Stupendous
Amazing food! Smells great once you walk in and they gave us two free Filipino lemonade drinks to try, it was a nice surprise. Great deal on the 2/3 meat combo, and they pay attention to taste details. It’s worth my 20-25 minute drive from home just so I know I’m going to be eating food that’s guaranteed going to be good! You guys deserve to have lines out of the store, I wish you more business!
Free coffee refills. Best to get the lechon silog. Bangus is not boneless and tocino is not sweet enough. Desserts are yunmy too! There’s buko pandan, which is not in the menu, but it’s limited. Overall, I still like it and it will always be my go to place for silogs. Epic!
This place is a little slice of home. I had the pusit (dried squid) and lechon - so good! Definitely coming back for more.
Went for breakfast and was not disappointed! Wasn't too familiar with the menu and was told that the first three silogs on the menu were the most popular. I went with the Tap Silog (beef) and my partner ordered the Lechon Silog (crispy pork belly). Both were very delicious! Will definitely come again.
Epic is definitely my favourite Filipino restaurant. The food is fresh made and delicious. Their desserts really are pretty epic! The portions are huge and the service is always friendly. If I lived closer I'd go there more often. It's worth the trek though.
Absolutely LOVED this place, The tapsilog was the best I have ever tried! Staff was extremely friendly, If i could rate this 10 star restaurant I would! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Quick service, good food, nice surroundings. Will go again and a again.
I love this place, especially the delicious bangus. Nice service and good coffee. Very good for Pilipino breakfast.
Absolutely love this place, stuffed to the gills with phenomenal food at a great price, highly recommended!!!
The tapsilog is so good and the palamig with gulaman and sago is good also.
Delicious beef and pork slices, 2 over easy eggs on top of rice, combo #1 beef and pork silogs.
One of the best silog in town!! Will come back with friends next time! ????????????
I LVE THIS RESTAURANT ALL THE HATERS BACK OFF
Yummy food????????????????
So glad theres a Filipino restaurant so close by. Great place to grab a quick breakfast plus friendly staff. Lechon + tapsilog! What else is there to say?
Probably my favorite breakfast out there is a silog meal from Epic Grill. I used to go every Saturday when the restaurant was located in Yellowknife, NT and I was also living there. I finally made it over from Victoria and came in for breakfast/brunch. It was the same great food I missed when they left town. Dorothy and her husband still make amazing home-made Filipino sausages and grilled meats that are mouth watering. The silog breakfasts are awesome. My favorite is a 2 combo with the silog sausages and the sweet grilled pork. The combination of the sweetness of the pork and the saltiness of the sausage combined with the rice, eggs and some vinegar based dipping sauce is fantastic. If I lived nearby I would be in there as often as possible. I found the service great, the coffee good, and the atmosphere a classic diner feel. I am looking forward to another great breakfast there as soon as I can.
I make the effort to driving out to Queensborough to eat here. A homey hole in the wall diner serving classic filipino breakfast. I took my non-filipino friend here and he ended up bringing another friend. A great place to introduce filipino cuisine to someone who has never had filipino food.
Horrible service steer clear, don't waste your time and money.
Oh I really miss this place. Hopefully it opens soon. Staff are cordial, very hospitable, and the food is always great.
Awesome service. Amazing food. Their staff were so nice and friendly, they made us feel like we're part of their family. The ube/leche flan is soooooooo good!! It's home away from home!
I don’t know why so many people that ARE NOT Filipino have the most to say about how things should be cooked. Leave your outsider opinions for “restaurants” that relate more to you (McDonald’s, Burger King etc.) Filipinos know how our cuisine should taste. On a brighter note, I love coming here! Food portions are good, service is super friendly and everything tastes authentic. Absolutely no complaints. By far one of the best Silogs I’ve ever had.
Food and service was very very good and very nice people. You must try !!!????☝️
Excellent little Filipino restaurant, what a great find! Very welcome and friendly staff, they helped us understand what each of the menu items were and decide on what to get. The portions are good and everything tasted wonderful. Enjoyed the leaching and wing silogs - was very pleased. Unfortunately didn’t have room for dessert but they look yummy!
Great food, great place. I love their silogs and cakes. I hope they offer delivery soon on UberEats
Epic grill silogs is a filipino breakfast spot that is nothing special. The food is decent, but is overpriced and nothing to rave about in comparison to other Filipino restaurants, but where the 2 stars comes from is their service. Service felt very inconsistent both times I went here where servers weren't always present for customers. However, the one conssitensy you can rely on is waiting upwards to an hour for your food and in that same time or less you can make the food they serve you. I think that in order to grow, Epic Grill Silogs needs to reflect and improve upon their efficiency. In short, Epic Grill Silogs is a overpriced Filipino breakfast spot with inconsistent service and a much needed improvement in efficiency.
Food and service was great, awesome family atmosphere!
To those who are missing filipino food back home you have to try this place. Food was great but it always depends on your preference, price is very reasonable on top of their servings. They need to improve their presentation of the food when it comes to plating to make more appealling and appetizing. ????
Want a filipino-style home cooked meal?! Then get over here! Obviously a busy place to be at times but worth the wait!!
Very good food and good service. Go ahead and try everything wow.
Tasty food, cozy atmosphere, smiling faces. The garlic rice needs to be more "garlicky".
