The restaurant entrance is a bit hard to spot as it's located on the second floor. The ambiance is upscale, yet cozy. Reasonable pricing and decent portions. The food is fantastic, and the server was quite the joker. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to get together with a group of friends. Good place on Thursdays 5 to 7 upstairs with older crowd getting together for Happy hour meal and a glass of wine. Great seafood and attentive staff.

Lovely dinner for two in the Glebe, on a chilly Friday night. Service was efficient. With lots of fish and seafood options, the kitchen cooks seafood to perfection. Starters were escargots and crab cakes, with a crisp Maccabeo. Main was sauteed shrimp and scallops with red pepper and rice: why choose one over both?

Was highly recommended, but very disappointed. Food was bland, nothing special, expensive considering what we tasted. Worst of all, service was the worst! Older waitress, didn’t bother welcoming us, explaining menu or specials. Won’t be going back, or recommending. Oddly enough, place was packed with older crowd.

Great Attention, excellent sea food option in the Glebe, they have a stellar seafood platter that you can pair with the many wine options available. If you get the corner table with the view you will have a little extra.

Both the food and service at this restaurant was ok. The server acted indifferent to our presence, almost a bit annoyed that we were taking up her time actually. She only checked on us once to see if we needed anything during our meal. The seafood soup was too salty. The seafood caesar salad was the only good thing really. The almond-crusted pickerel was plain.

Absolutely amazing seafood. Such a wide variety of seafood items incorporated in different cuisines ranging from Asian (Pad Thai) to Mexican (tacos) as well as your usual grilled or pan seared fish. The seating is also very nice and somewhat romantic, great for a couples night. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the service. I felt that our waiter weren't the most friendly or hospitable. Even when simply asking if she had any recommendations for us or asking about the different dishes, she didn't seem bothered to be very helpful.

For seafood, you certainly can't go wrong with Flipper's! The food was delicious, if a little pricey--ultimately, you get what you pay for. I had the pan-seared haddock stuffed with crab, and I loved every bite. The restaurant felt somewhat dated, but cozy. If you can snag a seat by a window, great! The second-floor view of Bank street was lovely, though arriving at sunset might have helped. While our interactions were limited, staff were friendly and helpful. Great job, Flipper's!

Best Steak and Shrimp I have ever had! Tender meat, the shrimp were perfectly cooked and sautéed ‘butter-fly’. Absolutely worth 5 stars, great place to eat!

This iconic but quaint restaurant has been our go-to fish restaurant for 20+ years. Flippers offers a varied fish & seafood menu, beautifully prepared at reasonable prices. Their lunch fish & chips is delicious (2 pieces) with light battered haddock & fries/salad & tartar sauce $15. Many other restaurants do fish & chips but often it's lesser quality fish/batter. They always have great fish selections and prepare them well with interesting marinades/toppings. Their portions are good as well. The website shows their staple menu items but daily they have specials with several interesting choices. Flipper's staff are very nice and attentive.

I was taken here for an early Father's Day dinner, and I was very impressed. It is a little hard to find, but it is a very unique location, and the staff are very friendly. The food, most importantly, was excellent. I had a fried pickerel that was very satisfying. My sweetie said that her almond crusted haddock was delightful, and she doesn't even call me that. My son had the seafood linguine, which he ate and seemed to enjoy, though he is a teenager and his communication is erratic.

Great food, great service in a warm environment. On the second leve,l you oversee Bank street, close to Landsown field see you can eat a quality meal before or after a game. $1.00 oysters a few nights a week too.

The shrimp tacos here were ON another level. For the price point and the artisan craftsmanship of the chef, I literally don't think there's a cheaper place in the city to get shrimp tacos with these portions. It's a shame this place is so hard to find though! I've been living here almost 5 years and just discovered this restaurant yesterday lol. Can't wait to come back

Love this place. It is still the best seafood for a decent price in Ottawa. Wonderful low key setting in the heart of the Glebe. I had oven baked Iceladic cod with mango and pineapple sauce today with no carbs and they gave me coleslaw and lovely veg with it. What I like about this place is that they are so flexible about substitutions... and dietary preferences. And most of all, as a person who cannot deal with music because of brain issues (jazz honestly gives me hives) they turn the volume down and put soft music on. I can meet friends here, have a conversation and enjoy food with wonderful service (thank you Stephan) and not be stressed. And the prices are really great for great food. A Glebe secret worth visiting for sure. Hope you can enjoy one of my favourite Glebe restaurants :)

The food was spectacular (seafood platter & seared tuna). The staff were incredibly friendly, and seeing as we went on a night that wasn’t busy, the wait staff walked around with our 4 month old leaving my husband and I to enjoy our date! I plan on going back for the food and friendly ambiance (even if they don’t look after our baby next time!)

Not the best experience. The food was great but they forgot multiple things on my entrée and took an attitude when I asked for the items to be replaced. Never asked me if I would like anything to drink - coffee or tea. Cutlery and table was absolutely filthy and had food pieces stuck to it. My table was neglected. Waitress was unfriendly. I asked for the desert menu and had it thrown to me on the table while later watching her repeat the same desert menu to other tables. Never had an experience like that before, you can guess what the colour of my skin was. Implicitly racist in actions of the restaurant - gave me many weird looks multiple times, and asked if I would be splitting the payment on two cards! Shame.

My partner and mine's first visit to this restaurant on February 21 2021 for dinner. This was also our first visit to any establishment since the stay at home order was lifted in Ottawa. We were excited to support local in person again, but the experience was ruined by another patron. This patron was coughing very loudly, unmasked throughout their meal and then went on to engage in a very loud conversation with their waiter that COVID-19 is a hoax and they were "booming in business as an estate and wills" businessman. Our meals themself were ok, there were several substitutions the kitchen made without asking us if we were ok with, which was dissappointing. We feel fortunate to be healthy and capable to support local businesses, but this experience left a very terrible taste. That patron can put Flippers out of business with his recklessness, period. There were no contact tracing information collected by Flippers, but I'd suggest anyone that dined there on February 21 from 7-9pm to isolate.
