This place has frozen and fresh seafood of every type imaginable. It also has a lot of other Italian foods and cooking/catering equipment. Cookies, spices, cans of vegetables, soda. It's all here. And all at reasonable prices. We even found a cherry/olive stone remover. Love this place.

Went in to check out the selection with moderate expectations given how highly rated this place is on Google. The ambiance was strange, there being a tent selling assorted crafts materials (e.g., buttons and what not) outside. Inside, we were initially impressed by the size, expecting to find a wide variety seafood items (within reason, with COVID going on). Advertised on the walls was sea urchin, something I've always wanted to try. We were told it was not only not in stock, but that it hadn't been in a long time. One would think they might take down the sign, or put up a sold out sticker, but that's excusable. What was not was the terrible quality of some of the food we purchased. Soda bottles with rust under the lids. Frozen Italian pasta clams that were packed with grit, a few being full of nothing BUT sand and dirt. The prices were no better than any other supermarket. The selection of canned fish was pitiful, worse than something like Metro. The smoked fish were nearly all sold out. Service was not particularly friendly or helpful. A few of these alone might be expected, but all combined during a first impression is worrying. I will not be returning. It's much easier to go to my local No Frills for the same food and perhaps even lower prices.

Hi, my share is... that the retail gouge was strictly on premium products. Such as bulk King Crab $58 llb Lobster Tails $29 llb Scallops 10 -20 $ 28 llb U 10's were unavailable.Sea Bass $ 37 llb. Although all Mussles , squid, oysters, shrimp great price. I checked value Metro grocery had lobster tails, U 10 Scallops 30 % less and 80 count Oysters for . 99 cents a piece. HAPPY NEW YEAR . Sea Core is a recommended purchase. Just dont gouge your public.

I've driven 35 min on four different days to attempt to get red snapper, all I get it a quick nope none, and when I ask when I get told come Mon or Tue. I love this place! I live back in Edmonton and I came to visit this year for Christmas. We do a seafood feast every year and we always come to this particular seafood store. They have everything from muscles to squid to shrimp to lobster and I can go on! Both fresh and frozen. They also have desserts and other items for entertainment. Also their gift selection is awesome too! I always love coming here and I will continue to do so when I visit.

If I could give a minus, I would. Bought a box of oysters on Friday. Opened the box on a couple of hours for a party. Half of them were open ( meaning dead), the other half we're smelling so bad when you open them. I could not come back till Monday (was not even sure whether I could be back on Monday). We have no place to store it in hour home. Came Monday and the first thim the manager is not there, then spoke to her on the phone. She asked me for a receipt, I said yes, I have it. She asked to come. When I came, she's not there again and they are waiting for oysters... I'm speechless... I had to drive there twice, and it's far. And now they need those oyseters to give me a refund. The lady, Franca, who is a manager/owner was really adamant that I need to bring those oyseters that are 3 days "fresh" and which I don't have as I told above BECAUSE THEY need to send it back to the manufacturer. That is not my problem. I came here to buy them, you spoiled the party as you are not checking what you are selling. I came here 2 times in one day and the last thing I want do is to come 3 time. The gas will cost more than them! Just because of $120, you lost a customer who was buying lots of products here. You are not the only one on the market ! My advise, go somewhere else!

We are shopping there about 7 years. And usually it's around $200 and up every time. And we had very great experience , BUT they change management on fish department and it's horrible right now. Previous manager Gino was amazing guy, very friendly and knowledgeable, willing to help every time. Now it's Lady with no smile, attitude and not very nice. We usually bought whole salmon there. Few times she just refused to bring whole fish from the fridge, and tried to sell not very fresh one. I bought this fish and eat this cured or smocked and my three years old son do not eat meat at all and this fish the only protein for him. So we were very disappointed. we are not alone, who write here that service in fish department is horrible. We like assortment and products thought, but owner should seriously reconsider the working staff, because store will go down hill. Now I will go to Diana seafood, driving is longer but service is better. Very sad:(

I would not waste my time going into this trap of a seafood market. They did not give me a price over the phone off an item that I wish to purchase ie, spiny lobster. They wanted me to drive all the way from Barrie Ontario just to see what the prices are. If you called any other store they will tell you the price per pound of the products. This store should be disciplined by the consumer protection bureau.

