Bronte Fish & Chips has awesome food. Honestly its the best fish and chips shop I've ever been too. The last time I was there, I had a couple of orders of Haddock Fish and Chips and it was to die for, plus I had to try to stuff in the onion rings as it goes so well with the fish and chips. I find its great value. I've been going for many years and would recommend this place to anyone. Its a family owed restaurant from what I understand and they are so down to earth. They have a lot of regulars and they remember you. I love the atmosphere and special attention they give everyone. Great cooks and great waitresses. Who could ask for more.

Dined here on Haddock and chips night. Delicious fish with a light crispy batter that doesn't feel heavy in your stomach like some fish and chips places. The Onion rings were also super tasty and perfect as well as the coleslaw. I had canned pop but the beer was quite cold according to another in my party. We came here from a different city so it's certainly worth any time to come support a business which has been family owned since 1968!

Stopped in tonight for take out while in town visiting family (we're from Ottawa). What a treat! I had haddock, chips and mushy peas (with some mushrooms). Spouse had scallops and chips. Everything was extra yummy and A+ service. Really wish there was a good chippy in Ottawa of this calibre.

picked up 2 orders of fish n chips from the shop, first impression clean and a true family element. both orders filled to the max with fries bursting out of the box and two pieces of haddock. easy to understand why the website and store has recognition and awards because the food was incredible. fries are clearly a labour of love and fish had a wonderful tasty batter. no ill feeling after eating more than my portion. snuck in an order of coleslaw only thing that left my wanting more was more vinegar for the chips. craving sedated. will return!! welll done bronte fish n chips.

First return visit in years. Terrific staff, our server was Kailey, cheerful and helpful. Food was great - well cooked and served on warm plates - a big plus in my opinion! Tea served in teapots with jug of milk - bonus!! Plan on return visit soon.

A decent Fish and Chips location, that offers halibut and other menu choices, and has dine-in seating (not during covid). The mac salad was pretty good too. We did a side by side comparison with the nearby Sammy's (dine-out only). Personally, I thought Sammy's fish and fries tasted slightly better, but Sammy's fish is haddock and Bronte offers a halibut choice. I think Bronte's fish was just a bit too oily, and the fries weren't as crispy for some reason, but the portion size was OK. Overall it was still a very good quick fish and chips meal. I think its approx. $20 for halibut F&C + mac salad. P.S. the staff was super friendly, which was very pleasant. It is also family owned and operated.

Great batter for the fried fish. The fish itself (we trued both haddock and halibut) needs some seasoning though. The onion rings tasted great albeit soggy. Overall a good place to visit once in a while (check when they have specials to get a better deal)

Ordered 2 cod & chips dinners. The cod was absolutely horrible. It looked like frozen fish that has been sitting in your freezer for 2 years and then you decide to cook it. The fries have never been that great either. But still continued to order from there until today. That is the last time I will order anything from Bronte Fish & Chips. Giving this a 1 star because I have to.

We have been going here for years and it is absolutely the best fish & chips you can get! Everytime we've been the fish have been perfectly cooked and we love the right balance of crispy and soft of the fries! The onion rings and homemade cheesecake are amazing too! We love that it is a family-owned and run restaurant as you can feel the warmth and caring as soon as you walk in the door. The service team are excellent - lots of smiles, quick service, friendly and always look to make everyone feel special. If you are looking for exceptional food and service, this is the only place you need to go to!

Chips are soft on the inside but not too soft, just right! Fish was good, seemed very fresh and the batter was yummy--classic British style. Visited this place yesterday on a whim. Was meeting with a good friend and I felt like fish. I was impressed with the quality of both the fish and the chips. And the slaw was superb. Everything hand made, everything delicious! I only buy halibut so I was happily surprised by the value. And no skimping on size either. Mountain of chips with hand battered halibut ... too good to express in words. Highly recommended.

I stopped here yesterday for a much needed late lunch during a long bike ride. It was superb. I’m from a coastal town in the UK so know a bit about fish and chips- and this was easily the best I’ve had since I arrived in Canada about 7 years ago. Much, much better than some I’ve had in very fancy places. Not only that but far superior to the vast majority I’ve had in the UK. Run by a really nice, friendly young couple too. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our Fish and Chips (Halibut), onions rings and coleslaw today. Very crispy and light batter. Tasty coleslaw too. Mum said she really didn't like onion rings but your onions were nice and sweet, lightly battered and crispy, she ate 2 large ones and really liked them. ???? Your owner is so nice and friendly. It was a wonderful experience. We took them to eat at a park on this gorgeous day as there is Take Out Only right now due to Covid.

I just began a job near here, and tried this place. Looks good, smells good. Service was terrible. Food only ok. Order taker quite actually seemed I had two heads when i asked for ketchup for my fries. I'm not sure if i flubbed an Oakville social convention; perhaps you're supposed to call ahead for your ketchup needs in Halton Region. Food was decent, but at 18 bucks out the door for lunch, i will definitely not be going back.

We have been doing take out from Bronte Fish and Chips for many years now and have always been happy with the food. Tonight for a Birthday surprise dinner my husband picked up an order of fish and chips. Much to our surprise we were quite disappointed with our dinner….the chips we cold and dried out and the fish seemed to have been re cooked…very hard crunchy crust. Perhaps will have to find a new spot in the future ????

Honestly the worst fish and chips I have ever tried in my life, don't know how they advertise being one of the best around and being in the area that they are you would think that it would be very good but it was absolutely terrible, the fries were dry, stale and no taste, not even edible, the fish didn't look like it was cooked properly, was still raw and mushy and the batter was so thick and even the batter wasn't cooked properly, nothing was even edible it was so disgusting, I could not even feed it to my dog, I threw everything on the ground and fed it to the seagulls but not even them would eat it.

Was craving fish and chips for weeks and settled on this place. They had a nice selection of fish (I took the cod). The cashier was sharp and processed my order quickly. The meal was ready in 5 minutes and was delicious. Really nice batter, tasty chips. I tried some coleslaw too! I love how old school it was. Will try the 11.99 haddock special next time.
