Our negative experiences from Fish &Bird Emporium are increasing in frequency unfortunately.
We use the Bettas they provide in our store. The service is noticeably worse recently. Most of the fish they send are usually listless and die every few days.
When they are delivered they come in boxes or styrofoam cases, but they're not packaged very well so often the cups are knocked over and the fish only have a few centimeters of water to be in. Sometimes the water is ice cold when they come in and the fish are struggling.
We have also recieved empty cups with no fish inside and even a single cup with two Bettas in it, so they had torn each other fins off and the water was black with the shredded bits from the fish.
When we tried calling to express our concerns, we were only given excuses ("Tuesdays are our busiest days! I only have 6 guys cupping 5000 fish! These kinds of things happen sometimes, last time was years ago...") and were offered no solutions, or promises of extra diligence to check the fish before sending them, or even an apology.
As lover of pets of all kinds I really hope for better from Fish & Bird Emporium and for the animals there.
Update: Today's delivery had at least 10 fish with less than 30% of the water in their cup. One lid came off completely and the fish was swimming in water in the bottom of the case. The moss balls had virtually no water in their cup. One fish has a paper sticker inside its cup which then dissolved and made the water cloudy with bits of paper and glue. You guys seriously need to rework how you package the fish.
