Food was very tasty. Service light-hearted and appropriate. Allowed a taste of wine before ordering a bottle.

Meeting our friends there after so much time was a special occasion for us, so we were a bit apprehensive. Now this has become our place for special occasions. Food is top notch, service is wonderfully friendly and competent. My orders all passed my test with flying colours! I hope the chef and owner don't change, you're my last resort for good food. Really.

Blighty's is always so good. The food is unique and flavourful and everyone there is fun and relaxed. I had steak and frites last time I was there and still think about it. Best. Ever.

I have never been here before but this is a cool place!

Dinner was delicious and the service was spectacular. Despite being the only server on shift and a full house, Angie made us feel like we were her most important table. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful birthday last Saturday October 19th. The food and wine, ambiance and especially the staff, made my evening so very special. I just love this place. A real "Oak Bay" treasure. The owner is a beautiful 35 year old (ish) and she has a generous and warm personality. She is so proud of her business, her staff and especially her chef and the menu.

Brian Holt

We had an amazing time at Blighty’s. Our server, Angie, was extremely charming and had us laughing all night. The duck breast and lamb entrees were delicious and the crème brûlée was exceptional. Highly recommended. A new favourite in Oak Bay.

Kristine Gretzinger

Had an amazing a romantic night here shortly after new years! We had a great server, and a decadent delicious meal!

I brought my family to Blighty's Bistro based on excellent reviews on Google and Yelp. It was myself, my beautiful wife, our thirteen year old son and our two year old son. Full disclosure, this is NOT a place to bring a two year old. The clientele did not seem like the type of people who were interested in having a toddler in the restaurant and definitely looked down there noses at us. (Little did they know, our toddler has the pallet of a Chevron reviewer. Haha) Never the less, the owner Richelle was not bothered by it in the slightest, and made us feel very welcome. We wanted to try a little of everything so we ordered several things and split them tapas style. First off, Richelle could tell the kids were a bit restless and hungry so she brought out a plate with pureed honeydew topped with prosciutto bits and basil in shot glasses along with bread and butter. We all got a kick out of this fun little surprising treat. The flat bread was topped with basil, arugala and figs with balsamic all over the top. It was tasty, I would recommend. The fish cake was halibut and salmon with jicama and potato. It was a bit dry and needed salt but had potential. We also ordered the tenderloin medium rare. It was covered in sea salt, mushrooms and butter and was cooked to perfection. This was amazing and we would all highly recommend. This is a hidden gem and the food was fantastic. Great experience!

Now I just want to start off by saying that I don't expect every restaurant to cater to vegetarians, gluten free or vegans. That being said, when you are one of the above, and are invited to dinner at a place that doesnt have options on the menu for you, it's hard to feel welcomed from the get go.You end up feeling like an outsider and it can really kill the experience/dynamic of the visit. Though they don't mention it on their website a (From what I was able to see) Blighty's does say to call in before hand and they will personally make a meal that you can actually eat! We actually did not call in and they were still able to throw together something decent (albeit a salad... But I digress). However, especially when it is a high end gourmet restaurant like Blighty's, it is nice to just feel like there is an option for you and that the restaurant is experienced in serving multiple types of food regardless of whether you are omni or vegetarian/vegan. Reflecting your chefs expertise through putting epicurian options on the menu wouldn't hurt and just further shows your chefs experience with diverse pallattes and diets. But I still can't help but feel that it's the 21st century and most restaurants, though they have no obligation other than to cater to as many customers as possible, should at least have a single vegan/vegetarian main course on their menu (that isn't just salad or soup). Maybe if enough people request it, Blighty's will too! Overall good food from what I was able to try, so I would recommend it; however, if you are vegetarian or vegan you may want to think about another place until they expand their menu a bit! There are quite a few restaurants in town that have multiple gourmet vege options, and even though Blighty's is a gourmet place, they are still stuck a little in the past. Great if you are omni though I'm sure.

While visiting in Victoria B.C. for a few days, Blighty's Bistro was recommended by our host Ron and Cathie Dias. So glad they did! Cathie called in advance and Richelle was expecting us and greeted us by name. Excellent food and wine along with a charming & quaint atmosphere to enjoy our dinner for two. Go here...You won't be disappointed!!

