I come here regularly and pick up a box of oysters, great for gatherings or to satisfy that seafood cravings. Did I forget to mention the lovely staff that have been there for years?! Girl's night out...and it was a good one!!! Had the: 1. Wild cod - cooked and seasoned perfectly 2. Grilled octopus- texture was incredible. Seasoned well. Very well done. 3. Oysters Rockefeller - well done 4. Medley of fresh shucked oysters - cleanly shucked, no shells or grit (which is a huge deal), maintained the oyster liquor. Served with 3 different sauces... 5. Bouillabaisse - delicious ( from what I was told) 6. Mango creme brulee: very good. Great finish. Our server, forgot to ask his name, was attentive. Service was quick. Prices were reasonable. Overall, great experience!!

Absolutely horrible service experienced today，21/12/2018. The service staff laughed at my wife's pronoucation of 14 and 40. "can you do better next time?" the staff told my wife, when my wife them told the staff member "four zero" she was served 4 fish, once again my wife insisted on the numbe rof fish she wanted the staff said "are you happy now?" There are many much better ways to treat your customer despite their language skills. This is unacceptable behaviour no matter the circumstance. Thank you for your service we will be sure to never return again.

Dined here throughout the years with usually a great experience. This evening I called for a takeout order and was greeted by a very rude woman on the phone. As I did not know they had a limited menu during this time I asked what salads and appetizers were available for takeout and she made it very clear that she was very inconvenienced that I had asked her this question. She told me that I should look online to see what the take out menu was, and when I did the button to click the takeout menu wasn’t working. She said she would have to go look at a menu to tell me what appetizers were available at which time she put me on hold, then a gentleman came back on the line, who proceeded to take my order with ease. I ordered appetizer muscles, and 2 pastas. Super difficult lol.

Great for oysters at the bar with beer or wine, but completely mediocre and overpriced for lunch or dinner (and I live across the street - I've been here many times for dinner!). Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, restaurant is clean, food is fresh. But the food is so unremarkable! One time, for lunch, I ordered a grilled tuna wrap (that specifically mentioned fresh tuna) and got canned tuna. The staff were quick to apologize and took it off my bill... but yuck! Canned tuna at a seafood restaurant? Calamari is good, fish entrees are always fine... but for the price, I would go just about anywhere else. I don't know how else to explain this other than "uninspired". Relatively common fare, and not in a classic way. I would expect this kind of presentation to be about $13 less per plate. You could get this stuff at any pub. Last spring/summer they had a mussels, fries, and pint of beer special on. That was delicious! I hope they do that again.

One of our orders is “seafood platter for two”. I ordered this one before and liked it, but this time I got a small plate which was only half of what it was before, and the salad leafs were not fresh. I thought maybe I told them that I liked the dish and I ordered it this time just for myself so they made it just for one, so I didn’t ask them about the size of the dish, but at end they billed it $28 as originally for two. My husband's salmon portion was also pretty small. Not sure what was going on there. It’s very disappointing. I won't go there anymore.

We've been there (& also its Markham branch) multiple times & found it's been one of the best seafood places that we've ever visited. The oysters are always fresh, with great selections & sizes. The other food are super too like clam chowder, pasta, fish, etc. Staffs are friendly & knowledgeable about seafood & drinks. We can't find anything to comment or complain. AMAZING PLACE FOR FRESH AND FROZEN SEAFOOD WITH DECENT PRICE. There are so many types of fresh fishes and oyster that you can’t find from anywhere else. They usually have promotions for certain types of seafood during the week. Price is really reasonable and competitive. They have so many types of fresh fishes, scallops and shrimps. Sashimi-grade seafood is available too. If you can’t find it just ask the staffs. They are super helpful. We bough oyster from the restaurant instead of the market cuz we dont know how to open them. This place is clean, compared to other seafood markets.

We called for a reservation and was told to come at 8pm for dinner but could try walking in earlier and try or luck. We walked in at 6pm and found the place more than half empty! The air conditioning was brutal and the kids were curling up with me in my sweater. After asking for it to be adjusted they did for 10 whole minutes then blasted us again. The food wasn't good and the price was about $175 for 4 meals and fries for the kids. The service was nothing worth mentioning until they tipped themselves $24 on the bill. Out of respect for my wife I didn't complain. One of the worst restaurant experiences. My wife (asian) felt that we were treated badly because we were not rich chinese like the staff and other patrons.

