Here you will see the reviews of real people like you who purchased the services of Mike & Lori's No Frills (Fish Shop) in North Bay area (Canada).
As of day the firm gets a rating of 4.2 out of 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is positive, and it is based on a large number of opinions, so we may say that the valuation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Fish Shop is classified in the category of Grocery store.
The store is OK, there is always a man asking for money by the entrance. Kind of sketchy.
They were really good with Covid protocol. I really appreciate the cashiers. Especially for cleaning as much as they can on the tills.
Honestly, despite the good prices this store is VERY busy and i found alot of the customer didn't have respect for other people and there boundaries. There was a lady on the phone yelling at someone stood right in the middle of the entrance making getting inside impossible and she was stopping in the middle of all the isles to yell at people over the phone making it very frustrating to shop. But that wasn't the worst part, there was a man (not an employee) standing outside the store counting people as they went in while hacking down darts making the whole entrance smell like cigarettes and making me nervous about leaving my vehicle unattended. I think I'll keep to Sobeys or Freshco.
I have always been a No Frills shopper, but lately I find that they don't have many of the sale items listed in the flyer. Disappointing.
Good place reasonable prize and very vast variety. and some time they have very beautiful plants too.
I like it, it was just a bit unorganized due to Covid (Aka no arrows saying which way to go) but, the staff was great and helpful when needed
Store is always clean.Staff is pleasant and always's helpful
Friendly staff and management! Always ready to help...and I love that they support local food security organizations in North Bay!
Can’t go wrong with no Frills! They price match with other grocery stores. They do not however price match with Giant Tiger or pharmacy store ( such as shoppers drug mart). They’re produce is generally fresh and they often have great deals for meat!
Clean, large selection and kind staff
I shop at multiple grocery stores in North Bay, but this No Frills is one of the best. As a person who shops on a limited budget, I love their discounted produce section. Usually some good deals to be found throughout the store, and they have a decent international section for a discount grocer. Definitely much better than the one on Lakeshore Drive.
I give this store five stars because nefertiti and I are treated with respect and dignity whenever we go there to shop for food and veggies etc.The staff is very knowledgeable about service dog in their store and ensure safety and comfort for everyone. Beautiful staff Great place to shop and Nefertiti brings out the best in store staff
Mike & Lori are amazing and very supportive to local charities. Thank you for supporting Girl Guides during their GGC cookie campaigns.
Every time I've been to Mike & Lori's No Frills, it's been clean, there are actually people working in the aisles, and well stocked. Any time I'm in that part of town, I prefer to stop there than anywhere else.
Hate that you have to put a loonie in the cart to use it in the store. I never carry change with me. Ended up grabbing a basket and buying only a little on my list then going down to the NoFrills on Lakeshore, used my no frills cart coin and finished my shopping.
Some times run out of items that on sale
Great place to buy your groceries of all ethnicities....
Its nofrills what else is there to say. Awesome pricing and friendly staff
Has a very limited selection of low quality gluten free food, whitch they put in the organic wheat loaded isle..... thanks for that...! Fruit & Veggies are always fresh though. Friendly cashiers not so much the stockroom staff ,not knowledgable on the foods they sell. Please provide gluten free products celiacs need food too...
Kind of dirty feeling in there. Prices not great. They had a bunch of breakfast sausages in the fridge section weeks past best before date. Go to Sobeys, much better.
Spoiled meat no thank you I was almost sick to my stomach at the smell and I opened it 10 minutes after getting home with it
Didn't have much almond milk when I went not all staff wear their masks properly
Good prices, but could do with slightly better produce. I also understand that the area and demographic they serve its hard to keep the place clean but it would be nice to see the place cleaner
It has everything I needed to take care of my family. They add items that I requested.
Clean and well stocked. The last time that I had to use a 'coin' cart, it cost $0.25; it's now $1 (Loonie). I laughed because the quarter wouldn't work, until it was pointed out to me.. doh! ????
Im afraid of the meat. The veggies are ok a long with the fruit. Prices are alittle more expensivw then food basics. But good places to shop. I think they accomidate to the college students in the area with the prices.
This location always has a great selection of sale items
Great family grocery store. Well organized, and friendly staff. Easily located close to public transit stops too.
Loved it. I wish sudbury had a no frills. Cheaper prices. Great store.
Great Price's, great deals, one of the best places to shop now that PC Optimum works here in conjunction with Shoppers Drug Mart next door. ;)
This No Frills has a pretty good selection of foods, including some harder to find ingredients for a more adventurous chef. The aisles are sorted effectively, and the staff are usually pretty friendly. If you're here for a medicine though, just go across the street to the pharmacy, since this No Frills doesn't carry a lot of basic OTC medicines or medical supplies.
