My family and I LOVE Two Dishes Cookshop. It's a great spot to grab a meal or some tasty treats. Their baked goods are sooo good. We've always had a great experience there, even when it's busy. Trust me when I say, it's worth the wait. One thing I will add though is that sometimes they change the menu. I personally love the variety and changing things up but just something to keep in mind.

Liana Orlovskaya

Always the best experience. Fresh ingredients and home style healthy food

Paul Brown

Good food! Service was great. Love that they had water at the table as you are sitting down. Soup was one of the best I have ever had. Wife ordered the country chicken. She said "it's like Thanksgiving on a plate!"

JoAnne Billone

What a great little gem in Peterborough. Stopped in for lunch with mom as she had an appointment across the street. Home made goodies, dishes and breads. Left there stuffed! The roasted pepper soup was amazing and the olive bread...just WOW! We will definitely be back!

Kimber Munford

Never a bad experience at Two Dishes!!! Their sandwiches are gigantic and mesmerizing, their salads are a full experience, not just a disappointing alternative. Go for brunch or lunch, it's all amazing! Try the mimosas and homemade soda as well! I'd give them 10 stars if I could!

Brenda

Everything I've tried is delicious...may seem pricey but one gets very generous portions! Love this place ❤ they've worked hard to get this far

Henry Daniels

Omg I love this place! Portions are crazy and I never finish but flavours are amazing. Been a few times and I have never been disappointed and I haven't gotten the same thing twice, just because I wanna try as much as possible! [Update] they changed the menu and everything is still amazing. Had two salads that I loved. Not a big falafel fan so that salad was just 'meh' for me. Thai salad was amazing though. Who would think of putting noodles with a salad?! It just worked!

Alan B

Awful experience, wouldn't recommend. The food is somehow both disgusting and horribly overpriced. I'll eat just about anything, good or bad, but even after paying an insane amount for brunch I couldn't bring myself to choke down more than half of my order. Everything is well cooked and prepared, the recipes are simply terrible.

MrJizac

This place is very good. However super busy and small. I would suggest taking a look at hose busy it is and/or calling before you arrive to insure you have a place for meeting.

B Inthavong

Highly recommend the desserts. Takes a while to pay your bill though! Went recently for brunch on Sunday! Amazing. Would recommend going 20 minutes before opening to avoid a wait. No reservations on weekends. Meals were flavorful and delicious. I see they have improved on my original comment of slow bill payment, they were quick!

Jordan Howard

Incredibly kind and engaging staff. The food is our go-to as meals are high quality, sizable, and amazingly delicious. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for great sandwiches, salads, or my personal favourite, donuts.

Amanda McCaskie

Never tried anything I didn't like! Food is unique, flavorful and filling! Salads are amazing, homemade bread, even the homemade ketchup is a must-try. Amazing desserts! You won't be disappointed!

Michael Point

Excellent food and great service. Kudos to the chef!

Ryan Lafave

A lot of care and passion goes into the food and atmosphere here. The staff are super lovely. Very cute spot for a date, or just a fun place to catch up with friends. Any place with donuts and gin under the same roof is a-okay with me.

Chance Squires

The taste was good, the cooking consistency was laughable. I got the Cinnamon Bun French Toast. The one picture with the cross section is how a properly cooked piece should look. The other is a horribly undercooked piece, the flavour was incredible but chewing through raw dough was not ideal. Service: our server sat us and got us coffee and that was the last we saw of her, another sever took over and was very friendly. Took our order and delivered our meal. We did not receive any more communication since delivery, no checking up, no refills on coffee. Nothing. Maybe it was an off day in both the kitchen and front of house. Who knows. Will probably not visit again.

I stopped in here hoping for a fairly hearty breakfast that might be able to accommodate my gluten and dairy intolerances, and got SO MUCH MORE than I expected! The beef brisket hash was enormous (covering breakfast and lunch!) and incredibly delicious, and was readily adapted to effectively address my dietary limitations. As their gluten-free bread contained butter, they even cooked up a couple of corn cakes just for me to go with it! I had planned some quiet work time in the library after eating, but was instead able to simply enjoy time and excellent coffee in the restaurant's lovely atmosphere until my next appointment. I will definitely visit her again when in Peterborough!

Jennifer Perry

Was there for breakfast. Coffee was excellent - and they made me a mimosa (with pineapple juice, the BEST). I ordered the beef hash and my friend had a standard bacon and egg breakfast (that was anything but). Tons of food, incredibly tasty... very hearty. The homemade ketchup was terrific. Locally sourced ingredients. Service was warm and friendly. Perfect experience. Looking forward to another visit so I can try the lunch menu and the desserts. Highly recommended!!!

