Its hard to properly review this place considering the experience changes drastically depending on who is working. The man who I am assuming is the owner has always been very kind and quick to help. On the other hand, the lady with the long hair is absolutely horrible. She claims to be super knowledgeable about reptiles but has given me false information and made me feel like a totally idiot when I ask her questions and almost feel like she is attacking when I would question her facts. She is super rude, if I see that she is working, I'm tempted to turn around and leave. I strictly go to the reptile kingdom now for my snake needs. Much nicer, better prices and they seem to have their facts straight.

Was either lied too to make a buck or staff member had no idea about fish they have in stock... Not impressed. Tanks are kept in poor condition, I saw quite a few floating and others very life less, something you don't want to see when shopping for a new fish.

Buy my Oscar's, African Chilids and other aquarium fish here. Amazing and healthy pets. Just recently settled out my norm for an Axoloft. She is beautiful and easy to care for. Will be back to purchase a playmate for her. Amazing staff and clean environment. Well knowledgeable and patient. Never pushes purchases and ensures all pet owners are knowledgeable about the animals they purchase as they care where the animals go. Friendly environment and will recommend to anyone. We also just recently purchased two dwarf frogs to add to our family. ♡

Really disappointed with this pet store. The Birds, the rodents and the fish are very badly taken care of. One of the rat cages was full of rats and had terrible conditions. The fish room absolutely stinks I couldn't believe how poorly they were taken care of. The Budgies I felt really bad for them, they were generally very quite which is very unusual for budgies as they are very vocal birds. NOT one bird had a cuttlefish bone which is essential for all birds to stay healthy. If you are looking for a pet store to buy any kind of pet I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE.

The FISH GUY that handles the fish and the tanks I didn't see one dead fish in the tanks no sick fish fresh or saltwater fish the live plants look very nice very clean clear water I actually got a 10 gallon there along with orange neon gravel for a crayfish I am going to get also the prices on the frozen fish food is amazing 5.00 for 32 cubes 100% shopping here again animals looked healthy doesn't looked suspect

The brunette is very rude and just flat out ignorant, there animals are kept kind of poorly but average for pet stores, in the fish room the man who runs it is very intelligent and seems friendly, prices are decent. But the customer service could definitely be upgraded

First off, Niagara Pet Corner isnt a big chain store, so if thats what you're expecting, you'll be disappointed. That being said, this is a great store. They sell all the essentials and then some! They also have a better reptile section than most stores in Welland. The staff are always very friendly when I go in. Even when I make miniscule purchases like crickets fir my reptiles or feeder minnows fir my Piranha who was also purchased here when it was only a tiny baby - now much much larger. The woman who works there with the long hair is always extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about her animals. She has a "pet first" kind of attitude which is amazing because it's nice to know that she cares about the animals. It just tells me that they aren't in the pet trade to make a quick buck and that makes me feel good shopping here. Definitely the best option in Welland for all my pets needs.

Took our conure here for a wing trim, completely botched and destroyed her wings, vet told us worst job they had seen. The irritation to the wings by the hack job caused our bird to pick out all her remaining wing feathers. Do your self a favor and don't take your birds here

Awesome Customer Service! Called an hour before store was due to open during the Covid 19 Pandemic looking desperately for kittrn formula for newborn kittens whose Momma was very ill and unable to feed them. He allowed me to come and pick up before they even opened as i was in Welland already and on my way back home to Niagara. Just SO Thoughtful!! I just can't put into words how grateful i am for their compassion and thoughtfulness during these very taxing times.

This small business seems to have advanced knowledge in caring for many species of reptiles, fish, birds, and rodents. For dogs and cats there are certainly more diverse stores, but for small creatures this may be your one stop spot. The employees at this location are family orientated and skillful animal keepers.