We were a bit disappointed. Diana's Seafood has a great reputation, so my wife and I decided to see what the deal was. The fresh fish looked good and we bought an assortment of fresh and frozen items. The fresh scallops from Digby were amazing, but at quite a cost. We paid about $30 for 6 scallops - maybe that's right... we don't actually know. But this is a bit of the story overall. The items seemed a touch overpriced (however, I suppose it is just the cost of business). The frozen snow crab was priced higher than what we are used to from our other fish monger. *Edit: the mussels were quite good too. The mussel-to-shell ratio was quite high

wow what a place, I'm a seafood lover and I was pleasantly surprised by this seafood market. Many fresh wild varieties reasonably priced. They also clean the fish. I asked them to remove the eyes since we keep the heads and they didn't do that and said we don't do surgery. I thought they were joking and they were not lol It would have been a nice touch if they did clean out the eyes... but doesn't negate the fact they have great selection. I'll be back for sure.

We were a party of 8....birthday dinner...if i could give it 0 stars i would....bad service and overpriced....food good but not great...45 min for appetizers to reach the table...30 min for dinner...had to ask for dinner rolls ,and that took 45 min to reach the table... order dessert but left because it took too long to get to the table. The tables were not even made up properly as there was no water on the table or no water glasses and we had reservations. The bill came out to $600 at the end of the day rounded up.. slacking in service and hospitality nothing like the dianas seafood I remembered in the years past just disorganized such a disappointment

It is the best place to buy seafood in Toronto, tons of selection and it doesn't smell like fish when you get in :) We got frozen crab, and a dozen of oysters ; I recommend the french kiss oyster, very tasteful. We dined at the restaurant and it was 10/10, delicious food and the service was amazing. We went to get seafood after at the market to prepare for a giant dinner for my dad's birthday. We got two striped bass, a red snapper, a bag of cherry stone clams, 5 dozen kuushi oysters, a box of Beau Soleil, a box of French kiss, and a lb of fresh scallops. Upon paying, I waited for the fish to be cleaned while my mom went to go put the rest of the seafood in the car. Shortly after she came back in to tell the cashier she charged her the wrong amount for a different item for the cherry stone clams. Right above the cherry stones was a giant sign saying Special! 29.99 but we were charged $42 instead. The cashier, Talua, INSISTED that my mom was wrong and that she picked out a different bag of clams, but we specifically read the labels first and grabbed the bag under the sign. The cashier then started saying, if you dont have the money to pay for it then don't buy it (Come on lady, use your common sense. If we paid for it in the first place of course we have the money.) She started escalating her words, which at this point seemed pretty racial because we are chinese. We had to get a Co worker to come back to the car with us to verify that my mom was right and they were Cherry stone clams, and the manager had to come out to give us a refund and apologize. But the cashier in the end, REFUSED to apologize which was not only disappointing but disgusting as well. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry, you learn you should NEVER argue with a customer. Her attitude was garbage and she continued to tell my mom it was her fault and that she was wrong. Everyone in the store could see how badly she was handling the situation. In a professional point of view, whatever the job, you have to train your workers to handle situations like these professional.

I'd suggest going early to buy any seafood meats you want. Stuff sells fast. Everything is fresh and when it's sold out, it doesn't get replenished until the next day. Staff is also very friendly.

If you have special orders, they are more than happy to accommodate and set you up with whatever you need. Staffers are very fair and generous with advice. One stop shop for anything seafood related. The best seafood option in the area and maybe the entire city. Very busy but always worth the line ups. Huge selection of all things seafood - fresh and frozen fish from around the world, huge selection of oysters (East and West Coast), shrimps, lobster, you name it, they have it (including all the accoutrement you need for a great meal). Staff is knowledge and friendly. Parking is a bit of a challenge, so I would recommend trying to avoid lunch and the after work rush.

The market is a compact wonder of fresh and live seafood and all sorts of additional food items that complement that seafood. So it's my go to place for fresh oysters. Buy them by the dozen or get real value by picking up bulk cases. Share them with good friends and have fun with your own shucking fest at home. Don't forget the lemon and horseradish. This is a great place with a variety of fresh seafood options to choose from. Everything from whole fish, to oysters, mussels, lobster, crab and fish filets you can’t go wrong. It is a tad on the expensive side overall but I guess fresh seafood doesn’t come cheap these days. I’d definitely return again myself so I guess I would recommend people to try them out too ????????

Without a doubt the best clam chowder I ever had, even better than the many I ate last year on the east coast. The oysters were amazing as well, but the freshly grated horseradish could have been a bit sharper. The tiramisu was perfect as well. The selection of fresh fish is unsurpassed and the are prepared to perfection. All this, does come with a price. Which is why we went when the oysters were on special. This restaurant and seafood purveyor is a must visit.