This is my favourite brunch restaurant in PTBO. If you haven't been, GO! I've been there too many times to count over the years. The food is fresh, delicious and usually quite rich. Their menu is interesting, rotates occasionally and everything is always beautifully presented. They have a variety of options for vegetarian and vegan people - but also lots of meaty choices. The portions are huge and well-priced. The place is also super cute, well-decorated and clean. My only criticism is that there is currently one server there who is often inattentive and occasionally a bit rude. For example, you might have to ask for a lot of things and she might get visibly irritated about it. If you have this experience, give it another try because that server is not always there and the service is otherwise great. I will add that my standards are pretty high as a former industry worker and someone who eats out a lot. I still give this place 5 stars!

Jillian Cullen

Food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the artichoke, red pepper and goat cheese sandwich on gluten free bread. Was wonderful! Super fresh and healthy choices available. I only wish there was someway to dampen the sound of the other patrons. The tables on either side of us had to be the loudest most annoying talkers in Peterborough.

Myles Chisholm

This is best place in Peterborough for brunch. Don't come here if you want simple bacon and eggs. This where you come to get a hearty meal and excellent leftovers for later. It's small, so you can expect to wait for a seat, however, no longer than 20 minutes on weekends. I love this place.

Derek Flach

I think with any small, local place that has a high quality level, there will be wait times, and the servers busy. But everything was so worth the wait. Huge portions, delicious high quality foods, everything tastes home made. The wait is well worth the it best meal in awhile.

Chin Chinchilly

Horrible service. Puts out the forks and knives in a pile in front of us. I had to set our table. I asked what type of bread they had. "I don't know, whatever they baked today". Brought us coffee, no spoons. I had to ask. They HAD NO MORE SPOONS. This place wasn't even packed and they had no spoons for all their tables. So after I asked, she gave me a soup spoon. A soup spoon. Lol. Why are there not enough standard spoons? Anyways, the food was presented wonderfully, very beautiful. But underneath all the food was burnt peas and potato bits. Disappointing. The "mystery" bread was horrible, soggy, and weird, couldn't tell what ir was, and what about allergies? If the staff can't tell you ahead of time what type of bread it is, who is to say someone doesn't have a serious allergy to the ingredients? The potatos tasted like greasy pancakes. The eggs however were good, like my farm eggs. The coffee was too dark and had a burnt flavour.. Basically avoid this place if you value service and quality, because you won't find it here! Also, the prices are crazy for the service and lack of quality in the food we received. I have attached a picture of my receipt. That was for 2 orders of whatever the heck we picked at!

Dhaval Nanera (nanera)

Serves a large portion of food. Tried ricotta honey toasted bread and classic breakfast dish with salad. I was full as hell when i walked out of there....????

Best breakfast in Peterborough, hands down! Disclaimer: If you are a parent who can't read a menu with two screaming picky eating children, then I would highly recommend any of the many grease pits the lovely city of Peterborough has to offer. (refer to the only bad review above^^) The amazing chef has one of the freshest and creative menus I have encountered in a long time and there's a lot of love that goes into the food and presentation. The service and atmosphere have always been consistently good, but lets get real here, it's all about the food. I don't go to restaurants for a nice smile and hugs, I go for a party in my mouth. They bake their own bread and make their own ketchup, what more can I say. Go eat.

Laura Mann

The food here is seriously incredible. The dishes always change and the chef always puts together such interesting plates. I've never had something here I didn't like, and I always like to try something new! The prices are on the higher end, but you get SO much food that it's easy to just split something with someone!

Laura King

Easily one of the best brunches the Electric City has ever served up to me. Worth every second of the wait. Looking forward to returning and trying EVERYTHING! I'll be dreaming about the Irish cream Nanaimo bar for weeks.

Stewart

I found the staff to be friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and tasty. The portions are large, so can be messy depending on what one orders. The restaurant is small and crowded. It tends to be very noisy. Very nice art displayed which is also for sale.

Jordan George

Literally unreal food. I can honestly saw Two Dishes has a food style I've never found anywhere else. So much food for the money, so home cooked yet decadent, and a menu that's always changing. I recommend this place to anyone who loves breakfast.

Mike Leger

A bit pricey, but portions were big and food was great which makes it worth it. Everything seemed homemade. Had the brisket hash which was great!! Will be going back and glad I found this place!

Patrick McKinnon

Holy Hannah! Best breakfast ever! HUGE portions of amazingly fresh food. You definitely could share the Green Eggs and Ham between two adults, and we are healthy eaters. ;-) It was delicious and not a stitch of processed foods on the plate. My wife had the Morning Buzz, which was basically a grilled cheese souped up breakfast style. It didn't come with a side, so she ordered the potatoes, but could barely eat any of those because the sandwich was humongous. Definitely coming back.

