Heard about this place so when visiting the Miramichi, we stopped in ...Had fish and chips....food was o.k ....but pricey for the amount....extra for ketchup (get maybe teaspoon included....real piss off for me was after receiving my order I asked for extra tarter sauce....they don't offer it CASH ONLY....no debit Back to Dixie Lee for us!!!!!!

I don't understand why people get so excited about these fish 'n chips. They are super greasy! But maybe that's why people enjoy them so much. I also found it to be a bit on the pricey side for take-out junk food.

Very kind people and incredible fries! It was around 10pm or so and I realized I hadn't eaten yet that day, so I found this place on Google Maps and decided to try it. I think they were almost out because it was so late, but they still packed me up a large serving and were so nice! My aunt and I could have eaten a whole bag of those fries they were so good lol

Not sure why everyone likes this place, no ketchup u have to pay for it, no tarter sauce, greasy fish which is small....fries are squishy too.....if u go bring a bottle of ketchup and ur own tartar sauce.... and way to expensive ....

On a tour of New Brunswick and passed through, I picked this restaurant based on google reviews. Even with GPS I did find this a bit hard to find. It looks like maybe an old motel, and from the parking lot there is no sign indicating where to enter or what it is. I headed for the doors on the side of the building and chose the door on the right at random. I felt like I was in an episode of Seinfeld maritime edition of the Soup Shop episode. As I entered a large man popped his head through a small window in the hall. "what can I get you" he barked. I ordered the fish and chips I had been craving and took a few steps to the left down a paneled hallway toward the cash register, hoping not to upset the "Fish Nazi" and get banned for one year. Now I've had fish and chips a couple hundred times in my life, spanning several provinces.. This was hands down the yummiest battered fish I've ever had. Cooked perfectly. The fries were fresh cut but not quite as crispy as I like., but I dont get fish and chips for the chips. Luckily I had cash on hand, as they do not take debit or credit. There is no sit down eating here, get your fish and get out. And I suggest ordering a couple extra ketchup's, one was not enough. I am extremely please with my meal, and the experience. Next time I'm in New Brunswick I will drive 6 hours out of my way if I have to to get more of this outstanding culinary masterpiece. Thank you Estey's for a good eat and an awesome story. Update 3 years later.... Couldn't stop myself from heading to my favorite fish and chips shack again while I'm in the area. Still an amazing crispy batter and perfectly cooked fish. This visit I learned if you want to get fish when they open, you can phone in an order 30 mins before they open to jump the queue when you arrive. Thanks again Estys, see you again soon.

Tried to eat here. Was rushed off the phone when placing an order, and it's run out of an apartment building. When I went to pickup I was then told it was cash only. No mention of it over the phone, and no price was given over the phone. Wouldn't recommend this business.

I loved Esteys, no fish was ever comparable. The last few times I've went, it's gone down hill. The fish is paper thing, batter is overcooked, I'm pretty sure I could get more meat out of a goldfish. Every year the prices go up, and the fish gets smaller. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.