Most expensive meal we've had in many, many years, and honestly, one of the most disappointing. Everything was heavily over salted (my wife couldn't even eat the rice or salmon). I had a steak that I'm pretty sure just had HP sauce on it, along with an overcooked lobster that had a bowl of butter that tasted like burnt popcorn. for 2 people to spend $270 on a meal and not enjoy a single item that was brought to our table is pretty unacceptable. Sorry, if you're going to charge these rates for a meal you need to make sure you have chefs in the kitchen that can justify the price.

Honestly, I didn't know what to think walking into Diana's. I joined my family for a birthday dinner and was very impressed from start to finish. Unfortunately, we did not order the oysters (every table had some!). From the warm and so helpful employees to a 5/5 meal I am definitely coming back in the near future. This is the place to get your raw oysters!! If you don't know which to get, Fanny Bay is a good one. But my favorites are Kumamoto and Lambertini. Another must have is sea urchin roe (uni). Unfortunately, the price is now $18.88 a pack (used to be much cheaper).

Had to wait an hour to be seated. Had to ask for drinks 5 times. Was promised 12 oysters while we waited... never arrived. Came for grilled calamari and scallops.... were told both were all sold out. Asked for their driest wine... was presented with 3 SWEET wines and took 4 attempts to even get served he wine the waiter recommended. Had to ask several times to be served our first order of apps and WATER!!! Gratuity was already added as part of the total. Talked to manager and all she was willing to do was take the tip off the bill. Horrible Valentine’s experience. Was not something to be celebrated!

We depend on them for our daily dose of omega 3. Haven’t seen such variety in choice anywhere else yet. From lobsters to scallops to mussels to shrimps to salmon and king fish they have what you are looking for. The place is very clean and well kept and the staff is very helpful. They also have a counter behind billing where they will clean and cut the fish like you wish. It is slightly more expensive than the Chinese fish shops but comparable or cheaper than Longos or Loblows.

We come all the way from Mississauga to go to Diana's! The selection and quality of oysters is fabulous and fresh and the food is good as well. The decor is modern and the staff are friendly. Amazing fast service from Gorecery app with free delivery, and items arrived fresh (oysters even prewashed) and great packaging. Fresh oysters at our door within 2 hours! Wow wow wow! This was such an awesome experience! The seafood was so fresh! I went with my family and it was the first time a few of us had oysters. Everything was really fresh. The lobster, crab and shrimp roll has chunks of shrimp with shredded crab and lobster I just wish it had more lobster.The blue Hawaiian drink was delicious, it was green which was a little confusing. Overall it was a really delicious meal, and I am already making plans for my next trip there.

Fabulous place for oysters, but the rest of the menu is very pedestrian with run of the mill preparation and little or no seasoning. Couple all this with prices that are simply too high for the quality of food and Diana's is a place that would be hard to re-visit, although sitting at the oyster bar and having a few of the excellent beer on tap selections is definitely a possibility.

I really had high hopes for this place because I've had and enjoyed their oysters in the past. I recently ordered some Malpeque oysters and the clam linguine. The oysters were fine, but the clam linguine made me sick for the rest of the night. There was no foul odor to the linguine, but I know that it was the linguine and not the oysters because the oysters were shared with a friend, who was fine. I will probably order oysters here in the future, but my experience with the food makes me hesitant to try anything else again. This could've been a one-off, but am sharing my experience.

We were a group of 11. Our food was great. Although some would say the appetizers are a small portion for the price, the are in like with the "fine dining" places. That being said the entrees were a lot of food. The dress code is casual and the vibe is relaxed. The freshness of the seafood is what will get you to go to the market next door to buy some more oysters to shuck at home if you didn't already plan that. The only downside at this restaurant is that it isn't really setup for a large group-which we were.

I went to the Markham location ready to pay good money for good seafood. One of the items my partner and I ordered was the Platter for 2 priced at $34. We asked our server if it infact serves 2 which we were assured that it does. The platter served to us was laughable. I have pictures of the platter but unfortunately cannot post it here. Great place to get seafood, very good and large selection compared to most other places. Was able to get wild halibut, red snapper and salmon. They also had oysters, mussels, clams, lobsters, crabs, caviar, scallops and much more. They also have a section where you can go get your fish cleaned, gutted, and cut after paying at cashier. There are little details like free packs of ice at the exit provided to keep fish cool and sink to wash hands. Good place overall, will be go to place to get seafood.

