two prior, so I made it a mission to check out. Bonus that it's in a strip mall so lots of free parking. The place may seat 40 or so? It was less than half full when I arrived and I took a table near the rear of the room. Basic tables, nothing fancy about the atmosphere, some local photos on the wall. Friendly staff. I was impressed with the menu as it has a lot of options, which is hard to make a decision when extra hungry. Ended up going with the French Toast Classic for $9.99 (1 slice with two eggs, home fries & choice of meat...I got the bacon). The home fries are sliced thin and wide in the style that they would be for scalloped potatoes and it all had good flavor, and was willing. I'd love to stop in again the next time I'm passing through and maybe try the fish cakes. Lunch/supper looks like it has some decent items as well. Like to support small businesses like these.

This is a homestyle diner serving simple, good food. If you want a full restaurant experience then you might want to visit elsewhere. However, if fresh ingredients, simple relaxed atmosphere, large portions and a full belly are what you value, then give it a try. Again, this is not gourmet dining, but comfort food at its best.

My husband and I went for lunch last week. He got the breakfast and I ordered fish and home fries. He was shocked at the small amount on my plate. I had 1 very small piece of soggy fish, 4 slices of a potato which were also soggy and about a guarter cup of turnips with 3 slices of carrot. It was terrible. His breakfast eggs were almost raw, sausage not cooked properly and soggy potato also. We are hoping that we just had a bad experience which doesn't occur often. Will not recommend as a lunch stop. Sorry.

I like this local diner in Port Hawkesbury, always busy at lunch, nothing fancy, just good d comfort food - corn beef and cabbage, seafood chowder, meat pie. All very fine. Humble setting, simple and excellent.

Visited here on a Friday afternoon without reservations but we were lucky as at the time of our arrival they had a few tables open. We got two of the Maritime platters and the coconut cream pie. It was also amazingly delicious! Staff was fantastic too.

I wasn't convinced when I saw the place, because it looked like an average dinner place. But the food was excellent! I took the chicken fajitas with the fleur-de-lys salad, it was super tasty. It's a big plate so I was full for a while. I also took an apple muffin - so delicious! It's really worth it. It was a little bit pricy in my opinion, bu then I enjoyed everything I ate so I don't feel like I lost money.