This place is a treasure. Soooooooo good.
Having brunch with my friends now...this place is gggggggreat????
Y'know what, I love finding hidden gems in vancity...and this is for sure a hidden gem. The food portions are good and does not lack flavor. It was everything that I had hoped for. The meat texture was good and was not overly salty or sweet. My eggs were cooked perfectly (medium over easy). The side sauces we're also very good. It was a home run - home cooking meal that was very satisfying. The place was pretty busy for a Tuesday noon and the service was good. Dessert at the end was pretty good as well. They don't skimp out on portions.
Whatever combination i choose, it's akways delicious and so good!!! Highly recommended if you're craving filipino food. Thanks epic grill!!!
Awesome service,great food
Easily one of my favorite breakfast places in Vancouver. Great variety on the menu and I've yet to have something I don't love. Not to mention awesome coffee!!
Love this place. Some of the best Filipino food and desserts I've had. Great service and friendly people too. Definitely going back.
Guys you need to eat here. Food is always EPIC. friendly staff. At the current moment they are only takeout NO DINE IN due to covid.
Out of all the Filipino restaurants, I would consider this place to be one of the most consistent on portion and taste. My personal choice most of the time is their Tosilog; Its tocino, like longganisa but without the wrapper. Another huge favorite of mine is their original Sans Rival. Being diabetic, its not that sweet at all. The busiest time to come are during the weekends around lunch time. If there is another place that you think is noteworthy, I would likmle to hear about to compare and review it.
Epic Grill Silogs is our go-to breakfast/brunch! Service and staff were nice!
Today I had the best milkshake of my life. I ordered the salted caramel and ube flavours. Perfectly creamy, sweet, thick, and had delicious chunks. I'm going back again.
Was here one Saturday morning. Don't know where to start. Waited for an hour to get a seat and noticed it was not actually busy, the turn-over was just crazily slow that's why people are lining upto the door while most of the tables are empty. Took 20mins to place our orders, over 40 mins for the food to arrive. The garlic fried rice is lacking of garlic and the bangus was too sour, both came are very oily. I expected a home-like experience, but actually disappointing. Paying the bill was taking forever. It was a time-vampire experience for a bangusilog plate, not again.
Good food, fair price...the place is a bit small and may need to be a little bit more organized...the bathroom is slippery.
Such friendly staff and a great meal
Very good place to go for yummy food . I patronize this place often because I find joy and feel proud to see Filipino businesses flourish. When I come here I see how hardworking the staff are. I personally can’t see myself doing what they do everyday that is why I appreciate them. I am saying not only because I know the owners but also I truly see the effort they put into what they do and how they deal with their customers. More power to Epicsilog and I hope people come visit and see for themselves what you are really all about. MABUHAY!
Epic meal! They are only doing take out for now due to restrictions. Very easy to order on their online system. Owners were nice! It got busy during the lunch rush but they were efficient!
This place is amazing, nothing fills my heart with more joy than visiting this place once a week. A must go to place for Filipino Canadians and those who love warm service.
Went for the first time today with my wife and son. Great place for quality food and the price was very fair. The place was very baby friendly. The food is great quality and not greasy. I liked the fact I did not smell like breakfast grease after eating there too. Milk shakes were great because they use real ice cream! The facility is old but clean. The servers are even careful enough to ask about allergiy considerations proactively. I saw some of their history decorations around the restaurant and notice they used to work in Northern Canada and were recognized for their food while serving the legislative assembly. Pretty impressive. When a Chief Health Inspector endorses you, you can't really go wrong. This is one of those small gem, hole in the wall places you have to try at least once.
Wow epic ang lasa.Super satisfying, it reminds me of my home town.Good size portion.Friendly staff and owner.
Very good food and reasonably priced
Definitely one of the better Filipino joints in the city. Casual, diner style. The meats and sauces are great. Their house made hot sauce is fire and their ube cake is good. Their flan is Ok. Love the personality here
This is my go-to breakfast destination -- I'm hooked on their lechon silog. Highly recommended!
I had an excellent experience with outstanding service, food, and comfortable atmosphere!
What can I say....awesome place!, warm and very pleasant athmosphere, friendly owners and staff, excellent service, good food and Filipino vibes all around...definitely missing home! A definite recommend for food enthusiasts who wants to try authentic Filipino silogs.