Absolutely disgusting.. bought a chinchilla there, the lady sold me the wrong cage, along with not giving me any information on the proper housing and care for this animal. I called back the next day asking for a possible return/fix and trying to explain this situation to the guy he cut me off saying 'I don't believe she did that.' Very poor customer service, very ignorant people. Please save yourself the stress and deal with a pet store that cares about their customer satisfaction.

I went in to look for some fish and I was absolutely disgusted and ashamed at what I heard out of the owners mouth. It was earlier in the day so it seemed that only he was there. I spent a little bit looking around waiting to be assisted but the owner was too busy chatting away with a delivery driver! I started making my way over and he said he was going to be awhile. Now I'd understand if it was business and customer related however it was not. I had stopped nearby because something on the shelf had caught my attention however as I was standing there the owner said "I think that women in the USA are over reacting about the sexual assault stuff going on" he then proceeded to say "A little smack on the bottom or behind is not that big of a deal and people need to calm down a bit" not only was that completely unprofessional, disgusting, and disrespectful but embarrassing! I would not recommend bringing your children here if you don't want them hearing inappropriate comments from a "professional store owner"

Best pet shop around Welland area! They have what you need and if they don't have it they can tell you where to get it. Somethings are pricy and somethings are a good deal depends what your buying. Passionate pet lovers work here

Extremely disappointed with the service of this store, the fish manager in particular. I was informed that because I didn't keep the bodies of shrimp that had passed away less than 24hrs after purchase that I couldn't be helped and it was my fault I didn't store them in my freezer and bring them in when he was available (called the next day and he wasn't in) as well as not being informed by the associate on the phone about this "policy". Was insulted and treated extremely poorly by the "fish manager" and told this is my fault as he refused to show any sort of sympathy towards the situation. Unprofessional and disgusting services.

I got my ferret from them a few weeks ago and I was told she was a female. I’m now finding out that it is a male. Just would’ve been nice to know the right gender right away, instead of thinking it was a female. I still love him so much but now I just have to change his name. Apparently they can’t tell the gender difference there.

We get our crickets for our White's Tree Frog here, fish food and other pet supplies like light bulbs for the terrarium etc. Great service and like I said friendly, knowledgable staff that seem happy to help with questions. Nice staff, alright selection but what bothered me was there was a cage with 2 chinchillas balanced on a cardboard box that nearly tipped each time they would climb to the platforms. (Cage was far too small for 2 animals of that size.)

****DO NOT get your birds wings clipped here, absolute hack job, so aggressive, clearly not qualified to be providing this service. VET SAID IT WAS THE WORST WING CLIP HE HAD EVER SEEN. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews! The staff there are friendly and helpful when I need them. They clean the cages daily and always have food and water for their animals. I walk in and get what I need with fair prices. Only con is that they don't give birds, rabbits, and small animals fruits or veggies, but what do you expect?

Well, store isn't the worst, not saying much, smell isn't best could be a lot cleaner, I will admit that sales person was pretty helpful with me however and gave me a lot of info on what I was looking for. I did feel bad for all the rats, I myself kept rats as pets when I was a kid I was sad to see the condition they were in and one tank labeled " breeder rats" too many rats in tank

This place has a really good selection of pet supplies, the workers are ok but their education level with animals isn’t 100% accurate.. We wanted to add a buddy for our single tailed goldfish, I asked If we could keep a black moor with it, he said it would be no problem they’d get along just fine. His exact words, ‘all gold fish get along’.. Hearing that we decided to get one trusting his knowledge.. but after 3 days the moor ended up staying in a corner not moving or eating because of the single tail being to fast, intimidating and eating all the food. We looked into it further, after reading many things, they are no where near suitable to live together for many reasons. We decided to take it back because at this point the fish will die. After explaining this to the same guy who told us it was ok to house them together, he was saying they don’t do refunds on fish. At this point we weren’t worried about getting the 10$ refund at all we just didn’t want it to die. Ended up with 10$ store credit, but considering the circumstances and the false information given to us it shouldn’t have been so hard to return the 10$ fish when if your a pet store the animals well being should come first.