Value for money. Less expensive comparatively
Very friendly service at the cash.
A nice smaller store. For folks from USA reminds me a Aldi or IGA. Store was clean and pretty well stocked for a Monday at 10am. The produce was looking good for this time of day and week. Meat was being restocked when we shopped. The meat …
I wish the veggie selection had more, it's a lot of lettuce based plants. Needs sprouts and different green beans.
Excellent average discounted products & covid 19 social distancing/safety measures are taken very seriously. 9/10 would visit again, once every couple weeks.
Terrific store with helpful staff, especially Keith who, IMHO, ought to be promoted to CEO STAT! I also love the way everyone gets involved in helping out the homeless and foodbanks in The Bay. Great store and great giving O / O. Salut & Kudos T'All, especially Mike & Lori, said O / O.
I have shopped here many years. A good value store. Love Val, sweet lady
Always a decent experience. Sale items are almost always in stock, lots of store specials. Gets busy sometimes but not prohibitively so. Produce is always good but meat selection is not always guaranteed, especially chicken.
I just recently move to the area. I always went to nofrils in Ferris.. my first impression was it doesn’t have the most cleaness feel to it but I think it’s cause it’s crowded in there with stock and people, its so busy most of the time they really need to have all cashes open and running. Feel forced to buy bags as there are no box’s also find a lot of the things they had at the other nofrils they don’t have and vis versa but ather then that produce is great and so are the sales also they never have the the box of the PC Tasimo coffee anymore so half to go else were to get that. Witch is a pain.!overall cheap and way better then the other low end grocery store such as food basic and price choppers.. in North bay
I am treated well at their store .
This has to be the best No Frills I've been in. Usually they are disorganized and the produce is not worth buying so you can imsgihow surprised I was to see a store up to the caliber of an Independent or Sobeys store
Decent selection, produce quality is better then expected
Great affordable place to get all your grocery needs! 10/10 recommend
Location is practical, store is not the biggest in town but for the price and availability of product, its where I go. Rarelly have to wait in line at the cashier. Produce are fresh. The only down side is the parking lot, its busy and crowded
You can find almost anything from the store but they don't take visa. Has to be cash or mastercard, which makes me visit less. Ps:During covid they are taking visa. Which is great.
Very helpful staff. Great produce and meat selection, as well as grocery and bakery products. They also have self checkout. $1 for cart.
Overall this store is usually stocked up with many different deals and sales. I shop no frills lots . Have a great day!
Shop there everyday, good grocery store, clean. Carts taking loonies kinda sucks.
The produce is sometimes fresh but the staff is always nice!
My go to store, always have what i need great staff
This is a store I go to weekly. Always friendly staff, carts are cleaned and available. Always have my itrms on sale and in stock.
Very easy to get your hands on a variety of products, if somewhat hard to navigate the store through all the people
Great deals also hours of staying open are fair
Wonderful! Clean! Wonderful staff!
I love shopping here! I really love the layout, especially the fresh produce section. However, I don't feel like they offer the best deals on meats so my family and I almost never purchase our meats from here.
It was better than most No Frills. Decent vegetables, and decent selection of general groceries. And it was and felt clean
Always good service.
The only store in town that has Thomas's raisin cinnamon loaf which is in my opinion the best bread for making french toast. I was never a big fan of french toast, now i can't get enough. Once you try it, you will be hooked. They also have great deals every week in the flyer.
Friendly prices this time were not that bad cashiers were friendsly
Indian stuff is more found in this place than any where else in north bay
Due to a surgery I've had I can't lift heavy items - the staff has been absolutly wonderful in putting items in my cart and then unloading my cart and packing my groceries and assisting to my car if needed (I have a neighbour who takes it from there) No matter how busy the store and the staff are I have never encountered anyone being rude or crouchy about accomodating me
The No Frills in Sturgeon Falls always runs out of stuff so we go to this one. There are more products to chose from and the staff always helpful and friendly :)
Wow I feel bad because I had a review here that was meant for the other store and it was not a good one. This is the best No Frills in NB. Sadly because they took their boxes away that you could use to carry groceries they only get a 3 stars. That though is knock on the chain not the location. This is a well managed and well employed store my negative comments were meant for the Lakeshore location where it is the worst I have ever seen. I used to work at one and that is why the details stand out to me
Had what I needed employés are awesome
Great grocery deals.
Mike and Lori's is a good shopping experience. They have a decent selection of items, the place is clean and the staff are usually welcoming. I would rate them like other no frills around and say that they are pretty good.
