This was my new favourite place to eat while visiting Pictou , but not anymore, went there in August with my family for my birthday meal , let’s just say I won’t be able to talk any of them into going back for a second time , The food the service and the portions were very disappointing to say the least . And it is a shame they might’ve been having a bad day but in the food industry if you don’t make sure your customers leave happy they won’t be back.

The fish and chips here were amazing, for 15.50 I had a three piece and I was over full when I left. The place was also full of lots of decorative sailing stuff all over aswell. I'd go back anytime I am in the area.

The food here is beautifully delicious. The wait staff helped my family gathering last minute. And even pushed all the tables together and did a superb job of serving the food and drinks to the respective people who ordered them. There is a wide variety of home cooked like meals. This place caters to kids, adults and seniors alike.

I didn't enjoy my meal. It was probably the worst poutine and garlic bread I have eaten. Plain slices of bread with cheese and bacon is not my idea of garlic bread. We paid over 30.00 for an order of 2 piece fish and chips, poutine, garlic bread and chocolate milk and a pop. Not worth it in my opinion.

I don't go to the Sailor's Galley very often, but when I do, it's always great. I really enjoy their fish & chips. Have taken my parents there for special occasions, and they enjoyed it as well.

What can I say. Basic family style restaurant with great fish and chips. Not a long wait. Only downside is that it is small, so if it is full the wait could be long.

Service was good. Seafood chowder was excellent and garden salad was great but the whole clams were ridiculous. Small baby clams dried out terrible in a little dish.

Worst hot chicken ever, cold food, without any flavor. Mushroom soup and service were good, but they charged me 5$ more for the soup. Cashier was rude and did not seem to care about this.

I have been going to the sailors galley for some years now and I have always found that the food is delicious and service is exceptional. As busy as they are the waitresses are friendly, talkative, intelligent and pleasant.

My husband and I popped in for a quick lunch. The waitress had a mask on as did we, and we sat down. Throughout the short time I stayed before I walked out, a total of 9 people walked by our table to pay with no mask. Many also went to the washroom unmasked. When my husband asked why this was allowed, she said her boss told them not to say anything to anyone. No mask sign at the door either. I left my meal on the table and walked out, and we will never go back. Shame on them.

We were here once last year and the food and service were impeccable. We couldn’t wait to return! Came in today and I’m not sure what has happened but I have never had such an awful experience at a restaurant in my life. Firstly our server spilled a glass of water on our table and partially on my husband which honestly wasn’t a big deal except she didn’t bother to say anything. She just walked away. Came back with a new glass and mopped the floor but no apology or extra napkins. Three of us ordered the seafood platter. They are $25 each. My plate was pan seared (requested) and all my seafood was over cooked and crunchy. I receive a VERY small portion of fish, two scallops and two shrimp. I couldn’t have pan seared clams so they took $3 off my $25 plate. My potatoes and carrots were tasteless and my water tasted like chlorine. My husband’s beer and my mother’s pop were served warm. My mother’s platter came without the scallops which they did rectify when mentioned. No one checked to see if we needed anything, we had to stop the server and ask for the tartar sauce that was supposed to come with the plates. They brought one very small serving. We had to ask for more. The burger for my daughter came so dry and overcooked she couldn’t eat it and there were no toppings on it. It was 30+ degrees today and they didn’t have the air conditioning running or the fans on. No one came to see if we wanted desert the server just walked by and slapped the bill on the table. It was honestly just outrageous and utterly disappointing. The other server did try her best it seemed but our original server couldn’t have cared less. And the food was truly awful and the portions were pathetic for the price. I wish I would have said something while we were there but it didn’t seem like it would be well received and no one really asked us anyways.

Huge portion for fish and chips. Tasted great for the price! Tap water did taste weird but the server warned us. Tried the seafood platter with mash potatoes and carrots as well and it was ok but prefered fish and chips way more. Chowder was just ok.

Ordered my daughter a cheeseburger with just ketchup, got a burger with only mustard and relish. Told the server and she took away the burger and brought it back with the mustard and relish scraped off and still no cheese. If you want a blackened steak sandwich, tons of fries and no seafood, this is your spot. Terrible food and service. Would not return.
