The food was a 50/50 split. The chowder, the crazy ninja roll and the fish from the fish and chips were all very good. The fries and the crispy kale salad weren't that good. Also the sushi chef leaves at 8:00pm so say bye to your late night sushi dreams.

Great setting, views across the water via a nice Marina. Good service and a menu with local options. My catch of the day featured steelhead trout on leafy green vegetables with a creamy sauce. Boiled, half radishes were a nice crisp surprise.

Great food with an amazing selection of local cuisine, and ocean wise seafood. Best part though has to be the view, on a clear day you can see all the way to the mainland with a view of the ocean and the marina itself. The food was positively delicious, the service was excellent, and the drink selection was great. Highly recommend.

We had a very good dining experience at the Marina Restaurant. The Buttermilk Calamari was a great appy with very tender calamari and crispy pieces of red pepper. The Panaco Crusted Halibut and fries were good as well. I had the Albacore Tuna and it was excellent. Our friends had the Lamb as a main course and they enjoyed this as well. We were all too full to have dessert. The server that we had was very attentive.

Don't know why this place isn't busier. People walk right up to you and just toss food at you. It's amazing. If you don't like fish then I'd pass. I mean if you don't like raw fish I'd also pass. If you don't like wading in the water while you wait for strangers to throw raw fish at you hard pass. Actually, if you're not a seal, I'd pass.

They have ample parking and the location is also great so you can go out for a stroll along Beach Dr. Will go there again. Their menu could do with some more options for vegetarians.

We have been eating at the Marina Restaurant for years, and it has always been consistently good and the recent sushi menu updates are delicious. You can enjoy a lovely view of the boats in the marina from the bar, and order food from the main menu or sushi bar. The cocktails are also excellent.

Terrible service. We happened to be driving by and decided to stop in. The hostess advised that they were going to be fully booked but had a table for two that would only allow an hour and a half instead of the usual two hours. I said no problem, we just wanted to grab a quick bite and go to the ferry. We were seated and the place was empty, and given menu's and water. Then left for 20 minutes. No one greeted us. No one asked us if we'd like to have a drink. No one took our order. So we left. You would think that they know this table is reserved in an hour and a half so why not hurry the service? Rude. And I would not recommend unless you like to be ignored.

Even on a gray day like today, the Marina is fabulous. Brunch food offers something for everyone, it includes all the classics done just right and creative variety including sesonal local foods. Very fresh. I loved the small rasberry pancakes, seafood choices, the omlette station where the chef will prepare the omlette of your choice. I had a small one which left room to try other things because I wanted to have room for desert - so many to choose from ... loved their signiature chocolate mouse which is light and just right with coffee. Staff are very attentive and curtious, the marina view is superb and relaxing - makes for such a perfect Sunday. After brunch we enjoyed a long walk along th Beach Drive to Willows Beach. Or you can have a shorter walk of the Marina, see the seals (the gift shop sells fish to feed the seals) they are so much fun to watch. Definetly returning.

I'm very sad. Came for my birthday dinner and my steak was not cooked right and the dish tasted really bad. I tried eating as much as I could but I had to stop less than a quarter way through my meal. I told the server when she packed up it wasnt done right and she just ignored my comment, packed it up, and charged it. We came because we remembered it being so good, but it was such a disappointment. Not happy when paying high prices for bad food.... I wish someone would have fixed it, I left very upset and now will never be returning. What happend to this place?

If your looking for a good seafood restaurant, keep looking. Service is slow and food is poorly done, not that the price reflects these issues. We deliberately made a reservation for a birthday. Upon arriving they had not prepared for our party. We waited for an hour to get service and then the food was barely eatable. Not what I would expect from a restaurant on the ocean in a city of foodies. Then we paid more then we would at a private club or fancy restaurant.

My wife and I went for our fifteenth wedding anniversary. First impressions are good but I think its largely because of the view. Once seated we felt the decor was looking tired and out dated. The service was great and all the employees were very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the calamari to start wich was excellent and highly recommended. My wife orded the halibut and i got the tuna steak with paella. Thats were it fell flat for us. Yhe main courses were just ok, the tuna was not seasoned well and bone cold. The paella was under cooked and had far too many contrasting flavors. It wasn't the worst food ive been subjected to but for the cost and expectations, it fell flat. In the end, i wouldn't go out of my way to return to the Marina Restaurant.

