The best fish & chips I tried so far! The pastry is really thin, and the portion for four persons with 2 pounds of fish, fries, salad, and 2l ice tea was huge and costs only $40. Four adults weren't able to finish it :) I highly recommend this place and I will definitely return there.

If you expect tartar sauce with your fish and chips this is not the place for you. They charge extra for tartar sauce and don't you tell there won't be any with your takeout. Fries are a sad attempt and fish is quite greasy.

One of the best seafood restaurants I have been to. I have been going for about three years every summer and I have yet to have anything but quick polite and attentive service. The food outside of being delicious, is affordable for an all you can eat platter. They do have some odd pricing as 2 prices of cod is more expensive then all you can eat but as long as your paying attention you will get your money's worth.

Had their AYCE fish and chips for 15$. They use Pollock for their ayce. Their fish were nicely battered and crispy. Their chips were okay. Their tartar sauce was subpar as the taste and texture was closer to ranch dressing.

99% come here for the "all-you-can-eat" fish and chips. It's not the precut triangle portions either, but good battered whatever your favourite fish is. I had 4 good portions of fish on the first plate with reasonable quality chips and was done. It's popular, and they serve some alcohol. The patrons well they are generally 55+ and they are usually very overweight. This isn't saying the place is bad or unhealthy, but it certainly attracts such ones.

The girl at the take-out window was very nice. Fried chicken strips were good. Fried cod was super greasy. Fries were tough and greasy. Caesar salad was soggy with way too much dressing. Try somewhere else if you're stuck in Horseshoe Bay.

Sept/21. Have to drop the rating. After waiting for 5 mins outside to enter (Covid-19 protocols) which wasn't a problem, we were seated near the door now used as an exit. Not a very good location as customers would stand unmasked very close to our table. I ordered a beer and haddock and chips without coleslaw. The server came back and said they were changing the keg, a few minutes later she returned and said, they didn't have the type I ordered. The fish and chips came shortly after with coleslaw. She took it back and returned and said they replaced the order. I pointed out they didn't, they had left some coleslaw on the plate when they scraped it off (I don't like chips soaked in coleslaw). I like this C-Lovers but this was a disappointing experience.

First time visitors to C-lovers & we were very impressed. We shared the Ultimate Haddock Platter with 6 halibut fingers, 6 prawns, 6 onion rings, French fries & coleslaw. One of the best coleslaws we ever ate! The fish batter was light & not at all greasy. Our server was very friendly & competent. Highly recommend.

Ordered two orders of halibut and chips for pick up ( because of no inside dining). My husband picked it up had to pay extra for tarter sauce because we weren't dining in. Paid for it bill came to almost 30 dollars. Didn't think anything about amount but disappointed about extra for tarter sauce. He gets home 30 mins down Westside road. We open up pkg and there is only ONE ORDER of fish and chips. I called C LOVERS. they said I had only ordered one ( completely untrue). Then I said you are charging almost 30 dollars for two pieces of Halibut and chips ? His response was yes and I asked why we had to pay for tarter as an extra. He responded that if you eat inside the restaurant it is free if you do take out you have to pay for it. I said well we are unable to eat inside your restaurant right now and we are trying to support local restaurants during this hard time and we chose yours for tonight's dinner but we will NEVER AGAIN eat there regardless of take out or when we can inside again. We eat at cLovers at the coast when visiting friends but I will not be using them in Vernon again.

Just ordered halibut n chips while coming in on the Ferry for pickup.. these folks are awesome.. Probably the worst takeout fish and chips I've ever had. Portion size was nice, but everything was SUPER greasy, and was not given any lemon wedges, tarter sauce, or vinegar with my togo order. Clean your fryers... what I tried was nasty, working in kitchens for 15+ years I know what old fryer oil tastes like... really not sure how you have such a high rating.... been a while since I've thrown food in the garbage...horrible.

Summer, shorts and a Tshirt time. I walked in as Im a regular. Several employees stopped me and said I needed a mask, which I didn't have one, I have an exception, and said so. After saying it at least 3 times, to 3 different employees, they told me to leave, not offering me any mask, or offering to make my take out and bring it out. Will I go back, NOPE! I go where Im treated best. In our business, we offer masks to those without exemption if they wish. Kicking someone out, because they can drop the bar of service, tells me they just don't care, like the former owners. I can't imagine this kind of mentality of doing business in these times that they will last long!

