We have lived in New West for 17 years and have seen sushi places come and go. This one is a keeper. Our children have always been educated in different tastes and we enjoy the fact they have a mature palate. Sushi heaven is at the top of their list. Before or after soccer and hockey they get hungry and this place is a go to McDonalds BITE IT!!!

I love this place! They make one of the best dynamite rolls I’ve ever had! But the reason I only gave 4 stars is because their spinach gomae is WAY too sweet! But besides that, sushi heaven is a great restaurant with extremely nice staff! :)

Tied this restuanrt for the first time and I thought it was just okay. Staff are very friendly and attentive to their customers. The food was good but nothing that stands out. Prices were reasonable. Unfortunately what threw the whole experience off was the fact that it got very busy after coming in and the waitress was seating new customers inches away from each other by separating the tables. Getting up and trying to squeeze by the tables was hell as you had to basically move the tables over to the side or you would knock peoples things off the table.....

Excellent service, we stayed past closing (didn't realize they had already closed while we were eating) yet our server didn't rush us and was super attentive the whole time we were there. They had a ton of vegetarian options clearly marked on the menu to choose from and everything was delicious. Would definitely recommend the Hashbrown Roll! There are a couple of free parking spots right in front of the restaurant.

Very very surprised about finding an authentic Japanese restaurant in this area. We (boss) were working in the area and it was lunch time. He suggested this place where he went last time he was at this jobsite. He usually doesn't like Japanese for lunch. My first impressions of the restaurant was it look mom and pop and the menu was on the expensive side for the area. After tasting my dish the udon pasta I was quite surprised at the flavors and taste. Also saw my bosses bento box which is in the background of my pic. Although nearing $20 in price it was a hugh portion. He nearly didn't finish it and it had a hugh assortment of food on it. He also raved that everything tasted good on it which he doesn't nominal say about Japanese food at lunch because he goes to his favorite very pricey Japanese restaurant for dinner all the time. This is a very repeatable restaurant which wifey, princess wasabi, and mini me would be coming here for tasty lunches or dinner.

Compare to their nearby competitor, Sushi Heaven offers better pricing and more variety of non-conventional rolls and dishes.I find the rice sometimes to be over-vinegar or too mushy. Fish quality can also be a hit or miss.Their lunch sets are a good value and the service are generally friendly and fast.

This is not a traditional Japanese restaurant at all, their food are for western taste, many sushi has cheese inside, it is abnormal. I ordered a seafood ramen, they gave me a bowl of instant noodles. When I left, I only paid 5% tips, they were unhappy. I was unhappy too, I didn't expect to pay a restaurant just for a instant noodle. Bad experience.

Shop local!! This is the place!! The best sushi place I've had! Staff is so incredibly kind, attentive and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious and is made very quickly. We order takeout often and it's ready in about 15 mins on average.

Excellent rapid sushi delivery. Nice staff. Street parking costs money on Sundays. Not their fault, but off you are used to free Sunday parking you could get a shock. Staff has no knowledge of local parking regulations. It would be a nice touch. It is within walking distance of Royal Columbian hospital.

There’s fine bones in my tuna roll!!! How is tuna chopped up so mushy for the tuna roll! Most places use an actual piece of tuna. But this place used left overs. Yakisoba was over cooked. Nigiri rice is not Japanese sushi rice. Proportions of sushi pieces are not right. The only thing that savage their two stars were their customer service.

I wrote a phenomenal review when I took takeout from this place last week that was 5 stars. Then I went back and dined in with some friends. Absolutely horrible this time. The food was not very well prepared, in fact the sushi broke apart while I was trying to eat it. The service left a lot to be desired. We had to ask for things and had to even get up to get our own cutlery. The worst part is there was only about 3 tables with 7 people total in the restaurant . The waitress had the nerve to try and rush all the patrons to pay so she could cash out at around 10 to 9 when they were closing. I honestly wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone and they would receive one star if not for the great takeout I had there last time I went.

This place was SO GOOD! Wow! They had a special roll the day I went- hash brown roll with tempura yam inside and a little piece of crispy hash brown on top and it was delightful. Also, the restaurant was full with only one waitress on but I managed to get my food in 15 minutes. Amazing.