I had a wonderful time at Blighty's for dinner. The food delicious and beautifully presented. Every dish was outstanding. 10 stars to the chef's in the back! Sam and James. And a special thanks to Bob our fabulous waiter who made the even so fun.

Kevin Chaval

Friendly, personable owner with great taste in food & design. The space is beautiful, quaint and Blighty's Bistro has a creative flare with delicious food. Art is by the owner and really brings the space to life. We'll be back for another romantic date night.

A new (to us) special occasion place.

This was by far one of the best dining experiences I've had, in the 36 years of my life. Amazing food, great service.

Steven Joe

Cosy/funky little Westcoast restaurant. The ambience is fun, but a little casual with umbrellas on the ceiling and hanging single pieces of ribbon everywhere (a little low if you are tall). Wait staff is great, lots of fun and engages perfectly with the guests. Wine list is better than expected. Food was all generally quite good, but nothing super exciting. Prices are reasonable.

Olena Martynets

Great restaurant! The food was delicious and great service.

Samira Bakhshandeh

Such a great restaurant I've ever been, amazing wine list and such a variety of cuisine on their menus. ????

Oksana Perets

Delicious food and excellent service. Love this restaurant! It’s very cozy and welcoming.

Wonderful restaurant with fabulous food and a special atmosphere. My husband and I had the lemon cream pasta with chicken and it was superb. Angie, the server was lovely and was happy to accommodate a small tweak to the dish (chicken instead of seafood). I highly recommend visiting this Victoria classic. Always a great experience!

Heather Penney

Fabulous food, ambience, location and service. The owner Rachelle is terrific...someone who knows her clients and runs a wonderful establishment.

Robert Cullen

My wife, her friend, and I had a great meal at Blight's Bistros . The Calamari appetizer was the best we've had. The pasta was terrific. The Tangled Thai Salad was enjoyed by my wife. In all, the ambience, the service and attention, and the food was the best.

It was the first time I had ever been to Blighty's - however had heard multiple recommendations. The expectations were definately upheld! I went with 2 friends and we all sampled 3 appetizers, 3 mains, and 3 desserts (covid safe of course). My favorite thing about my proccuito wrapped prawns (minus them - was the Korean BBQ sweet chilli dip). The sable fish, well ... simply, was the best I ever have tasted. Served with root vegetables and fingerling potatoes - flavor-full perfection. Chef James Pratap never ceases to amaze and brought out a trio of desserts for us satiated ladies. Even though I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I honestly crave that creme brulee daily somehow... On top of the delectable food experience, they carried my favorite wine - Burrowing Owl. In these times it is so important to support local. And as the final cherry to top the memorable experience, Angie - our companion of experience, guide in unknown territory (I'm a bit picky) was simply, extraordinary. Personable, sincere and a master or blending the customer, experience and Blighty's team together, just hope you get her table side! Chef also came out to thank and mingle with his patrons which I found to be humble and just like our little city of Victoria, Perfect ! Thank you !

Catered a private corporate function for us and it was incredible. Angie was a terrific host and did a great job not only via her incredible service but also with the preplanning of our event. We had a dinner the week before with friends …

Now talk about a well OVERRATED place. We were new to Victoria and went to eat on a Saturday night and were lucky enough to get a table. The place was packed, the menu looked good and Blighty's has been established a long time so we thought we couldn't go wrong. WRONG. We were told the menu had just changed that day, and I ordered a chicken curry and my husband a fish curry. It was obvious that my chicken had been fried separately, overseasoned with black pepper (you could still see it stuck all around individual pieces) and then tossed last minute in a curry sauce. Bravo. By far the worst meal I've had. The fish curry wasn't as bad but just bland. The food alone I didn't think deserved a bad review, as perhaps we hit a night the chef was a little off or he wasn't familiar with his new menu (although he reallly should be). But the owner's behaviour was appalling and that threw me over the edge. Firstly she was trying too hard to be hip and friendly. She is very uncool and for the record SHORT SKIRTS ARE A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT. Second, she came to our table whilst we were eating and proceeded to chat for too long as we wanted to eat but not be rude so our food got cold. As she was chatting to us she put one knee on the chair next to us, spreading her legs apart a little (still wearing above the knee dress) and then started picking at what I can only assume was hard skin on her foot. I wish I could draw a picture here but YES, IT WAS GROSS.