Emily Higginson

Amazing donuts!!! Was very organized and safe for pickup during covid.

Paul Rak

One of the best breakfast places we've ever been to anywhere on this planet in fact my breakfast was just a wonderful combination of healthy and greasy all-in-one plus I had enough to take home for a second meal which is amazing as the prices were reasonable. Plus the service was stellar and the coffee was good too.

Caleb Hunt

What a gem this place is. Portions are generous. Quality is superb. Great coffee, too! Do yourself a favour and eat here. Oh, and make a reservation - if you can walk in and grab a table during peak times, you must have horseshoes in your pocket.

Update Sun Dec 22, 2019: A few days before christmas we revisited Two Dishes Cookshop with some friends, a place we all really loved since we first laid eyes on it on the food network and fell deeply in love when we tried it a year ago. Since returning we can say it certainty that their quality of food has not changed, it is still cooked with well selected ingredients coupled with creative flavours and complementing fresh elements to each dish on their ever-changing menus. In fact, their changing menu is what keeps is wanting more. This time around, we ordered the: Thanksgiving meatball sandwich, a french baguette toasted with homemade meatballs topped with cranberry sauce and gravy within and fries on the side. It was described as “memories of IKEA’s meatballs”, which if you’ve ever tried an IKEA meatball - it speaks for itself. The Classic Breakfast came with 2 eggs, home fries with corn and peas garnished with fresh cherry tomatoes, perfectly cooked bacon and toast. A classic indeed but with a unique flare that differentiates itself from your basic breakfast. The Savoury Pancake (I’ll be honest, I can’t remember the name of this delight) is filled with smoked salmon chunks, vegetables all in a delicious potato casing topped with house slaw and a poached egg with hollandaise sauce on the side. If you’re looking for a hearty brunch that speaks to the soul, this is for you. It’s elements of pan fried keeps you warm but coupled with the creamy and refreshing house slaw and a palette cleansing poached egg is what keeps you wanting for more. Last on our list, we ordered the Pulled Brisket Bowl, it comes with home fries and deliciously slow cooked brisket topped with fresh spinach, cherry tomatoes and a poached egg drizzled with hollandaise sauce. If you’re looking for a rich bowl of perfection, this is it. The spinach compliments the sweetness of the brisket’s sauce and is grounded by the light acid the cherry tomatoes give. All in all, Two Dishes Cookshop is truly a place to try. If you’re ever in town, it's well worth the wait, you won’t be disappointed by the food or drink options and the staff is amazing! 2018: This place was featured on the food network's popular tv show 'You Gotta Eat Here'. Though we went during a time where they didn't have the tv show featured dishes, it was still really good even though the prices seem high it's well worth it because I got 3 meals out of it. (2 if I didn't need picking at it slowly). Worth trying at least once! It is a small place with limited seating so small groups are better and it does get busy quick! The service is also great there! A friendly and comfortable atmosphere for any occasion.

Dan Clarke

Terrific donuts...I was too slow and dis not get there early. Missed out...sellout fast...They are that good.

Jessica O

Happy to have stumbled upon this place. Cute spot with a chill vibe, staff were super friendly and helpful. The salad was probably one of the best salads I’ve ever had in my life. They say you don’t make friends with salad, you’ll make all the friends with this one. I was super excited to try the donuts but was a bit underwhelmed, maybe the flavours just weren’t for me that day. Visually your expectations are set very high but the fritters I found quite greasy. I will certainly try again however, their selection just looked too good not to and between the food and the staff it was still totally a win.

Mélissa

Share a dish!! Because they are big but very very tasty. The staff itself was also very nice, and the place is very cute and niche in style but a bit small. The staff was very nice and knowledgable, and the food, even more amazing. Definitely check it out!

Kelan McCormack

This place is fantastic! It is my favourite restaurant in Peterborough and maybe more. The food is all fantastic, they have great vegetarian options and the desserts are definitely worth a look! (they are behind the bar). The food is original and from what I can tell is almost all made in house, be sure to call ahead and reserve a table as they can get very busy. Definitely worth a detour to try this place!

Shannon Molloy

The food is fresh and well prepared. It is a small place and gets very busy, so sometimes service is lacking. However, all and all I highly recommend Two Dishes, but make a reservation if you want in a breakfast or lunch time.

Jane Coulman

Food was amazing! Fresh! I had the ham and brie sandwich special and was dissapointed I couldn't eat it all! I was too full. Generous portions. Will return. Wait staff friendly and attentive.