10/10 would recommend this amazing fish and chip chain restaurant. The selection of different fried fish is delectable, and so are each of their unique flavors. My personal favorite is the 1pc fried Salmon and chips. It's the perfect quantity and the quality of meat is excellent. Oh and did I mention they are fresh cut french fries. Everything about this place is excellent including the simple menu.

I can actually say that i was quite pleased with my visit tot his place.. i usually have photos unfortunately.. i forgot! ????‍♀️ ill start with the ambiance.. it was ok.. possibly a reno, sort of outdated for tables and chairs.. overall it felt like a family type of place.. i really also want to focus on the smell of the place.. yes i know.. they sell fish & chips, ofcourse it was going to smell fishy.. but it didnt just smell like fish.. as soon as you walk in.. you can smell, the oil, fish, and vinegar all together.. it almost smelled like a washroom for the 1st 3 mins.. after that, you just get immuned to it! ???? the service was perfect.. no complaints at all.. it was fast, the servers were very attentive and was always ready if we needed anything.. food was good.. no complaints as well.. it was great! ???? the price was also great for all you can eat plus bottomless drinks.. $15, you cant beat that! Last, was the cashier, it was a little bit slow because of the separate bills aNd something was going on with the system, per the cashier, but i really felt that she was having a hard time with the orders and separating it.. it took her a while to finish our payments.. ????‍♀️ Overall, ill come back to this place/chain if i have another craving for fish and chips.. ????????????

Good quality fish and chips, fast service too. This place is always busy! They were take out only for a while during covid but have reopened half their seats now for dine in. Much much busier now than before during covid. Fish options are good although portions not exceptionally large. Two piece fish is best option for a meal, one piece seems smallish. Chips are good when hot but not very salty, would prefer salt added after coming out of fryer but they always give you condiments at check out. Malted vinegar is the best. Chicken.for kids was nice, real chicken with light tempura style batter. Onion rings were favorite for the wife, also very good batter on them. Might try dine in next time, if not too busy. Most tables looked full.

I am not a fish fan but I enjoy a battered up piece of cod smuthered in some tar tar sauce. Most people are aware that when it comes to fish and chips the grease is generally a part of the meal that can make or break the experience. I am always satisfied with this franchise and their ability to extract the oil from their delicious product. This C-Lovers is right on task for providing a quality battered piece of fish and no litre of oil ready to clog your arteries. Great service and fast delivery of this all you can eat meal. I love the endless fish, fries and pop that make this place a great value. And, I love this place because it tasted like the healthiest thing I consumed all week. Bravo to this place for a continued confidence in their ability to provide an amazing product and an overall wonderful dining experience. YUMMY times 10!!!!

I have been here several times as I live very close. The food and chefs are great. The staff, not so much. We got a warning because I didn't want soft drink that comes with all you can eat so I gave to my brother when we're spending $70 meal and warned us he (Asian owner) will charge us $2 next time. This is one of the best, if not the best fish and chips places out there, let me tell you why, you know that feeling when you eat something that's absolutely dripping with grease and just oozing fat out of every pore and when you eat it you feel like your body has become that very same thing? That's what their oyster burger did to me. I could feel the delicious juices and globules of oyster sliding down my esophagus and ploping into my stomach. I could feel my gut weighed down by the immense amount of fat I had just consumed, I was saturated with it. I had, quite literally become the fat. They had to call in a team to come clean up the beach because I had turned into an oil spill and was destroying the environment. You know that starfish waiting disease? That was one of the side effects of me eating here, they were just dissolving into the water because of all the grease I had metamorphized into after eating here. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, my only complaint is that i didn't make my ferry because I was pure fat.

The food was great but the customer service left a lot to be desired. Our server was a tall girl with long dark hair in a pony tail. Despite the place being empty she was very impatient and came to our table multiple times within a ahort period of time to ask us if we were ready to order. When she took our order she was rude and got upset as we were deciding and asking her what she would recommend. After we finished our meal and paid (despite the poor service we still gave her 15% tip), I went to the washroom. On my way out I overheard her complaining to a colleague while she was clearing our table because some of the people in our group ordered water with our meals and thought we should go **** ourselves. I give the food 4 stars. But the service was terrible. The manager should consider having friendlier staff.

No idea of the food quality, the service was horrible. We were looking for something quick after getting in off a water taxi. it was 7:00pm or so on a Sunday. I would not describe the place as busy, hopefully average. ( less than 1/2 full, 90% of the guests seemed to have their food already. ) We came in and were seated ( a bit slowly, but not more than a 5 minute wait to be seated. ) but they didn't even bring us menus before they were off again. A customer was attempting to get the waitress' attention in order to cancel their remaining order, and we apparently should've taken that as a sign. We waited at least about 5 minutes in hopes of menus ( or any attention really, we knew what we wanted to order by looking online beforehand ) when some other guests were brought in, and given menus right away. Waited another 5, after the waitress came and took the other couple's order without even acknowledging us we got up and left.