Every time my friends and I eat here we feel sick afterwards. Food doesn't taste fresh or authentic at all. Had food poisoning once and another time found a toothpick in my sushi and staff didnt even offer to remake or take if off my tab after I complained. Service is decent, and reasonably fast but the taste is garbage... Ikoi sushi across the street is a million times better.

Came here since I passed by it a few times and read reviews. The food was decent. The chicken katsu had more breaded skin than meat. The rolls were great. I recommend the sushi heaven roll. We ordered the calamari roll but came late. So the timing was off. We came on a cold day and this place was freezing. Bring a jacket.

Tried to go in there yesterday to clear up this miss understanding refused a manager and continued to size me up and act aggressive. This place has gone downhill over the years. My most recent visit was bad enough that I will never go here again. My spicy tuna rolls barely had any tuna in them, and my beef teriyaki roll had barely any beef in it. They have raised their prices and I was ok with that until I realized that they were also decreasing their portion sizes. I borderline felt scammed.

One of the most mean customer services have dealt with. My gosh! Have been supporting this restaurant for over 4 years since it's in my community but most of the female staff ain't welcoming. Today, I wanted to get a lil bit of hot sauce for my food after paying for my order. A staff called jean looked me right in my eyes, smiled and said no. She insisted on charging me .50 cents on debit. I tried to explain to her it's costing me $2.50 for a .50 debit charge and that i needed sauce for my double order anyways She said no! I couldn't understand, it wasn't even about the money but how far she was willing to argue over .50 cents. This is just one of many unwelcoming encounters, i can go on and on. In the past have ignored a lot all in the name of supporting small businesses. Unfortunately, i can no longer continue with such, the restaurant staff don't care about customer service.I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great customer service..cause you my friend, will be disappointed.

I really love this place! My boyfriend and I go here regularly. They speak Japanese to each other and are always very friendly when they greet you. Service is prompt and very well done. Because we have gone here often and they seem to love us as customers, they actually asked where we were last week because we didn't come in. They noticed! It was adorable! I can't see myself going to a different sushi place with my boyfriend unless they are closed for the day or not within driving distance

Very nice atmosphere and interior. It was very quiet during our visit which was very nice and relaxing. Food is above average and service is fast.

Nice little place, unfortunately the sushi was average. Too much rice on the Nigri and specialty rolls. Fish was good but overpowered by the excess rice. Service was pleasant. Prices are reasonable. Overall a nice place and if they put less rice I will be back.

This is my third choice for sushi in Sapperton. Lots of awkward moments around mid afternoon when the entire staff just sits down and eats. People who think this is good sushi should really give they’re head a shake. Besides the entertainment garnered from them kicking customers away for their break time they have pretty good hours, I only come here when the other two places are too packed or closed. One star for hours. And another star for their fun selections of rolls. They’re imaginative and colourful rolls are actually very nice and also hides the fact they actually aren’t that good at the basic ones. Of course one the true test of a proper sushi chef is the tomago which they fail at horribly.

Located near Royal Columbian Hospital, in the Brewery district of Sapperton Area. I am glad to try it today. Sushi is Korean style which is my favourite kind. Think about Sushi California, Nanaimo Sushi, Sushi Garden, oyama Sushi, Sushi Town. Thats the kind of sushi restaurant this is. Ambience is good. Service is great. The only problem that I am disappointed is how small the sushi rolls or slices are. The prices are the same as the other Korean Sushi restaurants but man... I am so disappointed how small the slices are. I am going to try it again after 2 months, and I hope they improve the size. So far, I do not mind driving to Sushi California near Lougheed Mall. Okay. So I came back after 2 weeks. Oh my gosh! The sushis are miniature when it comes to size. That's $4.25 per miniature sushi roll. And the house roll which is $6 has 5 pieces and miniature. Ohhh my! I am not even exaggerating but the size is 1/3 of the size of the regular Korean sushis. The only people who will eat their are the ones who live around there. but for people who can drive around, they would rather go somewhere else. I am just saying.

A little disappointed. Maybe I had high expectations from a pretty good average score. The seats are a bit hard to sit on. I would classify the prices as being high for this type of restaurant and given the neighbourhood. The sushi combinations are not typical, that could be both bad and good. They are unique choices but I think I would prefer more Japanese type of sushi. This is a guess here but I think the menu is more adjusted to Korean clientele then people looking proper Japanese food.