Kathryn Ring

Delightful! We decided to stop for lunch in Peterborough on our way back to Ottawa. What a gem of a find! Paula, lovely and elegant, is the owner and one of the servers. Friendly. I had the Benny with smoked salmon. My friend opted for the hash. Huge portions but so tasty that we had to finish our bowls! Really good and interesting combinations of food on their menu. Truly unique.

Awesome Installz

Meat plus side the biscuits, the mac and cheese and the flavour........if you need a lunch try it out. Won't be dissapointed. Maybe hit up during donut days ????

Ally Belanger

Reasonable prices for a large portion of quality food and unique dishes. I had the classic breakfast which came with LOTS of potatoes, kale salad with sprouts and other tasty fixings(other options available), two eggs, delicious toast with oranges on the side, and I had my food within 10 minutes of ordering! My meal with a coffee and tip came out to less than $20.

J.J. Hudson

Best breakfast anywhere! Portion size is huge, servers are friendly and attentive. $10 for breakfast is cheap for the quality and quantity that shows up on your plate. Most dishes can be served vegan or gluten free. They make their own bread and sell it by the loaf. Tons of great goodies too!

Nicole Wilson

Let me start off with saying I never do a review Unless my experience was out of this world amazing!!!! And Two Dishes went above and beyond my expectations! From the atmosphere to the waitress who was patient, kind and absolutely wonderful! The food very fresh, delicious the portions size was perfect. Hats off to the chef’s, they did amazing job picking and planning the menu. Would definitely recommend Two Dishes for everyone!

kim dolan

Always fantastic - great food, great service and ever optimistic...

Ash

Never actually been here, just just called to see if they have anything special for Easter Sunday as my family is coming into town and we wanted to try something new. When I asked if they will be doing anything special, the girl on the phone replied in a snarky tone “We are. We will be closed and having dinner with our families”. Absolutely rude. She could have just said, no unfortunately we will be closed. Don’t intend on ever trying this restaurant now. Maybe you should rethink your customer service.

Justin Sze

Amazing breakfast and brunch joint serving up dishes that are both massive in size and flavour. Apparently their menu rotates depending on what is in season, but everything on the menu looks great anyways. I ordered the cheddar and bacon stuffed french toast with chorizo gravy and an egg on top. The flavours we're sooo good and the chozio grazy was amazing. The prices here are fair condsidering the portion sizes. Most dishes can easily feed two people. The place itself is quite small so there can be a bit of a wait, but it is most definitely worth it.

Mavis Lutiny

3rd time here. Best breakfast n brunch place in Peterborough. Service was amazing too! Loved it!

Des Preston

I've been here for breakfast many times and it does not disappoint. Amazing food with great attention to detail, portions that leave you plenty to take home, and a cozy atmosphere with attentive staff. Expect to wait for a table for Sunday brunch, but trust me - it's well worth it.

Erica Jackson

Food is top notch! You will never leave hungry and portions are generous. The combinations of ingredients in each dish is fairly unique, and i love their homemade ketchup. Definitely a fav spot:)

PEMF Inside Out

Food was amazing, large portions, gluten free bread, presentation all great. We have been three times this summer and will go again. If you can overlook poor waitresses and no cappuccino it is a must try.

Glenn Simpson

Friendly staff, fantastic food and portions, and excellent coffee. Will definitely be back.

Darby Mitchell

We used Two Dishes to cater our wedding and OMG. DELICIOUS. We still have friends and family raving to us about how good the food was. They were such a pleasure to work with, create a customized menu for us that wasn't so traditional. We brought in elements from both our backgrounds into the appetizer experience and everyone loved it. Susan has a way with food. We cant wait to come back here again (especially for the cronuts)

R White

Love this place! The prices fell a bit high, but when you get the food in front of you, it's well worth it! The portions are massive and the flavours are truly unbeatable. The atmosphere is also great, and the wait staff are super friendly.

Thong Nguyen

This place is a bit unassuming. The decor matches the menu. Simple yet complex. Food was amazing! I had the brisket breakfast. It came in a bowl and thought it was an interesting version if breakfast. Everything sat on a bed of potatoes. The slab of brisket was in the middle oozing juices below topped with eggs and select veggies and herbs. The meal weighed about 700 grams and I was satisfied. They also had brownies which I took on the road. Will come back next time I'm in the area. Hopefully with friends so we can try more of the menu. I forgot to take more pictures cause it was so good. If you haven't been you're missing out.

Anton

Fantastic. Their portions are out of control. I have only see one person actually finish. The food is great and so incredibly flavorful without going over the top. As you could imagine, a place like this gets busy, so sometimes there is a line up and that's a good thing.