We had an unfortunate experience at C-Lovers in South Surrey on King George Blvd on Monday June 28, 2021. We have dined in and taken out on several occasions previously and been very happy with the value, product quality and customer service. On June 28 it was my son`s birthday so we planned a family lunch. as my youngest daughter has a newborn we decided to take out. I ordered it for 1 pm. We arrived at about 12:56 pm and entered and paid for it. The server asked us to wait outside to comply with their pandemic rules. Inasmuch as it was 37C outside we decided to wait by the door inside as it was air conditioned. A moment later we noticed the cook manager speaking to a server who came over to us and asked us to wait outside. We replied that we had decided to wait inside due to the heat. The other side of the restaurant had customers seated in adjacent tables separated by plexiglass and there was a plexiglass barrier between us and them . We were at least 12 metres from the nearest customers and at least 6 metres away from the service area so we were exceptionally socially distanced from everyone, we were both masked and both my wife and I have been fully vaccinated for over 2 weeks. The server came back after she had talked to the manager who had told her that rules insisted that we wait outside. We thought it ironic that his rules permitted indoor diners to be within one metre of each other unmasked while he insisted that we, masked, vaccinated and socially distanced needed to be outside. We complied but we were upset. There were several hundred extra sudden deaths in the lower mainland due to overheating. Many of them were seniors, which my wife and I are. The premier caught some flack a day later for saying people should be intelligent enough not to step out into the heat. I have run my own business for more than 4 decades and have experienced that good customer service and common sense trump arbitrary rules that in this case made no sense whatsoever. 3 days later the next phase of pandemic restrictions have been met. Bottom line is we won`t return, although our previous experiences had been good. I would have cancelled and left but I had family waiting at home for lunch.

A fairly typical C-Lovers fish and chip shop on the outside, the staff make this location special. Fair prices, pretty good food, great staff, and a vistaful location make for a restaurant well worth a visit on a sunny day.

The service was also very good even though they were busy. We used to go to East Beach for fish & chips but have found the food disappointing lately. Now we'll go just "up the hill" from home to C-Lovers.

We are regular C Lovers customers at Langley and Coquitlam. So we thought we would try the new location in Surrey. The restaurant was a lot smaller than the other two. It was extremely clean and the staff was friendly. However, when you order all you can eat, the waitress usually approaches you before you are finished to see if you want more. Here they didn’t do that. Not with us or the other customers who ordered all you can eat. She waited til we had been finished for a good five minutes and then came and asked if we wanted more... we did and waited another 5-8 minutes to get it. By this time our chips were cold. We were not impressed with this. The food was good and we try it again!

I won't lie ???? I went there for the all-you-can-eat fish and chips for $15. I went there on a Wednesday noon and the place was busy. I wanted a booth but the were all taken so we sat in a tiny table with two chairs. I ordered a soda (unlimited with the all-you-can-eat). My friend ordered a ???? ( $3 more on top of the all-you-can-eat charge). Okanagan Spring is what is in the beer deal. The server told me what ???? they cook but it was not something I was familiar with. So, we got five medium size pieces of ???? over a plate full of ????. The fish was very hot. I burnt my mouth with the first couple of pieces. The other pieces I had to break them apart pour some tartar sauce and wait a minute. The batter was bland as the tartar sauce. The ???? was moist and soft. The ???? were yellow rather than golden and mushy rather than crispy. To condiment your ???? there were two types of vinaiger, salt and pepper. There was ketchup for the fries as well. We finished our plates and the waitress asked if we wanted more ???? or ????? She said that we could get up to 5 pieces at the time. We asked for 5 more pieces of ???? but no fries. We also had 4 battered ???? for $2 (regular $3.50). They were ok. The waitress was friendly. The place and the bathroom clean.

This restaurant easily earned it's five stars. Upon arrival, we were asked to prove our Vax status. Well done. We were given a choice of a table or booth. Our server was on us almost as soon as we were seated. We were given menus and our drink order was taken. Our drinks arrived and we were ready to order. The food arrived fairly quick even though it was pretty busy. It came as ordered and hot. The fries were crispy and tasty. Our fish was as expected. The servings were not huge but were a good size. The batter was thin as advertised. Fish was well cooked and tasty. The good sized serving of coleslaw was very good. We incured only one very small hiccup. I like mayonnaise with my fries (I know, it’s a thing I acquired in Texas. Try it, you will like it!) thus order a side. When it arrived it came in packets not in a bowl. Apparently, there is not a lot of call for Mayo so they do not have it in bulk. Whoda thunk!! Anyway, they delivered exactly what they promised with a smile. We will return.