Great service, busy on weekends. Genuine traditional breakfast food. Service is very friendly, one of my goto places for breakfast/brunch
I have been here before, a few years ago when I lived near by. And I loved it, would have recommended in a second. But this trip was... Well let's say it will be my last. I asked for the epic breakfast, and I understand that some restaurants serve certain meals during certain days. That's understandable, I have witnessed and seen it before. What I don't understand is when the certain item they won't serve is pancakes, on a Sunday... Because there is meat on the grill? I didn't care personally but they did. Here is my next concern, I asked for an omelette. Easy enough right? Well I got my omelette (had to run home to meet movers, so wife brought it back for me) and the omelette was fine, my issue here is I asked for a side of hollandaise sauce. They serve eggs Benny, it says so on the, get this "Canadian breaky" side. Which is a whole not her issue I don't even want to discuss, it's just breakfast. Well I was told by the waitress they don't have hollandaise sauce. I was dumbfounded, I asked "what do you put on your Bennie then?" She left for a second, comes back and told me "We just out ketchup on them" This waitress was very young, I in no way fault her. So I asked for the menu, I needed to confirm they sold a Bennie, then I looked up their reviews so I could see pictures, holy cow. (The reviews, I regret ever looking. It seems anyone who has wanted breakfast has had a ''terrible experience'', and what is it with all this ''we don't serve white people''? That came up twice in other reviews, but I don't care about that. I didn't personally hear anyone say that, so no comment.) After looking up the reviews I discovered they do in fact carry hollandaise sauce, so I asked the waitress if this was the same establishment. In the picture, she confirmed, and I showed her the eggs benedict with the sauce. She said one second I will get the manager. He came out and said this, "sorry, I don't have any hollandaise sauce, I have to make it from scratch, and that would take forever" He asked if that was fine, and I just accepted defeat. How can you do that? How can you run a restaurant and not serve staple breakfast foods? On a Sunday no less, the one day a week where basically no human being wants to make their own breakfast. It was 1030, so there wasn't even a chance you could have run out by this time. My last concern now is this, at some point during this week the owner is going to log on to his computer, read this review, and argue everything. When you get to this sentence sir, I highly recommend you watch some kitchen nightmares with Gordon Ramsay. If you truly care about cooking, and are passionate about it, you will. He tackles subjects where a costumer has a legitimate complaint, and how to handle it. Rule number one, don't argue, accept your faults and correct them. Coming from someone in the arts industry I know all about correcting errors and improving my craft. I suggest you look at doing the same before writing what you plan.
Great coffee... Awesome food. Super friendly and fun employees. Highly recommend.
Service is slow.went in.wasn't busy.i understand food takes time to cook.shouldn't take an hour.they don't ask if you need a refill on drinks.they don't serve white people.heard from a family member they don't serve white food.asked them to leave.saw her brew the coffee grounds twice.
Silogs were traditional.
My bf and I are in town visiting from Winnipeg. Our family took us here for breakfast, and o.m.g.. best filipino breakfast ever. We have filipino restaurants in Winnipeg but they're nowhere near as tasty, and they tend to be covered in grease. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Reminds me of home. Worth the drive.
Delicious ????
Nice place with great food ????????????????????????
You will feel warm people greetings you Tagalog, as I have been in Manila with my Family in a Tapsi Resto in Pasig City. If you know Tapsi ni Vivian in Pasig you might says 30% better than there. Wala nga lamang sabaw Manang..ahahaha Oh, I miss the free soup. The verdict “Twothumbs up”
Food is amazing and reminds me of my moms cooking. Service is excellent and the staff are all so nice, we will come back again for desserts and more silogs.
Don't waste your money and time to try this restaurant, VERY BAD customer service!
Really good tapa. Well-marinated and authentic. Longanisa was below average. Overall really good.
Saw couple of reviews saying their Canadian breakfast is not the best, but this is a Filipino Silog place, so.. For us, it passed the standard of what we're looking for in a Filipino breakfast. Decent price for the amount of food. Some people are saying you can just cook these simple food at home. Yes you can. Stay at home then. We came on a busy Sunday. Lucky we went there when it just opened for the day, 'cause it got too busy that they had to close the place for a little while. Place is kinda old and ventilation is not the best, especially on a hot summer day. It can get a little warm inside. Food is made as you order so prepare to wait, reassures you that they're made fresh. Their longanisa is not the chubby, sweet, red longanisa I was expecting but still pretty okay. The rest of the food was great. Refillable coffee. We got a free treat at the end of our meal too (free halo-halo). Overall pretty nice staff but there's just one lady who we would love to commend (super nice), but we didn't get a name. Will we come back? If we have private vehicle, yes. Location's not the easiest to get to when you're taking transit especially on Sundays where busses are rare.
Good Filipino food
Unreal breakfasts. The flavours packed into each of the meat choices make my mouth water just writing about them now. Coffee is top notch, served in huge cups and refilled constantly. If you like spicy food, their hot sauce is uniquely great. A totally worthwhile trip over to Queensborough for some authentic Filipino cuisine. Yes, the building and interior is a bit shabby, but the food more than makes up for that. Some of the best food is found in modest places just like this.
—- Finally, found a homey place called “tapsilogan” or the name itself. Its like a grandmas kitchen, home away from home.. satisfied my cravings of pusit and biya. They also served canadian breakfasts!
Great Mom and Pop place. Worth the wait.
Fantastic food and great staff, great bang for your buck.
(Translated) Disastrous, (Original) Desastrosa,
Diner style Filipino food with a variety of traditional style meats. Have the options of Canadian breakfast and Silog Combos. We came here after everyone raves about it as well as family living close by. Unfortunately our rice was over cooked and over fried to the point that they were hard and crunchy. Not the nice texture to be chewing on and rice constantly getting stuck in your teeth. Overall was an average experience and nothing memorable. Maybe it was just an off day when we went
Named appropriately.. the silogs are EPIC! Calling all filipinos and fans of great food in general! Called for pick up and ate at the park just down the street. We ordered, tocilog, combo one (tapa and lumpia), combo two (pork chop, lechon, and biya), and sansrival. Everything was delish, just like your lola made it for you. The only thing I could fault was the price, it was more on the $$$ side. But I get it, do what you gotta do. It is worth the cost. Def come by and try for yourself.