Entering Seafood Depot at its hideaway location, I was immediately distracted by a nice selection of kitchenware that offers many hard to find products, including fine jewelry and decorative wares. Back into focus, I met the long Seafood counter, which had a good variety of Seafood that left me with no requests for the operators. My critique with the store lies in its off-focus product line which included a sales floorspace that was really only 1/4th Seafood at most. Without the sign prominently placed above the entrance, upon entering I would have thought the store to be a commercial food services supply store, or a factory warehouse dealing in surplus, discounted kitchenware.

We bought a box of snapper from them and it seems like they had it before COVID-19 started, when we fry the fish it's like I bought a porcupine the way the fish open out and fold up. Call them to inform them about the rotten fish they request for receipts who is going to keep a receipt of a product like fish, we told them the transaction was done through debit, and they still refuse to accept that which is ridiculous! They don't even deserve a 1-star is should -0 .

I just love it here! It's like falling down the rabbit hole...SO many things (purses, scarves, jewelry, religious paraphernalia, dishes, etc, etc) to see and then all of a sudden you're in aisles full of Italian groceries. The only place I've ever found scampi tails in the GTA. They have every kind of seafood you can imagine, and lots of amazing frozen prepared foods (like crab cakes and lobster ravioli...)! I highly recommend a visit!

Do not recommend. The fresh fish looks... unfresh. It looks like it has been soaked in vinegar to refresh it. Red fish looked discoloured. Whole fish had murky eyes. Oysters were not stored on ice. They were in an open fridge, which barely generated any cold. The mussels were kept in water, which is a no-no. The store is smelly, and not in the regular fish-store smell.

The service here is terrible and my family refuses to shop here anymore, after spending hundreds of dollars before the holidays and being loyal customers for years. Before the holidays my family went to Seafood depot to purchase seafood, and noticed a pasta maker that really appealed to them. After the holidays they went back to purchase it. They tried it once to see how it would work, and were not happy with the results. They cleaned it thoroughly, and repacked it. And returned as per the return policies; within 14 days, with the original receipt, in the original packaging, and in resalable condition. The service they received was terrible. 3 employees were rude to them, and refused to take the product back. They opened the package to make sure we didn't steal parts, and claimed the product was used and covered in flour (which it was not).. and refused to take it back. How can you know a pasta maker is good without trying it?? Then to make matters worse one employee forced another employee to sign the receipt so we could not take it back again. I would never buy any product here again. They were rude, gave terrible customer service, and didn't even uphold their own return policy.

Had bad experience there two times before. Decided to give them a try again yesterday for a third time. Got rotten fish again that I just tossed out and fish other fish barely scaled! When they take the guts out they just tear the fish body cavities apart. Horrible fish mongers! They clean the fish behind a counter so you can't see what is going on. It's wrapped in paper so you don't see it until you get home. I'm done with this place!

What a disappointment!. Been going there for year and years as they have always been a reliable supplier for lobster, shrimp, mussels and so may things "Italian." This last trip bought a large frozen pkg of "frozen crab meat," a product I also buy at Metro, Loblaws, Walmart, Frescho etc. It's made of Pollock and some other stuff and made to look like crab. My wife who is a vegetarian, uses it as a topper on salads etc. The product from Seafood when opened was greasy, tasted horrible and felt almost like rubber. Now the lobsters were great and the shrimp are being saved for the spring BBQ. Sadly at their prices the imitation crab mess costs them a customer.

Sometimes there is good choice of frozen fish if you are lucky, sometimes isn't. Often, the fish is in the warehouse packed in large boxes but they don't take it to the shelves, so customers could buy it. Sometimes the already spoiled fish (e.g. mackerel) is frozen and it falls apart when you unfreeze it. So it can be hit and miss resulting in waste of your money.

