A group of co workers and I decided to order from here for pick up. We chose items from a website that was linked on Google. My co workers ordered salads that cost $6 and $7 and I ordered halibut and chips. On the website, it said the meal came with coleslaw but it didn't. My co workers were extremely disappointed with their tiny over priced salads. So I called them to ask about the coleslaw. They told me they don't have a website and that my expensive halibut and chips does not come with coleslaw as mentioned in the website. Funny but the number we called to reach them was the number on top of that website page. The fish and fries were delicious but we won't be going back.

Visited again after a long hiatus and really enjoyed it. The waitress (she might be new-ish) was soooo friendly, worked her tail off but was always smiling! My family was thrilled to be back. None of us liked the crabcakes but the haddock, chips, mushy peas and coleslaw were excellent!

Fresh fish with light batter. Awesome chowder. Fantastic home made tartar sauce. The fries were not soaking in oil. Good Friday night dinner. Be careful of the wait times as it gets busy. But good things come to those who wait.

First time trying them a year into living in the neighborhood. The fish (we had the haddock) was absolutely delicious from the batter to the quality of the fillet. The fillet was large (long with a fair bid of breadth to it) and extremely meaty, while also being what you expect of white fish (it's obviously well sourced). The chips are just right - not overly salted, not overly greasy. Now I don't tend to ever eat tartar sauce, but ironically I'm a big fan of remoulade (which is basically a sibling of tartar sauce) and the homemade tartar sauce reminded me very much so of remoulade. It was so rich and flavorful yet light because of the dill. Honestly never get the packaged tartar sauce, just always get their homemade. If you're looking for a good fish and chips place in the neighborhood, this the place to go and help support local businesses in these trying times! Thanks for the food!

Our favourite go-to fish and chips restaurant. The fish and chips are always delicious. The meals include coleslaw, which we’ve discovered not everyone does. The family who now own and operate the restaurant are friendly and hard working. They seem to have maintained the original recipes. We usually eat at the restaurant and service is pretty good. It’s not a fine-dining establishment but it’s way above fast food. It’s a very popular neighbourhood haunt. Long lineups on Friday evenings, usually for takeout and pickup. I highly recommend. If I have any complaint it’s that the booths are not meant for large people. It can be a tight fit. Take a table instead.

I can't say as I understand why so many people have nothing but superlative things to say about this restaurant. I visited last night with a friend and while I found the service friendly and timely, the food was, simply put, god awful. I ordered the halibut and chips. The piece of fish I was given was roughly half the thickness of pieces I normally receive at other fish and chip restaurants in the area. As a result it was overcooked and dried out. The batter was anemic and flavourless. The fries were also disappointing and even the ketchup they provided was some off-brand wretched affair. The worst part was the plate cost nearly $16 which is more than I've ever paid for halibut and chips at any other fish and chips restaurant. I think if, in future, they offered to pay me $16 to eat it, I would have to politely refuse. I do feel bad about being so harsh as it looks like a family-run place but they really need to step up their game as this was one of the worst fish and chips experiences I've ever had.

Prices are slowly creeping up - but I keep coming back! Haddock special, when I started working in the area, was 9 dollars. I think is i about 12.65 now, comes with a pop. It's as much food as you could possibly want, the batter is satisfyingly crunchy yet light and crispy, and the fish is great. I've seen them get their shipment of fish... HUGE fish that they cut up themselves - Very fresh! I'll keep coming back!

So, we’ve lived in the area for 6 years and had never been to Fisherman’s Place. Our neighbours told us about it the other day so we thought we’d try it. There are two of us; My wife and I. I was so excited to try everything that we ordered way too much! Halibut and chips? Check! Cod and chips? You know it! Digby scallops without chips? Why not! Oh, and let me try some of that creamy coleslaw please. We’ve made up for lost time. Oh, and what about those little donut bites? Just stop it! The food is as delicious as the family at Fisherman’s Place is friendly and welcoming. Did we order way too much? Absolutely. Do we regret it? Not on your life! Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Elaine and family. Everything was so amazing but now we’re feeling a little bit slee.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The service is so charming and accommodating. The staff are polite and the location is overall cozy and welcoming. The food is delicious from the amount of batter on the fish to the portions. The menu is full of options to choose from along with a great priced daily special. Also get the homemade tarter souce! It pairs perfectly with the light and airy taste of the fish. This restaurant was recommended to me and I personally recommend it to you.

Had a wonderful lunch. The place is very basic and nothing fancy but clean. Washroom is clean and tidy. The service was good and the staff fun and enjoyable. We had 8 people for lunch and every order was spot on. No complaints. Portions good size and prices reasonable. Easy access parking.

Very highly recommended. Pc of fish is huge, portion of fries is equally big - the crab cakes are a MUST and to boot, none of it is overly greasy! My favorite thing is that the pc of fish isn't a thin pc covered in an inch and a half of batter! It's a very thin coating of batter and a nicely sized fillet inside!

I ordered the halibut and chips. Although the fish was tasty it only consisted of 1 small piece of fish and far too many fries and no coleslaw. For the price I paid which was almost $ 16.00 it was definitely not worth the price. I ordered the pickled onions and was charged $ 2.25 for 5 tiny onions. Felt ripped off. I was a first time customer and now I am a last time customer. Not impressed !!!

It's kind of weird to see a place like this in an industrial strip-mall type area. At dinner time it is very packed with a long line-up, mostly of middle-aged and older people. Strangely, they also serve some Scottish items like haggis and steak & kidney pie. The actual fish and chips are exactly what you'd expect, good old-fashioned greasy battered and fried goodness. Haddock, halibut, cod and pollock are available. They also offer grilled salmon, salads, etc. Overall it tastes pretty homogeneous, but what can you expect when it's all fried in the same oil? Very nice portion sizes.

Second time trying this place out and it’s still a NO for me. Halibut was extremely dry just like the chips. Oil was OLD my fish tasted like rubber and the batter was bland. Homemade tartar sauce was good that’s about it.

I was a bit disappointed how I was given tarter sauce packets instead of the homemade tarter sauce that everyone keeps mentioning in the reviews. I had to go back in and ask for the homemade stuff and the cashier gladly gave it. I am a new customer and I came here based on reading reviews and particularly liked how they make they make it homemade so that was disappointing but I did enjoy the meal.