Great place for home made breakfast just got introduced to this place 2nd time it is now the go to break fast place to go to
Great food, great place which gives an 'old school diner' vibe. Location is out of the way but driving there is fine.
Oh my. Good homestyle cooking. Epic Grill lives up to its name. All kinds of silog you can imagine.. for those of you who are not familiar with what a silog is... it's a dish with garlic fried rice, eggs and your choice of meat or fish. It definitely is the best in town. Tucked away in the heart of the Queensborough community, while it may be slightly out of the way it is so worth the drive to come here. Happy tummies for my family!
????????????????????????☝️
Rice toppings at its fiinest. Parking is hard on busy days and you have to find an empty spot near the establishment and walk to the restaurant right after.
Food is great, service is excellent! This place is privately owned and you can tell that the owners take pride on their food and restaurant.
First time at Epic Silog... fantastic food and perfect service... met the owner and she was extremely friendly and very easy to talk to.. family and I will surely come back again. For the food , desserts and the conversation ...and especially for the UBE Milkshakes
Solid.
Long wait on Sunday. Food ok but expensive breakfast.
Great food!!!
Are you craving for those Filipino cakes that remind you of home? Try the Ube Cake. This version is made with ube whipped icing, ube cake, leche flan centre, topped with halayang ube and coconut macapuno with a flower flan centre. Before you eat the cakes, Ube cake or the Sans Rival, enjoy one of their milk shakes. I ordered the Ube Milk Shake. It's made with ube ice cream and many other chunks and sprinklings of tropical ingredients like dessicated coconut bits. Hungry for Filipino breakfast? Go for Combo 2. Choose 3 Silog "meats" or toppings from the list of Silogs. Delicious and reminds me of home. Tumutulo nanaman ang laway ko. ???? After you have had your fill of the savoury meal, take a stroll and prepare your belly for the sweet dessert to come. Take a jab at the Sans Rival. OMG! Savour the layers of nuts, butter cream and meringue. Then, end it with the special ube cake. The icing is so whipped it has the consistency of whipped ice cream. Light and creamy. Wow! Layers of goodness in between the sweetness. ????
I am ashamed of myself for not leaving a review on my favorite brunch location! Been coming here long before they even had signage. I never expect made to order meals to be quick, but the Epic Grill does it in a timely fashion. The Silog is nothing more than rice, eggs, and two meats; something the family has perfected! Their hand crafted meats and homemade desserts are to die for! Being not Filipino, I still feel welcomed. If it's your first time experiencing Filipino food, I'd suggest a silog with Tocino (a sweet ham), Longganisa (a sausage), served with garlic rice and two eggs. Finish your meal with a Sans Rival slice. I'd describe the cake as less cake and more like the texture of marshmallows, pistachios, and rice krispies mixed together, even tho I'm sure that's NOT what's in it! Overall I've never been disappointed, and everyone I have introduced has returned. Highly recommended! If my review helped you, please hit thumbs up! ???? Salamat! (thanks!)
Always a welcoming place for great food and huge portions. Family owned and operated.
Really good unique food. The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating. Love this place.
Large portion sizes and great dessert! Service was a little slow, but staff was very friendly. :)
Perfect ???? ???? ❤️
Friendly staff. And we really enjoyed the food, which is commonly cooked at filipino homes but "expertly" prepared and presented. "Busog!!!"
Great Filipino food! The location is smacked in the middle of a neighbourhood - which brings out the awesome homey yet quality-filled food and service it's famous for. Simply the best!
This is located in a quiet neighborhood and their interior design is very quaint and I love it. They open earlier than any other restaurants too so it's a perfect place to help yourselves with their hearty servings of Filipino breakfast "silogs" as an early start of your day. They serve free refill for your coffee and even offered me a fresh cup to go with. The servers are very nice and pleasant. The food tasted great. So I am gonna keep coming back for sure.
Always tasty
Overall, I think the value is not great. A little run down place, but charging a decent price. A little smelly when I first got in. I ordered the following items: 1. I ordered the epic combo two with 3 sliogs. The fried rice is a little too oily for my taste, fired sole fish is more like thick piece of paper. 2. I also order their epic burger, the burger is not epic at all. the bun taste like store brought bun and frozen for weeks. And it was not grilled or warm. by the end of it, it was falling apart. The pretty remind me my college days - buying froze petty from store and cook in my tiny apartment. Well it fine for my college days and eating in my PJs, I definitely expect more out of a burger that cost $11.95 and call it self "epic burger". 3. The poutine, however, it is quite good. 4. At but not least, some sort of green tea desert. quite tasty. Their coffee, although not strong, but quite good.
10/10 would recommend the Ube milkshake. You get all the halaya goodness in every sip!
We’ve only had the silogs and they were delicious. Hole in the wall decor but the home made food ???? is good!
waited 1 hour for bland food, dirty hallway walking towards washroom, wait time is awful. From reading past reviews, I am fully expecting an arrogant, pompous response to my review. It seems the owner does not take criticism very well. 2019-08-30 Thank you for proving my original review correct. How hard is it to take the criticism and make things better?