Went to C-lovers for fish and chips, 4 hours later myself and family members became very sick. The only thing worse then puking for 2 hours was the fact that when I called the manager directly the next day to make him aware of the situation he told me to call Interior Health or go to the hospital! I clarified with him that I was feeling better but there was possibly a situation in his kitchen to which I got a "ok, thanks for the call" No apology or any indication he was going to do anything about it. Hope nobody else suffers the same.

I love C-lovers, it's super cheap, and very tasty. Only $15 for all you can eat fish n chips. It's simple food at a good price, nothing fancy but it tastes great. That all you can eat also includes bottomless drinks. I wouldn't go in expecting the best fish and chips you have ever tasted but as far as value goes you can't beat it. They also have a special for $17 that is all you can eat fish and chips with a pint of beer. I've attached a bunch of photos of my meal and some of the specials, I'd recommend C-lovers for sure!

That's a big deal when it comes to seafood and cole slaw. The halibut arrived piping hot with just made fries. Tammy's service is spot on, seated quickly and very attentive. My ferry was running behind so i went to grab a bite. C'lovers got my attention cuz it says 'best fish and chips in town" so I thought I gave it a try. Didn't feel like chips so I ordered fish and soup to go. Got my ordered after 5 mins. I left the resto to catch my ferry. Arrived at the waiting area and settle so I can try my fish n chips. Only to find out there's no tartar sauce ???? How can you eat fish n chips without the sauce?? Called the resto up spoke to the lady that gave me the order to let her knows to be more careful with Togo order next time. Don't know how good it is but now my piece of fish n chip is going to waste. So disappointed!!

The fries are hands down top 3 worst I’ve ever had in the world. If soil was on the menu, you’d feel better. They taste as if they were frozen during the dinosaur age and were defrosted during the Trudeau (senior) era, and microwaved in 2021. I wanted to return the food but we were in a rush and ordered to eat on the ferry. The ferry has just left the dock but it is so bad I am still contemplating jumping ship, swimming to shore just to let the staff know not to feed this abomination to future humans. The salmon burger was alright though, so that in itself is 3/5 but these fries make me want to rip my stomach lining out.

This is my favorite go to for AYCE fish and chips. The first AYCE platter is enough for most people. Although they use pollock, it is seasoned well and quite tasty. The chips are crispy on the outside soft on the inside. A really good deal.

I came in order to have a quick bite (1 fish and chips). The store was pretty much empty (only 2 tables finishing their food). The waitress took my order, and a few minutes later, some new customers arrived (around 3 tables and 1 take away). I got really disappointed when I saw that the take away order was made before mine, leaving me without time to enjoy my meal or even request to put it 'as a to-go-meal'. I left the store without the chance of eating, due to the delay of my order. (Eventhough I was the 1st customer ordering, and the last being served) I'm really disappointed. I came here because my Google Maps recommended me to visit this place - well, I do not like to provide 1* reviews without tasting their food, so I am giving you 5* in order to let you know that I am "happily disappointed". I hope that someone read my review and learn how to prioritize Customers orders in a fare manner. Example, by first come first served. Overall, the waitress was super friendly.

Its a fine establishment and run by good people but the fish and chips are mediocre at best. Soggy and bland. They have the necessary components for good food but they need to figure out how to make crispier fries, tastier batter, and everything needs about 3 times the salt. Also, you get far too many fries, and then feel an obligation to finish them - which you almost certainly won't be able to do. So you will leave feeling overly full, and still throwing away a third of your fries. Besides that, the place is great, its a HSB staple and I love the paper wrap that they do for takeout.

Had the all you can eat, quality was good. Fish was not fishy so it was rather fresh for what it was and it was also battered, fried and served fresh. Everything was hot and crispy (except the pepsi????) for what I experienced that day I'd give it a 4/5. Wasn't exactly blow your mind but it was the best I've had in Vernon and you can't beat the price (14 or 15.99 I think). My server checked up multiple times to ask if I'd like refills on anything so no problem with that and she wad very polite and friendly. All and all you won't be disappointed.

