WARNING DONT EAT HERE! I was going to drive across town to get my Fish n Chips from a familiar chain, but read the reviews here and decided to try this local store. Well, where do I start. How about like this; first and foremost this was simply the worst fish and chips I've ever eaten, and I do mean ever. The batter could not have been more greasy if they tried. I picked up 2 fish dinners. They were stacked in a single paper bag. The bottom dinner, the paper plate it was on, the paper it was wrapped with and even the bottom of the paper bag were so soaked with oil It glistened! YUK. The batter was slimy and doughy inside. The fish tasted bland and previously frozen, likely thrown in the oil still frozen. YUKKIER THE FRIES.... I MEAN REALLY! Tasteless and also likely previously frozen were equally horrid. Perhaps these folks need to decide what they are... A shawarma shoppe, A cabbab shop, Greek diner, or fish and chips. Concentrate on one thing then maybe get that one thing right. I'll leave the testing of meals from them to other poor unwitting victims lured by reviews obviously written by their friends family and employees, AND neighbours, like I Was. To top off the experience.... THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!! OHH!!! but they were friendly. Trouble is, I wasn't there to make friends. WARNING DONT EAT HERE!

Haddock serving was huge, tender and delicious. Batter was not too thick, which was good. Fries were frozen Cavendish (Costco food court style), which were good but I prefer fresh cut with fish and chips.

Wow .. We went last night to this place we couldnt believe it is the same since our last visit last year. New operation staff that are so friendly and the most important is the clean environment that everyone can notice, but the food itself i give 7 stars out if 5. Thank you guys and keep it right.

Ordered for takeout this evening and just got it back home to find they forgot the kids meal in our order, but we were charged for it. Also the coleslaw portion is tiny, and they also forgot the tartar sauce for one of our dinners. Just a big let down, not a good first impression. Edit- The fish batter is bland and very greasy, and the coleslaw is VERY acidic. Won’t be returning.

The best kepted secret in Thorold Delicious and generous portions. Best value fish and chips. Burgers and fries and more. We would order a 2 piece fish and chips, split the fries. We had more than enough for two. Best deal in town

I usually never review places I visit but this restaurant truly deserves a review. I just need to say.... THIS IS THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS TAKE-OUT I HAVE EVER TRIED. Hutches on the beach is a known place for good fish and chips as well but this place is just as good, if not, better!!! (And for a much better price) I absolutely loved the food. Will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend.

Great food. Always great service when I go in. Reasonably priced, especially for highschool kids. To anyone in highschool reading this go between 11 and 1. Theres a menu that has specials. I typically get a 2 peice chicken that come with fries. I get a pop and it's $5. The staff is always friendly and strikes up a conversation. Very family friendly.Love it. You can also phone in an order and pick it up.

Great fish!! Very unorganized when it comes to good friday... Many people waiting in line for 1 + hours.. then people decide to cut to the front that have only been waiting 5 minutes and go right in and grab fish, they ignore everyone telling them theres a line.. When thepeople at the front try to go in we just get yelled at... They were answering phone and telling them to just come right in.. even though there is people from a hour waiting and still haven’t got their food... Also to add to that Fish was hot but fries were cold.

Ive had shwarma poutine before and yours was missing the best part the garlic sauce also I couldn't even chew the piece of fish I received cause it was over cooked and the popcorn chicken tasted like it was in the freezer for a month.

A shame...we were expecting alot, based on other reviews. Fries were obviously from frozen...very plain...no salt or seasoning. Fish was soggy...not crispy at all. Coleslaw is exactly the same as the one at KFC...which I like.

The fish was all right. Not the greatest I've had. But I'm kind of biased being from Nova Scotia and used to eating fresh fish. The atmosphere of this place was a real downer. The owner sat in front of his laptop and stared at it all the while I was there. The girl who did the cooking was very timid, as if almost afraid to be working there.. 1st and last time I will ever visit

The fries were cold when we got our food to which we showed up 5 minutes early to our order pick up time. The fish and chips had ok batter but was way overcooked and dry. The chicken burger was nothing special either I would compare it to a high school cafeteria quality. They both came without drinks even though I paid for a combo for the chicken burger and it came out to around $35 I would not suggest this for anyone in the area and will not be returning to this restaurant. For $35 for two meals and an order of mozzarella sticks you should just go buy the frozen versions of these items from the grocery store it will be the same quality but provide a lot more meals for you and your family. Update: We ordered just under 2 weeks ago an was very dissatisfied we decided to let it pass as we understand that it is a though time for small business but then our friends had the exact same experience your restaurant is way over rated on google people should understand that the only thing you will get from this restaurant is the same frozen food that you could purchase at the grocery store. Also the owner rather then taking the review argues it which just make this post even more valid. if you are looking for good fresh local food I suggest you check out the Niagara restaurants facebook page which will give you a list of options that are actually worth $13-16 a plate that you are paying here. Also we ordered the chicken burger not the chicken fingers if you actually want to take the criticism.

We have just moved to Thorold and were excited to try this place, so we went there on Friday. Road construction notwithstanding, the place is easy to get to and has curbside parking out front. The shop is small, simple, and clean, which is what a F’n’C shop should be. The family that we assume are the owners were very welcoming and are taking COVID protocols seriously, which we were very happy about. Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a letdown. We shared the standard 2 pc fish and chips and a chicken shawarma and neither was as good as we’d hoped. The fish was not as fresh as we’re used to, and only having haddock to choose from was disappointing. The batter was quite greasy and the fries are clearly from frozen - not crispy at all. The shawarma was much better. Excellent flavour On the chicken and the pickled veggies. Rice was a bit dry but very tasty as well. Could have used a bit more sauce. Worth another visit to try some of the other Shawarma.

Pretty sure I tried this place a few months ago and I definitely don’t remember it being this good. Not sure what changed, but me and my boyfriend tried it again a few days ago and it was phenomenal! We got the chicken shawarma platter, which was huge and packed with flavour. We also got some fish and chips, which was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be frequenting this place now for amazing food and superb customer service. They were so welcoming and treated us like we were regular customers. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!