It’s an interesting Philippine brunch venue. The neighborhood was quiet and not busy, so the street parking was not a problem. The room was neat and clean and the layout of the tables look like a community dining cafe, making me feel cozy when I stepped in. The server suggested the pork belly and the marinated beef, as these two are the most commonly served brunch for local Philippine people. I personally appreciated the crispy pork belly better, as the beef was tasted sweet a bit. The main was rice. More vegetables would be better and healthier. In general, it was a little heavy as the first meal of the day. Since it’s brunch, I don’t think it’s a big deal.
Horrible service stood there waiting for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us then they wanted to sit us at a dirty table she washed with disgusting dirty cloths. When we went to sit down she stopped us and asked the people behind us if they were there first.I told her no we were she then told me don't get angry after we had been glared at by her.We walked out never again
Love it here! They have the best silogs in the lower mainland. So tasty! Staff is nice and friendly as well. Highly recommend!!
Food is soo good!! Would have taken a pic but I ate it all!
Incredible hidden gem! Food is made fresh when ordered and the silogs ARE!???? INCREDIBLE!???? It's too bad the dine in was closed due covid but the place reminds of dive-dinners in Hawaii (tacky-chic). Pro-tip, there's an awesome park metres away that has tables and a open field (perfect for an impromptu picnic). ~ Highly recommend this place. Also their San Rival is ????????????
Epic Grill Silogs is a fabulous restaurant. The food is made fresh and with amazing flavour. The restaurant portion is closed for now with the Pandemic, but their take out is fast (approx.7-10 mins). There are many choices for their Silogs and their two combos (2 or 3 choices) are great to try different Filipino items. This is a family run restaurant! The husband and wife are such a lovely couple and their children are actively involved. They take pride in their business and I love coming back. There are lots of good reviews with very good pictures, but you have to go there to appreciate the Epic flavour and don't forget to order some sans rival!
Amazing food with sizeable portions. Having the combo option is a huge bonus. Definitely worth the drive out.
Classic Filipino breakfast fare in a down to earth homey environment
Summary: great menu choices for small to large appetite. Visit during the weekdays to avoid long line ups. Group of 4 or less will get u in faster. Visited on sunday @ noon. Place is cosy but busy. Waited for more than 15 mins cause we had a large group. Noticed they sat a large group before us when not everyone was there. Take note management.... service was ok. Able to wave them down for requests. Food took a while like over 30mins possibly because of our large group. Meals were well presented. Ordered combo #2 and chose long (sweet sausage) , chop (pork chop) and tapsilog (beef). All was tasty but pork chop was deep fried. Pearl drinks were ordered that came in very tall glasses. Milkshake was delicious also. Wouldnt mind coming back but not on a weekend.
Be warned the Canadian breakfast ends at 11am The silog is very good. Tap silog is thin sliced beef and the "goto" for first timers. Silog comes with rice, egg, and topping. The sweet sausage taste is interesting for non-filipinos. I would recommend avoiding the squid for your first time. Good prices, a little slow, be vocal to get service, staff can be inantive; but overall very good.
Great place to eat with friendly staff! The prices are awesome for what you get and the food is 8/10. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!
Best brunch restaurant i've been to. Generously large servings, and fast service. Will definitely come back for more. Cant go wrong with filipino silogs!! Ohh and a lil cherry on top try their sansrival merangue cakes in 5 different flavours! Ps: read some bad comments and i was hesitant to try, but they proved them wrong with my experience. See for yourself.
I'd give this place 1 star. Just my honest opinion. It does not meet the standards of excellent North American Filipino dining. The kitchen smells up to a certain point where we were seated. The price is expensive compared to those Filipino restaurants located in Joyce-Collingwood area. Upon entering Epic Silog, you might feel discomfort and worry about the cleanliness of the place; we tried to eat anyway. The place is dark and old; it needs total renovation; the owner should be more sociable; the napkins on the tables looked like they were squeezed into the holders hurriedly; the way food is presented is nothing even compared to ordinary Filipino homes; Epic Silog needs to grow up and not pretend to be a better part of the Filipino culture or cuisine because it isn't. What it is ... it's just a bump up of the market stalls of Manila's rough neighborhood, except that it's in Canada. A reviewer here mentioned health and fire inspection... Epic Silog needs one. The owner actually replied to one of the reviews stating the building is old and the exhaust fans couldn't do well.. by Epic's own admission and published it here in google reviews... I agree. The building is old, musty and dark. It isn't worth the price. Go somewhere else.
This remind me of home -"turo-turo" cheap serving in large portion, masarap! I like this family business. I deal place to go for filipino brunch!
Good portion size. Taste good
Decided to try this place after going to the bottle return, was not disappointed. Nice little cafe-style, family owned place. I got the Lechon Silog (flash fried pork belly) with rice, 2 eggs, and Epic Vinegar on the side. SO GOOD! Great flavours, eggs were cooked perfectly, and the fat was nice and buttery with the crispiest skin ever! Service was fast and also very courteous and professional. Looking forward to going back asap. Definitely give it a try!
The best!
Delicious Breakfast
Great Pancakes ..!!!
