Their Halibut fish and chips is a MUST try!, ALL items are very tasty, definitely worth your money. I usually visit this restaurant as its close to home but on 12/25/21 I was very disgusted at what I saw..this review is not to bring negative attention but it is written to let the owners so better...kitchen is dirty..no one uses gloves ,masks or hair nets...if I could eat hear I could eat in a back alley somewhere..as soon as I got home..I saw hair in my husband's gravy..we were so upset we called and the older gent that answered the phone said that's strange..I could give a free gravy..we dis not end up eating our meal nor did we went back to get another gravy...its not about money or free stuff ...when patrons are spending their hard earned money...u should definitely make the location cleaner and more efficient.

Bought the 4 pcs family fish & chips meal (2 cod and 2 haddock). The fish was meaty and batter tasted great (fresh and flavourful), but unfortunately the batter and fish on the thinner ends were too hard and difficult to chew. We were a bit disappointed that it wasn't traditional in that the chips weren't chunky and were actually fries that were a little overdone. The fresh lemon wedges were a nice touch, and the owner was very pleasant and also included a complimentary pot of gravy which was very tasty.

I ordered take out from here for lunch for the first time. The spicy fish with fries was absolutely amazing. No idea what seasoning is used on the fish but WOW. Hands down the best fish I’ve eaten anywhere. Will definitely be back for more as I regret not ordering the bigger portion. So delicious!!!

I was walking around and got hungry. Went in randomly. The owner was available and very helpful. Helped me select my food...we bounced a few ideas and finally settled on the Spicy fish and chips. Took a large since we were two people. The fish was fresh, and the meal prepped fresh while I waited. It was spicy enough for me and extremely tasty! Look at the perfect batter in the picture! I found that my chips too had pepper/chilly on them. If you're not too find of spicy food maybe you can ask for the chips to be bland. I LOVED the green sauce (chutney); it was the perfect accompaniment for this meal... If you're in the area, walk in or order online; they're affiliated with skip the dishes I believe. I however enjoyed sitting in their booth by the window, the shop is very clean, smells lovely of warm fresh food and is cozy... Enjoy the meal!

I just simply love all the food items on their menu & I guess I had never eaten any food that is more delicious than what they offer. Love the quality of the food, service, owners & the place itself.. Spicy fish, Halibut, Zinger... Nothing is one over the other all the items are sooo good... Absolutely fantastic..!! Its worth every single penny so definitely give it a try...

The place is a bit dated but seems to have loyal customers. Has an old school vibe. I loved the flavor and quantity. My husband did comment that the frying oil smelt old on the fish but that would be just him. Overall a good nostalgic food experience.

Zero stars. ordered for delivery. HALF THE ORDER WAS MISSING! Called to complain and was told "ooops we were busy... ya.. sorry about that." No offer to make it right, nothing. And honestly not missing out. Onion rings were cold and soggy. The one piece of fish that did show up was mediocre at best. Pre packaged coleslaw was good. Would definitely NOT recommend this place. Poor customer service. Less than good food. #RippedOff #LostCustomer

Worst experience ever. Ordered fish and chips and a philly steak and cheese with a poutine for my spouse. Had to wait 30 minutes for my food which my fish was rock hard because it was over cooked along with my fries which were cold. The philly steak sandwich looked soggy and too much condiments on the sandwich. Wont ever go there again. Couldnt even finish my food. dissatisfied and completely disgusted. I wouldnt recommend this place is to anyone and thr inside looks so run down and very gungy.

Food is very salty and oily, they don't wear gloves while cooking, masks aren't worn probably(some don't even wear them). Also note that most these reviews are fake as they give free drinks everytime you give them 5 stars.

Just ordered and this was the worst fish and chips I have ever had! Fries were cold and not fresh cut but frozen fries! Gravy was like water fish was not great would never order again can’t believe I paid what I did for this horrible meal!