Raphael Del Castillo

Food was amazing! Large portions for a good price. Wish they had some of their breakfast options for their lunch though. Went there with a party of 5 and good thing they had room. It's a very small place but with a great atmosphere. I got the "our version of the Cobb" tasted amazing!

Laura Wensink

Best brunch spot in Ptbo! Fresh bread, colourful kale and huge portions. They use such a variety of fresh veg, and decadent sauces that it really sets it apart from the greasy spoon breakfast places.

Ian Russell

Seriously amazing Sandwhichs!???? Ordered the brown sugar ham n Mac n cheese Sandwhich. The bread was insanely awesome! This dish was mouthwatering! Love, love this place! And what’s with the size of the homemade deserts!???? Thanks so much for the amazing service!

Ryan Lowe

This place rocks! I took my wife here for dinner and the food was stellar. The inside is so cool that if you took the place and plopped it anywhere in Toronto it would be wall-to-wall packed with hipsters arguing about who discovered it first. This place offers gourmet-level dining AND massive servings. I left stuffed, and loved it!

Larry Burns

Wow great homecook meal best place. For small place to eat you people got to try it yumyum tks two dishes great food

Topher Ellis

Two Dishes cookshop is one of the best meals I've ever had. It's not impressive from outside, and the street is kind of shady if you are not from the area, however, the ladies here make some of the most delicious food ever. Fresh baked goods, and everything on the menu looks amazing. Its a small space so be patient as you will not be disappointed with the food. The service here is not important... if you are not patient you may be bothered, but... just have the food.

Jasmine (TLOJazzy)

Two Dishes Cookshop is my favourite place in Peterborough for breakfast or lunch. The menu is always changing and full of delicious colliding foods and flavours.

Kalin Armstrong

TwoDishes isn't simply a small mom and pop restaurant, it's a cornerstone of incredible meals, quaint decor, and friendly staff. I come by here very often for coffee on my way to work, their coffee is fantastic, and every time I order something off the menu I am always pleasantly surprised. Their quality and portion sizes are very large which is something I rather enjoy. Their selection of drinks is good and they have something for everyone. If someone was to come to Peterborough and ask me where they should eat, this would be first on my list without a question.

Erica Harrold

One of my favourite places in town. The portion size is insane, I always get at least two meals out it. The food is fresh, tasty, and just such a treat. You can really taste the quality and homemade touches. I cannot recommend Two Dishes more.

Reane Van Eenooghe

I am amazed every time with the amount of creativity, detail, and attention they put into the flavour and presentation of their food. You can tell they don’t skimp on quality ingredients. Every meal I have tried here has been 5 stars. Btw this was the first restaurant I ate at in Peterborough when I moved here a few years ago! I ordered a pulled pork pancake (sounds weird, but they worked it) which was so good. I hope they bring it back some day.

Joseph Parish

Loved it. Good service and great menu. Not your boring typical fare, much more creative. Try the Eggs Benedict with churizo on fried polenta, it's amazing. Coffee was really good! And not too pricey.

Danielle Malcolm

Best breakfast I’ve ever had. We just randomly went here today and every single thing on my plate was amazing. The toast, amazing. Eggs, cooked perfectly. Potatoes, so crispy and delicious. The sauces, to die for. The pork, Sooo yummy. Would go back in a second! Love love love!! Great job!

Susan McCaig-Campbell

Diverse dishes! Wonderful flavours! Specialty donuts! Superior service! Absolutely outstanding small restaurant! Owner Sue Houde! xox Susan and Bobby

Mercedes Johnson

It’s hard to know what the rather eclectic brunch menu is aiming for with its out of the way items like my sausage gravy and biscuit with fried egg. In this case it didn’t live up to the popular American version of the dish, in fact it was a bit of a mess in a bowl, albeit tasty. My companion’s classic breakfast was better. The place is nice, the service good and the portions are hearty. Lots that’s right here but a better vision with a little less rusticity in the delivery would elevate it to a top notch place.

Diana E

I'll start with the positives: Cool spot in the downtown Trendy vibe Busy so obviously popular Waitress was very nice Negatives: Waited an hour or more for our meal Visually it looked appetizing but it was impossible to eat. It was an open faced sandwich which we didnt expect. I questioned the doneness of the chicken.. perhaps its because of the dark meat but I just didnt trust it. We left unsatisfied with the overall experience.

Alison Mackenzie

Delicious, but the portions are wayyyy to big. Share a dish and you will leave full.

Erin Johnston

Every meal I've ever tasted from this place has been nothing short of amazing! I got a cheesecake dessert from the market stand on Saturday morning at the recommendation of another customer and was not disappointed. I will never turn down an offer to eat here.

margaret margaret

So disappointed. Waited 40 minutes in line. Waited 25 minutes to place order. Waited 90 minutes to find out order was lost. Wouldn't you think one of the staff would have noticed? A decent waitress would not let you sit 30 minutes without checking with kitchen Will never be back. Will tell everyone I know not to go here- EVER!