They have Attitude and some staff aren't interested in helping you! Too busy talking on the cell phones!!
Friendly helpful employees. However due to the covid 19 shipping delays not everything in stock .
They are limiting people in the store but at the checkout its get them through as fast as possible and every lane is open with no respect for social distancing while packing your order
My go to grocery store... nice and clean ...like pulling teeth to get these young people to talk .. usually the stock boys are far more friendly...but some of the young cashiers people are friendly and can carry small chat ... customer service is Important ... covid has run pretty smooth ... although there is no need for the one cashier to wear her plastic gloves that she doesn't change....she is better of to use hand sanitizer between every few customers and then hand wash...gloves defeat the purpose as she is just spreading germs around from person to person.. her hands may be "somewhat" clean under the gloves but she is only spreading everything else around with her dirty gloves....between wiping the belt , handling all the food and money from one person to the next wearing the same dirty gloves ... she isn't protecting anyone...
Very clean store with lots of different varieties of products to chose from.
The new checkout lanes are too small for my larger load....had to use both mats and then the cashier felt like she had to rush me. The mats are half the size now.
This used to be my go to grocery store. Always had pretty much all the products I was looking for, and the prices were good. I know they don't get to set their own prices, but I felt they were affordable for what they were. The staff are …
Great No Frills with the exception that they - like everywhere else in thus town have annoyingly expensive salt pork/navy beef. Though they have all the other weird stuff i like and the chashiers dont look atme weirdly wjen i take 10 minutes to pack my reusable bags
Great prices, not to many Karen's shopping there so minimal drama, great staff service too.
This is a good place to shop with decent prices. However, I am concerned about a certain employee there by the name of Chris. This manager is extremely rude to his workers and to shoppers as well. I truly think that he has "little man syndrome". I watched him speak with one of his workers and he was so rude and condescending. This organization needs to be a little more careful about who they hire as "leaders" as they are helping our young generation learn what it is like it the work force.
None of the carts have the buckles to buckle your kid into the seat. This was an utter inconvenience as well as a huge safety hazard. The checkout ladies were very nice and helped me bag my groceries. But unless you install some proper buckles into the carts, this is not a family friendly place
Very clean organized store, short cash lines very efficient cashiers, and great deals.
I thought I would share a very embracing situation I just encountered with a Mike & Lori’s No Frill employee. I had 10 items in my cart, so I went to the express check out line. A teller with black hair and black-rimed glasses loudly informed me that I was over the limit of 8 items. Saying it loud enough so other costumers could here her. I looked at the 1 other customer and she was laughing at me. I was in shock and very embarrassed being confronted by this teller. She informed me that her job is to check out people with 8 items or under and she could ask me to move to another checkout counter. I told her that I was just a couple of items over the 8. (10 items), She did check me out after she confronted and embarrassing me. The last thing I expected when I went grocery shopping was to be confronted and embarrassed by a check out teller. Beware of this employee. No frill is a great store. I actively shop at all 3 No Frill stores in North bay and Sturgeon falls. I have always had great help and service from the employees. Until today.
I can find almost everything I need.If you need help to get things someone is usually around to help. The quality is satisfying. This store is usually busy .Especially when sales are on.And we gave an education town.So we have tons if Students shopping here as well.Overall shopping experience is good, friendly.
Fairly quiet right now with great prices and good selection of products
I always like shopping here and I have no problems. It's just not fun when you don't have the change for the cart, but I understand why they do it.
Mike & Lori's No Frills in North Bay is a great grocery store. Always clean, well stocked and a great place to do groceries.
I go out of my way to avoid the other no frills in North bay, even though the other one is substantially closer to where we live. Mike and Lori's is great, and if there is an issue,it's promptly addressed
Very Good No Frills. Cleaner than most. Standard Lowlaw's product at good prices. Fresh product is fair but good for soups and stews (you must wash and use it quickly or may likely go bad)
It's a great place to shop for all your basic needs.
Not always have stock as advertised. Don't and I mean don't buy the chest nuts from either No Frills. At any time! Christmas. 4 lbs all rotten. This week 3 lbs. Rotten. Every time all the time!