I'm not a big fan of battered fried fish. But this place hit it out of the park for me!! Work in horseshoe bay and go to this places very week. The menu have lots to choose from. 90% of the time I get the halibut. I took my family that visited from Toronto. We had the special for like $41 with taxes ( don't quote me). Let me tell you, it was 3 of us and we couldn't of finish it. We had it for lunch, 3 people, and and leftovers for dinner, fed 4 people. Great value.

Tried the all-you-can-eat Fish and Chips as well as the one-piece Cod fish and chips. The all-you-can-eat Fish and Chips is made with Pollack which is okay although (at least for me) not as high quality a fish as cod or halibut etc. The batter was yummy and not too dense. The all-you-can-eat fish and chips featured smaller sized pieces as opposed to the cod fish and chips. (Although yes, you could order more of the former without paying more) The all-you-can-eat Fish and Chips didn't come with coleslaw, sadly. The drink that they came with was also not shareable (assuming because it was also refillable for free). The one-piece Cod fish and chips were excellent. The coleslaw was very good! The chips in both dishes were fine. We also tried the deep-fried pickles and they were good. Service was very attentive and friendly! Full table service, except you do have to pay at the cashier's desk. Location is also very family and child friendly. Good amount of free parking outside. All-in-all, a good place for some reasonably priced fish and chips.

From the US and really wish we could get back up here. Just had Fish and Chips at our local place by Fort Casey and they replaced the beer batter with Panko. It was one of the most tasteless loveless fish dishes we've had in years and it made me miss you guys even more. We love to hit up this place before getting on the Ferry to go to Vancouver Island, we have always finished our dishes completely. If you are in the area and you want some good food hit them up. The batter was just right, the fish was perfect, and we ate all the fries which is a good sing since one of us is not a fry person and the other is.

Pretty good fish 'n chips. But I was surprised the other day to see not one staff member wearing a mask or gloves, including the cooks and the person at the window taking your order. My family and I have always enjoyed going to C-Lovers Fish & Chips for all your can eat fish and chips with bottomless pop. Service is fast and the servers are attentive and friendly. Their fish pieces are small but it's good portions for all you can eat. The parking lot does get busy especially when the businesses nearby are open.

I heard so many good things about C Lovers . I was excited to try it. I did do the take out menu. The fish is very small for the price . It is sad that during our visit, we (people of color) experienced different treatment than others (non-people of color)... everyone else was pleasantly greeted and talked to in a friendly manner. We, on the other hand, got the dry, monotone treatment. Outside of that, the quality was terrible.... PLUS we found bugs (that had clearly been sitting for a while) in our condiments and asked for some sort of comp to our food. This didn’t happen. We didn’t even receive an apology!!

We usually go there twice a month. Love the staff, service and food. Find the size of the fish is getting smaller and smaller. This is not when ordering the all you can eat but the individual orders. Got take out last night. There was not one French fry that was over two inches. All ends and hard crispy small pieces...no potato. Keep going there to help them while the places are struggling to get people back in but for the price compared to the quality I think they are looking for problems in the future.......

It is truly hard to express how painful it can be to order take out fish and chips from here. My wife has a bad habit of going here, but not as much as her mother. You see the problem is that you order your food and it is cooked piping hot right there. Then they wrap it in newsprint to help keep it from getting too soggy. They also include this huge amount of fresh and delicious fries. We are talking dangerous levels, so when you get home this meal that you thought would be a good size turns out to be a monstrous challenge that you are forced to overcome. It is really a battle of will to finish this delicious beast of a meal.

Didn’t know I couldn’t sit inside if I ordered food from the window. Was pointedly told by a server that it was against store policy because there was differential pricing between takeout and eat-in. I was mid meal by then. Had already tipped when I ordered at the window, thinking that I could have a quick bite in the warmth, and that the servers should be given gratuity for cleaning up after me. Didn’t know about their pricing differences or internal costing structures. No visible signage about said policy. The restaurant was empty. It was 2 degrees outside. No patio furniture. Packed up my half eaten food by myself and left. Really didn’t need to be reprimanded like that. Maybe someone should’ve informed me of this in-store policy when I walked in, not halfway through my meal? Humiliating.

Their batter is light, crispy and flavourful; it is dairy free so it is not thick and heavy. Generally the fish is cooked well, but on some visits I've found it to be slightly drier. The chips are the closest I've found to fish & chip shop chips in England, as they pick up some of that battered fish flavour from the oil. The add-on prawns are wonderful. Sweet and juicy, and a great addition. Service is pleasant.

And tarter sauce doest come standard. A little disappointing since I'm paying $22, for cod no less. Go to Moby Dicks and wait in line for a superior fish and chips experience. If the wait is too long, this place makes a fantastic alternative.