Tastes good, great atmosphere, and super chill staff
This place sucks. The owner is so pompous just read the replies. Rude and insulting to customers. Great way to run a business! Do you really think I have trouble paying the extra $1.00??? Why would I give a tip if I can't afford the extra loonie?..oh yeah, I know. You don't know how to listen to your customer who is trying to understand her bill. You have 2 ears and a mouth for a reason and it would help to use it wisely, don't you think? Just something for you to ponder on as a responsible business owner.
This place was pretty good. I got the longanisa/tosilog and the portion was quite big. I was surprised by their longanisa. It isn’t the traditional longanisa. It reminded me of normal sweet English breakfast sausages. Overall, breakfast here is good but I’ve had better.
Great variety of silog. Good portion
Expected them to be open during thanks giving due to them putting “open, but hours may differ” in their hours. So we came at 11 am and the restaurant is closed. No edits that they’re closed or anything.
Awesome..
Decent food, long line up's. Make sure to put your name in for a larger group. It's made to order so be ready to wait over 30+ mins on food/drink(milkshakes).
This place is truly one of a kind. From the service to the food, they excel.
Amazing homemade food made/served by very kind staff
Good food but kitchen is a bit slow.
My go to spot during lunch time. Freshly cooked, good portions, excellent customer service, clean and reasonably priced.
I couldn't believe there's such a great breakfast place on Annacis island. Some friends invited me to this hole in the wall on a wide street in a residential neighborhood. The owner/ chef actually gives you 4 choices just for fried eggs and gets them right. He specializes in Filipino breakfast comfort food with more than a dozen viands from marinated steak, to crisp fried pork belly, smoked fish, dried squid and even spam, paired with garlic fried rice and eggs cooked your way. He also has Canadian favorites like bennys, pancakes and hash browns. We were having breakfast so we didn't try their "epic desserts". Definitely a destination when you're in the area.
Cozy hole in the wall for breakfast food. Staff were nice and friendly. Portions were generous. Great place!
Dont know about the other menu items. Only tried the silogs and it was very good.
Food and service is always excellent here. Love that we're supporting local business, while getting great food! Great place for Filipino brunch, good sized portions and the food is fresh. Family friendly, too!
Good food fear price great quality in the kitchen
Bad customer service!!!
Their Ginumis is da bomb!
Taste meh. Better pinoy restos out there.
Good food
It’s good could be a bit better service and cleaner but nice people and good food so yeah haha. The cakes are soo good and I recommend the cashew and pistachio!
I tried this place for the first time with my bf & I, and the food was amazing and the staff were super friendly! It is like a "diner style" Filipino restaurant. The food is ALWAYS FRESH - they cook the food fresh when you order it. I would definitely come back here and I recommend this place!
Tasty food, fast service, and really kind staff! You can tell that they really care about their food.
Went here for lunch and ordered the lechonsilog. Portion size is just right and received great service!
Regular silogs with tosilog ???? sans rival pistachio ????????♀️????????♀️????????♀️(really like it
I'm visiting from Oklahoma and this is the best thing next to being in the Philippines. Excellent food.
Went here for brunch a couple weeks ago and had to come back last Saturday to fill the silog cravings. I wish their dine in waa open but, one of the guys said they're hoping they'll open back up for dine in on September. Either way their silogs are going to fill up your needs. Lots of options for your meats. The garlic rice is thoroughly garlic'd and matched with some sunny side up eggs, makes for an awesome combo. My sisters' faves is the bangusilog, tocilog, and corn silog. The place is a bit out of the way from other restaurants but, if you're looking for some great Filipino silogs, this is one of the places to go. One thing to note though, their longsilog is not the original long ganisa and its more of a sweet sausage type. Nothing against the sweet sausage but, definitely prefer the original.
The restaurant is small compared to others with a good family atmosphere and the specialties in the house are plenty and the servings are a lot. The specialty desserts are great.
Arrived @ 1:45pm Seated @ 2:05PM Food Served @ 2:57PM
Hidden gem highly recommended
Best silog in vancouver. Hands down
Really cozy and friendly little diner serving mainly Silog (egg and fried rice with a meat option) but also do western breakfast until 11, and other western items as well. I had the tapsilog and longsilog combo (beef and sausage). This is full on comfort food! I feel sorry for people that don't try Filipino food, or any "ethnic" food for that matter. I was the only Caucasian in there, and it was packed for lunch. A Caucasian girl did walk in, sat down, looked at the menu and then left... oh well! Only gave 4 stars just because my ex's mother made better tapsilog(sorry guys but she would be tough competition to beat regardless!). I work nearby though, and miss Filipino food, so I'll probably be there a lot now that I found this place.
Epic Grill Silog (which apparently has like 3 different names on Google maps?) Is a really interesting Filipino eatery on Queensborough island in New Westminster. Known for their Silogs (basically delicious meat and eggs on rice) this is not your typical breakfast, but it is worth a try! Well priced and a unique option, it's one of the few non chain restaurants on Queensborough and is worth your visit for that alone!
(Translated) The tapsilog is my savior! (Original) The tapsilog is my faaaave!