I'm so disappointed with this restaurant and I haven't even had a taste of their food. I ordered today through Ubereats (1:30 earlier today) and placed my order this morning to be delivered for this afternoon (5:45-6:15). It is 6:36 and the Ubereats driver (3rd one because of the wait time) is still waiting for my order to be prepared. The estimated delivery time is now at 7:05 which is unacceptable considering we were expecting our food around 5:45. If this restaurant is not able to fill orders on time for food delivery service, then they shouldn't be using this service. This is precisely the reason we are opting for food delivery so that we can avoid wait times and the inconvenience of waiting for take-out. I won't be ordering from this place again. It's terrible customer service!

Ordered Halibut & Chips. Walk in order took 25 mins+. Fish was edible but a bit soggy & definitely not fish & chips worthy. Fries were horrible; stale and tasteless. No coleslaw or side included (with a $12 platter???); had to order separately - it was just ok. Will not be re-visiting.

Used to like it a lot but recently the quality has been okay. The fish dried up in under 10 minutes as I did a takeout and became inedible. I would advise the owner to use a higher quality fish rather than Basa for the Spicy Fish. This review is only for takeout. This restaurant has amazing food when fresh!

I initially came in because I saw the sign Subs, so I thought that maybe they made subs as well but they only really have a Philly cheesesteak sub and a fish sub. I ordered a chicken souvlaki. The taste is good and the people are friendly. I was confused about the salad because it contained pickles, but I love pickles so I ate them. It’s not a traditional chicken souvlaki but the taste is there. It did take some time to get my food. I am curious on how the fish and chips taste at this location, and I think that’s what I would order if I came back to this location.

This place is great. I've only ordered twice via Skip the Dishes. The halibut is great quality and very thick, not like other places that have think halibut and all batter. Give you a good portion of fries, which are a family favourite plus the onion rings.

Top quality food was really craving fish and chips and went to venture out in Streetsville for a drive. Spotted this place has an old school feel to it with plentiful menu items $9.99 for a regular or $16.99 for a large. Got one piece and fries which were very traditional like how they made them back in the day. Fish cod large piece very crispy waited for it to be cooked fresh and was asked what condiments I wanted. Ate right away so damn good!

I came by here not expecting much and was hoping to just get a quick bite (the plaza looks a little worn down but is sort of iconic for anyone that has grown up around the Streetsville area). Initially I had planed to get halibut; however, the store owner recommended I try the spicy fish and chips since traditional halibut is so common and this restaurants signature meal is their spicy fish and chips. I told him I really dislike spicy food and inquired about how 'spicy' it really was. He said not at all, and he guaranteed me I would enjoy it. It was made fresh so it took roughly 15 minutes for my order to arrive. In all due fairness, I truly mean it when I say this; this was the best fish and chips meal I have had in my entire life. The batter on the fish was explosively flavourful and the fish itself was thoroughly cooked and crispy. Likewise, the chips had a very unique seasoning (more than just salt) and the salad had a cold and very fresh taste - which felt amazing on a summer day like today! Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the fish was lightly fried (wasn't dripping in oil) yet very crispy. I have been to many fish and chips places and I reallllly hate that 'oil induced coma' feeling that often accompanies the meal. Lastly, it is worth mentioning that the owner is a very friendly guy who likes to converse with customers, and he works there with his daughter. I had a great meal today, and the visit made an already great Friday even better! 5/5

The food was really good, but was not a great value for the money spent on it. An order of halibut and chips gets you a small square of halibut and a small amount of french fries for $11.99. I've gone to many other fish and chip places that have easily given twice the amount of food for less money.

I had the halibut fish and chips meal ($13). It was OK, portion was good but the meal was a bit on the greasy side. The coleslaw tasted really good. The place is small and has a handful of tables for dining it. The decor is very outdated and not very appealing, could use some work on this front. There is lots of parking available. Overall it was an OK experience.

Fish was cooked way too much and was hard. Fries were stale. Couldn't take more than one bite of the mushy peas, they were just terrible. It's expensive and I wouldn't even eat there if it was a dollar. Not going back again.