The food was great as usual, except some of the people that were working there weren't as nice except for this one girl, the waiter that we had was kind of pushy and she asked us if we were ready and my friend said he wasn't so she went away she came back after 1 minute and asked if we were ready and then my friend told her we need a minute, another thing is some of the people working there didn't really look like they were happy working there and it kind of seemed that they didn't really care about much, we were waiting for our bill for a while until we realized we had to go up but nobody told us we had to go up and pay.

Had the all you can eat fish & chips . It was the worst I have had in my 81 years of life. The fish was about 1/4” thick & 4” long and over cooked . I hope the franchise company reads this report and checks on it. It’s bad for the other franchises!

This is probably the best fish and chips in Horseshoe Bay. The fish quality is really good (nice and fresh tasting) and the batter feels lighter than others we’ve tried. They give you a ton of fries (maybe a little too much) but for fry lovers that is a definite bonus. It’s on the pricier side but understandable with the quality. The staff Member taking our order was very friendly. We’ve only gotten take out here and they were great at wrapping everything together and included a good amount of malt vinegar packages, ketchup and tar tar sauce. (Their homemade tar tar sauce is very good!) Would recommend this fish and chips spot if you’re in Horseshoe Bay!

You have to get up real close to the plastic divider up front counter in Order to read the small menu stuck to the plastic. My first time going and will be my last! Poor menu or lack of menu signage. Haddock ok, Cod ok, halibut ok. I was going to order Pollock didn’t see it on the menu but they do have it. I was unfamiliar with the menu and the establishment. I asked for Pollock the guy (assuming this Brandon character mentioned in other reviews) was rude; not only audibly to my face but also his body language. He made head gestures and rolled his eyes at me/to other staff. I called the guy out on his attitude perhaps a bit brash but was already uncomfortable being there. I settled for 2 pieces of cod nothing else. I walked away from counter to the exit/waiting area. Transaction simmered down but this “owner” guy came flying out from back b/c the guy i called out had cried foul to him. This guy was off hinged. Escalated the situation and poorly handled what went down. Didn’t care & assumed it was all on me. He was not just aggressive physically but vulgar/vial hot head. His staff saw the guy treat me like I didn’t know what i was talking about. Keep in mind i had spent 8 years in the commercial fishing industry. I simply wanted clarification on the small hard to read menu! He left from behind the counter towards me yelling, swearing, at this point yes i was not at my best behaviour, but not without provocation. He then went breaking personal space & covid protocol! Got in my face, He appeared to wanna fight me! He (mentioned other incidents) lumped me in with all these other people he’s had to deal with. I said your guy was rude & disrespectful and this owner guy took it to a hole new level. Didn’t even ask what happened or ask other staff what they saw. I said I’ve paid for my food just hand it to me and let me leave. I am sure it all could have & should have been handled differently.

Her name is Jean, she is friendly, quick, very efficient, best old fashioned Customer Service. I thought that this type of Customer Service died back in the 80's & 90's, but NO some real genuine good Customer Service is still present, just have to be at the right place & the right time. The absolute worst service at this location! I have been a loyal customer to the Coquitlam store for over 35 years. The wife and I were in town and had to eat at the place that we knew had the best fish and chips. We arrived at 530pm. We were given menus. The guy beside had asked for his bill at this time. We waited another 20 minutes and not a single person came to take our drink order. The server (a young blonde) had her back to everyone and was chatting the kitchen staff up. We left and they guy was still waiting for his bill! I really hope Mason and Company see this. This is nothing like the Coquitlam restaurant where service is prompt. Also, before any staff pipe up to this review saying they had 2 servers working, sure, but the inside was empty of customers. Shame on you. I've seen 1 staff in Coq and NVan run the whole show by themselves.

For a place focusing on fish and chips you'd expect they'd have passable items on the menu. The fish and chips dish was soggy and fish overdone. The seafood chowder had what seemed to be a runny chicken base. Regardless of being super hungry I ate half a piece of fish, some fries, and no more of the chowder past the first both confusing and revolting spoonful. The server didn't seem surprised to hear of the above yet was eager to take full price for food that should've been dropped in the garbage rather than to customers.

