When I want fresh fish, this is the place to go. Step to the back of the store, slide open the door to the refrigerated room, and prepare to be amazed at the variety of seafood on offer. Don't be disturbed by the 8 foot long monster fish - they will cut steaks or filets to your specs.

Went late on sat looking for fresh cod: they didn’t have any but had some boneless frozen cod. I was skeptical but actually the fish was wonderful and soft with NO fishy aftertaste that I hate. Would come here again. Thanks

Its so sad that I have to leave this review because I actually really loved this store before COVID hit. The charm and service is still there, however, the owner and most of the staff refuse to wear masks correctly or at all. No 6 feet distances. No cleaning supplies. Its a shame that with customers that are mostly elderly and high risk, the owner doesn't care if they all die or get sick.

Good place for Portuguese goods. Has the small town charm and appeal. I really couldn't compare prices as I don't know what the other stores of its kind charge. I come for one product only and they always have it at a decent price.

My family has been a customer at A Lota for many years now, unfortunately I refuse to step foot in there or let my family purchase anything at all, since the way my grandma was treated. My grandma was ripped off at the counter, her total was $23 something, she placed the $20 dollar bill on the counter while looking through her change purse to give the rest and suddenly it disappeared. The man at the cashier argued with her that she never had put her money on the counter. Another employee that worked there even had the decency to tell my grandma that a lot of people do that there thinking they put the money down and they don't. hm....that sounds very fishy. Its very unfortunate that people like them rip elderly people off for extra cash. Wish I could somehow take this further and publish it in the newspaper.

love this place, great seafood and fish and they even have Lapas (limpets) and Bujios (periwinkles) when in season. You can get some corn bread while you are there to go with your delicious seafood. Befor covid restrictions they had a delicious hot table where yoy could by traditional portuguese food ready to eat. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I was in there the other day and had a fantastic experience. I believe the mans name was Tony. What a great man full of knowledge. He gave me great advice on how to cook my fish that I bought. It was delicious and came out great. I would recommend any of my friends or family to go to a lot seafoods and make sure you ask for Tony!!!!