Came here with my fiancée because we wanted Filipino food, decided to come here because it was recommended by a few friends and now I know exactly why. This place is great! And exactly what we were looking for, Filipino breakfast, but they also have “Canadian” breakfast. This restaurant is mostly breakfast food, if you’re looking for delicious Filipino breakfast definitely head here, wont be disappointed! The portions are good and the prices are very fair. This is stuff you could probably make at home but that’s not why you go to a restaurant in the first place, so the reviews that say that are ridiculous. We came here on a Thursday afternoon around 1400 and it was almost empty, perfect timing I guess. We ordered the Tapsilog and the a Spam silog and it was incredibly simple and delicious! Will be coming back here soon to try the other silogs!
This restaurant has the worst customer service. Dont try to come an hr before closing because they close early without warning and wont even pick up the phone when your calling to see if there open.
Fast , fresh and good food. Will definitely come back.
Second time ordering from this place. Tapa silog is my favourite and flan is delicious!
Went in this restaurant on June 30 at lunch time. PARKING: Tough to find one in front; we parked at the back and entered through the kitchen. Limited parking at the back as well. WASHROOM : I didn't see any significant wall divider between the washroom and kitchen. If you're entering though the back door, the passage to the restaurant is a bit narrow. As someone who worked at the Fire Hall, that passage does not pass fire regulations. Too narrow for evacuation. too much blockage; FLOORS: old and stained; too worn out for a restaurant; the lino's peeling in certain parts all over the place THE CHAIRS: some are wrapped in plastics maybe to keep the stains or prevent bugs THE CEILING are also worn out ; some lights don't work well; there was a busted fluorescent lamp; THE BAR: yes, there is a bar; but those are just extra seats; no alcohol served; the stools of the bar can seat children The bar serves as counter top for anyone who cannot find a seat- then seat and eat at the bar area AMBIENCE: if you just want to eat, you can settle for a place like Epic Silog; If you're looking for something better, willing to pay pricey food cost, look for another Filipino eating places somewhere. THE MENU: If you're familiar with Filipino dishes and how they are prepared, you can do the type of food at home without having to spend good amount of money; Unlike other Asian cuisine that sometimes use exact science to prepare food, silogs are home meals., usually eaten in the morning ( Breakfast) The place offers fried rice and eggs; ( about two eggs) and a choice of "SILOGS" - those are just longaniza (sausages; or tocino - beef/ pork/ or chicken marinated in special sauce; preserved fish, squid; but you can't order all these perks in one order; Each order only allows you two choices. Coffee is served with free refills, at about $2.75 that's a good price and reasonable; OUR ORDER: My friends ordered crispy lechon; we all shared just to have a taste of the food; we smelled a urine-like smell of the pork; this smell is typical when meat got mixed with some other contaminated meat. I ordered rice with egg and tocino and longaniza. The longaniza was the size of an average finger, with some sourness in it and the tocino, sliced in tiny bits was exaggeratedly colored with red food coloring and sugared too much. Our bill came to close to $60. 3 plates of silog (fried rice, egg and two meat selection with coca-cola's each; another one order crispy lechon.. We did not finish our food; we took them home and of course, we couldn't salvage the taste or texture, we dumped them. WORTH IT??> This restaurant looked like an old country diner if you're driving a rig somewhere in Eastern US, to Utah or Idaho, for example; except that it does not serve too much of typical Western breakfast.; The building is old but not run down; the place is dark because there are no windows except the front glass windows; parking is limited; it is located almost towards the end of Ewen avenue in New Westminster; The counter area needs cleaning, organizing; so that rats and bugs do not converge specially during summer under those shelves and ice cream freezers; The flow of air is constricted; if there's air conditioning, it has bad circulation because the building is quite old... FOOD: We gave this 3 stars CUSTOMER SERVICE; the woman ( maybe she owns the place) was quite polite but nothing more than anymore sociable- after all we went there to eat. Compared to many other Filipino restaurants, this place is better to stay at the end of Ewen to make money; else where, there could be health and safety inspection and fire inspection already. it can be easily a target of other competitors like some of those Chinese restaurants in Vancouver.
Great food and service! Must try!
The past few times I ate here was ok. Today though I find the color of the tocino a bit weird. It was kinda purplish maroon. Makes you wonder what kind of food coloring they used. It still taste like tocino but it was not as enjoyable as before. I suggest they quality check it before serving.
Love this place! Been there a couple times, and everyone is always so friendly! Food here is amazing!
pretty EPICCCCCCCC
Good portions and great value.
Why is it not open for dine?all are open for dine -in except them.hope they will do the same like other restaurants.
Went for breakfast and tried the benny only because I wasn’t that hungry, but it was pretty good. Not the usual poached eggs you find at other restaurants, but it tasted good. Hash brown was decent too. Fair price and good service! It was my first time there, the server gave me some suggestions on what are their signature dishes, would like to go back to try next time.
I am giving my experience 1 star only because there are no options for no stars. My gf and I were craving filipino food and decided to give this place a try today. We were pointed to a table and after we took our seats, a pregnant waitress came over to our table and threw the menu onto it. Without a simple greet like " hi ", nor even to ask us if we wanted anything to drink, she made her way back to the counter. My gf and I spent literally 15 mins waiting for her to come by our table so we can place our orders. She knew that we were ready to order but decided to ignore us instead. I can confirm this because another customer that came 10 mins after us was getting the attention and simple service that we did not. At that point, my gf and I decided to walk out and not support this business. I cannot comment on their food because we did not get the chance to place our orders. But I can say that the service was a turn off and I will not step foot in this establishment again.