Bruce Lewin

Very tasty well crafted food. Very generous portions. Fries are outstanding. Friendly staff. Restaurant is small and can get noisy. We would return.

Sebastian Urquhart-Beligan (brgrface)

I absolutely love it here! My go-to spot for lunch with my partner. Super comfortable atmosphere, fantastic food, and friendly staff. I've yet to try most of their menu, but they have some great korean inspired options, and surprisingly filling salads.

Amanda Saulnier

The food here was fantastic, we went for Sunday brunch and ordered the bacon and cheddar stuffed french toast that was covered in a chorizo gravy! Amazing also had the mushroom risotto bowl that had an issue but once it was brought to attention the staff resolved it quickly. They went above and beyond to male sure the rest of the dinning was enjoyable. Service was lovely would recommend to anyone driving through Peterborough.

Joe Harrison

No matter what you get, every dish is great. It's our favourite breakfast spot.

Lance Nachoff

Can't say enough about how great the food and the customer service is at Two Dishes Cookshop. We enjoyed their Chineses food last night, and it was some of the best I have ever had in North America. The spices, the quality of the product, and the love that they put into every dish is incredible. Their donuts are works of art, and the portions are enough to feed the family. Having worked in the culinary/fine dining industry for over 20 years, I have to say this is truly a gem in the Kawarthas, and a must try for those food lovers that want to experience cuisine that both elevates and inspires. It is vital to support these wonderful businesses as they try their best to to stay afloat while COVID decimates the food service industry. Thanks Two Dishes. We will be sure to return next week for the fried chicken. Yum Yum.

Lee Rogers

Not only does Two Dishes offer spectacular food, friendly staff and a charming atmosphere during 'normal' times, they masterfully and expeditiously pivoted their operations to keep customers safe, fed and happy during Covid-19 without missing a beat. 10/10 do recommend, and very much looking forward to the next time I get to partake of their tasty fare!!

Jacob Gosselin

This place has amazing and unique dishes you won't find anywhere else. The menu seems to change often and all of the portions are huge. Everything is made with quality ingredients. It is a fairly small place and gets quite busy, so be prepared for a bit of a wait to get a table.

Greg Pastic

Two Dishes has great food and a fun atmosphere! I've had brunches and dinners there many times and it is always excellent. Their baked goods (brownies and pastries) are the best in town, and they have gluten free options too. You can also visit them at the Peterborough Farmers Market on Saturdays where you can buy their breads, baked goods, and more.

Sabrina Calogeracos

I've been twice - the delicious chicken on a waffle drew me back. Enormous portions, took home a meal for later :) Other food ordered was perfect also! Though they get quite a lunch rush, service the first time was exceptional and friendly, time yesterday was disappointing though, our table wasn't visited for over half an hour when we were waiting for water looking expectantly at them, and then waiting for the bill. It seemed they were serving everyone else around us. (Edit-additional comments since visited 2 more times since first review): Tried more menu options-always amazing in quality and quantity. But the service has continued to be disastrous, to the point that it ruins the entire experience. The one lady often makes rude comments, like when we were waiting for our table to be cleared after being sent to that table. I was so upset I wanted to walk out. And again we waited for a box to pack up our food, and again to pay. It seems they're frustrations stem from their own issues, of being understaffed. I don't believe hiring more staff would hinder income, when there's business lost due to the wait times for tables, if we had our table cleared sooner, and our food packed up sooner, a table would have been available a half hour sooner. Happier customer experiences would be resultant aswell. I also see reviews complaining about food wait times, though this hasn't been obscene in my experience, can more staff alleviate this also? It's a turn off just seeing staff flustered and overworked, let alone them taking it out on their customers.

Brittany Risebrough

I have been coming to this restaurant for over a year now. Fantastic food, generous portions. When friends and family ask where to eat in Peterborough I tell them to come here. The last two times I have come in to eat there has been one server who makes our experience unenjoyable. We wait at the door and after 5-10 minutes she will finally come up to us and tell us it's going to be a long wait even though there are empty tables, she simply has to clean. Takes her 10+ minutes to get us a drink, taking our order takes forever. Ask for lemons she forgets. She's rude walks by us, never smiles. Second time now my friend has never been here, I've been raving to her how great this place is. Same server was here Tuesday November 22. We stood at the door and walked by us for about 5 minutes, keep in mind there were only 3 tables in the restaurant that were full. Finally the male server sat us. She has been walking by us and hasn't said anything, no drinks, food orders nothing. Finally the nice male server came over to help us. I hope the owner sees this, I know she is aware of the awful service she has provided to friends in the past.