Very disappointed over the last few months with the lack of President Choice Products. The week of Jan 15/15 I shopped in the McKeown store. The selection of produce had been reduced such as type of apples, the shelves were not full, there was few or none President Choice products soups jams or meat - bacon as an example as I walked around the different isles it felt dingy more like a cut rate grocery store than old No frills. Most of the staff are part time who replaced the full time staff who have terminated for some reason retirement probably. The new staff although polite are unfortunately unfamiliar with product location. It was explained to me that there is new line of can goods and other products being introduce in the store which explains the emptiness of the shelves.President Choice products have always been of high quality and one of my main purchases. I will be shopping at Independent where PC products are available, I doubt that I will shop at No Frills again. Harv Mic
I find the staff at this location to be exceptional. I love that they care so much about making sure that the lanes are sanitized between every customer. There aren't enough stores doing that. I feel safe and comfortable shopping here. The produce selection is great in this store and comparable to the more 'premium' grocery stores. I'm not sure what that Kelly woman who reviewed below has been smoking, but I've never had a single bad experience. Maybe she's a bit of a 75W bulb in a 100W bulb world. I do agree though that the sanitizer sometimes has quite an odour, but I guess that's the same in a lot of places. Thank you for now accepting Visa! I now shop here so much more!
Low stock, shelves half empty and staff chases you around and harasses you close to closing time. Unpleasant experience, high anxiety and overall not a good place to shop. Staff overall unpleasant, however cashiers sometimes friendly.
This is a great place to shop! They carry most of my favorite foods, always fresh and reasonably priced. The self-checkout works very well for me. The employees are helpful and friendly. Thanks so much No Frills on McKeown for such a pleasant shopping experience! See you soon!
It was busy...go back to one line
Hand sanitizer is the worst smelling kind, but low prices and friendly staff. Parking lot is hazardous for the narrow lanes and the extra traffic from timmies.
The store and foods itself are good. It was our cashier. We were trying this store out .We had bought alot of groceries and my husband was bagging. The cashier watched him time after time struggling to reach stuff. Not once did she tell him about some button at the end of the counter that would bring the groceries down to him. Very disappointed in their customer service.????
Dont like the new self check out...taking jobs away from us ..but I do love the store and the prices r way better then walmart
Very busy but produce is always fresh
This store reminds me of the neighborhood grocery stores that were around many small towns where the staff knows you by name and are your neighbors and friends. I love this store and highly recommend it.
Don't shop here much but I have had no problems. Except they need a chance machine so u can get a cart.
Cleaner than the one at the other end of town.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are competitive. Can be busy at times and more cashiers are needed but nonetheless was a good experience
I love this place always find everything I need and the cashiers are lovely
Not busy and a great shopping experience. Although borax has been out of stock for a while along with mint flavored tums, I will continue to return. Pineapple seems to be in short supply everywhere, not sure why?
Mike & Lori seem like nice people they have an extensive collection of foodstuffs that I purchase at a bi-weekly to weekly basis. I appreciate the color scheme Mike & Lori went with so that if I ever decide to live on the moon I can find their perfectly adequate, standard price index of grocery items with no issues what so ever...Great apples!
It's a great place to shop. Very good sales each week and a lot of variation.
Typical no frills. Nothing fancy but great prices and produce and fruit is pretty decent. Love that they price match and if you choose to buy their bags instead of bringing your own, at least theirs don't tear before you get home. Cashiers are all very pleasant considering some of the customers they have to deal with.
Decent for a No Frills. Dairy section is difficult as it is in 2 seperate sections and an end of an aisle. Washrooms not labelled and had to ask staff where they were. Produce is good quality, which I appreciate.
This store is very clean and the people are very friendly. Prices are good
Very clean store have everything you need there
Very rude and unhelpful cashier..will avoid this place next time.
The store is clean, service is great, lots of items, no bare shelves, I give them 4 out of 5
My favorite grocery store in town BUT I wish they sold alcohol like the Lakeshore No Frills. Would give 5 stars otherwise.
Good selection of foods, friendly staff, nice and clean. Our favorite. Shhh.. Don't tell Sobeys.
Excellent prices good place 2 shop. Would recommend 2 every 1
Always good, fast checkouts fresh veggies very good meat section etc etc
I was offered a free loaf of bread today, and i didn't want it and they donated it to the foodbank! I love all of the food rescue that this store does. Thank you for all you do for our community! …
I thoroughly enjoy shopping here. HOWEVER The one biggest down fall is I'm often seeing people (my self inclued) struggle to manouver around the 3 rows of carts on the side walk. I've brought this to the owners attiention on more then one occasion and still see people having to bring their walkers, strollers, etc. on to the parking lot to get around the carts. If there were an emergency evacuation it would be an utter mess.
It's the one grocery store with reasonable prices. It has what you need. It's clean and well stocked. The only down side was when they stopped taking VISA. It can be a little annoying. Other then that it's a grocery store, what more can I say.
Always friendly and always can find what I'm looking for.
Shelves always empty or near empty lately. Have been shopping here for over 20 years just seems to be going downhill it's been getting worse for the last 5 years or so. ????