Overhyped. Went there on a Saturday after work. Got there about 15-25 minutes before closing time. All the fresh seafood was packed up. Within 5-10 minutes, the staff were flicking the lights to get customers out. Asked staff for assistance in looking for a specific product (a couple of types of fish for sashimi) and they were largely unable to help. Not even sure if they knew what sashimi was. Finally one guy showed me some expensive frozen product. Prices weren't any better than anywhere else although there was a greater selection of a few frozen things than some standard food shops. I bought the seafood sausages and they were terrible. Probably made with trimmings, texture was very unpleasant and rubbery, and there was little spice. Ended up feeding them to my wife's dog as I just couldn't swallow them. Bought a couple of Italian products but they were nothing special. Specials online don't have pricing. I had high hopes for this place but it didn't meet my prior experiences compared to other places I've shopped at. Isn't worth the drive for me from North York.

The website mentions availability of high quality and multiple options of sashimi products , drove couple of hours to only be disappointed of their VERY limited to non existent options for sashimi , I even asked them nicely in the questions section to try and find if there is a reason why their website makes it sound that they carry something that doesn't exist in their store but they ignored my question. I gotta say though that if you are looking for other types of seafood they have plenty of decently priced options but their seafood depot name doesn't stand up to sushi ingredients. In fact T&T carries much better options for sushi and sashimi and they don't specialize in seafood .

Drove a long way to shop from there , most of the items advertised on their website are not available , no one is there to ask or help except cashiers, over-priced and be careful of their parking lot as it is not secured, when someone hit my car and drove away , I asked them for security camera person to get their make of the car or license plate number, no store manager and the cashiers can hardly speak English and they said that person in charge is not on site , not even one security person! They finally gave me the number and left them a message, no one even cared to call back. Tuna steaks I can only assume are cheap quality, my wife and I have never had to throw out any kind of fish after only 2 bites. I appreciate the reply, but as this is not my first seafood purchase, I am quite aware of the necessity of maintaining the cold chain to ensure the quality and safety of the food. Poor tasting tuna steak is simply a sourcing issue. Thank you for offering a refund, but money is not an issue, I did not post a response to try and get something free, it is to inform others that appreciate good food.

Visited the store today ... drove for 1 hr to get there .. tried to buy a table cloth and told that they were short staffed and had no one to cut it. I explained my predicament and offered to cut it .. manager refused again telling me they were short staffed. During this time it was obvious that they were not short staffed.. the store was practically empty and the blond manger was standing around doing very little in any case .. i was astounded at her refusal to help me. Seafood Depot has a nice mix of Italian groceries and fresh seafood. I bought live lobster and they steamed it for me which I find much easier than doing this at home. It is one of the few places where I can buy Ikura (chum salmon roe) in the large 1 Pound container. I find their selection of seafood quite good from escargot and mussels to fillets of black cod or sea breen and Orata. I like the overall prices for their products and they carry many of the hard to find items eg Meat slicers or Lobster serving tools sugar free cookies. You can join a points club to get additional discounts on the total purchases as well. It has a warehouse type atmosphere similar to Costco.

I have to say, this is the best and freshest fish market that I know of.We love shopping here and come away with lots of "stuff" best of it is you don't need to pay a membership fee to shop there, maybe Costco could learn something from this

Saturday was the first time ever going to the Seafood Depot and I was very happy and satisfied both with the service and price. Ransford in the seafood department went above and beyond in helping me, as well as the lady at cash I did not get her name she helped me pick a really delicious sauce for my seafood lasagna. I will definitely recommend coming here for all you seafood needs at an affordable price.

Good sea food plus but don't expect to meet happy people. Staff very cold like frozen fish Would it kill them to be pleasant. My son buys a lot there and he is yet to see anyone smile .We always go when we visit .lots of things to look at I guess I expect to much