Lots of decent fried food; mainly fish and the batter is light, not an overwhelmingly thick layer. But if you are looking for non-fried veggies, your only options are the mushy peas and coleslaw. The pickles, mushrooms, zucchini sticks are deep fried here, as well as the hot dog! They may forget your sauces when you do take out though

While I usually enjoy C-Lovers fish and chips, this particular franchise in White Rock really sucks. I usually go to the one in Langley and always have a lovely experience and the food is amazing. But here in White Rock the fish is lacking. They give you a tiny little bite-size fish pieces about two forks per piece and since it's covered in batter you get very little fish flavor from it. Serving fish smaller than a regular chicken finger is pathetic. I had to ask 4 times for more lemon because they were sliced so thin I barely got any out of each slice. I told them right from the start I wanted lots of lemon, they gave me three pathetic pieces to start with. I don't like tartar sauce or ketchup so there should be a trade-off there without having to ask 4 times throughout my meal for more. I also ordered the shrimp and onion rings as a side. The Rings were small and thin and the shrimp were also fairly small. Go to the place in Langley and you will find you get nice big shrimp and huge onion rings. Next time I will go the extra 15 minute drive to get to the one in Langley. The White Rock franchise will never get my business again. I also don't believe I should be looking for my waitress every 10 minutes for something.

Lucky for us this was the only dine in or takeout restaurant open past 830 pm in horseshoe bay by the ferries due to all the new covid-19 hours. The fish and chips were okay but unfortunately do not come with tartar sauce, unlike most other fish and chips and we only found thay out once back at our car on the ferry lineup. So make sure to ask for tartar.

This is the best C-Lovers in the chain, by far. I'm addicted to the Large Chicken-and-Chips, and this C-Lovers always does it perfectly... nice big juicy pieces perfectly cooked every time. Some other C-lovers cheap out putting ridiculously small pieces of chicken that end up being 90% batter and 10% chicken. This C-Lovers reverses that.

All you can eat fish n chips... Why not! The fish was quite fresh. The batter was well seasoned, and the oil was quite clean. Every piece was crisp, and not burnt. The fries were great, the drinks were unlimited as well. Tartar sauce was great and I really liked the coleslaw. My only complaint was the size of them fish, too small. Luckily, the batter wasn't so thick. Overall, an enjoyable experience...until you hit the 10th piece... Would have been the 5th, without the coleslaw. If you'd like volume and wouldn't get sick of deep fried food easily, great place to be. Otherwise, I'd rather pay a little more for something that has better quality. Overall, I found it enjoyable to just eat them fish n chips!

Worth a visit. 2017 WOW exceptional fish done to perfection. Oil is fresh and hot making the batter crispy and not greasy. Fish is flaky and tasty. Wife and I tried the all you can eat for $13.99. Chips /fries done just right crispy on the outside only, not the typical dry and tasteless. Fish stacked high on the plate. Comes with bottomless drink. The prawn madness is four prawns for $1.99. Our server was exceptional. Even though she was busy she was very attentive to make sure we were happy with everything about our meal. Worth the drive to Horseshoe Bay to give them a try.

Fantastic fish and chips! They use beef tallow here, which has long been known to make tastier fried food, and gratifying to note that days is thought to be more or less equal health - wise to its flavour inferior counterpart. This place was a hidden jem for us! It's tucked away on a side road off the highway in Vernon. I've passed it a hundred times never went in until just recently. The place was busy ( which is a good sign to me ) . We sat down in a nice clean booth. We ordered food and drink. The beer was fresh and cold and the food was delicious. We ate until we were full and despite the fact that it was deep fried it was surprisingly light. awesome tartar sauce which is a must ! If you live fish and chips, this is your go to place! The Filipino hostess treat us like a dog saying once we are seated we are bound to be seated there. We wanted to change our seat within a minute of allotted seat as we recognized we are on the hallway where people keep passing by and we don’t feel safe due to COVID. 0 customer service and totally not recommended place to go.

My family and I went to C-lovers today hoping to have a nice dinner; however we ended up having a terrible time. The owner/manager (Brandon) was incompetent, rude, and unprofessional. He told us we didn't know what we were talking about when we described our unpleasant interaction with the server during our time there. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

