HIDDEN GEM ALERT. This inauspicious fish mart tucked away in the bottom right hand corner of Lonsdale market has some of the best cooked seafood I have ever tasted. Located beside the resident flower shop, this Salmon store not only serves fresh seafood but also cooks it for you in a variety of ways for an affordable price! The staff was hard working, polite, courteous, and did a wonderful job cooking my mussels. He was the only one working on Labour Day with a line full of customers, so big shout outs to him. The mussels were the freshest and cleanest tasting mussels I've ever had; no sand or grit or funkiness to them whatsoever. They were meaty and covered I'm garlic powder and olive oil. Simple yet perfect. Would absolutely recommend giving this place a try over some of the other spots in Lonsdale!

I was able to find fish that I couldn’t find in several other places, like filleted herring. They also carry non conventional pieces like salmon belly cuts and heads for soup. The owner really appreciates customers who are interested in fish and who eat all the parts and bits.

Really good seafood. Bought some tuna for making poke bowls and it was fantastic. Staff is very helpful.

Really tasty steamed mussels and baked oysters. More indoor seating would nice. But nice and warm treat during the cooler seasons :)

We tried spring king salmon, coho salmon, scallop (all grilled or seared) as well as herring. We could not find most of the items we chose to order at Salmon Shop. Everything was fresh and yummy. Though I'm usually not a salad person, I also enjoyed the fresh salad greens mix he served. So happy to have been able to try good, uber fresh wild caught fish from the BC/ Alaska area. Very sincere boss. He introduced the local fishes and their characteristics very carefully. The fish cooked on site was delicious, and the Sarah was also very fresh and delicious. Thank you so much!