Jody Nicholas

Food is always incredible, healthy and local. Portions are huge- I always go home with enough for another meal :) some of the servers could be a little more friendly and attentive, find myself having to get their attention for water and coffee/ cream refills. BUT that doesn't take away from the delicious food and desserts!!

Kathy Jackson

Absolutely fabulous. Great staff and amazing food

T H

Two Dishes has fantastic food! We had the pork loin supper with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and beets and feta salad. It was fabulous! The food was delicious, plentiful and beautifully prepared! We also had their wonderful coconut cream pie purchased at the market this morning. Thank you!

erika broas

I ate here before covid and I loved the food it was great. My boyfriend and I have been trying to order through their pickup but they make it so difficult to order. You guys say to order through instagram or Facebook yet you read my messages and don't even reply. A simple reply to tell us that you're sold out or can't today would be nice rather than being ignored. It's as if you guys don't want people to order food. I just want you to know that you lost a customer today and it's a shame cause we really loved your food and we were looking forward to it.

Food service innovation moving forward living under Covid-19. Our 1st order from their Meat And Three Menu. Graciously packed deconstructed for home reheating/plating. We did sharesies to sample a wide selection of the sides available. On a future visit will explore the menu further & steal away someplace local to enjoy mobile dining (a nearby lock or park).

Obscenely good. Massive portions. The side salad that came with my dish was full of amazing, fresh greens and veggies. And the brisket sandwich was absolutely phenomenal. So, so good.

A great find for breakfast or lunch! Not much from the outside, but a great atmosphere once you walk in the door. Friendly staff! You'll wait a little longer for your food, and the price is slightly more but oh my gosh is it ever worth it. You get 2 meals in one, and everything is so fresh. I ordered gluten free bread, which is made twice a week locally. The meals are great, and the desserts are just as scrumptious. Huge portions, again worth the higher price. I can't say enough good things about this place, definitely give it a try.

Before you try this place consider that the hours here are limited and they are not open seven days a week. It was only on my third attempt to eat here that I actually got in (should have called in advance). This is a small restaraunt that always seems busy. It has very high ceilings, reclaimed wood furniture and fresh flowers on each table. The staff are super friendly and are not shy about making recommendations. The menu is not very big but all the dishes look appetizing. They make the food from scratch using quality ingredients. On my first visit I ordered a Thai salad with spicy lamb patties. It was delicious; a truly masterful symbiosis of ingredients (especially the chilli which punched up the flavour). The salad was also unexpectedly large. It's not a starter. Unless you plan to share it, it's a full meal. Had I left this review after my first visit, I would give it the full 5 stars. The second time around we hit a minor speed bump which takes it down to a very solid 4 stars. My second visit was a few days ago. This time around I ordered a brisket and krout sandwich with a side of fries. The service was great as always. The sandwich was tasty. It was made with fresh quality beef (which definately wasn't lean) and served on delicious house-baked bread. However, it was so big and so packed with ingredients that you couldn't really pick it up in one piece. I basically had to eat the sandwich with a knife and fork. I also had to rush a bit since the bottom bread layer was starting to get soggy under all the kraut and brisket. I would have prefer it if the sandwich was a bit leaner. I really do think you should give 2 dishes a try. Overall, its a wonderful restaraunt.

Last night I "shared" a London Fog tart with my adult son Pete...a 5 inch pie, that was that high as well. It was absolutely delectable! I'm a baker by heart and it passed with flying colours. I'm also a tea granny so it tickled my fancy❤

Owned by two local sisters who bring personality to both the front of the restaurant and in the back in the kitchen. Tried the green eggs and ham as well as their take on a beef pancake with a spicy coleslaw. The food was great, and I had no complaints. The majority of the ingredients if not all are all locally sourced and homemade. The portion sizes are incredible and you will be full after you finish eating. The menu changes frequently so you need to stop in and get your favourites while they last. The sodas and ketchup are even homemade. The prices are fair and the decorum is simple, clean and modern. A well-rounded place in general.

Amazing! Had the Korean Chicken and Waffles! Not only is the dishes amazingly put together but the ingredients are very complimenting to each other and perfect choices for the season. The Italian home-made soda is a wonder addition to a flavour packed meal! If you want plain ordinary food go to a big box restaurant as this place is not for you.

Fantastic! Knowledgeable staff and an incredible chef that has left a permanent culinary mark on Peterborough. Thank you for your great food and providing us all with an unforgettable experience. Well done!!!