It was finally great to sit in a restaurant to dine after such a long time... and I would have thought (and assumed) that the restaurant,, chefs and staff would bring their A game... Oops wrong. This was the restaurant (the name/type - not the location per sae) that my son choose as we we out to celebrate his and his son's birthday. I dropped him them.off at the door while I ran to Safeway to grab their cake and he did the ordering. Needless to say, they got it wrong and more specially- my order. I just wanted a large Caesar and a piece of cod. Cod arrived away, along with a tiny salad. When I pointed out their mistake, they made out that he didn't order correctly and then it was.. "what do you want me to do about it?" So instead of either taking it back and bringing the correct one or just bringing the large one I ordered, out came a slightly larger one... I guess the 2 together we supposed to add up to a large one??? SERIOUSLY?? I would have gone out of my way to make it right and keep the customer. What's a few bits of lettuce and some dressing gonna cost them? The pieces were so large I had difficulty putting it in my mouth/chewing them (admittedly my mouth is on the smaller side).. so I gave up and let the kids eat it. I had the 1 skinny piece of cod. My son had the all-you-can-eat meal - he pulled the batter of each piece so he could eat it - the grease just dripped off it. They apparently don't serve some cheap lemon pieces, unless you ask for those as well. If he hadn't ordered that type of eat we would have left as it took so long for.them to serve the order extra fish - we thought they were off catching it. In the future I am gonna take pics and post them... And the cost for this wonderful experience? Close to $100.00

This is always a popular place for a meal at the ferry terminal. The staff are very kind and helpful, the service is quick, the manager is a super nice hardworking person. They have a to-go counter and sit in service. I will honestly say I think it's better tasting than that other F&C chain (rhymes with knock-knee rings)

Not “the best fish & chips in town”. The service is horrible and the food was just as bad. It’s a stupidly confusing system between takeout and and dine in. Don’t even think about requesting to dine in if you change your mind about takeout. The waitress will just give you a dirty look and send you to the take out window. The take out window was just as confused as I was and sent me back to the waitress.

Ordered 2 people platter, $29 price, 6 very small shrims, 6 finger size Thin Halbut, with very thick batter. Infact what we got was mainly batter and chips. Almost no real food. Greassy thick batter was the food. Not an honest sea food restaurant when White Rock is a sea food city.

Terrible experience Tonight. I ordered food from the parking lot in order to limit our contact. For the first time ever, I was told (demanded) to come in and lay before they’d make the order. That means that in trying to limit our contact, I have to go into the restaurant twice. There are other good options for fish and chips in this area. I think I’ll use them.

It was really busy and we needed to wait a fair bit for a table, but I expected that on Good Friday. The staff were friendly and courteous and were doing their best for a quick turnaround to get everyone in the door. The fish & chips are beyond compare - lovely crispy batter without the heavy greasiness you often see. I didn't love the fried oysters, but that's just a personal taste thing. Highly recommended but I will consider take-out next time as everyone seems to crave fish & chips at the same time as me. ????

Customer service was really nice. The price was really nice. And unlimited drink was a really nice touch. But the fish was so oily. I had the all you can eat option but you really can’t eat more than one serving because of how oily and flavorless the fish was.

the service could have been a bit better. I had ordered a large Cesar salad and if I can recall they make their own dressing for it. it was good, but it could have been tossed more and they could have been easier on the dressing, also id love if they put more croutons in as I barley had any in my salad. decent prices on the food, it's an okay place. all in all service could be better. the waitress I had was awkward and quiet, food here is good though.

Energetic and nice service, Unfortunately the food is bland and unsalted. It's the first time my sister turned down French fries for their lack of flavor. I ate them minutes after ordering and they were limp... I'm sure getting them as takeout didn't help (moisture and all), but I've never experienced that at other places. I think I paid almost $30 for my food, so that was a shame. They're okay.. like I might go back for something small, but I wouldn't recommend. But they're very popular and received high praise from other visitors.

You’re looking at fish and chips and 3 piece chicken strips. The AUCE fish is pollock or haddock and it’s brilliant! The batter is firmly cooked, not burnt, not soggy. Full flavour. Plenty of fish choices on the menu and other seafoods. My daughter loved the REAL chicken in the strips. Battered rather than breaded was a great novelty. Chips are proper and amazing. This location is a must go. **Previous posters moaning about the chips obviously haven’t a clue and are probably used to and prefer flash frozen, highly salted, sugar coated fast-food fries.

I had the halibut burger, which was good, but not spectacular. My fries, which you have to purchase as a side dish, weren't hot and crispy. My son had cod and fries and enjoyed them.

My husband and I came here wanting to dine in for fish and chips. We waited a few minutes in the line and then were seated. As soon as we sat down, the host that seated us came back within seconds asking us to get up because he actually can’t give us that seat, but can give us the next one as it becomes available... we just got up and left.

C-Lovers is my favourite place for fish and chips. Besides the fact that they have all you can eat fish n chips for a very reasonable price (bottomless pop included), the staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient, the restaurant is always clean, and the fish and chips are of a very high quality and are delicious. What's not to love!?!?!?!? Also... order the coleslaw. You will not be disappointed!!!
