Our family came in to purchase a bicycle the other day. While we were going through the checkout process, we witnessed the manager on shift treat another customer very poorly. With customer service going down the drain, I can see why online shopping is the way of the future.

Great selection of quality sports wear, and the sales are sometimes good. My biggest complaint is the very high prices on some products. Be prepared to spend some coin here.

This is by far the best sports store in the city. Regardless of what sport you play, they have pretty much anything you could want. Hey carry everything from baseball bats (both aluminum and wood), hockey gear, basketball, and much more. They also carry workout gear like dri fit, shorts, and also your everyday stuff like hoodies and shirts. They also have atmosphere attached so they have a variety of outdoor gear as well. All in all and great place with great staff

Update to original post. Sport Chek Regional Manager made contact and did a fantastic job with doing the best to resolve our concerns given the unfortunate history with the bike servicing experiences. Hoping future bike purchases and servicing experiences are better. 2 stars due to poor, substandard bicycle repairs on multiple occasions over the past several years. We have purchased multiple bikes for our family from this location and unfortunately the repairs and maintenance provided are poor, at best. Our last experience was having multiple parts replaced on a 2 year old mountain bike, at our expense due to factory parts being sub-standard and not holding up on expensive ($400-$500) bikes. After 3 weeks of waiting, calling multiple times for repair ETA's we picked up the bike only to get it home and find that many of the replaced parts were loose, poorly installed and after the first ride the brand new chain snapped. The master link was improperly installed. This is a safety issue, my son could've been seriously hurt when the chain snapped. I've discussed sub-standard repairs with the manager over the past couple years, the situation is not improving unfortunately. It's too bad that the products sold are good for the most part however, service is so important, it's just not here with this location.

Girl friend drove from Swift Current to pick up a pair of runners for me and online it said it was in stock. I sent a picture of the shoe with the brand and price and model of shoe and they sold her the wrong shoe... Called to complain and i got some kid saying he was a manager saying well i should of ordered online to get the right one. How can a idiot not follow a picture a item number and a brand name... Will not shop at sportchek again

Didn't see one employee wearing a mask at the Medicine Hat Sport Chek location today, and barely any customers wearing masks either. The employees advised not to touch shoes while looking at them, however social distancing was not being practiced. Employees were interacting with each customer as the lineup for the shoe department proceeded and were typically 2 to 3 feet apart in conversations. You can't touch shoes, but can touch any other merchandise in the store?! Also, I would be more concerned with these employees putting others at risk of Covid, rather than the shoes!

My husband and I along with our 2 kids came in for baseball equipment. Worst customer service I've experienced in a longtime. No one was at the till, we had to call out for someone. Then the female staff members proceeded to gossip through their headsets. We heard them and witnessed it. It was very apparent. Such a disappointment considering it was our very first visit to the sport chek medicine hat store on may 8, 2019 at 8pm. Will definetly be taking our business elsewhere. 0 stars

Just wanted to take a quick minute to share my experience with Sport Chek in Medicine Hat. We are from the Calgary area and could not locate a new or used bicycle for my son. All stgood enegy ores in Calgary are sold out of the size my son needs (due to Covid). We were in Medicine Hat and I thought I would check things out to see if they had my son's size. I was greeted by friendly staff at the Sports desk (Jaden). They did have my son's size, but it had to be built. Jaden advised that he would need a few hours to set it up and we picked it up a few hours later. I wish I could remember other staff that helped, but i would say staff at this location were friendly and supportive and delivered on what they said they would do! Great teamwork and good energy!

Terrible experience in Medicine hat store. Bought items got charged twice on my credit card when I called back they did not do anything just kept saying sorry but we cant do anything to refund your money. I will not ever return back to store. I haven't had that terrible experience with any other company. nobody cared to make it right. Trust broken.

Floor staff is very friendly and helpful but could be better educated on sales promotions. After browsing the sales rack and being told that there would be an additional 25% off of the sales items I selected I chose several more items and asked if all of the items were eligible.The young man confirmed they were eligible so I proceeded to the check out. When it came time to pay the girl at the cash register was adamant that none of the items were eligible and called the floor staff up to see what he had said. He confirmed he had said they were eligible and she made a bit of a scene about it not being eligible. There was a line up of people waiting to buy their items so I paid the bill and left the store. The girl working the cash register at 12:30 on Saturday Feb 2/19 was not very friendly or professional.

Simply dropping our skis off to be waxed on March 9. After much time wasted on deliberation and trying to contact a manager, the service person informs us they can only wax 1 of the 4 pairs because they are changing their seasonal focus to bikes. It is March 9!! The ski season is short enough but it does run significantly past March 9 at most hills. Would certainly never buy a wax card for the year if you can only get a couple waxes in. As I write this there is a blizzard on March 29.