I love going to the Marina restaurant at any time of day: sought-after brunch, delicious lunch, and fine-dining dinner! The halibut fish and chips is a favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any of the fish plate, and the catch of the day is always a good option! Fish and seafood is extensively displayed in the menu, but there are vegetarian and meat options as well.

Went to the place this morning with my friend during buffet hour, and was told "go to the coffee house downstairs for affordable price" and "if you are rich enough for the buffet price you can get in", oh, and also "do you know what is BUFFET?" Wow, such a fascinating attitude towards customers, this was the first time in my life I got assumed as not affordable for a buffet. We tool a glance at the buffet section, it was quite tiny and I did not see much seafood. Anyway, we left the place and will never come back.

Bringing my physically challenged parents to this location was easily done. Handicap parking nearby and a ramp made access successful. It's Christmas season and our evening table sparkled with the marina lights below. How charming the whole evening was. Thank you to the attentive staff for their care and attention. We used to come to the Marina as a treat, for brunch. The service and the food were always excellent, as was the view. This is no longer the Marina we knew. The service was incredibly poor, and slow, and the food very middle of the road. It took us just shy of 10 minutes to have water delivered to our table, and another 10 before our waitress brought coffee. Almost an hour for our food, which was very middle of the road. We didn't want to complain but felt compelled to. The manager investigated and agreed that we had waited too long and comped our meal but by then, it was moot. The service was bad, the attention to detail was lacking (we paid for an extra serving of coffee cake because we were famished, and the waitress brought it in a dirty basket with our previously used butter dish), and our food was mostly cold once it arrived. We won't be back for a long time. Two stars instead of one because the meal was taken care of by the manager, the hostess was lovely and the coffee was good.

I recently celebrated my 60th birthday. Due to Covid travel restrictions we decided to take a Staycation in Victoria BC, our home! For 10 days we went out every evening to a local restaurant for dinner. We reserved a table atOak Bay Marina restaurant on Thursday Aug 12 and were seated at a lovely table for 2 at the window overlooking the Marina. We ordered 3 appetizers and shared a Main. The food arrived timely and hot in the order we requested. Our server Cal was efficient entertaining. The ambience was casual yet sophisticated. We enjoyed the experience as we watched the sun setting on the Bay. We highly recommend Oak Bay Marina restaurant away from the bustle of downtown and spectacular views of the Georgia Strait and majestic Mt. Baker.

The ambiance, food and service were excellent; However, the only disappointment was that we requested few slices of bread with our appetizer and couple slim slices were served and nothing was mentioned. Upon receiving the bill there was a charge of 2:00 dollars for these couple of extra slices whereas you can buy a whole small baguette. For such a high end restaurant that was a bit tacky. It’s not the amount it is the approach.

This restaurant is situated on the water..a beautiful location in Oak Bay in Victoria with lots of walking and bike paths. The food was tasty.Our disappointment was the waitress and perhaps the restaurants rules? We took our daughter out on her birthday, St. Patricks Day. The waitress was very forgetful on various levels. At the end of an awkward lunch experience we got charged for our daughters birthday dessert. We actualy have never been to a restauraunt when celebrating a birthday and not had it on the house as a nice gesture. Thought this was a bit odd. Was it our waitress once again...or do they not adhere to this kind gesture? Not sure but we left unimpressed .

Terrible Service . The quality of food was below standards . The food was uncooked and it tasted like the legumes came from a frozen bag . When we pointed it out to the manager she was argumentative and tried to be right instead of solving the problem. We went to the restaurant with the intention of having a nice family dinner and instead it ended up being a very bad experience.

I had a cold and a pretty stuffy nose so I couldn't get all the flavours but from what I could taste it was good and the food was hot when served too and the portions fairly generous for the price. Lunch October 10 with visitors from Vancouver. Review by Geoffrey Voss : As far as my lunch was concerned the quality and the quantity were below expectations. The spinach was course and warm, the chicken portion small, some pieces were warm and there was really nothing else except some small red flakes, all mounted above a thin layer of yellow plating sauce. Previous meals have been good so this was very disappointing.The waitress was excellent, the service very good.

What wasn’t expected was that the staff were very uneducated about the dietary information of their menu items Specifically what is Gluten free. I was assured by the waitress a few times that all their sushi is gluten free. It is not, I spent the night in pain after ingesting what is poison to my body. I have since learned that their sushi is not gluten free and only some of it can be made GF. To the OBM management, Please educate your staff!!