Excellent service and breakfast.
Unreal service and food! Deffs recommend this place!
best filipino breakfast served in town????????
Had the squid slog and uber flan . Both were very good.
Awesome
This place sucks. The owner is an insecure racist. He went as far as to leave a fake 1 star review on a competitors business under the alias Emma Pho. Quick glance at the reviews and the responses from the owner or manager should be enough to keep anybody away from this establishment.
OMG please update your hours of operation...lol seriously wouldn't mind trying your food, since we live in the neighbourhood, but we have tried 4 times now.....and you close 1hr to 30min before your posted closing time. I think we will give up trying now.
I was eager to try out the food, sadly, the one I wanted was unavailable (the waitress informed us they ran out of the item last night). So, had to settle for another silog item but even it was meh. I am not one to usually bother posting a review unless it exceeds my expectations in a good way but this is an exemption and I feel obligated to do so. So upon paying, we mentioned to, whom I was assuming was the the owner, a small misunderstanding on the menu. Instead of diffusing things, as a mindful and effective business owner would, and tactfully say, "Yes, it could be misunderstood as this and that, however, this is actually what it means...." Instead she took the low road and responded negatively by saying, "So, what exactly do you want to happen?", very sarcastically and in a condescending manner. Not only were we taken aback by this unexpected rude remark but she didn't seem to mind embarrassing herself infront of other patrons whatsoever which portrayed a very poor reflection on her business. If she can treat someone who is helping her business thrive infront of her own other paying customers in the open, I now feel so sorry for her poor employees. Prior to ordering, we asked the waitress (who was nice and tactful by the way) about the menu in question but gave us a different answer. So in all, the confusion was not only taken and observed by us but also by her very own employee. Then again her attitude was an A+. Perhaps something that the owner can learn from. Food wise, not something I would go back for again. I can honestly say I can make a pretty similar plate at home and be happier with it. As a contructive critism, your menu selection is few, mainly on silog; running out of the main thing you are selling is a very bad thing, or lets just say an "EPIC FAIL". We, as paying customers expect only the best. If you want to run a business, do it right or stay home. That said, will be proactively telling friends and families to NEVER EVER SET FOOT IN THIS RESTAURANT BASED ON A SIMPLE FACT THAT, YOU, THE OWNER OF THIS PLACE DO NOT DESERVE TO RUN AN EFFECTIVE BUSINESS WHICH INVOLVES MAINLY PROVIDING BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. Clearly for you tact is non-existent and you simply are not fit to be in the front end of things (also based on a lot of the negative feedback on here is mainly on your poor handling of things). Consider hiring a host/hostess instead and stay home madam! If and/or when that happens, please let me know and I might have a chance to reassess my ratings ???? My true rating: Food 2.5 stars Atmosphere 3 stars Customer service NEGATIVE 10
Every meal is cooked to order. I really like their sans rival. The cake was uniquely savorous. Also, their beef and pork were flavorous and seasoned to perfection. I highly recommend for everyone, not just Filipinos. We will surely come back to EPIC GRILL SILOGS.
First time here, it was great food and great service. Would definitely recommend.
1. Food is good !! No doubt. But taste is subjective, because my girlfriend wasnt fan of how oily the dishes are. But for me the silogs are good! one of the owners is a Baker, She makes goood desserts. 2. Epic “TAGAL” “SLOW” They cook the food on demand, so its gonna take a while to get your food, plus sometimes it gets busy. u have to wait to be seated and wait for ur food ! I never had to wait to be seated but i experience waiting 30mins for my food. My friend told me that they were inline for 1hour . 3. Come in fresh, you will walk out smelling like SILOG !!
The servers were funny and nice! Good filipino food and drink that they make!
Yeah this place is bomb. I know it's far but what else are you doing? Friendly quick service, very delicious.
They don't answer the phone. I've called 3 times on different days hoping to order takeout and no one answers. It's a shame because I live very close by and wanted to give this place a try. What kind of business doesnt answer the phone during business hours?
Great place, meals cooked to order!
Someone please tell these folks to greet their customers upon arrival. It's important for a business to make their customers feel welcome. Other than that, the food was fine but nothing special. Heck my GF could make the same food at home at half the price. Response to the owner: Why are you suggesting that I maybe a troll when I gave you 3 stars? As an owner you should be ashamed of yourself. That is my honest opinion and feed back for you to help you improve things. Also when I said my gf could make the same food, I'm not claiming we can duplicate the recipe, rather something that taste equally as good. So stop being sensitive about things bud. Listening to customers without being defensive is a good way to improve business.
If there's negative star, I would put it up. Bad service, lousy food, and the owner sneers down on anyone who writes bad reviews on her alleged restaurant. Scroll down and read the past reviews and you'd see the owner willing to wage war against anyone .... hahaha.
Beef tapa combo was good but hated the rice taste dry and old. Tocilog is ok not sweet again with a combo rice is bad. Longsilog is ok skinless and small so not enough for me again with rice is bad. Corned beef is good not oily but again it’s a combo so rice is no good. Everyone wears mask except the old guy making the food that you can see from waiting area. PLEASE WEAR A MASK WHEN MAKING THE FOOD!
Fulfilled my Filipino breakfast preggo craving! Definitely going back