We walked into the adorable and cozy looking place, and were immediately greeted by Emily who was a very friendly hostess/waitress. Emily highly recommend the all day breakfast so we took her advice and both ordered the breakfast two eggs over easy with a mountain the crispy potatoes and your choice of bacon, ham, beans or salad.

Second time visiting Two Dishes Cookshop and blown away all over again. The flavours, the atmosphere, the service, the homemade ketchup.

Absolutely.... 100%.... BEST BREAKFAST IN PETERBOROUGH! My husband and I go here regularly, and while you are paying more than somewhere like Monaghan Cafe... the experience and the food are worth it by a mile. The service is outstanding, personal, friendly and caring. They go above and beyond! The food is out of this world... the homemade bread, (changes everyday) with ingredients ranging from spinach, to cheddar to blueberries... makes you want to never eat anywhere else again. And believe it or not, you can buy a loaf on your way out.. yes, a fresh baked loaf! The coffee... oh my! magic! This restaurant is a MUST TRY! your life will change:)

We just had Sue and her wonderful staff cater an event in our home and it was like having your best friend in our kitchen. Her cuisine is absolutely outstanding, unique and plentiful. Very professional and a joy to work with. Thanks Sue and Paula.

Love this place! Casual, hip decor and really fabulous food. I mean, really, who would expect Toronto quality in a town of 82,000. The only difference -- the portion sizes are much bigger at Two Dishes. Bonus!

It was quite a wait before we were asked about drinks/coffee. This was Sunday Brunch. A simple ham and scrambled egg breakfast turned into raw sunny side up eggs and bacon. When delivered to me, the waitress said, "you ordered scrambled right?" Then she proceeded to tell me they were making me scrambled and would bring them separately and quickly left, leaving these 2 unsightly eggs on my plate, menacingly starring at me (I happen to find this extremely unappetizing) and threatening the release of their goo all over the rest of my food, hence, the scrambled eggs. Another 5 minutes before I could inform someone else about the tragic bacon versus ham and, even then, I had to tell them to please take my plate away and get rid of the eggs. By the time my food finally came, my husband and our friend were pretty much finished. Their plates were removed from the table and I had barely started. They did, however, pick up the tab for my meal. Besides this, you couldn't get traditional pancakes (had crepes) or simple BLT, but those would be our choices, so whatever. But we found the menu rather pretentious. The small wood boards they serve their sandwiches on cannot hold the grease and the extra napkins you require because of this have to be acquired as there are no napkin containers on the table. They need real ketchup. Lastly, $2.50 for a coffee and $2.75 for a wee tea, not included with your meal, the cheapest meal being just over $10.00. I hope you don't like it sweet because they only bring 2 sugar packets per person. We eventually get asked for a second, complimentary coffee and we accept. Our friend, however, was not offered a second, wee tea. But alas, there's no more sugar. They really need a sugar dispenser. The garbage from these little packets alone. Lastly, great idea to serve up a nice big glass bottle of fridge cold water. However, the bottle needs a cozy, or you end up with this big puddle of water on your table that cannot be wiped away because there are no napkins. Others think this place is great, we prefer attention to detail at least.

Omg I love this place! Portions are crazy and I never finish but flavours are amazing. Been a few times and I have never been disappointed and I haven't gotten the same thing twice, just because I wanna try as much as possible! they changed the menu and everything is still amazing. Had two salads that I loved. Not a big falafel fan so that salad was just 'meh' for me. Thai salad was amazing though.

Stopped in today while in town, saw the reviews and thought we would try it out. They weren't lying. The food was absolutely great , we had the meatloaf sandwich (enormous and delicious)and chicken paprikash bowl. The servers were delightful and service was speedy for our takeout order. Will definitely be stopping in again. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area, for a sit in or just to pick up for the road.

Food amounts are good. Absolutely hated the mac and cheese (has some kind of zesty crunchy highlighter orange cheetos on it) even if it didnt i didnt like it. Mashed potatoes were the best part and the fresh bread. Not my style for flavors, will be going back to electric city bread co instead for lunch.

I don’t have the words to express how awesome Susan and her team were at my wedding. EVERYTHING was AWESOME!! Felt like a king the way they fed and treated us from the planning stage to the actual day. The donuts definitely lived up to the hype. I didn’t hear one complaint the whole night. Its worth mentioning that I attend alot of weddings so I’ve eaten many catered foods. Not exaggerating, Two Dishes blows them all out of the water with their culinary creativeness. Solid 12/5 stars ????????

It was so difficult to choose what to have for breakfast! Everything sounded so delish! Well, we just jumped right in and picked, I had eg. Eggs Benedict with Arugula and my fiance had waffles with maple syrup, sausages topped with a poached egg. It was blissssssffffully delicious! Best meal I've ever had! Can't wait to go back!! thanks