I completely have no idea that they were close at that time and went in the market from the back door, then a guy confronted me like ‘how did you get in? We’re closed!’ in a rough and rude tone. On April 19, 2015 I purchased 1 dozen Fanny Bay oysters which I brought home, washed thoroughly and proceeded to shuck. Upon opening them, the edges of the oyster were black and many of the oysters had worms crawling inside the shells. Needless to say we threw them out. I was visiting family in Scarborough and found this gem. Loved it so much I ate there two days in a row out of my 3 days there. First off we were 6 so we got to try a little bit of everything since everybody got different meals. Everything was excellent!! The oysters were so good probably the best I ever had. The lobster pasta was off the hook. The best Chilean sea bass. Amazing shrimp and scallops. The next day we went for lunch and I had the best fish and chips I ever had along side with fried oysters and I tried a lobster roll for the first time which was delicious. If you want fresh and the most delicious seafood this place is a must go! The market next door was pretty impressive as well.

Very cozy seafood supermarket, fresh seafood and usually came here for the oyster, the store staff recommend three different types of oyster, each one is delicious, creamy and juicy. Will try some other kinds next time. Price is reasonable, usually about 15dollars for a dozen depending on the species. Recommended!

They truly have fresh fish but their prices are a bit expensive. You avoid frozen fish as you can find much cheaper at your local costco. At $17lb for grouper it will cost more than $120 for the ones they sell. Expensive but good quality most of the time.

Dinner & Drinks at Diana's was amazing. The servers were readily available so I did not go without, but most importantly they weren't on top of you so it didn't feel intrusive at all. The Owner stopped over and greeted us as well, which I feel was a nice added touch to an already great evening. I look for smell and cleanliness when I go to a seafood joint and Diana's is above the bar here - The restaurant was spotless and the air was fresh, a good sign of fresh produce. I got a chance to finally dine at Diana’s last weekend and even though I had to wait 20 minutes to be seated, it was well worth the wait. Very disappointed and it was an extremely unpleasant experience for us. Not returning and definitely not recommending at all ... !!!!! I took my fiancé to this restaurant for his birthday.. The food came in a very dirty plate and we asked the waiter to change the plate for us with so much attitude and I’m not even sure they do proper sanitizer their stuffs in a proper way. When we expressed our concerns with the manager (Paul) , he showed absolutely no reaction and acted as if it was a norm in that restaurant. There was no apology or no explanation. I am very disappointed as I was expecting a higher quality of service.

My family has been getting salmon to make sushi from Diana's for a few years now as both their fish and service were amazing. However on my last 3 consecutive visits, the salmon was in less than great condition. There were many 'cracks' inside the fish making us think that they were dropped and harshly handled. The texture was mushy instead of smooth. The first time we blamed it on bad luck, however since this also occured 2 consecutive times after, I can only assume their quality of fish handling has decreased.

Celebrated my birthday here with my family. Had high hopes for this restaurant (my 1st time eating here). We were most disappointed! The salmon, shrimp, scallops were bland. No special ambiance despite the high prices. Customer service was poor. We waited a very long time to be served even though we were told twice during our wait that our food will be the next out of the kitchen. We will not return to this restaurant. Not worth your money!

The salmon filets were excellent...the best I have ever bought. The pieces were pre-cut and a little to big for my family. Next time I will have them cut to 6 oz. Very, very clean store with excellent service.

Great selection of oysters! Today I picked up some oysters from Ireland, and saw many different oysters from Maine, PEI, B.C., etc. The staff behind the counter are very friendly and knowledgeable as well. While we were there, we were asking about if the live scallops could be eaten raw, and the lady took the time to show us how to clean/prepare them before slurping them down! We also wanted to give monkfish a try and as we were googling to figure out what to do with them, the lady behind the counter asked us what we were trying to search and she gave us all the answers we needed! It wasn't my first time there, but it's always refreshing to have great customer service backing a great bunch of products.

Hey girl, I just posted this review.... I visited the store on May 8, 2021. The line was very long but moving rather fast. As a newbie I would have appreciated it if there was a greeter assisting customers with the protocol of the store. The 1st gentleman was very friendly, as was the lady at the fish counter. I order 3 snappers, some halibut and 1/2 of salmon steak. I was informed by the friendly lady behind the counter that your ordered fish are cleaned once purchased. As I cashed out the cashier Sonia was very friendly. She was efficient and moved customers out quickly with a smile. I noticed 1 person of colour behind the fish cleaning counter to which I greeted with a head nod. Now, as I approached the counter another older gentleman inquired as to how I wanted the fish cleaned. I advised and he complied. However when he finished I was unaware that the plastic white bags are used for taking the fish away. The older gentleman appeared annoyed that I was attempting to grab the clear bag with my hand?! I did not know, this was my first time at the store. When he finally placed the item in the plastic white bag he became dismissive and flashed his hand at me to say "just go"??! Typically I would have said something to management, but why bother, The man at the door with long pepper gray hair witnessed it all and said nothing. He saw how I was dismissed. I do not want to pull the race card but it is hard to change the mindset of older white males. I was really disappointed. Hats off to your cashier Sonia, but as a black woman...I won't ever return to this store. I will buy my fish in Kensington Market where they treat ALL people with genuine customer service. I must also mention I was stared at by everyone since no other customer in there really looked like me so I guess I stood out.