We had an absolutely amazing meal last night at this little gem. Young and imaginative talent in the kitchen, fantastic service and cozy atmosphere. Just an all around enjoyable experience. Can't wait to come back!

We enjoyed the food, quiet and cosy atmosphere, and 5 star service. Angie was the only server in the restaurant, and served us with just the right combination of friendliness and attention, while allowing us to focus on our very good dinner. Highly recommend the Ceasar salad. I'll be back.

Bea Ratsoy

Had lunch today on Blighty's patio. It was not busy. We had an excellent meal and service.

This past week was our first visit but it won't be our last. The mood, soft lighting, pleasant music and decor created a wonderful ambience. Even before the food, the best part was our server, Angie, who is very warm, engaging, sincere, professional and eager to provide a memorable experience. She was a highlight! My husband and I enjoyed the flatbread to start with water buffalo cheese, capers and caramelized onions. I had the Chef's pasta of the day which was risotto with a roasted carrot, coconut and orange sauce topped with a grilled chicken breast. It sounded unusual and I was a bit hesitant but decided to try it and it was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every bite. My husband had the seared duck breast with fingerling potatoes and a variety of tasty seasonal vegetables which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. Both our meals were beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and delicious. Our compliments to the wonderful chef! We had an absolutely delightful experience!

This is our place for special occasions. We book well in advance to secure a window table for two. Food is top notch, service is wonderfully friendly and very helpful. I would eat there every week if my wife would let me!

Last week, while visiting Victoria from Ontario, we had dinner at Blithy's Bistro, a favorite of our local friends. We were greeted at the door by owner Rachelle who was most plesant and friendly. We decided to try several dishes and started with a large bowl of Chef Eddie's famous fries. They were incredible, very thin and tasty. We also had a couple of other wonderful apetizers. For dinner we had the chicken breast, the pork dish and a pasta. The dinner was followed by a delicious chocolate cake devised by Chef Eddie. It was fabulous. We did get the opportunity to meet Chef Eddie and thanked him for the great meal. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Our favourite place to celebrate with friends from town, and visitors..We have never been disappointed. The ambience is cozy, Richelle goes out of her way to make you feel welcome, and the food is always delicious. We have been going for many years, and it has been fun to watch the menu continuously evolve.

Dropped in an hour before they close and they welcomed us for a late dinner. The waitress was really friendly and kindly explained what their specials, menus for the day and taste of wines. They were following the COVID procedures really …

I called numerous times and no one answered for the booking. I tried booking online but i realized that after 6 pm its always shows not available for booking. Its really frustrating because my friend told me they have a new chef and the food is amazing! Please fix your system guys!

We went for dinner here this evening and had a great meal. Angie, the waitress, was very friendly, competent and accommodating. The menu had a limited number of items on it; all of them sounded delicious. We split a garden salad, I had the prawns wrapped in prosciutto for a main course and my husband had the pasta special. James, the chef, came out at the end to ask how our meal was. I thought this was a nice touch. We are from out 9f town, but if we lived here this place would be a regular spot for us. Absolutely loved it.

Al Bocca

Not That Good We thought we give this place a try it was a disappointment we ordered the brie appetizer and it was bland and on the menu it said it came with red pepper jelly and we received just diced red pepper come on restaurant the public knows what pepper jelly is! Our server Angie was great told us it could be changed on the menu…it’s just it’s just a piece of paper easy to do so why didn’t they do it the question? thanks Angie for the complementary glass of wine for this mistake …and our main dishes were so so ….the veg on the dishes were over cooked aweful zucchini To bad we won’t be back

Blighty's Bistro was a wonderful experience. Excellent food and outstanding service. Loved the pasta special and fish special. They were both out of this world. We even had the flat bread special which was great. We're here for a month and we'll definitely be back multiple times.

David McDonald

Just got home from Valentine's Day dinner at Blighty's. Our meal was delightful. Food was creative and every bite was very tasty. Atmosphere was beautiful; every table seemed to pick up the happy energy of every other table. My wife and I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable Valentine's Day. Thanks to Richelle and staff for making it all happen.

From start to finish, delicious to decadent. This place is a fantastic find!