This restaurant serves Kuterra salmon. This is farmed Atlantic salmon. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Farming fish is strange thing to do, especially in a coastal Province. In BC the salmon offered should be from local waters - ie wild pacific salmon !!

Fantastic food; I got the “catch of the day” special, which was tuna. Super fresh tasting and presentation was great. Would go again! The Big Ben cocktail was also delicious. There is also a really nice view of the marina. Reservations would be wise for a larger group or during the dinner rush, as it was quite busy when we went.

Very disappointing Basically the food is way too expensive for what you get and the menu is very misleading. We ordered ceviche and what came was one prawn, one scallop and one calamari and some veggies but was not prepared like ceviche so sharing as an appy didn't happen. Next came the main course of prawns, scallops and gnocchi except there were not any gnocchis which we sadly pointed out to the server. A plate came with some gnocchi which was way too salty after we were finished with the seafood. Then for dessert came 3 teeny tiny truffles on a large plate. At that point we all had a good laugh as it looked so pathetic. The place was quite empty for a Friday night and the manager did not offer anything to offset our disappointing experience. He did apologize though We did not pay for the ceviche I might add because it really wasn't ceviche. We are locals and we will not be going back. Too bad. It was a good place until they jacked the prices up but didn't back it up with substance.

I was there for a professional meeting and there were two problems: The noise level was too high for comfortable conversation. The meal was served so late that I had to leave after the appetizer. I do not know who was responsible such a late meal on a "work" night. The food and drinks I did have were very good.

The Oak Bay Marina Restaurant has long been a favorite of mine whenever I'm visiting in Oak Bay. They didn't disappoint this time either. The food and service were exceptional. I can definitely recommend the Marina Restaurant.

Excellent views, unique menu with perfectionism apparent in every offering. Watch the gulls, sailboats and bustle of ocean breezes while dining and drinking in the comfort of this beautiful restaurant. Gorgeous bar overlooks a jazz club style seating arrangement. Booths and a sushi bar with open kitchen offers a pleasant and tasteful distraction. Nothing predictable here. Also features a few vegan options that are creative and convincingly vegan-designed and prepared. Go here!

Had brunch buffet today. The food was ok..nothing special. VERY expensive for what was available and the quality. $42.95 per person. Surroundings are nice...and service was good. If it wasn't for those 2 elements..I would have given a 2 star rating for food.

Food quality went from “wow!!!” to “ok” in 2018. Used to be my favorite place in Victoria — not anymore. Not worth the price now. Need to get the quality back to the old level.

Nice place, good food, prices reasonable. Nice views. However i didn't get what I ordered but got something close. They offered to replace it but I said it was fine.

Fabulous fare. Local gem. Everything arrived at the table hot. The Sablefish was excellent. Service was very good. I was a little shocked to see Farmed, Kuterra Salmon on the menu given that the restaurant is owned by the Oak Bay Marine Group -- whose core business is fishing charters. Aquaculture, farmed salmon are one of the largest threats to wild salmon stocks. It's enough for me to not return.

You have on your menu Tabbouleh salad , and yours has nothing related to Tabbouleh , maybe only the name , and when I asked what is this ? the answer was, oh , it's another version of Tabbouleh . Please name your salad something else , you're giving the famous salad a bad reputation , at the same time deceiving your customers , I was excited that I found my favourite Tabbouleh salad on your menu ,then shocked to discover that it's totally something else . I'm from Lebanon , so I know what Tabbouleh is . Please , change the name. Every thing else was good .

We ate here last night. The appy was truly delightful, and I left not one crumb. The main was a bit too soggy; there was a thin layer of unrendered/uncrisped fat on the otherwise perfectly cooked pork chop. I left a third of it. I go to this restaurant with my friend about 3 times per year. 80% of the time, the experience is excellent. We will continue going.

We love their Sunday brunch! They have more choices than others, but they can add a bit more like their spiced calamari, seafood chowder and more Japanese food. Staffs are super friendly and the view is amazing!

What a GREAT spot! The chef has paired flavors that blow your mind and entice your taste buds. The staff are helpful and friendly. Don't even get me started on the scenery and atmosphere. I can't wait for my next visit.