Usually and excellent place for fresh oysters. We were told we had to buy something from the menu to get the oysters from $1.88 to $1.00. We bought the shrimp cocktail ($19) and they gave us 3 shrimps and a lemon. Definitely would not recommend the shrimp cocktail. Oysters are always outstanding.

The selection is good, the seafood counter was helpful, and cashier friendly. Only thing that might prevent regular return is that the gentlemen at the door made a remark to other customers about a previous customer and her ethnic group when she used the wrong door, which was unwelcoming.

Horrible customer service!!! Greatly disappointed! I've been to Diana's Seafood several times in the past and had always loved it until this weekend. I bought almost $100 worth of product at the store and the cashier forgot to put my sauce in the bag. I found out when I got home. I had to drive all the way back to the store and there was the sauce sitting behind the counter. I told the cashier the situation and she brushed me off saying I will have to wait for her to finish helping the people in line. There was about 20 people in line!! So I saw the owner in the back. I recognized him because we have had conversations in the past. I told him my situation and gave him the receipt. Instead of being understanding and giving me good customer service, he actually accused me of attempting to steal the sauce! He said he had a photographic memory and if he finds out from the cashier that I'm lying, he will never let me in his establishment again. Also, he said that it was my fault for leaving the sauce behind. Why in the world would I steal seafood sauce? And if I did want to steal the sauce, why would I tell him about it first??? Some customer service! A good owner would not only apologize for the inconvenience but also perhaps given me something for my troubles - not that I wanted anything else! I was just shocked over the treatment I received and this was in front of all the people in line. I was so embarrassed. I knew also that he did not remember our past conversations the way he was talking to me like some criminal. Some photographic memory! It is unfortunate what has happened and because of this experience, I will never step foot there ever again. And I will be sure to share my experience with others.

This place was extremely disappointing, I had pre-ordered $100 worth of oysters from the morning to be picked up at 5pm. Upon arrival there was a massive line up of 80 people, everyone was angry waiting in line, they clearly over booked orders and were extremely disorganized. Once i finally got to the counter after hours of waiting the customer service was absolutely unacceptable, they were not only rude to me but also extremely unprofessional to other people who were waiting as well. Overall a very disappointing experience, I wont be going back.

THIS IS FOR THE MARKHAM LOCATION- I have always been a big fan of this resturant and very satisfied everytime when i visit the Lawrence location....Since they opened a new location in Markham, it makes sense to go visit while its also much closer to my home. God am i disappointed....all the cooked main dishes have terrible presentation and the quality of the seafood are not fresh at all. I have always love the mixed grill but this time....it's just so horrible....first of all....the food are just stacked randomly together with cooked kale and some chinese vegetables on both sides...when i actually eat the seafood..you can tell that they are not the nearly the same quality as the ones i had at the main location. All the main dishes that we ordered that night were of the same bad quality....sorry i'm not very good at describing food....but i won't be coming back ever.....!! DO NOT go to MARKHAM location if you are looking for fresh seafood!!!

Pretty good selection & was satisfied with the level of freshness of seafood. But one of their employee (who cleans up/cuts the fish) was racist, and no one in the store did anything about it even though there were many people working alongside him. I spoke clearly about how I want them to divide up my salmon, but for some reason he had a trouble understanding my request. Instead of asking me again to clarify my order, he suddenly tried to find a Chinese employee working there. I told him I'm not Chinese -nor do I speak Chinese- so it won't be necessary, and I called him out that this is very insulting. Instead of apologizing, he said "you all look the same" and pushed away my order to someone else standing next to him. I wish they can train their employees in a more professional manner.

I am a true seafood lover, I know that seafood taste great if they are fresh, which was true for Diana. However, I would consider it is over price. Other restaurant compensate the higher price with presentation of food, atmosphere, and view. But Diana has none of these. Therefore, my recommendation is, if you do know how to cook, go to their seafood market, buy the seafood and cook them at home. If you don't cook, give it a try, then next time buy it from their seafood market and try cook at home.

Oh Simone... This is a fish store not a place where you go to be served a certain way. This is the best fish store in Toronto. I don't care how the staff "act". I'm not going to a theater, I'm going to buy fish and seafood. Grow up and learn how to not be offended by every little thing.
