Love the food there and not just that I use to work for Mr. Greg Howard the food is great and Greg makes his own batter for the fish another thing to it is cooked in front of you. I guarantee it's great I should know I was a waitress/Server and loved my job there.

Fantastic seafood. Good portions of high quality fish. Schooners doesn't skimp on the details that make a great Fish and Chips. Even my brother in law from the UK agrees, and he had the clam chowder in Boston last week. Bravo!

I had cod/fries combo and my friend had shrimp/fries combo. They were....OK. Nothing was salted also so it was kind of bland. The server was surly... not necessarily discourteous... she said her please and thank yous but wasn't particularly friendly. It was hot as hell in there too. Cute decor. The cook was nice and sweet though. Overall if I had the choice, I probably wouldn't give it another shot.

My favourite restaurant in The County. It has, no doubt in my mind, the best Fish & Chips I've ever had. On top of that it's served in the classic newspaper style. The Cook and owner, Greg, is a delight to talk to whilst waiting (and watching) your food cook (pre-covid ofc.). Also I would highly recommend the deep-fried cheese curds.

A small Fish and Chips shop I was passing on my way through town. It's in a converted house so the layout is small and odd in a few spots with enough slants on the floor to make you feel like your walking along the deck of a ship! The waitress didn't seem to be in a good mood that day but we all have bad days so originally I had chalked it up to a one off experience, however after looking at some other reviews afterwards grumpy servers seem to be normal here. The food was good and the prices were what I'd expect.

Good serving for the price! Food is prepared swiftly, with four white fish options to be battered (cod, haddock, Pollock, halibut). The serving staff though could put on a smile while serving, it would make the dining experience much more amicable.

Was there with my mom today, Fri June 14th 2013, first time for me being there. I had just a piece of Haddock, Mom had Haddock and chips. The food was good, but the welcome and service from the waitress left much to be desired. No smile, no greeting, no welcome, pretty much "what would you like?", brought the food, no 'you're welcome' when WE being polite people said thank you, didn't come to see how everything was... needless to say, no tip was given. I wonder if they are a family run joint, because I can't imagine anyone actually hiring her if they aren't family. I'd have their food again, but would never eat in. I'd get take out. Mom said that is the first time that she's had terrible service there. The cook was friendly, he chatted with a few of the patrons, but the waitress, Ugh.

I had the cod and chips for $7.50, and a small bowl of clam chowder for $4. The cod was okay, batter could have been better but it wasn't the worst I've had by a long shot. The clam chowder - SUPERB! I would return for that alone. One of the things I love about clam chowder is that no two restaurants have the same recipe, they usually have their own variations. I have rarely been disappointed in the many I have had, but some stand above the rest and this was one in my opinion. The surroundings are cozy and the washrooms are clean.

If you only do fish and chips you need to make sure you do both well. Fish was reasonable and chips were poor. We went to see the grumpy lady, which we did, but our server was a very nice and helpful tall guy. He went out his way to be helpful. Decor is poor with the place needing a lot of love. Thanks

The fish is specially selected and cut fresh. The fries are also cut fresh. It is a classic family restaurant with take out available. I enjoy my dinner there as regularly as I can each Friday. Very reasonable and certainly super tasty. My family and friends have also come to love it and come out anticipating eating some Schooner's.

For a little town near the Sandbanks and along lake Ontario this place was neat. All cooked right in front of you while the establishment is made out from a old house. Atmosphere has a sailor look and very well decorated. Fish was juicy with every bite, fresh hand cut fries. Good way to end a awesome swim at Lake Ontario.

The space is cozy and original. You get a sense of the many years this little place has been serving up some great seafood. And it is. Super delicious. Would be nice to get the coleslaw with the fish and chips instead of having to order it extra on the side. But, its a price worth paying, cause everything tastes great. We will be back!

Love the decor in this little place. The mariner's spirit is strong here. The fish and chips are pretty darn good for the price. The service is ok... not spectacular but not horrible either. It is definitely the place to go for fish and chips while in Picton.

When the original owner of this fish and chip restaurant worked here, it was most certainly one of the best to be found. Now that it has been passed down, the fish is smelly and half cooked, the chips are soaked in grease/oil. This will be my last purchase from this place.

Fish and chips was pretty decent with a pleasant sitting area outside. The lady working there was absolutely miserable, looked like she hates everybody who comes in to bother her. It was so ridiculous that it was actually funny!! Reasonably priced. Would go again.

Possibly the worst service my family has ever had. Our order took over 45mins to arrive then they forgot my sons order and proceeded to serve 2 other tables while he sat there. Took an additional 20mins for him to get his food. They offered no compensation for their error. Will never go back

This is a family owned outlet. At least that's what the cook / server / owner told me. Had shrimps and chips while my wife had fish. All good except that it's open only three days a week, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Service is horroble and unorganized. Lady that works there is rude on the phone and in person. She was rude to the customer and cook during our visit. The food is over priced and over cooked. As well, the fish portions were half that of any other Fish n Chips place I've been. Spent over $50 here, but the same meal is under 30 in Belleville and they even give you coleslaw in Belleville. Next time I want fish n chips I'll be driving to Belleville to Captain George's .
